OzReminder for those who may not be familiar with this hack. Thank you for the original post Ulysses31. Here are some steps to setup a Turkish or Argentinian Netflix account to save $$$. Results may vary so it's best to read up, there are plenty of comments below and members happy to help. Unfortunately, it may not work for everyone so please keep that in mind.

Netflix plans

Turkey Basic $4.66 Standard $7.07 Ultra $9.49/month (Mod 15/11/21: Prices in title updated to latest exchange rate, this will vary daily.)
Argentina Basic $4.02 Standard $6.61 Ultra $9.64/month (Note: Taxes will apply)

Step 1: Please understand that following all these steps may not work for you

There is no need for aggression in instances where you are unable to subscribe to an international Netflix account. Share your experience so everyone can chip in and help out. There are plenty of examples where hacks shared on this platform do not work for some people, but may work for others:
* Modem reset for faster internet,
* Cash back program purchase tracking,
* Price matching an unobtainable deal or price error,
* Targeted bargains, and
* Limited quantity items quickly or instant (bot) sellout.
Similarly we know there are cash back users who follow every single step for cash back (turn off ad blocker, have no items in cart, do not click other links, etc.) on their purchases and it does not work, its probably best to move on.There are many users who successfully use this hack and enjoy paying half the price of the Australian membership. Unfortunately there are also many users who have been unable to sign up to Netflix Turkey or Argentina. After all it is intended for people who reside in Turkey or Argentina. If it does not work, I am not affiliated with any of the entities listed below or linked to and cannot guarantee any outcome. I can only read comments on this platform and others to share them with you. Your patience is appreciated. Please do not take it personally.

Step 2: Obtain a Turkish or Argentinian VPN

Express VPN
PureVPN
Torguard
VyprVPN
Windscribe

Step 3: Confirm Turkish/Argentinian IP

IP Check

Step 4: Sign Up to Netflix

In a private-browsing tab open Netflix

Step 5: Enter Card Details

Possibly working: 28 Degrees, ANZ Rewards, Citibank Debit, Macquarie
Mixed reports: CBA, ING

FAQs

Q My bank blocked my payment, what do I do?
A Some banks block 1st attempt and then text to confirm it's you. Once you reply, 2nd attempt may work.

Q Where can I purchase a Turkish Netflix gift card?
A Others have had success purchasing Turkish Netflix gift cards (for a premium) or using Transfer Wise.

Q I have an existing Netflix subscription, can I use the same email?
A You can try! Visit Netflix website and cancel your subscription ASAP. It will expire at the end of the billing period. Then follow Step 1-5.

Q I thought it would cost $4.66 but I was billed for $5.00.
A Please note that changes in the foreign exchange rate will impact the subscription fee. Happy to update.

Q How do I enter an international mobile number?
A Ignore any requests for a mobile, open Netflix in a new tab and confirm account is working. If you must, there are a couple of resources for codes being sent to an international mobile number. Please note that these services may not work since others may have used the numbers for verification codes from Netflix SMS Codes PVA Codes SMS-Activate SMS Approval.

Q Do I need to use a VPN every time I access Netflix?
A No, VPN is only required for sign up. After sign up, use Netflix without a VPN and you will have access to the Australian Netflix library.

  • Is there any free VPN that works for this?

    • Maybe try windscribe trial and see if they offer Turkey

      • windscribe worked for me today

  • Finally got it to work for me. My 28 Degress card would not work, even though the payment detail was saved on my account, along with mobile number. No matter what VPN I used it would fail to process the payment.

Bought a 75TL GC from G2A, and added that to my account using WIndscribe VPN and it went through. Payment is covered until Feb, after which it says it will fall back to my CC. Will see if that is the case then.

  • Worked perfectly for me today after I let subscription lapse. I used Windscribe VPN (tried express vpn first and redirected to Netherlands) and Wise visa digital card for monthly premium.

    • what’s the steps with wise visa card?

is it a pain to get?

Anyone want to share their account pm me

      • Page 2 I’ve posted steps.

