@Manche: We are not ignoring you on purpose, if you would like a refund I will organise it for you.

              • @Buy Aussie Now: The whole point is you should be refunding everyone who's emailed. Not making rubbish promises on OZB.

              • @Buy Aussie Now: You won’t. 4 chances is way more than enough.

Any business should be aware of impressing first customers .
From trying a fish and chip shop to serial offenders like HN and TGG .
All after first customer dissatisfaction I would never order from again .

      • +10

Actually NO the business should be maximising value and profit.

Offering these types of promotions to parasitic bargain hunters may not be the best business model for Dr Proctors.

The negative comments on this forum from sooks, whingers and concern trolls is are a clear indication that the market segment may not be a good fit for the Dr Proctors when the noisy minority, fixated and inflexible, wage anonymous reputational warfare against the merchant. They are unappreciative of supply chain constraints and bottlenecks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UT1EnL7nOc

Anyone who has their own business or works in one, knows that these things happen especially with covid, unexpected demands, supply chain and communication issues.

Even if the majority of customers may realise that delays happen, especially with a popular promotion, and are happy with a good product at a bargain price is the reputational damage by a few really worth it?

Next time maybe offer a hundred units at a special price, most of us will miss out unfortunately but at least the noisy will only complain about the 'missed deal'.

The product is great, worth the wait, thank you - delicious.

Very good point. Honestly this whole comment section has been embarassing for Ozbargain more than anything (if not a little hilarious).

People don't bitch when an Amazon product is oversold and shipped once stock arrives, but far too many people here were happy to try and destroy a new small business (even if they did make mistakes).

It's jerky. Cheap jerky! And a half dozen people in this comment section have been writing essays daily as if Buy Aussie Now poisoned their first born.

Go eat some Biltong and chill out guys.

Sadly as someone with a marketing background (which as we used to joke at Uni made you a fully qualified used car salesman upon graduation) - this is very much true.

The numbers will be off but they're indicative - in that a customer who has a good experience will tell 3 people about this but someone who has a bad experience will tell 10 people about this.

Also getting that 1st sale with a customer is the most difficult and so how it goes largely decides if they will ever deal with you again, a good 1st time experience will see you tolerate mistakes later on, but a stuff up initially will see very few risk coming back again.

Also there's something know as a 'customer service recovery' - essentially how a business can turn a negative experience into an actual positive i.e you're told at the airport that your flight is delayed by 2hrs, but as a goodwill gesture the airline has allowed all passengers for this delayed flight to use their premium airlounge for the duration of the delay.

Most people will come away feeling yes there was a problem, but they handled it well and it worked out for my actual benefit in the end.

@Buy Aussie Now has never seemed to grasp that nearly everyone on here was ok with a delay - even a lengthy one - we're all pretty reasonable - despite my angry posts I know I am this way - but to be given bad info over and over and over - and have it done via a completely unprofessional manner in the OzB comments is just compounding the issue many times over.

In my opinion the damage they've done to their brand, reputation and future patronage from OzB is immense and it all could have been very easily avoided with very basic entry level concepts.

        • +1

we passed on live information as we had it. we tried to update as quickly as possible.
Yes delivery times were wrong but that was the information we had on hand at the time.

        • +10

These guys have been here non-stop replying to comments like this, and seem to have gone out of their way to fulfil orders as soon as they can.

Honestly, my experience here has been pretty decent in the scheme of things. The jerky is great, it's far from the longest an order has taken to arrive, and they seem to have successfully shipped everything with very few mixups (though I realise some are still waiting on Aus Post for the delivery).

It's not the first 70%+ off deal posted on OzBargain that overwhelms the supplier, and it won't be the last. Getting the product at all makes it a much better experience than all the JD, limited Amazon stock etc. deals that get posted to Ozb and quickly sell out or may/may not get refunded a few days later.

Having the rep in here every day shows a distinct desire to make things right. I'd happily make the purchase again, and tell my designated three people.

You clearly see things differently, but man, you've posted almost 50 times in this thread. You've made your point.

          • @sircrumpet:

These guys have been here non-stop replying to comments like this, and seem to have gone out of their way to fulfil orders as soon as they can.

