    Pre-order in title.

  • This is for pre order only?

  • +1

And how long is the wait time?

  • -7

    HODL

    • +9

      How long must I wait?

      • +1

        eternity for some

      • That's the question. If you asked that same question at this time last year, and the wait times were similar, it'd be May or June 2022.

      • It is depends on individual situations, some can hold till end of next year and some can't.

        • I've never bought a current gen card for my PCs

      • Chip shortages expected to last till roughly mid 2023, so just 2 more short years…

        • +4

Chip shortage is not the main reason affecting GPU prices, as we don't see the prices of CPU, motherboards and other PC components containing chips gone up in prices as ludicrously as GPU prices. We all know crypto-mining is the main reason to blame, just the miners trying to shift the blame to other causes.

        • +2

and if China invades Taiwan, it will be for a decade.

      • +1

i think if it's the waiting game that people want to play….i don't think waiting till the chip shortage is over will do it, because that's expected to go on to about mid 2023.

What you're realistically waiting for is for Nvidia to release the 4000 series, Even though the 4000 will most likely get released during the chip shortage it should still result in the 3000 series should become more affordable.

All of what i have just said is my prediction, i do not have some secret internal source.

      • How much more must I take?

        • Patience is a virtue. Hold and hope.

          • @edfoo: Ah yes, that's how it goes.

  • +3

ooo nice short eta. there is a free delivery option to metropolitan areas for me (vic)

    • +2

Free postage to Victoria and Western Australia. If not 20-40 i believe

  • Damn I wanted the XC3 version.

    • +3

      Isn't ftw3 better?

      • It is, I’m guessing OP might have size requirements? XC3 is a 2-2.2 slot card, so it fits in smaller form factor cases. Can even get the XC3 into a ~7L case like the Dan A4.

  • Is this LHR?

    • +9

      I think all 3080ti's are…

    • +4

      all 3080ti are

      • Yes everything is now LHR. It is the biggest scam from Nvidia. Force miners to now buy 2 of everything and dont drop the price. So it is neither a win for miners nor gamers.

        • +9

Its a win if miners have to pay more

        • +5

LHR is definitely a win for the gaming community. Because if you are only using it for gaming there will be no noticable difference, but for miners there will be a difference.
So the ROI for the card for miners has been lowered, making the card less valuable, resulting in a lower desire for these cards from miners WHICH MEANS easier supply for gamers.

          • @whitepuma: Not really, if anything the ROI goes up. It's better to pay 50% less for an LHR and have it last 51% longer than buy new.

LHR models should be underclocked to use less voltage and since they run all the time thermal cycles are basically non-existent.

            • +2

@TogTogTogTog: Sure, but those metrics you just mentioned aren't true.

…you aren't paying 50% less for a LHR, and there is no proof that it will last 51% longer than buy new.

It's easy to prove your point when you can make up your own figures.

        • What about 3090?

  • literally picked mine up for 2499 from BPCtech yesterday (profanity) riiiiiiiiiiip :(

    • +1

      F

    • Got the same from BPC a couple of months back for around the same price, excellent card.

    • +4

      Should have HODL ;p

  • -5

eth 2.0 may get released next month…..fingers crossed

    • +8

      lol

Its not happening until at least Q2 2022

    • +12

i swear i hear those words every month

      • One can only hope :D

  • +4

    Edit: 3070 OOS now

    • pepehands

  • 3070 already OOS?

    • Can confirm went OOS around 6 min ago

  • Both cards gone now

  • +1

Got the 3070, thanks OP. My one year wait is over.

  • What's a Hodler?

    • HODL

    • +1

      💎🙌

    • +10

It is a person with no intention ever to buy something so instead they say HODL to get people's attention.

    • -1

      Illiterate individuals

  • +2

I'm sick and tired of these GPU deals….. a 3080 ti over 2K….. I would just stick with my 6600 XT till the end of the world…. and buy a PS5/XBOX since they are way less overpriced ( still with a premium on marketplace

    • +6

Some of us are still rocking a gtx970 ¬¬

      • get a 6600 XT maybe? shouldn't be hard to get one for around 700…. not cheap I know but at least it's more than double performance and you get warranty… then throw the seasoned 970 onto marketplace for 250-300…. needs a bit effort but I think it's worth it

        • +1

Not seen 6600xts for that price for some time. Doubtful to come back

      • 780 here

      • 2 x gtx 970 in sli going strong still!

      • Hehe Rx 570 4bg here

    • +1

      Why not both?

      • if you can afford….

    • How's the 6600XT for 1440p?

      • +5

for 60 fps you should be OK… but a bit struggling for 144hz monitors…..

    • apples to oranges but i get your point.

    • -3

we are nearly there….lots of hodlers are giving in and buying them each time they buy, that's one less demand in the market. The thing is, there are actually plenty of 3080's in the world. once crypto train hype is over again will be picking up a 3080 for $700. Seen it all before…..in 2018 I've picked up radeon rx 590 which was RRP 2k as well at its peak, and end of that year for less than 700 on ebay. Good things come to those who can outpatient others :D. Disclaimer: I did manage to score a 3080 and 3070, sold them after mining for a while. Only game I'll be playing is AoE4 so don't need it as my 1080ti is plenty for it.