    EVERYONE PLEASE READ THIS

    Please read these instructions carefully.

I’ve posted earlier but my comment seems to get missed so I’m posting as a separate tutorial.

A few things before you go on with this tutorial.

Would this work with a Wise digital card? or would this work with Revolut? Most likely yes, but I have my account set up already so I won't be trying those methods. If you would like to try those then comment below if it works for you.

Would this work with an AUD credit/debit card? YMMV but you would most likely run into issues at the reactivating stage of this tutorial. And to be honest I don't know why you would want to when Wise has great rates and basically no fees.

Will this work switching from another country Netflix? Probably, but you'd have to change your Wise address details to match the city you are currently subscribed to, then use a VPN and add it to your account and then continue on with step 2. Again, I'm already set up so I haven't tried so I'm not sure on this.

    1. Create a Wise (formerly Transferwise) account. Input real details here including postal address. Verify account and get a card sent out. Deposit some money and activate card.

    2. You can either open a new AU Netflix account or use an existing AU account at this point. Either subscribe to any plan with your Wise card or add your Wise card to an existing account. Add your phone number and verify if needed. Now you can immediately cancel the subscription. Netflix will email you and confirm you have cancelled and have the remaining month to use. If you want, you can contact them via chat and tell them to refund you the fee pro rata because you don’t want to use it for the month.

    3. Once it’s completely cancelled you will receive an email with a button to reactivate your account. (Do not press this yet.)

    4. Open your VPN of choice (Do not connect to it yet.) and check which city it has for Turkey and change your Wise address details to an address that match this city, Istanbul for example. (This is the main reason why your AU credit/debit cards are failing.)

    5. Connect to your VPN and click on the link given in the email on step 3. (Make sure your browser is in incognito mode.)

    6. Now just follow through and pay for account.

    7. After you’ve got it all set up, change your details in Wise back to your real address.

    • Ah… That's the step I was missing. Activate an AU account first, then cancel, then reactivate in TL.

I used Diplomats's method and I was able to subscribe with Windscribe free vpn. All worked smoothly.

    • Hey Diplomats,

Thanks for the tutorial. I have a question, does this mean you will have to pay by wise too in the future instead of your debit / credit card? Thank you :)

      • +1

Yes. Just load your Wise account with AUD $50 and that’ll last you well over 6 months.

        • When I have gone to pay for my WiseDebitCard - regardless of what currency I select - Wise says that it can't accept payment from that country. Any ideas on what to do next?

          • @PharmerDan: What do you mean ? You’re supposed to deposit money as soon as you open the Wise account.

            • @Diplomats: Edited:Ordered a card now, but can I add money in my account to use netflix account or do I have to wait for physical card to arrive then use it in physical store once before I get netflix?

              • @reservin: You can add money straight away. The digital card method works as others have reported so you don’t need to wait for physical.

                • @Diplomats: @Diplomats Appreciate the post. Noob questions - 1) where do I get the genuine sounding Turkey address from? 2) When I tried before without changing the address in Wise, it keeps asking me for OTP. Using your method did you or anyone get a prompt for an OTP?

                  Thank you.

    • Yes this worked brilliantly! Thanks for the step by step guide. Really appreciate it.

    • Thanks. Worked. I misread. Trick is to make sure they cancel immediately as you mentioned.

    • Thanks! Worked perfectly for an existing account, added the Wise card, removed my old card then cancelled via live chat (billing date was the 10th for me) and followed the rest of the steps with windscribe.

Should I be able to change my Wise address back straight away or should I wait for a few more payments to go through?

      • +1

You can change it straight back.

    • Used this method and it worked flawlessly. Didn't even need to wait for my Wise card to arrive as the number is already registered in my account. Thank you Diplomats.