If @Buy Aussie Now put half as much effort into ensuring he was getting reliable and accurate information as you feel he does choosing, to reply to posts - then we'd all be much better for it. He replies as he wants, and lets be fair - very little of consequence is said - we're sorry, it won't happen again, hope you shop with us again.

He's now openly saying essentially David from D&S/Proctors has been giving us untrue/false info - and we're victims of this too. OK, as I asked @Buy Aussie Now and still await a reply - why is David not keeping us updated directly or on here?

And if you're giving credit for BAN 'replying' in this thread there's umpteen msgs to them from folks who are asking why their refund request has not been actioned in a week plus but no reply there.

IMHO their being on the thread is just a clumsy effort to make a damage limitation - when instead a much better return would come from pushing David for accurate and reliable info - especially after the first 2 weeks delay - when it became evident this was getting messy.

50+ is a lot - but I feel obliged to provide a fair and reasonable counterpoint - especially to folks who write directly to me in a very decent manner such as yourself - I was raised that to do otherwise would be rude. That said i am not trying to make others, who for whatever reason feel it was a positive experience - see otherwise - I respect their opinion.

            • +3

@Daniel Plainview: Nikko ive tried to keep replying to you but you have taken this all way too far.
I dont even know if you bought the Jerky.
Buy Aussie Now is a team of 5 people doing our best to provide a great deal. We had an issue with the suppliers packaging being delayed and tried to update you with all the information we had on hand as we had it.
Everyone is receiving their jerky, late and we apologies but you can see its being delivered and the quality is great. We apologies for the delays, we tried our best.

              • +1

@Buy Aussie Now: @Buy Aussie Now , what did I take too far? You reply really say little meaningful as you really pick and choose what you outright ignore. i.e why so many people have sent refund requests and not had these actioned (which is actually illegal).

Or why if David is as you say the cause of the bad info - he's not communicating directly with us instead of you? Which is actually how the sale should occur according to your website & also common sense (he's the vendor, you're the intermediary)

Or why communications are going out in this threads messages and not via direct emails to buyers? I pity poor buyers who are wondering whats going on trying to sort through 14pages+ to find which of you info is most recent.

                • +2

@Daniel Plainview: again you dont know the facts, refund requests have been actioned, some people were refunded.
If someone gets the jerky and wants a refund we will organise the return of the jerky and refund.
The reason we couldnt do some is because we were in the middle of sending 3500 orders and would be almost impossible to locate.
Nikko please find something better to do with your time.

                  • @Buy Aussie Now: @Buy Aussie Now , you're right I don't - though thats in some part due to your not answering mine and many others' simple questions.

Perfect example - this refund request - it only took 14 pages+ for you to finally give one of the many people who stated this some clarification.

With all due respect, I don't think 'It'd be too hard' is acceptable as a basis for ignoring a refund request after a month's delay in sending a product under ACL.

Respectfully disagree - I think this is terrific use for my time. But being that you're now branching out into giving others advice on what to do with their time - let me repay the kindness by recommending this book to you:

                      • @Buy Aussie Now: Why do i need to PM you? Why haven’t you just processed everyone’s request that’s emailed? Im calling you out on your constant lies saying everyone who’s requested a refund has gotten one.

                  • @Buy Aussie Now: Fact: Not one person says they have received a refund.

Fact: I have not received a refund despite multiple requests

Fact: I do not have the product after well over a month of constant stalling and lies

Fact: I’m sick of this rubbish and want my money back. And to warn others so they do not have endure this rubbish.

Fact: You state you don’t keep stock of inventory but somehow will stop this happening again (along with all your other broken promises)

          • @sircrumpet: 50 + maybe the guy is starting a quest to beat jv record with the inspiration of being `^ around with his Jerky :)

          • +7

@sircrumpet: If the OP wanted to make things right, they wouldn't be blatantly ignoring those of us directly asking why our orders are still being processed.
There are a fair few of us here whose orders still haven't shipped and we are being ignored both here and in email and it's frustrating. Some asked for a refund weeks ago and were ignored. Nikko is correct, that is not legal yet nobody seems to care now that the majority supposedly have their jerky and we are being told to shut up.

