Nice, my partner wants one; but we already have one in the house. Enjoy people!

    • -5

He wants one, and has one… Does he want another, why.

      • +6

It's possible they want one each?

        • +2

Oh yeah, that could be it, if both were big enough gamers that they might have times of wanting to use a PS5 simultaneously…

          • +1

@muwu: I've got close friends that are like that. Makes sense. She has the PS5 now, and he's still hammering away on his PS4 lol

      • +4

Just in case of splits-ville and they don't want to have a custody battle over the only console in the relationship.

        • Isn't this what BFAs are for?

    • +2

People who negged this perfectly fine comment, need psychiatric help.

  • +10

Because of lockdown it looks like it's only for pick up in store.

    Huh?

    • +11

      Flu South Wales

      • +25

        New South Wuhan

        • -1

The original South Wales are as free as a bird thanks to 90% vaccination rate

        • SICKney

        • Welcome to India

      • +3

Yeah, but this logic makes no sense. Encouraging delivery, not picking up in store would make more sense in a lockdown.

        • +5

nothing about the nsw 'lockdown' makes sense, why is eb games even open?

      • Flu doesn't exist anymore, its all Covid.

    • +3

Yea, not a morning person. Totally overlooked it bahaha

  • +14

Because of lockdown it looks like it's only for pick up in store.

LOL, It should be delivery only then

    • +3

      totally overlooked it bahaha

  • +1

    Sweet thanks

  • +2

    Thanks OP

    • +72

      You're a bad person

    • +7

Pretty sure it is the same guy who said he had $1000s made from Xbox sales in the Xbox thread. Don't feed the troll guys!

      • +1

That's how he funds his Lamborghini library in the Hollywood Hills

    • +1

Looks like we have a new Broden on our hands

    • +1

Lmao this guy changed his display pic

    • -4

      Around Xmas time too!

Prices will go up like crazy with every kid wanting one.

      4 secured.

    • +4

By the time more shipments come in, you will be selling your units at a LOSS. However, well done on coming out to the OZB community as a scalper. Well done!!!

        • +1

Congrats on the neg count. Is that some record?

        • I'll restrain from virtue signalling one dude to another, but I do appreciate an entrepreneurial spirit at least…

            • +2

@Oxenfree123: I mean, you're leveraging against a supply and demand problem in a free market… that's legal, manufactures a personal profit, and is one example of what is commonly utilised by most business people.

But as a consumer, you exercebate the problem. You understand why the hate. It's an issue of ethics… but it isn't black-and-white right or wrong.

              So I won't neg you. But I won't give a +, either.

              • -3

@muwu: I would say the supply issue exacerbates the core issue which is people don't want to put in the work to ensure they secure these consoles when they become available, and then also they refuse to wait for the supply issue to subside. All I'm doing is leveraging idiots who are willing to pay $1000+ for a console that has an RRP of $750 simply because they refuse to wait or put in the work.

As a fairly average consumer, I am able to secure multiple consoles simply by regularly checking OzBargain and subscribing to relevant alerts (I don't use WhatsApp groups or Reddit or Discord channels). I don't see what is stopping someone who is clearly dying to get their hands on a console from doing this.

I'd also note, this is coming from someone who uses a Series S. The demand for Series X's and PS5's is completely unwarranted in my opinion, yet people continue to pay well over RRP.

I think that's harsh. The nature of being a consumer is paying a premium for the ease of supply from a retailer (e.g. stock being at your local bricks-and-mortar, or convenient delivery by an online store). You can't expect gross consumer behavioural change in response to an unprecedented supply issue, hence the inflated prices on the second hand market where the convenience of retail is best matched at the moment.

I'm in your boat. I put in some work to get my PS5. I subscribed to a stock alert app and finger-triggered a purchase at RRP within a 4-minute window before OOS. But you can't expect the typical consumer (and everyone in greater numbers) to do that.

I'd also note, this is coming from someone who uses a Series S. The demand for Series X's and PS5's is completely unwarranted in my opinion, yet people continue to pay well over RRP.