    • Thank you SOOO much for that brilliant write up!! I stupidly loaded my Netflix AU account with $190 worth of gift cards I was given so I am wondering what is the best way forward? I am worried that if I wait until all that credit is used up Netflix might close any loopholes of creating Turkish accounts if I wait another 9 months…

Am I better off waiting until later this year and only do it once my credit runs out or create a parallel Netflix Turkey account (I already bought a smallTurkish Gift card to use to open the account) and start it now?

      Any advice much appreciated!

    • +1

Just successfully restarted membership using your steps. Many Thanks.

re 1. used Wise card with Istanbul address on my account. changed the address to Istanbul 24hrs before restarting (extra cautious step).
re 2. I used my old existing account. Cancelled membership and waited for it to complete lapse. Also ensured mobile number dint have +61.
re 4. Used windscribe VPN to ISTANBUL
re 5. For some reason INCOGNITO mode of chrome was blocked by netflix and it wouldnt let me log in, so i just used normal mode. still worked

One extra tip. When you are restarting membership, start on basic package… once its completed… login again (while still on VPN) and change your plan to ultra HD. 1st month will be billed at basic rate and you get ultra hd upgrade for free for the month. Offcourse next month onward you get ULTRA HD rates billed.

      • My netflix currently ends on 15th Feb so I am cancelling and waiting for this date. I plan to use this method.

    • I got to step 5, logged into Turkey VPN, copied the link from reactivate email into incognito browser, but when I change my plan from basic to ultra, it's showing $22.99? Have I missed something?

      • I suggest dont copy any links.
        Turn VPN on
Log into your NF account as per existing username/password
Then proceed to select plan etc

    • I followed Diplomats' steps and got this error upon payment of the Turkish plan using my Wise account "There appears to be a problem with the payment method you are trying to use."

      Anyone perhaps know why?

  • -3

For the love of god someone create an account and share with 4 people! You can make money from this!!!!

I want to join a group!

  • With vpn, can I use nordvpn?

    • +1

I used nordvpn just fine. Make sure you use incognito mode though when paying for the membership.

  • PureVPN & ExpressVPN not working for Turkey. Anyone have a VPN that will actually work for Turkey?

    • I used PureVPN a couple of days ago to add some more credit… also used Getflix before.

      • Tried a few more and Windscribe was the only one that worked for me. I guess we only need one!!

  • So I cannot seem to get any Netflix outside AU working. VPN takes me to the correct countries Netflix ie Turkey however payment isn’t working.
If I buy Netflix Turkish gift card, will it work for payment method? Acct is currently not active (I cancelled in hope of this hack working..)
But don’t want to buy the gift card to figure out that doesn’t work either?
    Cheers.

    • Yes you can. I have stack up gift card enough to cover at least 3 months.

      • Where did you purchase from?

        • G2a. There many people here bought their gift card from there

  • Have gift card running at the moment and finally got a Revolut card added (28 degrees didnt work for me) - tried to do it the normal method…did the 5sim sms, submitted - but it said that something was wrong and kept throwing me back to the payment screen.
Tried it twice, then went on the chat and submitted through the chat credit card form (tried this before with 28 degrees card too), saw the card be charged the test fee and now all good :)

Prefer to use the 28 degrees card, might try to change it later.

    • Hi! which vpn did you use?

      • NordVPN was used to create the Turkey Netflix

  • Hi all.
I'm a bit confused as few options listed.

    So does this not work?

    A. Open Netflix account with turkey vpn
    B. Simply attach your credit card like Macquarie?

Or do we need to get wise card or revoult only?

What has worked for people recently?

    • Seems to depend on your account….new accounts need gift card and then hit/miss with adding a credit card after - you generally need to go down the path of adding it within the chat, perhaps without trying to do it through the website form (gets locked if you try more than two or three times?)
Then I think there is a delay of 24+ hours from testing where it wont even work in the chat.

Coming from Australian netflix expired, with your credit card/phone number, etc already in the account..seems to be the simple choice.

  • hi guys can someone help me? i wanted to know if it is possible to make a new netflix turkey account and insert my revolut card directly. it's possible? which vpn should i use? I have tried several times to do this procedure but not netflix does not accept my card, the strange thing is that it does not even ask me for the phone verification code …

    • Not possible as I have did that before.

