    Yes it would be, since Xbox is owned by Microsoft.

    They've integrated the Xbox line of controllers to be plug and play.

    Alternatively, you can also ps4/ps5/Nintendo Switch pro controllers, but it requires a bit more setup (not hard or anything, just YouTube eg. 'ps4 to pc').

    I personally use a ps4 controller to play games; for steam games there's a steam setting you can change, and for non-steam games I use a software called ds4.

    Keep in mind that you'll have to directly connect with a usb cable to pc. If you want wireless then there's Bluetooth dongles you can plug into the computer. Connecting via cable does reduce button response latency though for competitive fps).

    I believe Xbox controllers have a proprietary wireless dongle specifically for the controller, but not 100% sure. I'm sure someone may be able to answer this, or you can Google it yourself.

    There's quite a lot of reviews about Bluetooth issues with the controller. Last thing you want is your controller lagging or losing packets at that crucial moment. I'd either opt for the version that comes with the wireless adapter or the wired version

  These are going for 30k Telstra plus points, if you have any you want to use. I don't know if that's more of a bargain or not, but incase you have some lying around and want to use them on something you'd use.
  I was looking for a controller that'll work on my iPad pro and Nintendo switch. From my research, the series controller isn't compatible with those switch dongles (fine for iPad), but the Xbox one controllers are fine. I'm open to suggestions though.

  FYI If you are getting the catch free trial and want to use gift cards, you can't use the full amount gift card amount because they need your credit card for the free trial (even though it doesn't cost anything). They ended up charging my credit card for the whole transaction last time even though my gift card covered the whole balance.
