Shame the stand isn't as wide as the C series. I would have snapped it up if it was. Or if I could alternatively find a way to off load my two kids.

How much are they going for?

      • -8 votes

        Disturbing reply.

        • +19 votes

Lighten up, was obviously not a serious inquiry…

        •

I find your reply disturbing marchi.

You got a chuckle out of me, ignore the haters.

I'll give you my old TV if you come and collect all of them.

    •

      Can get tv safety harness

    •

The BX comes with a safety strap.

  •

the BX 55 doesnt seem to be avaliable barely anywhere, and no delivery :(

  •

damn thats a shame. seems only dubbo has stock, would have loved this for the sim rig!

    No stock in Vic

  •

Great price but way too dim for an OLED.

    • +1 vote

Apparently the B7 is a lot brighter than even the C1 which is weird, I think only the G1 is as bright or brighter. When do you think we'll get a bigger upgrade over the B7?

      •

Yeah, the B series has been getting dimmer every year since 7. Really hope mine lasts as long as possible. Hard to say to be honest, looks like they're putting more focus on the higher models.

        •

          Why they making them dimmer?

          • +2 votes

@richmond12: My guess is ABL to reduce the risks of burn-in but could be wrong.

            • +3 votes

@p3r514n: This. Easy to claim your burn in prevention has improved when you've reduced brightness.

            •

@p3r514n: So is that software - maybe they can release an update to make it go brighter?

              •

@richmond12: Theoretically, yes, firmware updates can increase brightness however unlikely to happen.

              •

@richmond12: You can disable it yourself using a service remote, but you would void the warranty. Given LG (in my anecdotal experience) have been pretty good about replacing panels even out of their 12 month warranty period, I wouldn't recommend it, but it's possible

I have a b7 and cannot find a strong reason for upgrading…are c1 or cx a big improvement? Would I get a wow effect again? With all these lockdowns I haven’t been to any electronic shops just for browsing for a while…

        • +2 votes

          Extremely unlikely.

          •

            @tomoliveri: Exactly this.
Hold onto it for as long as possible.

        • +1 vote

Massive improvement for gaming due to HDMI 2.1 and EARC for sound depending on your equipment. But for picture quality not a huge improvement

      • +1 vote

Wait, so my B7 is extra glorious?

        Maaan, OLEDs confuse me.

  •

wasnt the C1 65 only a$100 or $200 more recently? If so then would rather go for that, not a huge diff but there are some that may be worthwhile depending on use case. Still a great deal for a great tv :)

    •

The 65 bx was 2350 ish

      • +5 votes

Yea so hold out for one of those prices rather. I'm holding out for the C1 as I couldn't get the financial advisor to approve my purchase on the last promo…. So I'm going to go for the forgiveness request instead of asking this next round

        •

          Where was that deal?! A 65” C1 for $1800-$1900?

          • +1 vote

@Willy420: I'm referring to the price of the 65 Bx op had in his post also

      •

That nearly killed me. Paid $3k zomg.

  •

Do good guys or jb hifi once you open the tv? Or once you try it that’s it.. hard to see these in real life with lockdown…

    • +1 vote

Yes, as TV's are something you can't be completely content with by looking at it in store.

      • +1 vote

Sorry I meant return. Does that still mean ‘yes’?

        • +1 vote

          Yep :)
This rule especially applies during lockdown considering you have no choice but to buy sight unseen.
No business likes fair trading complaints.

    •

They'll only accept a return if there's something wrong with it. Dead pixels, very heaving banding etc.

      •

        Ah, thanks

      •

You can return a TV that’s unfit for purpose.
It doesn’t have to have something wrong with it.
I haven’t personally had to do it myself but used to be in the industry and know that it’s possible.

        • -1 vote

No it doesn't work that way for any product these days. Unless the company specifically states that in their terms. Maybe in Iran you can do that but good luck returning a TV because you didn't think it was that good

          •

@Monstalova: I used to be a Hisense rep and we were sent back TV's with nothing wrong all the time. Have a look on the Whirlpool Forums, it's not unheard of. Iran doesn't have Human Rights, let alone Consumer Law.

Waiting for the day BX deals stop being posted and ruining my day 🤪🤪🤪🤪

  •

When is the next gen bx out?

    •

      My understanding is
      BX - A1
      CX - C1

      •

So instead of offering a correction, a passive aggressive neg instead haha
Apparently the A1 is a new 2021 model below the BX.
The B1 is in stock and available from LG apparently - $3676 for 65"

  •

Why is everyone loosing their shit over a 55' unit? Genuine question and I have no reason to troll.
Viewing distance? Used as offside screen in a 3x pc screen set up? For the sake of price?

    Plssss I'm so curious! 😜

    •

Because it's an OLED for cheap if you are fortunate enough to live somewhere that there is stock. You can use it as a computer monitor too

      •

Are Oleds rare as the gpus? Is there a stock shortage on quality tvs?
Not that I keep in the loop. Tho I did check the Hisense Q8 for a while, but the 2021 stock is hitting same price.
Even last year stock in 8k looks good.🙂

        • +1 vote

They aren't rare (although I did hear in Japan there was a shortage due to Olympics). But this was a bargain at this price point and LG is arguably the best OLED you can get (or was at least - I note there are now more competitors but LG have had more time to focus on OLED technology and is something they do well in)

    • +1 vote

I use 55 as my only TV. B7 I think. It blows every LED tv out of the water perhaps except if there is direct sun on the unit causing it to be a little dim.

I got it in 2019 for $1600 so no regrets.

      • +1 vote

        If it was 2019 it's probably a B8

        •

Oh yes I think it was. my bad. Still a good tv though.

  •

Anyone ever sold an OLED? I've had my 55" C8 for 3yrs now and with prices like this I want to move to the 65". For what it's worth - the screen was replaced this year so is essentially a 6 month old TV. Curious how close to RRP people would be willing to pay.

    •

      Not close.

TVs are too big to ship, so that already limits your potential buyers to people who live close and have a means to transport a TV.

Warranty is no longer valid, a huge downside on such a expensive purchase. Particularly with OLEDs with their reputation for burn-in.

    •

I would pay 40% of what you paid. RRP? Tell em they are dreamin,,…

    •

Depreciation is accelerated on electronic products because new tech comes out every 6-12 months or so. And the sale on new TVs recently have been very aggressive by TGG and JBH. You probably looked through all these sweet deals thinking of an upgrade, so is your potential buyer.

Less than 50% is your answer.

      •

Thanks for the responses - listing at around $1200 with room to wiggle was what was in my head originally so seems about right.

  •

Anyone have an issue with the BX where on all streaming content, regardless of 7+, Amazon Prime, Netflix, YouTube etc - people's faces have a spotlight effect, where there is a visible circle of light highlighting the subjects face?

I have no idea how to get rid of it and there is literally zero results Google searching for that specific problem.