It is only possible when you can get the "Live Chat" guy to give you the credit card form.

I tries for a few days and finally get the "credit Card Form" than the Revolut work.

@Diplomats provide a good step by step guide which has been proven to work using the WISE Digital card.

Gift card will definitely work but you need to keep buying them.

There's another method that work if using existing terminated account but already have CC information saved.
Use the Turkey Gift Card to re-activate it with VPN in turkey and when the gift card finish it will continue with you "saved" credit card.

  • Since its so hard to change pyment method, or your cards can get blocked if from a different region, wouldn't it be better if Paypal was setup as a payment method.
Then you can use whatever card in paypal and NF wouldn't be any wiser ?

  • guys, some guy gave me a 4K netflix and told me he did it directly with Revolut. In fact, entering the account I noticed that the account is new and there is the revolut card inside and has paid (
46.60 TL (+8.39 TL VAT). He does not want to tell me what he did, do you know how it is possible to do this procedure?

  • +1

flew to turkey today to get that sweet price.
before i flew i stopped old account made sure my account had a phone number no +61 just the 0 and ccard (aus visa worked for me)as posted above.
then re activated netflix membership when i landed
    thanks for the guides everyone.
    ;)

    • You wouldn't happen to be looking for a new family member, would you? ;)

  • So I have a BankSA debit card can I use the livechat method to add that as payment?

What exactly are people asking for "Can you please send me the secure payment method update form to change your payment method?"

Do they ask any other questions, like why are you chatting to Turkish livechat in English, what payment method are you using etc?

Also should you be logged into VPN set to Turkey when talking to their chat?

Don't want to have account locked due to not being prepared! Thanks in advance guys.

  • Just to clarify. My next billing date is 5 Feb. I'm currently paying in ARS with the tax which comes out at $20.81AUD using 28 Degrees. If I cancel today do I need to wait until the 6th Feb to go down the TL path?

    • Yes. According to the method I just used qnd posted below which worked

I did the live chat twice asking for pro drata refunds etc but no luck so just waited

  • +5

So happy I finally got this to work after months of trying unsuccessfully. Thankyou to all contributors who I learnt from

    What I did

    • signed up to transfer wise (wise.com) and ordered their card (costs $10, however I actually got it free during a black Friday deal they had).

    • changed my payment method within my existing au netflix account to the wise card and made sure I had a payment taken out of that card by updating my subscription date so it took a payment immediately (all still in aud at the normal au rates at this stage)

    • made sure my phone number was added to my netflix account. Just in the normal 04xx xxx xxx format.

    • cancelled my subscription and waited for it to expire.

    • the day after it expired I used windscribe VPN Turkey server (was free) and signed into Netflix.com (I didn't use an incognito window)

    • it prompted me to re subscribe and just accepted it, was billed $5.72 for the premium 54.99TL plan

    Boom!

    Hope it helps

I'd tried many times unsuccessfully before, this slower way is the only way I've had it work.

    Good luck to all

    • When you signed up to wise.com, what currency did you specify for your card ?
Does it matter if its Au$ or Lira ?

  • +1

Cheers. Got it working. Now paying $5.60 for premium.

    • Did you use the same method as above?

      • +1

        Yes I did

        • Which is the tutorial I previously posted.

          • @Diplomats: Yeah mate I missed that thanks for sharing it though

Seems the main difference between yours and mine was I didn't change any addresses in wise account or use incognito. Anyway glad it's working for people. I seriously tried for months I was so happy when I finally got it to work

  • +1

    Well that was weird.

    • Unsubscribed on Monday (10th of Jan, billing day for Netflix is the 12th) and attempted to resubscribe today (16th of Jan, 2022)
    • Followed steps to get to payment screen
    • Tried changing from CommBank Debit Card to 28 Degrees Platinum, but it was asking for a Turkish mobile number
    • Sign out and sign back in, second attempt
    • Tried again with current payment method (Commbank Debit Card) and it didn't ask for a Turkish mobile number

Now to wait and see if there will be any problem when I get billed.