Probably shouldn't say here and let more hodlers buy up these prices :D. The bottom line is only buying if you really really want it lol. The price will go down ….but it is another year maybe

      • Just wait it out. At the same time should be able to get the new BF, COD and Far Cry cheap too…only a sucker would pay those sky high prices for a new game.

      • it is what it is, you can't stop everyone, someone is going to pull the trigger anyways..

      • You know, there are other coins to mine apart from Ethereum. Plenty are profitable.

        • Well yes ….if the use case is for mining then you all right, however I was more referring to this price will inevitably fall like in 2018….where eBay will be flooded with old 3080s coz there are heaps of them out there

          • @madska: I agree with you although it could be a super cycle. But then again also depends on where the new floor is. It could even still be profitable mining

    • i love my water blocked 3080Ti. It was a complete ripoff, i wont deny that, but i have it, I get to enjoy it, and theres no relief in sight for video card prices, so no need for buyers remorse. At least with this card i can do my oled justice by running 4k 120hz. Obviously not everyone can convince themselves spending this amount on a video card is worth it, but for those that do want one, these deals are great.

      • -1

You are talking like if money is not a problem, which is not really a discussion belonging in OzBargain.

        • No thats not quite how i meant it. I mean diffrerent people have different priorities. For some people PC Gaming is a hobby and they can justify spending quite a bit on that hobby. For others, they might have a boat and enjoy fishing, or spend a lot on cycling or some other sport. Each to their own.

          • @DanielP2: Not saying you are wrong. If you are passionate about gaming and you have the money, then you can buy a few RTX3090 if you want.
But that is not what the mentality of OzBargain here. We want genuine bargain deals here. Free is even better.

            • +1

@edfoo: I still see something being less than market price as a bargain, even if its over RRP. Its been near on impossible to get a video card at RRP for basically a year now since 30xx series released. U gotta unortunately take what you can get at the moment and probably throughout most of 2022. Its a very shit situation, but it is what it is. Any gpus available at less than what they are selling for elsewhere is still a bargain to people in the market for one.

              • @DanielP2: Yes, if you must get a new GPU now. If you are not in hurry to get one, then wait. Personally my plan is to get a new build in mid 2022, so I have the next 9 months to wait and see how the GPU prices progress before I dive in.

                • @edfoo: Yeh waiting is great if you have something to keep you happy until then. I'm not sure if the gpu market will recover any time soon though. We have seen huge price increases 2 generations in a row now, and people are still buying up everything being manufactured. These prices are probably the new normal now. I don't see them dropping back to gtx10xx prices if they think they can get away with charging this much

  • I hear these are getting Bricked by Amazon's New World.

  • The Rtx 3070 sold out ?

    • yeah went out by like 5:10pm or something

  • +1

I'm having a GTX1080ti which is holding on pretty well especially for 4K gaming ( I use my 4K TV for gaming). Not sure if I should jump in the RTX hype bus and spend my hard earned money on this or just hold off till GPU prices are reasonable!! (BE IT THIS LIFE OR NEXT)

    • Same.. (Lurking) .. LOL

    • +5

wut if u die before u get to see traced rays

      • Honestly I would find no difference if I play the games with RTX ON or off.. A crap game is a crap game nonetheless.. even with those lovely traced rays and reflections turned on!

    • +3

I'm holding out here on my 2070s.
It's fine for 1440p and RTX is a non event for games I play.
Don't get me wrong I would love a 3070 or 3080 I'm just not paying overs for it.

Good luck to those who got them at good prices.

      • Exact same, got a 2070S for $700 2 years ago and still treating me well. Would upgrade for the right price, but these prices are insane

    • I also had 1080ti and upgraded to this 3080ti couple months ago. Quite happy with the purchase.

Understand these gpu are over price but if you sell your 1080ti for $1000, (which is also over price), the difference you pay for the upgrade is the same. So it would make no difference for me when upgrading it.

      • +1

Sounds just like housing in major cities! Need to already be in the game

  • +1

depressing how 3x of these are now worth my car

    • Accounting for green slip, rego, and comprehensive insurance?

      • sadly, yes… well wait, maybe not anymore.. apparently second-hand cars have actually gone up in value a bit as well..

  • -1

Gigabyte Radeon RX 6700 XT GAMING OC 12GB for $1207 is good to buy?? or any good card on RTX 3060i ? need a video card by this week, thanks

  • +6

RRP of RTX 3080 Ti is ~$1920 AUD. This particular variant is around $2150. So only $150 or so mark up. Gotta appreciate PLE for keeping pricing reasonable

    • +2

But the msrp for this eVGA model is $2199. So it’s only $100

      • Right you are! I was doing rough conversions from USD

  • Managed to get the 3080ti, thanks OP
