Actually I've used this this week and its great.
I've cleaned my driveway (pebblecrete) and was amazingly cleans out all the stains, dirts.

Awesome! How long did it take to clean that area?
Also, have you tried this model to wash cars as a foam cannon? I asked the community a question if you are interested to answer : https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/672258

      • my driveway is pretty long.. about.. 17m? took me about 3 hours to get the job done.
If it wasn't a pebble-crete, might took less.

I haven't tried to wash my cars yet but this Ryobin one has Built-in soap tank so might use that.
Other people go with Karcher ones for car wash.

      • +3

I have one of these too. Haven't tried it with the Ryobi foam cannon attachment or a third party one. But I can confirm that the built-in soap tank is pretty pathetic.

        • I've got this model of pressure cleaner also.

I bought the Ryobi foam cannon and its rubbush, barely makes any foam at all.

I ended up buying a cheap foam cannon off Amazon with a standard quick connect and then just making a Ryobi to quick connect adapter with parts from AliExpress and it works great plenty of foam and good coverage.

Any of the decent third party foam cannons should be good though.

          • @fridayarvo42: please if you can link to parts for quick connect… and which gun

            • +1

@PaKoRa: This should do what you need
              https://a.aliexpress.com/_mNup8cC

(This isn't the exact one I bought as I ordered it 2 years ago, so I can't find the links anymore.)

You'll need the S4 adapter from that listing. (It's the same as the new Bosch AQT, Black and Decker)

I needed the extra adapters because I wanted to use the standard 1/4" quick release fittings aswell and my Dad wanted to borrow the foam cannon to use on his petrol pressure washer. If you've just got the Ryobi you won't need the in between adapters.

              Hope that helps.

      • I have this and takes very long to clean small areas! I am planning to buy the patio attachment another $40 and see if that helps!

I don’t have a ton of time, so hope it helps

      • I went to bunnings today, again, bought Ryobi Pressure Washer Extension Rotary Brush Head, $30 for car wash. (Brush part rotates)
They also have attachment for foam cannon but I will just try with this first.

Fantastic hack for cleaning concrete is a mix of plain dish soap, and pool chlorine.
Of course, always be careful mixing anything with chlorine (though normal soap shouldnt react), and consider the splashback when you pressure wash it off.

I normally buy the 'Glitz' brand of the 'clip onto the hose' bottles, and just add dish soap to the concentrate before hosing on.
Wait 5 minutes, then pressure wash off.

Nothin like bubbles and bleach to make something clean!

      • If it's mould on the concrete, I believe bleach may simply bleach the colour out if it but not necessarily kill or remove it.

        • +1

Very much an old myth. Bleach does kill mould. What it doesn't kill is spores, however you're outside, so you're not stopping those.

    Bargain

  • +7

i have had this and dont recommend yea its strong as most around the same price tbh but the build quality and how the hoses reel up on it is just sub par. Also warranty isnt quite what they claim, have had to replace a few things on mine which didnt count under their warranty…

    • My one just started leaking at the gun and other rubber seals are also starting to crack. Had it probably for 5 years though.

  • -2

I doubt this uses a Ryobi rechargeable battery pack?

    • +1

      no. this is corded.

  • the ozito one shoes as $109 for me. Where did you get $99 from?

  • Can you interchange Gerni attachments on the Ryobi?

    • -2

Gerni deck attachment worked with the Ozito, so I'd say yes.

    • No you cant

  • I brought one ($99) for a friend this week, and the patio attachment was about $50, and nice and large. Well worth it for cleaning paving or large areas. The more expensive model came with a roller-hose, but a smaller patio attachment.

Gerni / Karcher / Ryobi attachments are all proprietary (different) from memory. So if you get say a foam cannon, you need to make sure it's compatible.

Usually the foam cannons come with a Gerni / Karcher adaptor, so if you want to use one with a Ryobi, you'll probably have to use the Ryobi genuine model (also available at Bunnings).

PS No Powerpass discount on Ryobi, but you can collect a few Flybuys points if you want now.

    • +2

The adapter for Ryobi to use foam cannon is the same that is used for Bosch. It doesn't need to be a Ryobi genuine.

  • One more question,..

I guess being pressured one would save water over a normal pressured hose?

  • +3

I have had this for some years now and I can confirm it is rubbish!

    • +4

      But it's lasted you years?

      • Most of those years we were on water restriction so only handful of times.

    • +1

Yea same so much regret buying it… Ryobi is dropping quality that's for sure

    • +5

I have had this for around 3 year and used it many times to clean the driveway and concrete patios etc and the results have been great. Did you actually switch it on? It has some pressure when switched off, but it really comes alive when powered on.

      • -1

        Lol….Logical.