    PENDING: netflix.com Amsterdam -$5.66

  • My Turkey Netflix account doesn’t let me login nor reset password (it gives me a ‘sorry something went wrong’ error) but when I go to Netflix AU, it allows me to logon. I never had a Netflix AU account before though. The good thing is it still shows I am on the Turkish Netflix Ultra plan.

    • I've a strange one too.
Everytime and using VPN (plus private-browsing tab) to Turkey account my login fails ‘sorry something went wrong’.

I reset the password, then change it back to original password. At least I can do this.

      Annoying.

      • Does it allow you to logon after you changed the password?

        • Yes it does.

          • @Amazingly: I won’t complain if Netflix only allows me to log into my account via the Netflix AU site if they allow me to update my credit card details (which I am too scared to try) when my credit card expires and keep me on the Turkish plan. Maybe it would be easier to update credit card details via the AU site, who knows?

  • This works for me which may helps those still trying to get it to work.
    1. Signed up to Netflix Australia for basic and payment with my 28 degrees card
    2. Verified card and Australian phone number
    3. Let it expired after 1 month
    4. Re-activate the subscription with Netflix Turkey using Tunnel bear (free VPN) , paid for ultra subscription using eGift card purchased from MTC gaming, 100TL lasted for close to 2 months subscription
    5. When credit from the gift card all used up the renewal automatically take payment from my 28degrees card. Paid $5.70aud for the ultra subscription.
    Cheers

    • This same method work for me.
I wanted to keep all my old Netflix viewing profile (it was years old and had a lot of history), didn't want to sign up for a different payment method, nor did I want to use gift cards forever.

I have just last week ended the TL gift card period, and can see I was billed successfully the day after for TL value onto the 28 degrees card..

    • So your 28 degrees card is in Australian dollars ?
And this is all you were charged ?

  • Will share my positive experience;

Bought 100 TL gift card from Turgame
    Winscribe VPN to Turkey
Signed up for a new Netflix Ultra account
    Paid with gift card
Established live chat with Netflix support and requested the all important 'Payment Update Form'
Filled out and submitted the form using my plain old Commonwealth Bank Mastercard while in the chat.
Netflix used my Turkish credit which was good until the 26th Jan.
Today my CC was successfully billed $5.77 AUD for a month of Netflix Ultra. Next bill Feb 27th.

Thanks to everyone else for sharing their methods. It sure helped me. Good to know a basic Commonwealth Bank Mastercard will work. Hope this info helps someone else.

    • +2

I can confirm this method works with Revolut virtual debit card as well. The important part is first you need to verify/activate the account with the gift card and then only the customer support agent can update your payment details (to your visa card).

  • Hello everyone, hoping that someone knows what to do … I followed this Netfix Turkey guide, I tried with Revolut but nothing, in practice Revolut works in Brazil and Italy but it doesn't work in Turkey and Argentina and I don't understand why … speaking with an account seller told me he uses Revolut to do Netflix in Turkey. He makes a new account and directly enters Revolut Visa to pay, I didn't believe it so I asked him to take screenshots of the Revolut app and actually in this month he made 2 netflix accounts paying them once for 3, € 68 and € 3, 59 with the Turkish exchange. He also gave me an account as proof to show me that he paid directly by card without using a giftcard. Can anyone tell me how Netflix Turkey works with Revolut? he says that he uses the virtual revolut card the blue one, he does not use the physical card or even the disposable ones. it also says it has Revolut's premium membership.

Diplomats method posted above just worked for me. i added an extra tip to save a couple of $s too :)

*One extra tip. bro I tried as you said. I reactivated my netflix account with basic profile, then I logged back in and switched to UltraHD for free but Netflix says the next payment for the new plan is in 15 days no more after a month …

        • looks like they closed that loop hole. oh well.

