        You know, the common sense places to get medical advice. It turns out randoms on the internet, whether OzBargain or YouTube, are a terrible source of medical information.

    wow some of these commenters make me fume, but I also got great laughs out of others.
    Also honestly glad there are more sane people in the community to help keep the peace.

    Really though, I don't see why there needs to be so much ruckus. If a disease is rampaging and we aren't in lockdown, there might be a high chance I'll catch it. Vaccines are never 100% safe and that's understandable. I'd rather take that chance though, than quite likely contracting the actual disease and getting sick with worse symptoms from it?
    Worst case scenario is I die, either from the tiny chance of a blood clot, or the small chance the disease itself takes me down.

    If people have to argue both are bad, then I'll take the lesser 'evil', it's as easy as that.
    Or, maybe I'm over simplifying things…

      You don't see it here but about 1 in 10 fear needles .
      Including this brave heart who fought the fears during my first jab .
      During the 15 mins observation I was taken to a lie down bed booth because I looked like a white ghost .

        Did the free beer ever get properly allowed? Last I heard it was ScumMo making noise, but it was illegal to offer that incentive.

        Besides, getting vaccinated has many benefits, but it may not stop you getting COVID and passing it on to others — it almost certainly reduces risk of serious illness, hospitalization and death, but it doesn't eliminate all risks.

    This really has brought out the crazy in the Ozbargain community. These deals are going to become more common. ​

    Even if you're anti-vax or can't get the vaccine, you should appreciate these offers as they'll get us back to normal sooner than your freedumb protests.

    I'm not interested in a newsletter but will upvote for the initiative.

    under 40, can't even if get vaccinated if I wanted to, only place that has an available booking available is almost an hour's drive away. At this point I would consider a black market option

    I don't really see any issue with this post, I'm sure op has only the best intentions in doing this and I can't see how this will cause serious harm. Curious about all the attention this has generated tho.
    I am not anti or pro vax, I'm just a curious person trying to understand the controversy around this, and why people are becoming so hostile over another person's decision.

    We all know vaccination improves how well you tolerate covid. Considering the vaccinated can still be carriers though, I don't understand why there is so much concern about other people's choice in getting the vaccine. Nobody can deny the chance of an adverse reaction, even if slim. I have had all my other vaccinations, and have reacted quite badly to some which has given me reason to be concerned about the novelty of these vaccines. They have not gone through the usual long and exhaustive process for determining their safety that all other vaccines and drugs adhere to via FDA. I don't see how it's unreasonable for some people to have concern. Everyone has a right to decide what they do with their body.

    Vaccine also isn't the only way to tackle this. People could be supplementing zinc, vitamin d, eating healthy + exercising to boost their immune system. Same with ivermectin, which has plenty of reputable studies demonstrating its effectiveness as a prophylactic. Don't see many people talking about this though, which is slightly concerning.

    We're all in this together; regardless of whether you agree or disagree with someone, it is unnecessary to condemn, berate or demean them for their choices. If you feel I am misunderstanding something, I won't deny the possibility, and would appreciate any insights if that is the case. Thanks op for the free stuff, and stay safe everyone x

      Vaccinated are much less likely to be "carriers" and spread it, which is the other part of the equation.

      Not completely unlikely, which is why some still worry about the unvaccinated.

      I think the OP's post is fair too, as if yours. We only do what we think is foremost in our best interests, even if we say it's for society.

      It is however nearly worth posting a deal aimed at the non-vaccinated and see how long it stays up for though.

      I thought ivermectin had been largely written off? It Had some initial positive studies that have since been questioned. One major meta analysis concluded it did nothing for covid.

      Latest mainstream advice is that vaccination is still the best source of protection. Though I do understand some people hesitancy regarding these vaccinations.

        Initial in vitro studies seemed promising, the meta analyses did seem to indicate otherwise though, or at the very least that further studies need to be done to demonstrate its efficacy. Since then a large scale peer reviewed study has been released that demonstrates very promising results.

        Vaccination is still of course the most readily available form of protection against covid. For those not wanting a vaccine, and for those concerned about people not getting a vaccine, this seems like a reasonable option to satisfy both parties (from my perspective at least).
