Similarl model for $1749 at PLE for those who don't want to use Afterpay.

    • +1

Agreed, your link was the next cheapest I could find. 👍

    • +1

This is a particularly great model too.

      • Pretty average model actually, hardly OCD at all
Isn't 3080 same price now, even though I have 6800xt if at same price 3080 is a better choice

        • +1

3080's still on average around $2400. Can find a few lower tier 3080's at similiar prices to 6800xt's, but those have shit cooling.

          • +1

@WatchSnob: There's 3080TIs easily available for that much. PLE has EVGA FTW3 for 2299.

            • @twister292: There is not a single evga 3080 Ti available at PLE, they're all out of stock. Average price for what's available is 2.7-2.8 on various sites, average price for 3080's is around 2.4. Then there's shit tier ones you can get under 2k.

          • @WatchSnob: I pre ordered my zotac trinity 3080 LHR for $1759
It arrived a couple days ago
Decent card, not too bad in terms of cooling

              • +4

@amerh: Wow, idiots like you (poor man's miners) are the reason for price increase, not a poor gamer that wants to get a decent prices gpu

                • -5

@botchie: Wow buying 1 3080 makes me an evil miner lol grow up

                  • +1

@amerh: no, i didn't say that, I said ppl like you - that only have one card to mine from and game on side are the reason for price increases as you will pay $2k for a card, make some crap "money" that to you justifies paying over rrp for it thus pushing prices up - NOT a gamer that wants to buy a good GPU to play on

        • Err, no. It's a great model.

          https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uVCt_BdseFU

Not sure where you get average from.

          • +1

@Oxxy: thanks for that just picked one up should be a huge upgrade for me still rocking a gtx970 lmao.

        • +2

If its purely for gaming, the 6800XT is a better choice if not mining on the side or using RT. For rasterisation the AMD cards seem to provide a strong offering often matching and beating the NVIDIA.

        • You mean like due to thermal limitations or just your chip's quality? Because that varies drastically from card to card.

          • @Void: no, the card is fine just for the $$ you would want the clock speeds to be higher , you can probably OC it yourself but comparing to other models its close to stock speed, not saying the card is bad by any mean, didnt meant it to sound like that

    • +5

I found this 6800 for $1350 the other day, but it's probably not in stock. Worth a check though.

      • +9

that is the best site ive ever seen

        • +1

Haha it's great isn't it, like a trip back to the early 2000's.

Legit store though according to this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/643445

        • +3

I like how if you browse under video cards, the AMD cards come under the heading ATI.

AMD (who acquired ATI) haven't branded the cards ATI for over a decade - retro as!

Any good deals on a 6700XT? I have a hardly used 5700XT, was hoping to sell it off and buy a 6700XT.

    • +1

The best we have right now is the QICK 319 for $1079 at PLE. Just yesterday they had ex-demos of that model for $971, so I'd keep an eye out.

    • +2

I purchased an ASRock RX 6700xt at PC-Byte this Tuesday for $999 in a bundle with a free Coolermaster 550w PSU.
      https://www.pcbyte.com.au/p/rx6700psu-bundle-asrock-rx-6700-…

I was just browsing and found at first the GPU at the same price and had it already in the cart but then checked the sales corner and they also had the bundle with the PSU… I actually have no use for the PSU but will sell it to save even more.

They have since increased the price for the card alone from $999 to $1099 which is this not bad. You can ask if they want to price match their own bundle :)

      • Damn ,missed it, I would have got that.

  • tempted to just bite and grab this. Last component ive needed for my new build has been a GPU for the past 2 months -_-
wondering what the big diff between this and other party 6900xt's is…ive used this site comparing it to 2 6900xts and i can only see minimal diff: https://pangoly.com/en/compare/vga/7f32dbbd-6d5a-eb11-8292-1…

    • +1

I was in the same boat, just needing a GPU to finish my new build. Bit the bullet & bought the ex-demo Merc 6800XT for $1570 I found in the low quantity forum here on Thursday…after checking some frame rate videos & of course, Harware Unboxed.
Looks like the 6900XT was designed as a competitor to the RTX3090, which makes it a little faster than the this card, but they're suited more to professional work, than gamers.

    • +1

there is a minimal difference between the two unless to plan to do extreme overclocking and that limited to the special overclocking versions of the 6900xt as they have a 3ghz cap. Also is much cheaper than any 6900xt at the moment and it is unlikely that they will drop in price.

      • +2

        it's only $200 difference now, saw a post on 6900xt at $1899
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/646068

would 6900XT be a better choice at this price?

        • thanks for the replies guys :)

@wqt0806 im pondering this aswell. I think besides OC potential and the hole in your wallet there's not much diff ;)

        • +3

that $200 difference would be between a premium 6800xt vs a basic 6900xt. both would be equivalent in performance but the 6900xt is more likely the better buy. I still bought this though cause I had ebay vouchers to use and prefer the lower noise but for others the 6900xt is the better buy.

        • Without a doubt.

  • What's the quickest way to get afterpay spending limit up? Only used it a couple times but it's capping my max spend at 1.5k, when my cards on average have a 50-60k limit… Trying to figure out a way to qualify for this coupon.

    • you can spend more than the limit, the extra is just added on to the first up front payment, if that's your problem

      • Hmm is there a workaround? I just see 'Sorry, your order amount is too high.
        You can spend up to:
        $1,500.00 AUD
Visit this link to find out more information.
        Back to store'

        • weird, I was able to buy a $730 5900x on ebay with a $600 limit right after signing up, so dunno

        • Seems to be random
          https://help.afterpay.com/hc/en-au/articles/360030314532-Why…

it sucks cause i wanted to use klarna or zip pay to buy my graphics card early. but zip pay only lets you pay 500 more than your limit and klarna doesnt even let you spend your own money in conjunction with theirs. and after pay wont disclose how much of your own money you can spend. If afterpay let me know they might of had another customer/signup today.

the only way round this is for instores split payments. I wish websites allowed you to split the payments between 2 cards.

A few creative solutions I DO NOT recommend.
          1. a friend that is going to buy somthing that is close to your limit and they give you the cash for you to buy it for them on after pay.
2.is buying gift cards for the electronic store (as that will affect how your refund is received if somthing goes wrong and thats if the purchase even goes through)

  • Would be nice if you included whether it was gaming z/x

    • Done!

  • -5

compare to the $1899 RX 6900XT Deal, this is not good value

    • +1

How's that deal going right now?