    • +1

You can use revolut virtual debit card, see above comment from ge3ks and my comment to that as well.

  • 28 degrees card just debited $4.30 HD - yay!
Did the re-activate subscription with Netflix Turkey using GC.

Now wondering what happens when your Aussie card expires and have to update the date?
Just go to Netflix Turkey and update the card details?

  • +1

i eventually got there in the end, this was my long and convoluted process (i might have messed up at some point although i thought my Australian mobile was already verified)

    -Let Australian netflix account expire
    -Setup Windscribe VPN for Turkey
    -Sign into Netflix TR
-Verify CC details (at this point i thought it worked)
-Asked for Turkish Phone number to verify
-Used SMS-activate.org to generate Turkish number to verify
-Kicked me back to confirm CC details where my ANZ CC failed
-Text message from ANZ saying they have seen an unusual transaction and have blocked my card, please confirm this transaction was genuine and we will unblock your card. Try processing again in 15 mins
-Card now unblocked, Netflix now says "unable to process payment details"

i was ready to give up but gave it one more shot,
-bought Turkish Netflix gift card from MTC Game (took a while to come through, had to contact them via WhatsApp and confirm my mobile to get it)
-Redeem gift card and sign into Netflix account (it gave me an error first time saying this gift card was not valid in your region but second time worked by signing in first and then entering the code)
    -Delete existing payment details
-Account successfully reactivated with GC balance
-Start live chat via help centre
-Say i need to update my payment details, they send me an email but i say that the link is not working (Gateway Error 502)
-In the live chat window, they give me a form to enter CC details directly which works
-Mission Accomplished! Netflix account now says my account is paid until X date with TL Netflix credit and backup payment method is my ANZ CC

    • +1

This is overly complicated. Follow these 6 steps in order.

Bought 100 TL gift card from G2A.COM
      Winscribe VPN to Turkey
Signed up for a new Netflix Ultra account
      Paid with gift card
Established live chat with Netflix support and requested the 'Payment Update Form' saying you can not update the payment details from the account
Filled out and submitted the form using any visa card while in the chat.

      • Yep this simple method worked for me.

      • @Techefy don't you get a prompt for OTP??

        • @mando you can simply skip it. if there is no skip button just open Netflix in a new tab and you will be already logged in.

          • @Techefy: Thanks mate. I did try that before it asks me to "Finish Sign Up" and takes me back to adding payment method.

  • I've an existing Netflix account using my ANZ visa debit card. I'd like to try the Credit Card option first before I try the gift card or Wise card option. My current plan expires in 2 days.
    Are these the correct steps

    1. Add a phone number and verify it (Currently no number)
    2. Add my 28 degrees card and verify it(Not sure if this should be done now or when I connect to vpn to renew my account. Can anyone please confirm?)
    3. Cancel my account and let it lapse
    4. After it is lapsed, connect using Turkey vpn (I have windscribe)
5.In the netflix account page login using my Aus account
    5. Choose plan and let netflix deduct the payment

Is there anything I'm missing here or should be done differently

  • I signed up with WISE.com, $10 to set it up, but I got a physical card which is sent out, I can click the link to see the full details including card# and CVV of the physical card. I also can click a link to add a 'digital card' (free, I think), it also gave me an additional card (different number).

I saw above people have used a digital card for netflix. Wondering why not use the physical card number, given it gives you this rather than waiting for the post?

I have added the digital card to my netflix payment method, have an 04xx phone number verified; now cancelled netflix, effective 15th Feb, then I will do the remaining steps. (VPN+change WISE address+click reactivate when I receive the email).

  • Hi all,

Just want to ask if anyone ever experienced this issue.
Basically I have turkey netflix working fine, the billing is also without issue.

I am currently traveling to Indonesia which lead me to issue where I can’t stream/download at netflix at all. It throw error “your account cannot be used in this location”.
Have anyone got this issue? And possibly how to fix it?

It will work if vpn used, but its kinda slow.
Also I am a bit confused as I didn’t get such issue when I access it in Australia while using vpn with US ip address.

