The motherboard is worth $90, leaving you spending $271 on a 3600. Given that prices are set to drop for AMD's 5600X given the new competition, I think we hold.

    • Won't prices potentially go up because of the global chip shortage?

      • +14

The chip shortage is lessening as time goes along. I paid I think $330 for my 5600X? With the performance gains over the 3600 that extra $60 was easily worth it.

Alternatively, get an 11400F and a cheap mobo. Runs circles around the 3600 and costs the same amount as this "deal".

Generally the chip shortage seems to be not affecting CPUs so much, stock and prices have been relatively consistent through the last few years. I doubt they'll go up in the next period, more likely down due to new Intel silicon

      • I think your biggest problem is the lack of Ryzen chips with integrated graphics.
Still having to spend $200+ on a dismal graphics card just to get operational.

What do you mean lack of Ryzen chips with integrated graphics? The 5600g has a very good price right now $340, it has decent integrated graphics and is still better than a 3600.

          • @misu p: So 1 per release, given every chip with intel has the option of graphics and amd offers 2 per generation. Not an intel or amd fanboy, just making an observation that it’s hard to find amd with graphics.

  • Expect more Ryzen discounts in the near future.

    SE's 11400 + B560M bundle(s) are a lot better.

Hard to go past a 10100f or 10105f and a cheap intel mobo if you're just after a budget gaming rig… Can get a 10105f and an MSI B560M Bazooka for $238 delivered at Centrecom.
