Bullshit, so many people who paid later than I did, they get the router but I don't.

    • did urs get canceled or is it still stuck on processing?

      • It was cancelled on the same day I placed the order.

  • Mine arrived. YAY

  • wow what shit! people that ordered after me getting it :(

Need to drown my sorrows with my 99 burger coupons

  • Mine got delivered today. Now to see if i can bridge this sucker to my existing wireless network

  • +1

Three of us tried to get the router (and checked out all within 10 minutes of each other). The last one to do so had their order cancelled shortly afterwards, the first had theirs cancelled after a few days, the middle received the router. Go figure.

  • FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU!

    Here we go…. :(

"Thank you very much for sending us your application for the Linksys cash-back Promotion. In order to help us validate your claim, please submit a valid UPC code.

The correct code is located on the box of your product and consists of 12 digits. "

    Mine only has 11 digits

    • Same issue,
I expect the UPC will be the same for all of us,
so could someone post the right one.

      Edit
Looking at what I filled in (Don't have the box at office)
and looking online, it seems it would be something like
      74588359XXXX

      • Yeh mine started with a 7 also. They better not try and pull anything on us… if they do we should form a joint complaint.

      • OK, looks like this should be it
        http://www.upcdatabase.com/item/745883593729
        can others please confirm?

      • confirmed - have the box here
        745883593729

      • Nice work guys cheers

    • oops.. looks like I missed the last 9 =D

What a rubbish company! Start deal earlier! Cancel orders in random/doesn't do first in first serve! Never answer questions! A company like this should close down!!!

  • Is it just me or does this promo seem a bit dodgy?
Submitting my claim online there's a part that says:
Please tick this box if you are happy for Cisco Consumer Products Pte. - no box that can be ticked.
    After submitting my claim:
For online submissions you can check the status of your claim here - so I click "here" only to find I need a username and password - which I was never asked to create in the first place!?

    • A few hours after lodgement, they will email you a computer generated username & password.
There was no separate Marketing box. By ticking the box to accept T&Cs, you also accepted the Marketing stuff (hopefully we can unsubscribe later!).

  • "I am happy to confirm that your claim for the promotion has now been approved and that you will receive payment within the next 60 days."

    • just received the same email from cisco.

  • I'm so jealous, good luck those who got the router.

    • Sometimes you win, most of the times you loose. P!ssed with the way MWave handled the Rush Hour.

  • I have since received a response back from the ACCC.

My complaint "has been recorded and will be used in monitoring whether there is a pattern of conduct by Mwave which may raise concerns and will be used to inform the ACCC’s compliance and enforcement activities"

They then go on to say that:

"Whilst individual complaints also form the basis of investigations, it must be noted that the ACCC does not comment on matters we may or may not be investigating and the ACCC is unable to provide you with further information of any action we may or may not be taking in relation to your complaint"

Not sure if this is the resolution we are looking for…

      Hey Johnathonb,

Good to know that the ACCC have atleast responded to the complaint - I am still waiting to hear from them. I have a feeling that I might just receive the same response as you. But hopefully when you go through all their emails complaining about Mwave, they might consider taking an action.

On another note, I also wrote to Mwave about writing to the ACCC, and as usual they showed their "who-cares" attitude by responding "We wish you all the best in your endeavors"…
  • Received the wireless router and submitted cashback claim. All happy. I used this as my main wireless access point, and turned off wireless on my Billion ADSL2+ adsl modem/router. It has much better speed and coverage throughout the house - very pleased.

I've hooked it up by creating another subnet, versus putting my adsl/router into bridged mode for the time being. Not sure which one's better.

    • It is better to set it as bridge mode.
Setting subnet from a router to another router will slow down your network, but you gain nothing from it. (It will increase package size for EVERY PACKAGE, increase at least four meaningless processes done by the modem router to EVERY PACKAGE - receive, unpack, repack, sent to router)
You will only gain something if you need to use other ports from your modem router.

I have a Dynalink rta1025w modem router in my house, but it often overheat and hangs (about 4 times everyday). I have set it to bridge mode, and the network works fine for 4 days without a single error.

I am waiting ddwrt support for the router.

I came across a simpler solution for what I wanted, which was simply to use the Linksys for its Wireless capabilities only, while leaving all my ADSL router config (PPOoE/firewall/VoIP) as-is. Essentially make the Linksys like a hub only with a wireless access point.

Linksys - There should be no cable connected on the WLAN port. Connect the Linksys from one LAN port to any LAN port on your existing ADSL router. Turn off DHCP, firewall functionality on the Linksys. For Linksys config, just leave the WLAN config as auto. For its router IP (internal IP) just assign it an IP from your existing network, with gateway/DNS as your ADSL router. Of course enable the wireless network (hard part was finding a good channel to use)

ADSL router - Simply turn off the wireless to avoid having two wireless networks active. All DHCP requests will still be served by your ADSL router.

Works flawlessly and litte/no packet overhead.

All I have received is a whackload of MWave ads to my email address set up for the purpose… and a heap of spam also..

    • +1

I havent recieved anything, maybe there was a box you didnt uncheck.

  • Received mine a couple of days ago. EASILY THE WORST ROUTER I HAVE EVER USED!!! Not worth the $3.75 I paid for it. Stock firmware is buggy as, upgraded is only mildly better. And ever since I've connected it I keep having to restart the ADSL modem multiple times a day :(

    • Why don't you sell it off eBay and make a profit.

  • I thought this was supposed to have Bridge Mode, but under "Internet Connection Type" I don't have that listed…anyone else the same?

    • +1

Mine one have Bridge Mode in Internet Connection Type
(Updated firmware to Ver.v1.0.03 (Build 14))

      • Ah cheers mate…mine is not on the latest firmware…will update tonight ;)

  • I received the following response from the ACCC, I am writing another email to them explaining why do we think Mwave's recent conduct surely warrants ACCC intervention… Anyway here is the excerpt from the email :

"As such a refund may prove to be sufficient reparation unless you have suffered some form of additional consequential loss as a result of the breach.

Your complaint has been recorded by the ACCC and will be used in monitoring whether there is a level of conduct by Mwave or a pattern within the internet retailing industry which may raise concerns sufficient to warrant intervention by the ACCC.

Whilst individual complaints also form the basis of investigations, it must be noted that the ACCC does not comment on matters we may or may not be investigating and the ACCC is unable to provide you with further information of any action we may or may not be taking in relation to your complaint. Please also note that the ACCC will only contact you again in relation to your complaint if we require further information or evidence to assist in our enquiries."

    • I guess the director of MWave is ACCC's big boss's daughter/son or secret lover. That's why MWave doesnt care customers, and never worry about complaint.

  • I am going ACCC now. no matter if it works or not. I will complain. this is unacceptable.

  • I don't know how I missed this deal. I didn't even see it and I visit this site almost second. wow/

    • You didn't miss much!

    • The main thing is you did not waste 1 hour of your life for nothing.

  • Got my cashback today as well.

    • I havent got mine. I logged in to the cashback page. It says 'Invalid UPC' dammit. I might have to give them a call tomorrow when I have the box with me

  • The UPC is 12 digits long and should be 745883593729 as posted above (don't forget the 7 & 9 in the lower left & right hand corners of the label):