  • Works like a charm, does anyone know about the Tax area of doing this? Got an email from CBA asking me to update my tax residency details.

    • I got the same email. Haven’t read it yet.

I managed to get it working with GC first then asking live chat that i'm having trouble adding my debit card, used citi, then they sent me a form to fill in. That's it! No wise or revolut card needed. I was on turkey vpn the whole time i was in the chat maybe that helped too. I also got lucky with the person i chatted with. Last night was a different not helpful whatsoever.

    • Nice. This method worked for me, too. Used a regular CBA Mastercard. After the gift card credit ran out, I got charged $5.77 AUD for a month of 4K Netflix. (TurkOzBargain)

  • Worked for me just now:
    - Updated payment in my Aus account to my Macquarie mastercard
    - Ensured mobile number is verified within Aus account
    - Allowed Aus account to expire
    - Used Windscibe app on iPad to provide VPN to Istanbul (free)
    - Went to netflix.com and restarted my account on the top tier, TL54.99 which is currently au $5.72
    - Payment went through fine

    • For "Allowed Aus account to expire", how long it takes to expire?

It will expire on your monthly payment anniversary date

  • Finally, signed up to Turkish NF, thanks OP and others who helped !!
I tried to use my ANZ credit card, Macquarie debit card, both declined by NF. All this while on VPN to Turkey.
Currently using NF gift cards from MTCGame though.
This is slightly expensive, about $7 a month, as opposed to $5.77 if paid using a credit/debit card.

Not too keen on using the secure payment details update form via chat, because apparently, there is a chance account can be closed if they figure out I'm not in Turkey.
So, will try getting a Wise account before my gift card credit runs out in May.

What other options are available … 28 degrees ? any more ?

  • Has anyone who used the chat payment form had a payment go through after gift card expiry? The rep said that my card seemed ok but the authorisation did not go through. I suspect it will still have the same issue when it tries to bill me later…

Can also confirm American Express and Qantas MasterCard NOT working, nor was Westpac debit.

No luck with PureVPN. They don't officially support Netflix unblocking.

Kindly be informed that the Netflix Turkey is not officially supported by PureVPN right now.
Currently we provide Netflix accessibility (unblocking) in the following regions… - US - UK - Canada - Australia - Germany - India - France - Denmark - Italy – Japan

Above from live chat, and they directed me to the post below:

    https://www.purevpn.com/netflix-vpn

So your mileage may vary getting it to connect

    • Ended up being successful using the desktop app

  • I finally signed up with Windscribe, WISE on expired Au account - thanks for the info!

After the first month, is it safe to change my payment method to another AU credit card, e.g. Macq bank? or should I always keep topping up $ into WISE?

Does WISE charge a fee now I've paid the $10 original fee to get an account/card? Guess I could keep it running if its a better option. Very cautious not wanting to lose this precious account now hehe

unbelievable, can't believe it worked. Thanks, OP and all the rest that gave advice!

Here is what I did. I tried signing up via Turkey but that DOES NOT WORK. You're much better off letting the subscription expire.

    1. I let my aussie sub expire. Checked it had my ING debit card and phone number and all that.
    2. Two days after expiry, turn Windscribe on to Turkey location (Istanbul).
    3. Open Incognito window.
    4. Search for Netflix Turkey on Google.
    5. Login to Netflix account.
    6. It shows me option to resub, with all different tiers. Choose TL54.99.
    7. Proceed through next steps without a hassle, doesn't ask for phone confirmation or bank account details or anything like that.
    8. Sucess! Jaw drops.
    9. Check bank account: $5.68, thank you very very much.

Let's see how long this lasts.

  • Do I need still need a VPN to Turkey if I want to change my payment method? ie does it revert back to Australian pricing if I simply login and change my credit card to different one without being on any VPNs?

  • I'm not able to use my St George Visa or my virtual Revolut card for this. Just ended up buying another couple of gift cards as it was still cheaper than local pricing.
