Haven't received the wipers from WiperTech yet, but the wiper attachment seems to replicate factory attachments - better for wind noise aerodynamics, with the wiper arm sitting closer to the glass.

I've installed a couple now using the last few deals. Wipers are awesome, virtually no noise and do a great job compared to my old ones.

    • +1

same here. really works well with my VW

      • +3

unfortunately it didnt hold up on my Passat, after 1 month they started making noises etc, was parked outside and im from VIC.

      • +2

So are these Rubber or Silicone?

Rubber: traditional, cheaper, firmer for sticks/snow, wears out within a year
Silicone: new, costs a little more, softer for rain/garaged, doesn't wear out and lasts years

And if they're rubber, anyone can recommend me a good quality and good value Silicone option?

        • +2

          They're rubber unfortunately.

          • @SchnozzBargain: Thanks.
Then this deal is overpriced. It makes sense why they only guarantee for 1-Year, instead of say like 3 Years. They must know it is going to degrade soon, like those cheaper options at your local SuperCheap/Repco/Autobarn.

        • Hi! Good question. Our wiper blades are made of rubber they are then coated with Teflon for durability. Based on our testing we found this combination of materials to offer good consistent whipping performance. You can read all about our products in detail via our product page. Cheers :)

      Whats the backstory?

      • Undelivered orders

        • Hi! It looks like the link provided ^^ is for our competitor " UNIWIPER ", not Wipertech.

I can assure you that all Wipertech orders are processed in full within 4-6 business hours; the package will be onboard with AusPost for delivery.

          • @wipertech:

Hi! It looks like the link provided ^^ is for our competitor " UNIWIPER ", not Wipertech.

I know it is, that was my point…

            • @spackbace: Perfect! sorry if I misunderstood. Thank you for supporting us. πŸ‘

    • Wipers didn't really hold up either for a car permanently parked outside, but didn't really expect much for $25 a pair.

      • Hi! If you can email me your order details, I can confirm if this order was made with Wipertech and then send you a complete replacement under our 12 - month warranty program. Hope to hear back from you soon! [email protected]

    • Agreed. ordered from them (Uniwiper) 2 years ago through a deal they had on here. They sent me a generic short rear wiper even though my car only comes with front wipers. Obviously refused to respond or return.

  • They're actually very decent quality. The fit on my Tiguan could have been a bit better though. Had to shave off some plastic on the wiper so it would fit into the arm. Otherwise no complaints.

    • How much did you pay?

      • It was the last vw promo for $25 delivered

  • +31

Blades are $69 for my Falcon? That's more than my cars worth!

    • Some of those v6's can make big power. And if you have a V8 from the last decade you should be laughing.

    • +11

They may be great, but the price is scary too. I am quite happy with the ones I got from Costco made by Michelin.
      Only $15 each currently.
So unless you drive at high speeds and can afford these, try the below…
      https://au.michelin-lifestyle.com/en/promotions/au-wiper-bla…
You can check the car booklet at the store or do it on your smart phone to find the correct size.
Also Costco guarantee if you have any problems with them you can take them back.
      Videos online for installation…

      • Thanks for sharing, Just a quick note on the difference between Wipertech and Michelin blades. We supply true fit wiper blades; this means no need to fiddle around with adapters. Simply, remove your current wiper and pop our blades on vs. Michelin ( these are multi-fit blades… select the correct adapter for the car - it can be a tad bit time-consuming.

    • Same price for my 1996 Camry :(

  • Got a rear wiper blade last week, and of course now it's on special. May replace the front blades because they're starting to wear out. It was installed in literally 5 seconds. Click, slide old wiper out, this one slides in just like the factory wiper.

My original blades I replaced took me a good 30 minute of trying to comprehend the user manual before I could put the right plastic bit at the right orientiation and position before it would clip in, nightmare shit. Would happily pay an extra $20 or so to get a 5 second install.

  • +5

They are about 6/10 for me. VW Passat. They skip on the glass quite badly, and I'll replace with OEM in future which are silent
Easy to fit though. And the Supercheap ones are noisier..

    • +4

I have exact same car & issue, bought it on the last sale and recently installed it.

I think I have to throw these away, they skip and make terrible noise at higher speeds & heavy rain.

      • They say 1 year warranty. If you send them a video, I would hope they would refund/replace them.

        • +1

          mine also skip on a golf r mk6 :(

          • @SevenSmurfs: I wonder if it's a VW issue :S Interesting…

            • @sparker89: Best ones i've found other than OEM is Uniwiper. They're about a 8/10. OEM is about 10/10. Much cheaper than OEM though.

            • +2

@sparker89: Toyota Yaris same thing (chatter), tossed them for some Trico's

              • @Kparky: Crap. That's what I bought these blades for! Will make the most of the returns policy if these things chatter.

                • +1

@yojabbajabba: Please do! We have a straightforward replacement policy. We just need your order details as long as the product was installed correctly and we can rule out any installation errors. We will replace any faulty products within a 12 months period.

Any issue at all - please get in touch with us - happy to help < https://help.wipertech.com.au/hc/en-us/requests/new >

                  • @wipertech: Thanks Rep!

                  • @wipertech: Contacted the customer support and they want me to twist my windshield wipers arm to fix it … lol don’t trust these guys !

The OEM blades were working perfectly before changing to these wipers. just changed because it left few tiny lines of water when raining.

          • +1

@SevenSmurfs: I had multiple sets of Bosch Aerotwins that turned to garbage on my R after a month or two. They'd skip so badly they basically didn't work. I did everything I could think of to fix it. Cleaned the windscreen with isopropyl alcohol, polished and sealed the windscreen with multiple different things, shouted at them……but nothing worked.

