  • PLE also have this if you have one nearby for pick up

    • Don't they have it going for $969? Or did they change it?

    • Not allowing you to order at the moment. Although PLE shows free shipping for me on this card (in 3032)

      • Yeah they must have stopped orders. Damn

        • Jeez already, damn a lot of people must of had eyes on that page for a while.

      • +10

For a moment there I thought you were making a joke and suggesting you'd have to wait until the year 3032 to receive it…

  • Any 3060ti with 3 fans? I am more interested in the 3 fans

    • +2

I didn't see any good deals for 3 fan ones on their website. All 3 fan GPUs are 1k+

    • If you are more into overclocking. I am also interested in beefier GPUs though I saw a video comparing a mini to a full size one and apparently there were like 1-4% difference on average without overclocking.

    • Found one for $999. May want to double check availability. But you can order online now.

      Inno3D NVIDIA, RTX 3060 Ti LHR, iChill X3 RED, 1725MHz, 8GB GDDR6, 3xDP, 1xHDMI, ATX, 3xFans, 650W, 3 Years Warranty

      • +2

Rosman will make you wait 6 weeks while they try to get stock and then they will offer you a refund.

If you want to cancel the order and get a refund before the 6 weeks is up they will charge you a 15% cancellation fee, for a product they never even had in stock.

        • 15% lol. That’s ridiculous. Thanks for the heads up. I was contemplating it.

  • +4

    That's one cute video card!

  • Is this better than the Sapphire RX 6600 XT at $639 price/performance wise? Have preordered the other one but I’m not sure if I should go with this one instead.

    • +6

      On average a 3060Ti is 14% faster @ 1080p and 22% faster @ 1440p (not including RT/DLSS), and costs 34% more if you're comparing $859 vs $639

    • +1

I'm in the same boat as you, but you're effectively paying $220 extra for about 13% performance gain (without DLSS) and receiving it about 2 weeks earlier. I don't think the performance gain is justified by the extra $220. I'm a 1080p gamer though and also waiting for my RAM to arrive (late august/early sept) so can't boot my rig until that happens anyway. $150 I think would be a lot but acceptable for performance increase + DLSS…again, DLSS is probably not really needed if you are gaming at 1080p anyway.

      • Have you heard about super resolution? Use that with dlss, enjoy super crisp 1080p

    • +8

In a pure $ per frame, no question the 6600 XT is better.

I think it more comes down to what setting you want and what resolution monitor you have.

For me, targeting 60+ frames, I would recommend:

1080P Any settings - Get the 6600 XT, anything more is overkill.

1440P Med settings - 6600 XT will be fine currently. Maybe not long term, but what is.

      1440P High-Ultra - get the 3060 Ti or 6700 XT.

      Ultra wide 1440P Med-High - or 4K Low-Med - 3060 Ti or 6700 XT

      4K Med-High - 3070 Ti or 3070

      4K High-Ultra - 6800 XT or 3080 or 3090

      • +1

        unless you're interested in raytracing.
The 6600 XT falls inbetween the 2060 and 2060 super for raytracing performance :(

        • Yeah true.

But TBH I don’t know if having nice reflections is really worth the performance hit unless you have a lot of performance headroom. Or DLSS or FSR to make up the hit.

          • +1

@blackfalcon53: IMO it isn't. I had a 2060 until it blew and thought it was neat but never bothered. It was never worth the performance hit and, much like shadows, I turned the setting off or as low as it can go. Now I'm back on my 1070 and waiting to get something but they keep selling out before I hear about it!

            • @Cyphar: Yeah that makes sense.

All the RT review videos I have watched (having a 5700 XT I haven’t had them), you can tell the difference but it’s not massive.

But I deff notice the difference between 30 and 60 fps.

      • I use super resolution with dlss to make super crisp 1080p

      • Pretty much spot on but I would never get an 8gb card for 4k.

    • +1

Depends what you want to play at. 1080p? Go the 6600xt and save some cash. Want 1440p, even some DLSS to 4K? Get the 3060ti. Because the price/performance gets messy when you think about what it's like gaming in the real world.

IMO the difference between 52fps and 59fps in a game like Assassins Creed at 1440p is noticeable, even though it's only an 13% difference in speed, extra frames at that point are worth a lot.

If you take a game the 6600xt performs particularly badly in, like Control, it can still do well over 60fps at 1080p. But it's hitting unplayable in some games at 1440p while there's not much out there the 3060ti won't hit an average of at least 50fps at 1440p (except cyberpunk with RT and no DLSS maybe).

