I will now need to source a TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND [router/bridge: @MSY: 68AUD]; which in any case, should leap over the Linksys Entrylevel.

  • Negged.
    1. YES
    2. CC
    3. No

    • Order received but negged LOL Maybe you should give your order to someone who had their order cancelled. Then it will be a win win situation for both of you.

      • That is one tough customer.

    • My order haven't been cancelled nor any quantity is allocated.

      • +1

haha..they took your money to Lidcombe for a joyride around the hood.

      • Companies must cough up on their commitments and undertakings, or be processed by the law accordingly.

  • Is anyone else's order still 'processing' ?

    No emails or anything…

    • My order is still "Processing", but I got 2 emails on Thursday — "Thank you for shopping at mwave.com.au" and "Order Update" saying payment has been received.

      • same here, 2 emails and still "processing"

      • I have previously ordered from MWave. This means that stock is being ordered from supplier and will be shipped as soon as they received it. From past experience, your order should be shipped on Monday if suplier have them on stock.

        • Nope - my order was in exactly same state and has now been cancelled this afternoon….

      • Mine still processing as well, wonder what it means … I'm too scared to raise an Enquiry or even call them just in case they think I'm being difficult and impatient and decide to cancel my order as punishment.

        • See my comment above.

  • +3

They sent the item to my friend who started ordering 10 minutes after I got my confirmation. Mine was cancelled.

    Don't Mwave know FIFO rule??

  • Hey

Where is this EAN number? I can't se any 13-digit code anywhere, neither on the box, nor on the router…
    Help please, someone?

    • There's only a 12 digit UPC on the box maybe prefix that with a 0 to make it the EAN??

      • Hmmm. I had the same idea. Did you try it? Did the claim form accept it?

        • +1

I put the 12 digit EAN in, which it did accept.

        • Woo Hoo!

          Thanks, bargain_finder.
I'll submit my claim tonight with the 12-digit EAN code.

  • Got mine delivered this morning, order submitted somewhere around 2:45PM, paid via BPay, no PTC.

  • +2

They canceled my order as well. Received order confirmation email at 2:02 PM and payment confirmation email at 5:45 PM same day. I paid via Paypal & paid for the additional priority charge they had. Not going to buy anything from them in future.

  • +1

    Very poor handling by mwave.

  • Has anyone successfully claimed the $30 cashback from Cisco?
The from requires a 13-digit EAN code, and the box only has a 12-digit one.

I have another doubt now: Maybe the boxes from mwave are not eligible for the cashback, and only the 13-digit EAN boxes purchased at full price are eligible…

  • Here is a case of Dell Australia having to honour an advertised deal. http://www.theage.com.au/news/breaking/dell-error-a-hard-bar…

"NSW Office of Fair Trading said today that Dell had a legal obligation to provide hard drives to credit card customers they had charged for the incorrectly priced hard drives."

Similar to Mwave, "The conditions of sale section of Dell's website states the company is not liable for errors on its website, but the spokesman said this was not legally binding for affected customers."

In this sense, I believe they have a legal obligation to honour all sales that were processed during the sale period. Will definitely be submitting a complaint to the ACCC and the Office of Fair Trading.

    • +1

I just submitted my complaint to the ACCC, let's see if they can help.

    • Have also lodged complaint with ACCC.

  • so, what's the most negged deal in ozbargain history?

    • +1

Would be many more negs if people could switch their votes rather than just revoking. :)

  • +1

Anyone actually gotten a refund yet? I paid through PayPal, and still waiting here.

Also, it's rather annoying that people who submitted their orders well after me (and others) were successful in getting one:

Got mine delivered this morning, order submitted somewhere around 2:45PM

My order was submitted at 2:02PM.

For the record, mine got delivered to Perth earlier today…. Proforma Invoice time of 10:16:40 PM.

My invoice time was 10:02:50PM (meaning I ordered at 2:02PM).