Well, that depend on your personal use case. There's a lot more value in a RX 6600, but it can't do a minority of uses that a 3080 can. I don't need a PS5, I could have lived just as happily with my PS4 Pro, but it's nicer having that marginally higher performance, new OS, and the few exclusives, and the cost is insignificant to me.

                • +1

@Oxenfree123: Mums n dads don’t know how to it’s not just a matter of effort.

                  The demand is certainly there.

With all the lockdowns etc I’m sure Sony could sell the number consoles they have sold to date again in 3 weeks if stock was there.

      • lol so you cancel and get your money back. Win/win.

    • +1

      10/10 bait

    • +7

Chip shortage world wide, Sony, Microsoft all suffering at the moment

      • +1

thank you, I have been living under a rock

        • +6

Got any rare earths under that rock??

          Asking for a mate

          • +3

@Telios: the rarest of all, mate

I am waiting for OzBargain deals on Pfizer vaccine

            • @shabaka: Pfizer, how do you know about it? It never came on a deal LOL

            • +2

@gizmomelb: Its everyones fault that voted for the liberals, I voted for labour os it wasn't my fault thats for sure. :D

    • You can mine on a ps5?

      • Not yet. The best console you can mine on without writing your own software is the PS4 Pro on an older firmware version.

    • +1

The chip shortage is only part of the problem, PS5 has been one of the fastest selling consoles ever so demand for gaming hardware is very high.

  • +15

Lol can't believe it's been out for almost a year now.

    • +1
      • Its ridiculous that there are three companies in the world that makes and supplies chips.

        • +2

Setting up a silicon fabrication plant is too expensive.
It's economically not worth setting it up, only to compete with the big players, which is why everyone in the world just deals with delays and profit loss than put money into setting up a fab plant.

        • +1

oh I'm sure when China decides to push it's 'ownership' of Taiwan and other surrounding islands there'll be an even bigger global shortage of chips and goods, I'm sure Korea and Japanese manufacturers are nervous.

      • +3

Sony Has Already Secured 22 Million Chips for the PlayStation 5
but maybe like organic fertiliser - sloooooooow release.

    • +1

  • +1

    OOS

  • -1

Oos? I got error message contact customer service

    • Mine went through 5 seconds ago

    • worked for me just now.

  • So, what are the best games to order with it? LOL

    • +3

Returnal has been my absolute top PS5 game so far.

      • Fighting off aliens; sounds fun. I got pumped by the BF and COD stuff

    • +5

      What's so funny?

      • +5

        LOL

        • I still haven't finished PS4 games LOL especially the Last of US2, better get back at it.

          • +3

@sqheaven: There's a PS5 free update for it so it runs 60 fps. Better off playing TLOU 2 on the PS5.

      • +3

That video is a year old. Get updated.

        • -8

          And it's still relevant.

          • @Jamiea: don't care about the trolling, only factuality - the PS5 has more exclusive games than XBOX X series. XBOX X series 'better' at backwards compatibility and enhancing older games.

    • +3

Ghost of Tsushima , gives heavy Tenchu Vibes. Graphics are amazing and so is the fighting. If you don't know what a Mongol is you will after playing this game. Very Dense and takes quite a long time to complete everything even the main story.

      And

It takes two (PS4 title with free upgrade to PS5) - it requires 2 players but by far it genuinely the most fun game i have played in a long time , it can feel a little repetitive in-between boss fights as its mostly puzzle solving but its very rewarding.

Additional important mentions (as most games played on the PS5 are still PS4 titles at this point in time with only a handful upgraded to PS5)

      Red Dead Redemption 2
      The Outer Worlds
      Gran Turismo Sport

I can't recommend Returnal , the level of skill and patience required to complete the game will completely frustrate only but the hardcore gamers and will promptly require you try and on-sell it or swap it. Same goes for Demon-Souls and Sekiro (no offense to people who enjoy these types of challenging games)

At the end of the day everyone tastes will be different but you cant go past my first 2 recommendations.

      • +1

All of those are ps4 games. Cheaper to pick up a ps4.