Say what you want about Nikko, but at least he got a response. Yes it was purely from brute force posting and annoyance but BAN have shown that they have learned absolutely nothing from this experience because even today they are still using the same tactics they did weeks ago. It doesn't matter how often the rep is here if they are ignoring the actual issue and using the same empty blanket statement. They are here purely for damage control.

The NOW.. no NOW.. .noooo NOW… wait NOW for real …nooooooo NOW nooo wait no NOW strategy hasn't panned out so let's try the LA LA LA LAAAA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!

If they don't know when then just stop saying anything definite and go and make an actual enquiry on our behalf as to WTF is going on. They are still taking new orders on their site even though those from over a month ago still haven't shipped and they don't seem all that fu$$ed. Today all we got was that the rest of us will receive them today or tomorrow which is yet again untrue. I can guarantee that mine won't arrive this week. Then they ignored those who have mentioned theirs haven't even shipped but respond to other posts praising them (or in Nikkos case, p!ssing them off.)

Things happen and I understand that. I've been patient and it will arrive when and if it arrives. I'd wait 2 months if they were honest and upfront and genuinely seemed to care. However, dangling the carrot, blaming suppliers and ghosting customers isn't a great sign and their lack of genuine customer service and support is why I'm done.

            • @Freezies: we are not ignoring, Aus Post doesnt scan bulk orders. for example i received an order today with no update after being prepared.

              • +1

@Buy Aussie Now: @Buy Aussie Now , on what authority do you have this information?

So how is that that some of the orders had full tracking showing every normal step of the delivery - but others and seemingly a lot of them only show that the order is being prepared? Thats not normal.

I know some items in AP's system will miss out on being scanned at a certain part of their transit - but to state that bulk orders (whats your definition of this, a truck full of items from one sender?) are not scanned is, in my experience - incorrect.

Every item would be scanned either at pickup &/or when they reach the AP depot/sorting centre.

So you can assure us that every single order placed has been dispatched from the factory?
                And when was this done?

                • @Daniel Plainview: As mentioned I'm an ex-GM and have 7 years experience in dealing with Aus post.
My Jerky order for example arrived with only one email saying being prepared.
I am not the sender, so I can only and have only ever gone on information provided to me.

              • +4

@Buy Aussie Now: I've posted quite a bit and got no response until after the final damage was done.

Nevertheless, if AP doesn't scan bulk orders, wouldn't you have considered this instead of giving us new arrival dates all the time? I can tell you right now that my package will not arrive this week. I guarantee it. At the very least, I would have gotten a tracking update when it arrived in my state. It has not been processed anywhere.

If your suppliers are giving you misinformation, wouldn't you take steps to ensure your company's reputation isn't at stake instead of always crying wolf? I understand you got overwhelmed but you didn't learn after the first couple of weeks and kept doing the same thing which then really showed people what kind of company you are as there is a point where it becomes blatant. Most companys would have offered the option to refund without even asking, not only did you not do that, you also ignored people outright asking for a refund which is something you haven't addressed at all.

I'm not here to muck rake. Things will pan out as they will. Just be honest and transparent even if you think it makes you look bad as that goes a lot further than "It's not my fault" even if it's not actually your fault. You should have been proactive and cancelled orders knowing they couldn't be fulfilled to a satisfactory standard. Offered refunds or express shipping, anything other making that quick buck that will now cost you more in reputation down the road because you chose to be reactive instead.

                Anyways, best of luck.

                • -2

@Freezies: We can only put procedures in place to stop this ever happening again and apologies.
I dont want to give anymore date but rather just get the dam jerky delivered.
We made a loss not a buck and refunding would of saved us money but possibly upset people even more.
If people want to return the jerky for a refund we will do that.
again I apologies and we can assure you this wont happen in the future,

            • +5

@Freezies: @Freezies , great post and very well stated.

In business, once they have your money, you've got no leverage - so while I get it my repeated posts may have not been to many's tastes - I would say that it was to get a response and hold @Buy Aussie Now to account under their obligations inline with Australian Consumer Law.

