    Cheers OP.
Personally, I prefer the Xbox One controllers. These feel slightly smaller and my fingers feel uncomfortable after a while

    • That’s interesting, I didn’t notice a difference at all! Do the dimensions on the website say they’re smaller?

    • I'm with you! The change in triggers are the biggest difference imo

    • +2

I prefer these over the old ones any day

      • Same the new texturing on the back and on the triggers makes it so nice to use.

  • +3

Reckon there will be a bigger sale in the near future?
I've been holding off till they drop to $60-$69 mark like some past deals, but feeling like biting the bullet soon

    • +2

Do you need it now? Otherwise hold out.

    • +2

How about $59.67 + Shipping (free with Club) or $53.33 if you are targeted.

    • +1

They've been $78 for weeks now, waiting for sub $70

    • I got some free with Telstra points….quite handy

  • +1

Bought one recently, the unit likes to disconnect from the PC when connected via bluetooth - when vibration occurs. Doesn't happen when plugged in via USB. Have done multiple firmware upgrades which have supposedly 'fixed' it. I do enjoy the feeling of the controller overall, but am annoyed that I can't play wirelessly with force feedback. YMMV.

    • +3

Have you tried on another bluetooth dongle etc?

If it's definitely the controller at fault you can go to devicesupport.microsoft.com and register it and send it away. They'll send out a new unit on the same day they receive your old one most the time. If you're on the Eastern States you'll have it back same week most the time. I've sent one away in Perth on the Monday and had a new one back on the Friday. Alternatively the retailer you purchased from should swap it out too.

      • Yep, and updated drivers/firmware/etc. Tried it on a difference PC, same net result. I actually have tried using the device support site, but cannot get to the end of the process (moaning about cookies on multiple browsers/connections, looks like there's a server side issue of sorts).

Can't take it back to a retailer, because well, I'm on lockdown and it came from the Telstra Plus rewards program so I'd likely need to go into a Telstra store. Feel like I need to wait it out for either the MS site to come good. It's only a very recent purchase, so I've got plenty of time.

        • +3

Yeh definitely plenty of time. I should add Microsoft also send through a shipping label too (as they should).

Not too sure why the site failed though, I put one through yesterday without issue, however the Xbox site itself also has a way of doing it here, it's not fully automated like the other site but still pretty quick once a rep confirms it's in warranty they email you the shipping label - https://support.xbox.com/en-AU/help/hardware-network/control…

      • I am having some issues with my 6 month old controller.

Sometimes, it feels like button A and B does bot respond to my regular button press, as nothing happens in the game when I press those. When I notice, I then press again (perhaps more firmly) and it works. The problem is that I cannot always reproduce the problem, hence not sure if I can prove it as a fault. But it is ruining my gaming experience as always putting me in doubt.

Do you think they will change the controller if I send it back? Thanks.

        • Honestly I can't guarantee they will be they very likely will. They're quite good, if you log onto the devicesupport.microsoft.com website and enter the serial number it should show you how much is remaining in the warranty (should be two years worth all up)

I've sent back many a controller for minor issues that can't always be replicated. I'm sure that they don't really even fully investigate the controller before sending you out a new / refurbished unit to be honest.

        • Same exact problem. Sticking A button. Sent it back last week after a fury of online mishaps caused by the A button.

    • Do you need the wireless adapter? https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08P5G5F8Z?th=1 or can you just get the control pad and use bluetooth from motherboard?

      • Thanks, got a friend who's offered his but I'd rather it work as intended via Bluetooth without issue :)

        • Sorry I mean does the controller work with windows without the wireless adapter? I was looking to buy.

          • +1

@jiberz: Yes on bluetooth, but I personally have issues with it, as have other people. Will work with the USB cable, and I believe it'll work with that adapter.

    • It's broken. Take it back. Why do people put up with stuff like this?

      • +1

I have the same issue and already had 3 replacements already.

Seems to be a common issue with disconnecting from PC when connected via bluetooth.

        • +1

I've upgraded to Windows 11, and a bluetooth update pushed via Windows Update came through. I can confirm the controller no longer disconnects as a result of this.

          • @BOGLOAD: Nice to know they finally fixed the issue. But I've already bought the wireless adapter :(

    • +1

its the same issues elite v2 has, you need to adapter for controllers or wired. really annoying

    • DualSense has been working great with Steam

    • no, you cant use xbox over bluetooth , you need to buy the wireless adapter unfortunately
I have elite 2 and its the same, i get massive fps drops…its really weird

  • Do these still require the purchase of a Play and Charge Kit for the battery to be rechargeable? https://www.xbox.com/en-AU/accessories/batteries-chargers/pl…

    • Pretty sure yes. The new battery packs are just usb-C instead of micro.

      • Thanks. Sad news but will live with it. I wonder if the new USB-C battery packs got a battery life boost compared to the old ones which have tended to die out in 2-3 years.

    • I think the old battery still works and you’d need a USB-C cable.

      • My issue wasn't with the cable by rather the shocking battery life that comes with it.

    • +7

Don't waste your money on that junk.
You're much better off using rechargeable batteries.
Or, if you have a power bank, you can use that too :)

      • +1

Yeah, I've resorted to rechargeable batteries but I was secretly hoping these new controllers will take Playstation's approach and go with built in rechargeable batteries, just one less thing to worry about.

      • Yeah i've already got 3 of these myself.. they last about 10 mins now…if that.

  • +1

Any deals on the 1TB expansion card. Gamepass is too generous.

    • +1

mightyape had it for 315, cheapest ive seen recently

  • +1

Any deals on the Xbox Elite 2 Controller?

  • +2

I wish the dpad on these weren’t so bloody loud!

    • It’s weird, the dpad in the Xbox one controllers were such dog shit but quiet and now they made them great they loud af.

      • Yeah exactly. If a little company like 3bitdo can do it, surely MS could manage.

  • +4

Little reminder, if you have TGG commercial, these are $72 for white/black, $76 for red/blue

Also 30k telstra plus points for white/black (31.5k for red/blue) if that's an option

  • +3

I saw it cheaper in 1992 at a garage sale

  • Why are robots white.

  • Sorry. wrong post.

  • Got the white one, but it's now showing $89. Black one still $79, but has a longer delivery time, different warehouse maybe.

  • +1

Worth mentioning if you have a third party battery pack it won’t work with these new controllers unless you double check compatibility. I already bought two battery packs from ebs that didn’t fit as there are new notches in the battery compartment. Hell pissed about it.

  • Seems to be expired :(

    • Carbon Black is still $78.

      • Ah true, was just keen on the white.

What a ripoff! Sony Dualsense which is a true next gen controller had sales for $76 is cheaper than 3 generation behind old reuse and recycled cheapbox controller! What a joke! Anyone that fall for this blatant marketing BS corporation (m$) is a shill…
My $60 switch pro/8bitdo pro 2 is far better than this joke of a controller…
Wake up and start boycotting satanic m$