Looks like they randomly allocated stock, with no regard for when the item was actually purchased.

    • +2

yeah, a bit sussed. my paypal payment confirmation was timestamped 8 Mar 2012 13:59:23 AEDT

how they accepted an order at 2:45 defies belief

  • I just got this. They better refund my paypal processing fee. 45 cents for say 10,000 orders. Even if they had no intention of selling that's still a good $4.5k profit in "processing fees"

    Subject: Order Update

Dear Mwave Customer, Many thanks for placing an order for the Linksys E1500 as advertised with limited stock for the Rush Hour promotion. As you are aware this promotion directed an influx of customers to our website and there were some delays in processing your orders. We would like to confirm that we are unable to fulfill your order for the Linksys E1500 as all of our stock was sold prior to us receiving your order. For payments made via PayPal; please note that we will refund your money within 1-3 business days. Please accept our sincerest apologies and we hope to bring you another fantastic Rush Hour soon.

    • Just got the same email :(
      BASTARDS!

    • +2

I just lodged a formal complaint to the ACCC. Also wrote the same email to Today Tonight asking for help deal with these quacks !

Suggest you guys do the same.

    • +1

Same here, been played like a fool.

    • They better refund my paypal processing fee

i was refunded the full amount ($30.45)

  • Any one else in my situation?

    -Email confirmation of order 8/3
-Email saying sorry that they could not fulfil the order and that they want to refund me 9/3
-Email asking for details for refund 12/3 (8:57am)
-Email saying dispatched with tracking number 12/3 (6:27pm)

I am yet to respond… not really sure what to do right now?

    • Yes i got dispatch confirmation from aae just today. I havent provided my refund details since i've been busy ^_^ I think I will expect the item to arrive tomorrow :)

      • In the same boat here…

      • My wife told me I got a parcel from mwave this morning. Box has not been opened though.. And I got a dispatch confirmation from mwave in the email. There is a ticket open about my refund though.. should I just put my refund details :)

    • Received AAE dispatched email yesterday. Anticipation increasing.

It seems that mwave have miraculously restocked the E1500 on their website! The stock with suppliers and at mwave now says YES! So does that mean all of us with "still processing" will get one of these?

    http://www.mwave.com.au/sku-46040506-Linksys_E1500_Wireless-N_Router_with_SpeedBoost_-IEEE802_11_b_g_n-300Mbps-_4

So they canceled a whole bunch of orders and then restock a couple of days later - thats really poor form! Someone should do a Kony like social media campaign to bring these guys down!

    • +2

Now I have to agree this is really dodgy! It's acceptable if they restock it a month later but just a day after all the orders were canceled is totally unacceptable.

      • +1

Now I have to agree this is really dodgy

        +1
how can we demand them to send us 1 as most of us got the cancelled email

    • Restocked for another Rush Hour on Thursday perhaps? Mixed emotions :-) :-( >_<

    • just foudn out mwave are in violation of Paypal's Acceptable Use Policy
      https://cms.paypal.com/au/cgi-bin/?cmd=_render-content&conte…

for the 1.5% surcharge on paypal transaction through mwave.com.au

Clause: Merchants may not charge a fee to the buyer for accepting credit card payments (often called a 'surcharge')."A surcharge may not be imposed or any other fee for accepting PayPal as a payment method. A handling fee may be charged in connection with the sale of goods or services, as long as the handling fee does not operate as a surcharge and is not higher than the handling fee charged for non-PayPal transactions.

      • welcome to 2 days ago!…i can let you know the lotto numbers for that night!

IE This has already been discussed!
probably best to read… if not ctrl+F before you bring such ground breaking news!