And also to show that there's publicity consequences for a palava of a 'sale' like this where you ignore people for weeks, blame others for everything and repeatedly give out bad info.

I know my style isn't to everyone's tastes, sometimes uncomfy questions need to be asked. I'll very happily remove anything I said that was untrue and I have never sought to challenge/undermine/sway others who feel regardless of the delay the sale was a positive for them.

Anyway your post was an excellent and balanced one.

              • -3

@Daniel Plainview: It would be refreshing to see you comment on any of the positives?

                • +4

@Buy Aussie Now: @Buy Aussie Now , you're a tad needy now then aren't you.

                  Positives:
                  - A month in folks are getting their orders
                  - Apparently the product is good, no bad feedback at all from anyone
                  - That being the case Doctor Proctors has it's own shop, so for ANYONE IN THIS DEAL no need to ever have to go through @Buy Aussie Now ever again to patronise them: https://doctorproctors.com.au/collections/doctor-proctors-ra…
                  - This thread will be up forever, so whenever people want to know about @Buy Aussie Now , they'll have no further to look ;-)

If you want more reassuring pats on the back you'll have to forgive me as my order is 'Still being prepared'.

PS. You've a pebble in your shoe. Annoying aren't they.

                  • @Daniel Plainview: Thanks for the @nikko we are going to do our best to turn this around.
Who knows you may even be one of those people!

                    • @Buy Aussie Now: Yeah nah. Never going to buy through BAN ever again. If you were honest about anything you would have refunded me by now, which you haven’t despite my repeated requests.

                    • @Buy Aussie Now: What a joke. This is not a once off. It’s a pattern of behaviour and speaks to your attitude, your businesses’ attitude and your staff’s attitude.

This is a deep seated problem that you will never address and is likely ingrained in how you do and see things.

                • @Buy Aussie Now: That we have been out of pocket for over a month, constantly lied to and still have not received anything?
And that our refunds have been ignored for a month?

Order arrived in Victoria today, all correct.

Feeling VERY sorry for those who did charge backs or demanded refunds instead of getting this at 70% off. That is some top quality jerky. Brilliant work BAN and Dr Procter. I've said a few times I don't understand why people are so upset bar some delay recieving it, but given they have actually gone and made it for us is impressive.

The quality of this jerky is FANTASTIC in comparison to a lot I have tried over the years. Very impressive.

    • +3

      Thanks for the kind words.
      It means a lot!

      • +3

And thank you for bringing this to the OzB community. And for supporting Dr Procter - I am over the moon with the quantity and quality of the jerky and biltong. You've done well responding to people complaining due to the shipping delays and concerns. (I'm not judging - I was happy to wait)

My only complaint is that I have cracked open a second bag already because I am so keen to try the flavours. Curry and Pepper Steak so far and both have been absolutely mint.

Honestly a one or two liner about not being happy with the wait time- fine. Some of the comments from people though were just bordering ridiculous. This is what happens though when you deal with the public, and your public are the problem.

      • The sort of behavior that will make a company think twice about offering such a good product at such a good price tbh

      • Now you can blame the incompetent postal service we call Australia Post.

One of the worst postal services in the world. The Domincan Republics post service are quicker then Aus Post.

This means a shipping label was printed, but the package was not yet received or scanned by Australia Post, so I am not sure if we can blame them in this case.

Order arrived today. Delivery to my apartment date from shipment notice was sent was pretty quick.

Jerky is gooood! Agree, we did wait awhile but it’s a super bargain. For the price and quality, would definitely order (and wait) again. Quality product, right amount of moisture and flavour.

My wife isn’t a big fan of beef or jerky products and she’s already gone through a few and asked why I didn’t buy more.

  • received mine the other day and cracked open the first pack. it's great, my big complaint is that i didn't order another pack, 500gm won't be enough.

    grrrrrr

    worth the wait though

  • +5

Only suggestion that would have been a step for redemption against the delays would have been for all the orders to be shipped via Express Post. Would have been a gesture to show that both parties were doing everything possible to make up for lost time. The jerky is ok to good but I wouldn't buy at any higher price. Maybe it was too hyped up. I won't be taking up any further deals from BAN or Doctor Proctor unless they accept PayPal and I have an easy way of getting a refund should there be delays again.