That said, you can always get a 6600xt to hold you over until the 6800xt/3080 comes down in price and mine in the meantime. Especially if you're prepared not to run everything on the highest quality all the time at your chosen resolution.

  • +2

    Good deal. Picked up one.

In light of LHR bypassed partially… These cards will not last long at this price.

    • Yeah exactly, I was watching this card for a while may not be a good price but its decent for me and I needed a GPU so yeah. Definitely the price wont stay.

  • Good alternative for people who want the extra Ray Tracing grunt or DLSS support over a RX6600XT, albeit at quite a price premium… Would also be stronger as the resolution increases, and in memory limited situations as despite having the same 8GB amount of VRAM, it has 75% more memory bandwidth which he's massively when it is the bottleneck.

  • I have the Asus 3060ti dual fan (non mini) and it's great
Not sure what differences between the two are though

    • They are pretty much the same. The only difference is the overclocking capability and cooling. Cooling is not a huge problem as shown in tests

  • What’s the difference between mini and the full size one? Is it just an extra fan?

    • Full size one probably has more performance hence 3 fans and all that.

    • The smaller ones I've noticed are generally based on NVIDIA reference pcb design.
The PCB is cram packed with components and a tell tail sign is the fan cutout fan NVIDIA's flow through heatsink!

The larger ones are generally the manufacturer's own design.
All that means is they generally have beefier power design and can handle a bit more of an overclock/boost.
The PCB is more traditional looking with a line of power stages on it.

What ultimately dictates the end result you get is the luck of your draw of the chip, the cooler design and firmware limits.
The beefier power design helps to some degree.

  • Picked one up, been waiting months for a decent deal, this is ok and can spread the hurt over 4 payments with Klarna, so for me i pulled the trigger hoping id get one next week.

  • Yep f-it. I have a hard to find mini ITX 1070 which will take the string off this when I sell it. This card should do me for a few years.

  • Is there a way to remove an accidently made report on ozb post? :(

  • Keen to get other people's thoughts on x3 fan models. Is the $130 odd premium for these models warranted over the x2 models such as this ASUS Mini? A x3 model example being Inno3D here for $999 also on PCCG (OOS though): https://www.pccasegear.com/products/54934/inno3d-geforce-rtx…

The best example of the x3 fan model would be this Gigabyte here for $1,086: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/641997 This goes into 3070 money however, so unless the performance uplift is significant versus x2 models then I'd think that going with a base model 3060 ti like this ASUS would be the way to go.

    • +1

depends on a few things.. mainly if you're planning to overclock i'd say.
power + cooling determines your max performance. the min power for these cards is 200w.. for some this is also the max, but some go up to 250w.
if you get a card with a 250w, you're gonna generate more heat, so 3 fans would be better.

another consideration is case space.. the 3 fan cards are monsters. if you have a mATX case, they probably won't fit.

      • Thanks madman. I've got a full sized desktop (https://www.thermaltake.com.au/view-31-tempered-glass-argb-e…) case, so it sounds like a 3 fan model with 240w is worth looking at… assuming that it doesn't come at a steep premium. I'll have to look into the performance % difference between 200w - 250w models to properly make an informed decision however.

I just sold an RX 570 for $300 that was gathering dust and a 1660 for $470 that was in a pc I bought for $350 complete. Got $770 in free money sitting there and this is mighty tempting…

  • +6

God it feels like groundhog day. Every day I check OzBargain and it's a preorder 3060 Ti mini for exactly $859.

      I got some bad news:

      https://hothardware.com/news/restore-geforce-rtx-30-lhr-cryp…

Nobody has been able to fully get around the hash rate limiter NVIDIA implemented on its GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards, though the developer of NBMiner has figured out a way to restore some of the performance. And with the latest NBMiner update, the developer is claiming their software can restore up to 70 percent of the maximum unlocked hash rate.

This is good news for miners, and obviously bad news for gamers who are frustrated at the lack of GPUs that are available for anywhere close to MSRP. To be fair, the shortage is not entirely the fault of GPU mining, though it has definitely contributed to some extent. Things could ease in the coming months too, though, between China's crackdown on cryptocurrency, and Ethereum's planned switch to a proof-of-stake model.

Hopefully this doesn't cause another shortage of GPU's even for LHR models.

      • LHR cards already earn 80%+ on other coin when compared with FHR models on Ethereum.

The only reason normal people can still buy in at this price is because of the strict limit of 1 per person from pccg

you could easily resell them for $900-$950 immediately if you wish

      • Bitcoin back up to 65k so there is no hope

  • +4

I went and got it, cant be bothered looking for GPU sales all the time on OzB.
If one did go on sale, I'd probably miss out anyway.
Upgrading from a GTX 980, so any card for me would be significant.