    • It looks like that product has now been removed from their site today

  • My order has been shipped - it was in my cart at 2:05 or so and paid by Paypal at around 3PM

  • Awesome!!, just received my router, had in my cart at 235pm, paid for it at 454pm (paypal) even though status said its on backorder, got an email saying outstanding order, then last night received an email from AAP, and this am from mwave saying dispatched, win some lose some ;)

    • what was your payment method? I'm wondering if they just did a bulk refund for all orders via paypal? Probably a bit hard to reverse if you paid via bpay or whatever other payment methods they have.

      • I paid by paypal a total of 30.45, it seems to me like it was luck of the draw

    • Looks like more of a Lucky Draw Hour rather than Rush Hour.

  • I asked them to honour my order since they got stock now but they said no as there is no stock in Australia?!?

If there is no stock in Australia why is it listed on their site again…

    • I guess to earn interest on your payment?

    • OK so no stock, then why is there some of us that still have "processing" on our order. I'm not sure which is worse, having the order canceled or having the order stuck in "processing" with no indication or when it will be fulfilled and whilst they keep your money … surely this can't be legal!

  • I have to give this bargain a positive vote despite all the complaints.

Placed order at 3:18 pm, well after the window closed, but Mwave still honoured the order.
Order confirmed 4:53 pm, paid with PayPal, and was kept in the loop at all stages.
Notification of AAE shipment yesterday (even though it was the Labour Day public holiday), and the item arrived today. Now all I have to do is successfully get the cashback.

    • +2

"Placed order at 3:18 pm, well after the window closed, but Mwave still honoured the order."

This in itself deserves a neg. Lots of people including myself placed an order at 2pm only to have our orders cancelled. Piss poor effort IMO

    • Placed order at 3:18 pm, well after the window closed, but Mwave still honoured the order.

      Rush Anytime Hour

    • I think it really is a "Rush Anytime Hour". I logged on to find the $30 at 1:56 pm, so quite well before the rush hour started. Realizing I had no account, it took me well over an hour to go through all the registration pages with the extra traffic before I was finally able to purchase after the sale had ended and stock had supposedly "sold out".

Just a heads up for those that missed out, in future, log in in advance perhaps 10 minutes before the rush hours starts and definitely register an account beforehand.

Perhaps it would be best if companies that try this sort of nonsense are BANNED from Ozbargain, so that their reps couldn't post a deal and any deal that a member posts would at least record that the company has an appalling record. I'm just one of the 10,000 or so that have had their money taken for a week or so and their time wasted. I got confirmation of my order on thursday and the "we're sorry" email yrsterday.

  • My order had been sitting at "Processing" since late thursday but got an email just now saying its been dispatched. Looks like its on its way!

    • i'm still waiting for mine, sitting as processing still…

      • ahh mine got shipped.

  • Courier just showed up and I now have a shiny new router in my hands.. now to get the cashback sorted

  • Just got 'posted' confirmation email.

  • +1

Got mine delivered, painfull process buying it with extreme slow connection(started just @ 2:00pm spent 1 hour plus to buy this router), had to untick 2.75, finally paid with BPay after 3pm, got confirmation payment has been received, requested bank details for refund(which I ignored for couple of days) and got the new router this morning….

  • Delivered today and will install tonight.
Cisco cashback submitted with confirmation printed and filed.
Thanks Aussie89 - 45 cents for a new N Router. Apart from the insane rush to get it ordered, it has worked out brilliantly

  • MY ROUTER DIED TODAY! I BLAME MWAVE!

  • I finalize my payment at the time of 2.55pm but I got my order delivered today. =)
(I did refreshing my browser since 1.55pm though.)

  • Does anyone know what EAN/UPC barcode is? How do I find it? I need it for the cashback

    • should be on the box?

  • -1

Wow you dont even need to open the box for the cashback. YOu can resell it for a bit of FREE money ;)

    • thats my plan ;)

will probably wait till the cash back finishes though, should get a higher price ;)

  • Mine said it was shipped. Yay

  • Just got the email from Aae said the item shipped

  • Received today. All good.

  • received,

    awesome

Used paypal and took off the priority transit cover.
