    • Picked one up yesterday from the Hoppers Cross store in VIC. They had around 10 left in stock if anyone is in the western suburbs and interested.

  • Anyone know if they have stock at Edwardstown SA ? or Mile end ?

    • OK rang edwardstown and spoke to 3 seperate people and noone had any knowledge of the package.
Rang Mile end and a staff member told me they had 2. They were at the VERY top of the racking and they had yo get their lift to retrieve one.
There was ONE left at Mile end ( SA ) as at 1pm 2/11/2021

    • Found a few today at the prospect bunning, no price tag but easy to spot at the garden tool aisle

Here’s an unboxing video if your interested in the product: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MQvhQlEDzTs

    • Doesn't seem like the pruner attachment is adjustable?!

      • Pruner position is adjustable

    • Havent yet opened the box on mine. From your video the head isnt adjustable to different angles. I have the old Hedge trimmer/ Chainsaw and you could easily rotate the head which was great for both the Chainsaw and hedge trimmer is you were in awkward positions

I managed to pick up both the Ozito and the Aldi multi tool (https://www.aldi.com.au/en/special-buys/special-buys-sat-30-…). For me, order of importance was:
    1. Line trimmer
    2. Brush cutter
    3. Hedge/saw

Pricing for both was approx $280.

    Pros & Cons:
    - Build quality on both are decent
    - Ferrex has an edger, Ozito has the extension pole (giving more reach for the hedger + saw)
    - Both are heavy. With the line trimmer - weight is ok. But when you use the hedger tool, both are 'rotator-cuff-injury-waiting-to-happen' heavy. Especially the Ozito, as with the pole extension, it's top heavy.
    - Ozito line trimmer head is at an odd angle, compared to that of the Ferrex. Hard to describe, but when I do my lawn edges - I flip the line trimmer so that the line gives me a flush 90deg angle. For some reason the angle on the Ozito line trimmer is slightly more - meaning I have to tilt back further to line up (sorry if this makes no sense)
    - The bumper head on both are poor to average. Not sure if we can fit after market heads (although I think another user mentioned you can with the Ozito) - but the bumper seems to be your usual cheapie plastic which will be lucky to last a full year for weekend users)
    - As others have mentioned, you can't use the hedger/saw on the Ozito without the extension pole. Seems a massive oversight, given it's very unwieldy due to weight.

For me - I'll be keeping the Aldi one and returning the Ozito. Prefer the dual string trimmer + relatively lighter weight of the Ferrex. Although I think both units are really competitively priced for all-in-one tools. I prefer the Ozito battery eco system as I've used Ozito in the past (and still have Ozito tools) which are decent. Not sure if I'll be expanding into Ferrex.

    • Thanks for the detailed review. Have you used the edger? Any thoughts on it?

      • Sorry - haven't used the edger as yet. Looks like your standard affair. Brief look at the manual suggests the height is adjustable. Will provide feedback on the weekend.

    • To be clear, you can use the hedger and pruner without the additional extension pole. You just have to use the first pole. At least in my case I always would need to use the first pole anyway.

    • Another Q, did you notice any difference in power between the 2 when using the line trimmer? Ozito is brushless and Ferrex is not. What are the rpm of each?

  • Bunnings messed up my order.

  • I ended up taking mine back to Bunnings ( Mile end ) today. Whilst the Whipper snipper had enough power the single line seemed very inefficient. I know you can change heads, but the secondary issues with the Hedge trimmer are that whilst you dont need the middle extension you still need to hook Hedger up to where the whipper snipper head was and thats still a fair distance away. My hedge is about 5 ft high and it would be super awkward to use it. Considering blowing my Budget and getting an Ego trimmer and Emower

  • Stupid question but do these batteries match those used by other Ozito tools like drills?

    • Yes

    • Yep and the deal is pretty good if you need some extra 4AH batteries. Ive already got a stack from previous deals as well as 3 chargers. If I didnt already have these I'd probably put up with the usability issues, get a new bump head and be happy.

  • Just got one at the local Bunnings. Can someone recommend the best replacement head for the Whipper Snipper. Don't know if I will need it but have had issues with previous bump heads.

    Thanks

    • In same boat, not sure which head. Think I will just get the recommendation from the first page of the comments

  • Still any stock inner city or northern suburbs?

  • Just picked one up up in Orange NSW. There were at least two left on the shelf (Aisle 23).

  • Is it worth getting if I don't need the trimmer? Does it still end up cheaper?

  • Bunnings Stafford (QLD) still has 2 in stock (as at 130pm 18/11) for anyone wanting one.

Bit of a necro but just picked up one of these from Clyde North (VIC). There we're another 4 left there as of this arvo. Apparently they arrived last week so stock might still be filtering through to stores…