    • +4

Decent buy in the current market and given the latest news will probably look like an even better buy in a month's time.

  • +8

    holding out for 3080 $1200 ;)

  • +1

Hopefully other stores will follow suit

  • Great deal for this card, can someone explain to me why a 3070 LHR is still around the $1300-1600 mark. Doesn't compute in my brain when this card is so reasonably priced and within 3070 performance range.

    • I think part of it is just milking it because of mining and I believe there was a parts shortage. As for LHR, that only affects Ethereum… which is still the best to mine overall, but there is still plenty of Crypto that can be mined with max hash rate.

  • PCCG has the OC version of this card @ $1,299.

    https://www.pccasegear.com/products/54740/asus-geforce-rtx-3…

I don't expect the GPU price will drop this year since NV gonna lift the hashrate limit once the price starts to drop. Unless mining is not profitable anymore, the situation wont change too much.

    Delayed due to weather?

    • Was originally due 16/8, revised to 20/8, now to 3/9.

      • Yeah just got that as well. Why do they keep re-opening stock when they have no idea if/when they are getting any?

        • Just got the delayed due to "extreme weather" email as well. ETA = 03/09/21.
I'm guessing people are cancelling their orders, so a spot opens up from their allocated amount.

      • Just shipped - guess the weather cleared up :D

        • Damn I haven't got the email yet :(

        • Yeah plot twist. Can't wait.

  • +1

Delay in shipment could Possibly be due to the bad weather in Japan link here: https://www.worldcourier.com/insights/world-courier-operatio…

Or alternatively covid struck the China port and it's still closed last updated yesterday : https://www.nsa.com/ningbo-meidong-closures/

  • I ordered the exact model from Scorptec on the 8th, today I received an email about them not being able to fulfil my pre-order and offered me a different alternative graphics card: https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/graphics-cards/nvidia/90…

Can anyone confirm if this is a better deal. I know there is higher overclocking and cooling potential, but I think that is it.

    • Yeah got the same email. Roughly speaking they're on par. An extra 15-20 mhz isn't going to make a huge difference. What is interesting is that on Scorptec's site says the Asus dual mini is still in stock and is about $150 more expensive than the Zotac.

      • Yeah I thought the same so I emailed them to accept either the galax or the zotac. But they've been radio silent, you guys heard anything from them?

        • +1

Email doesn't work. You need to respond to messages on the order in your account. I took the zotac and they cancelled the Asus.

    • I also ordered this card from scorptec, on 6th Aug. Havent received any emails yet so hopefully still getting it (ETA on order says 19/8)

I feel like they left that deal up on their website long after they sold out.

      • I also ordered this card from scorptec but my ETA says 18/8 and I haven't received any updates. Can you let me know if you receive any updates on your order? edit: it just changed to "Awaiting Stock Availability".

        • Mine still says "ETA: 19-08-2021"

Messaged them a few hours ago asking if it was available for collection yet but i havent had a reply…

          • @BigKahunaBurger: They just sent me an email : "Apologies for the delay with your order. Upon checking with our Purchasing Department, there's just a delay of the stocks coming into the country but it's already on the way, most probably will get to us around the end of next week or the following week."

            • @[Deactivated]: Sigh, looks like more waiting then. I still havent received any notification about whats happening, they havent responded to any of my messages on the order page and i just tried calling the store id arranged to collect it from and can't get through to anyone. Some pretty poor customer service all round.

              • @BigKahunaBurger: Same situation here, @BigKahunaBurger, is your Auburn, Sydney?

                • @Rician distribution: nah clayton in melb. i finally got an email today which said the following:

"Unfortunately, the supplier has not given us an updated ETA on when the product will be available again. We have a dedicated team working on all orders like yours, as these cards were extremely popular. Due to the amount of orders they have to work through, response are slow, but they should eventually get in touch with you to offer an alternative or other solution to your order.
Please keep in mind that until you have collected your order, you are entitled to a full refund."

Might wait a few days and see what happens. Its not like theres any better deals going atm for 3060ti's anyway.

                  • @BigKahunaBurger: Ah ok, cheers mate for the contents of the email. I will try to keep this threat posted if I get anything too. Best of luck to all of us.

  • +1

    Got a shipping notice … 😁

    • Sad I think they forgot about mine lols

    • Came here to say the same. w00t!

      • Yeah got my shipping notice too

  • Finally received my shipping notice just now. It is earlier than the proposed stock arrival date in their previous email.

  • Got mine today.

    • +1

Nice enjoy! Its honestly a game changer.