Didn’t he charge $5 for shipping? My package was a kilo. I don’t expect him to spend $15-$20 on shipping a $25-$50item. Bit of a stretch tbh.

My order arrived yesterday and it's great! A small delay in delivery is not the end of the world that some posts on here make out and I for one would be more than happy to purchase again..

I can see most of it being eaten by the end of the weekend while sipping a few beers… Once you open a packet it's very hard to stop eating it…..

    Thanks OP!

I received my order yesterday - I have finished the 30gram packs and one of the 100gram. The 1KG I ordered won't last long…it's delicious.

Wasn't phased that it took so long, i had actually forgotten i had ordered it and it wasn't time sensitive for me. Very good value overall.

    Thanks.

  • What bag do I crack open first?

    • Smokin' Hot is my recommendation so far.

    Nailed the 100G Curry.

Seems to be good cut of meat, not tough or overly chewy. Quite soft. Good flavour, but very mild (needs 20% or so more kick).

Def better than Aldi/Coles/Woolies/Jack Links rubbish.

      100% better than supermarket brought

There’s some very passionate jerky “fans”.

Got my order today, I ordered the 5 x 100g mixed flavours. All packaged nicely. Expires 05/08 which I wonder if it was made fresh as hell :)

Started with the one I thought I wouldn’t like - Curry/biltong. It’s incredible! Can’t wait to try the others.

Will definitely reorder in future. Thanks Dave and Aussie!

Well anyway BAN is the beneficiary of the action generated here with big tks to Nikko even though they seem to be annoyed by it lol :)
It stuck on a lot of OZB member's front pages :)

  • Received. Thanks

  • Received, thank you.
    Bought the 500g pack https://www.buyaussienow.com.au/half-kilo-super-pack

    On the package, only OG and Curry had Biltong labelled;
the rest (Smokin' Good, Smokin' Hot, and New Orleans) had Jerky labelled; I've only opened OG and Smokin' Good but I think both are biltong (I don't usually buy jerky unless it's Chinese style).

    • You are correct - BAN indicated it was a package labeling issue earlier in the thread.

      • Thank you for letting me know. The comment thread became hectic I've stopped reading 😅

  • Anyone else received despite AusPost tracking showing "it's being prepared"?

    • +1

Today we have been promised today it will be delivered today or tomorrow so no problem for anyone waiting 😃
Despite delivery for me is expected 18 august to 23rd. For some they haven't even showed anything after preparing just the labels. BUT take it from OP. he is EX-GM. Tomorrow is going to be a beautiful day for everyone 😇😇😇 just watch!

      • He is an ex GM, must be trustworthy!!!

      Got an update just now.

      Expected Friday 20 Aug 2021 – Wednesday 25 Aug 2021*

I think I'm going to cry myself to sleep and then dream about receiving and eat the biltong. 😭

      • Just got mine today - pretty bloody good.

Still not received after a month. Multiple requests for refunds ignored with constant stalling. Ongoing lies and delay tactics. What a company.

I’m shocked recieved all 5 packs of 100g each today, all the frustration to get this, yes it’s genuine and taste great but man if I had to go through each time ordering like this I would need to pass, but again the jerky is superb that is all.

  • Received today in regional NSW. Haven't tried it yet.

Some people have ZERO patience for an absolute great Oz Bargain! I am still waiting. Was concerned but with all the info here I am no longer concerned, just being patient!

    Your item
    Delivery expected
    Wed 18 – Thu 19 Aug*

    Sounds good to me!

  • And here is the final nail in the coffin of lies

    I might receive it this week …. maybe … but hey … it's not OP / BuyAussieNow's fault ….

  • Received my jerky despite asking for a refund via email on the 5th. Despite this, I will not take any more hassles to process the refund on top of NSW's COVID restrictions.

Hope to never see you again OP and goodbye to this long ass thread.

    Yours Sincerely,