    • I have the similar one with patio cleaning attachment for $120 and using for around 5 years, it is not the best and good pressure, but it does the job. For benefits it offers, I could say it worth the money.

  • +2

How good this is against the Aldi one if anyone here knows?

  • +1

Can the input hose be put eg. in a bucket of water and this machine would pump it out of that? I don't have access to a tap everywhere.

    • How's it going to generate input pressure?

      • +2

Internal pump. Karchers work by placing hose in bucket of water.

    • no

    • TIL! Thanks

    • +2

You might want a bucket like this and use gravity in your favour… Meguiar's 15L Waterwise Bucket With Tap

      • Does that work as good as a tap for a pressure cleaner? Thanks!

  • -2

    How long is the hose?

    • +4

Come on man, laziness at its peak….
It's literally 1 click and a little scroll on away on the link shared by op….
      Don't even know why I'm responding but it's 5m…

      • +4

When i was in bunnings, there was nothing about hose length on box so thought i would ask here. Sorry, should have clicked and checked.

        • +4

No worries I think I was harsh, I do apologise :)

  • Looking at getting one of these but was wondering if anyone knows whether it will draw from a water bladder/bucket rather than garden hose?

  • What's normally the price for this

  • Would it be worth paying $30 more for an extra patio cleaner included with the Gerni 3000 ($129)? The rated max pressure is less for the Gerni but does it matter in the scheme of things?

    • Buy the gerni

      • Thx, any hands on experience with the Gerni?

        • they go good for domestic use

        • +1

Yea my mate has one he bought it instead of the Ryobi after seeing my issues within the first few months. Zero hassles.. Ryobi have some decent stuff but alot of their stuff is cheap crap unfortunately

        • I have a pretty old Gerni, 5+ years. Still works even though it now leaks like a sieve out of the pump area water savings are probably gone!

  • Looking for gerni vs this one

    • Well my Gerni carked it last weekend after about 6-7 years of ownership. Pump went and oil was coming out of the base.
This looks like a good deal, but I have snow foam cannon's and an 8m hose for my Gerni.
      I think I'll just re-buy the Gerni (3300 again)…

Just wish you could buy the base unit, as all the standard wash bottles and deck cleaners are junk..

      • Buy some coupling adaptors and use your old kit on it.

  • So is this technically a “bargain”? Well.. sorta.

It’s RRP is $99 so price-point wise it’s not a bargain, as it’s regular price.

However, is it a “bargain”? Look, if you need a pressure washer at an entry point to clean the car, and have a small ground area/patio to clean, sure. It’s a bargain and I recommend this.

The shortcomings is that it’s not very powerful, at all, and the length of the hose is horrible. You cannot clean the entire car without moving the machine once or twice.

Be wary, get what you pay for.

Ninjaedit: I bought (and still use) one of these from 3 years ago. Zero complaints.

Get the $40 Ryobi hose upgrade from bunnings. Trust me! I wish I had gotten is years ago, makes it a pleasure to use.

    • +1

Would that replace the garden hose or would it connect downstream of the washer?

    • Care to elaborate what that upgrade is for and how it makes it a pleasure?

Did you mean it's simply longer?

    • do you have a link?

  • I bought one to clean the driveway , was really slow and monotonous job. Until I put one of these https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-pressure-washer-extension-… on it. Now it rips it off real quick and is actually fun

    • Yeah I bought one of these last weekend to clean off my tiled patio area and few brick walls. Just had dirt to clean off, no mould. It worked pretty well with the stock attachment, though I did buy the turbo nozzle as well but didn't need it.
For me, this product did its job out of the box.

  • How does this compare to Karcher’s K3 Deck, got it for $269 from Costco last week.

    • +1

K3 way better. I’ve had one for years

  • How's the ozito one compare to this?

  • +1

The rep at Bunnings told us it is on run-out, hence the $99 price. A new model is due out in the new year. There is a detergent bottle on this one too, which is handy when cleaning a driveway or similar with the large patio / paver cleaning add-on.

  • Tempting but thinking on the Dewalt 2320 but that is hundreds more. Heavy duty cleaning needed for many years to come - will have to research some reviews.

  • +1

    lots of 1 star reviews

    • Is this one good? They have other ones on their website but not sure which to go for. Just want to clean car, driveway and cleaning gutters.

  • Would you use this to clean the outside of the house walls? Or will the paint come off? Thanks

    SH

  • What’s the best quality for the price pressure cleaner out there? I’ve been looking at the Bosch battery one. The entry/cheap ones seem like they aren’t worth it.

  • I got the Ryobi washer - and the damn thing zapped me twice! After use, I touched the prong on the plug while winding the power cord up and got the shock of my life. Used it the second time and same thing. Prolly a bad capacitor. Returned it pronto.