Bought Wipertech blades and they've been brilliant. Your mileage has clearly varied, however.

      • Same, but for a Cherokee… been a disaster :-(

    • I have mine on Subaru Forester, Hyundai iload, fiat Ducato and all work great. I don't get any skipping at all. I wonder why it's so hit and miss… I almost didn't order originally due to mixed reviews

    • The connectors on my wiper pairs (for my VW Passat B7) were not exactly fit with the connectors on the wiper arms.
I had to remove the connector from the old pairs to make them fit and not causing the metal clicking sound.
Also, they only last 3 months without skipping.
      Great brand advertising tho.

      • Thank you for the feeback! Just a quick note on the Passat - there is a crossover year for this generation, meaning that selecting the correct build year is important to get the right wiper blades. In other words, you won't have to make any modifications at all.

Please contact our support team and we will be more than happy to replace your wipers with a new set.

  • Thanks OP - hopefully these are much better than the pieces of crap Michelin blades I picked up from Costco.

    • +1

Yeah, the Michelins are a big fail!

  • I fitted these to my falcon and wife's territory they are better than expected. No more noise now.

  • +3

How do these last on cars that live outdoors in the sun? I change blades once a year as they go hard in the sun. Are these going to last 3 times as long?

    • Why would they?

    • Why 3 times longer?

    • By the 2nd year ours were doing a pretty average job.. Initially great, but didn't last when the car is parked outside.

  • +1

Now we just wait for that deal on Swedish made penis enlarger pumps!

  • +1

Thanks for posting this. Seen them the last couple of times they've been posted, and have been meaning to give them a try.

    Just ordered a pair.

  • +2

How are these and other wipers people got from Wiper tech from previous deals? The ones i unwanted worked out to $62 or $63 with their regular 10% off front wipers. I went for Bosch aerotwins again for $38 for a pair that fits our vehicle as my previous pair was good and wanted something i knew was decent.

    • I used to go Bosch Aerotwins when Supercheap has 30% off. They've been perfect for all the cars I've had till now, but I've got a niche BMW and the Bosch wiper had a universal attachment system which sits too high off the glass and skips a little in the middle of the blade. I'm disappointed because Aerotwins can be quite a bit cheaper when on sale.

  • +1

I use them before, I think they are alright for the price.
Gotta replace them once a year though for me.

However now I have stick to the bosch brand, they are more expensive but so far its been 2 years still wiping it clean on the window :)

  • +3

I'm going to try them on my Tiguan, otherwise I'll go back to buying Bosch.

    • Which bosch do you usually use for your tiguan?

  • +2

Bursons or Autobarn can do Bosch Aerotwins for $25 each

    • Not at Autobarn but Supercheap Auto, and $25ish when on sale. You can, however, find cheap Bosch Aerotwins ($25/blade) on eBay.

      • +4

Negative, I’m not talking about sales. Just go in and ask them for their best price. You can do this at any auto parts store, it’s not like a supermarket where their prices are set. I always barter at auto parts stores and have never paid retail

        • and have never paid retail

Neither has any member on OzBargain! /s. Rule 1 of OzBargain - Never pay retail.

Thanks for sharing about the pricing system that underpins auto parts stores - might give it a try on my next visit.

    • couldn't find aerotwin at autobarn

    • +2

$25 is still too much. Normally $22 at Automotive Superstore (e.g. https://automotivesuperstore.com.au/bosch-bba550?gclid=Cj0KC… and probably cheaper in pairs). Price matching at Supercheap is easy, but I just buy the Tridons for $10.

  • Haven't changed my wipers in 4 years. How often should one be changing wipers anyway? Haha.

    • Only when they skip, make noise etc.

      • +1

Mmm okay. A bit more. But I will get one now. Thanks op!

        • if you park outside a lot/live in an area with a lot of dust, give your wiper blades a wipe with a damp rag every few days or so.

  • Best wipers I’ve ever had!

  • +1

Have bought a set and will give them a try. Thanks.

  • So the rubber can't be replaced/refilled? How does it compare to Tridon cause currently have Tridon Curved on mine.

    • Hi! based on our testing, we find that just replacing the rubber can be very time consuming for some customers. Not to mention, it's quite a fiddly job. To answer your question, No, the rubber can not be replaced. However, you do get 12 - months warranty with all our products.

I would rather spend a little extra for Bosch Aerotwins or Bosch ICON.

  • +4

Bosch Aerotwins are better, these tend to fail at high speed the blades lift off the windscreen from wind

    • After going aerotwins I wouldn't bother trying anything else

  • I bought these for our Mazda CX-5 in a previous deal, they work well. I'm buying another.

  • +1

    Thanks OP bought some

  • +2

Still nore expensive than bosch aerotwin for my vehicle

    • does Bosch one works with MG MG3 Auto 2020?

  • +1

They're not bad but I noticed these seem to degrade quicker than I'd like but my car is always out in the elements so 🀷

  • +1

Old fashioned wiper blades are really cheap for wholesalers. And you can get the Tridon ones at almost at any time for about $10 from Automotive Superstore. I just price match at Supercheap and pick up down the road in an hour. I can almost get 3 for the price of one new-age one in this deal.

  • +4

    This isn't a deal. $69 for a Hyundai i30. I've never paid > $15

    • where do you get yours?

  • Sorry this is no deal. 56$ delivered for my Ford Falcon 2012…

  • Accord Euro CL quoted at 69, - 13 is 56… pretty expensive considering the comments above

  • i have these and aero twins on two different cars. initially they are little bit smoother than aerotwins but bosch will likely last longer.
