Love how conservatives get mad about ozbargain becoming political but become political on public health orders, vaccines or climate change?

There's nothing political about keeping others safe in the community or saving the planet.

    • +30

Totally true. Despite them throwing around snowflake, cancel culture, all the talk about freedom of speech, they're really trying to cancel this deal.

      Downvote away snowflakes.

  • How they treat politicians in Ukraine…

  • +7

I don't care for 'Scomo' . I don't care for 'Albo' either. But this is not a deal and is not in the spirit of the site imo.

    • How about the beauty single mum sort of fish n chips mum Hanson?

  • +8

Keep politics off this site please. Seriously, there are other avenues.

  • +9

Might as well be posting dogwater is free if this is allowed.

    • -1

      Thanks for paying attention ;)
You don't understand the seriousness of saving money.

Prevention is the cheapest solution. It cost us too much with this incapable government.

  • +1

    Coal bad

    Political stickers are not bargains

    • +1

      They are just plastic landfill.

  • +57

At this point you really have to wonder about people who support the LNP. With all the rorts, inaction, accidents, treatment of aged care, slipping quality of life, real estate costs, failing education, proposal to kick start the economy with 2 million immigrants, sell offs to China(eg: Darwin port, electricity infrastructure in NSW), increase in surveillance, attempting to scare the public with defamation cases, and all the other achievements of the government.

I understand conservative viewpoint and libertarian philosophy but that's not what is represented by the coalition now. It's quite openly a party that transfers wealth from the public pocket to private corporations.

    • -7

I don't support either. We have a failed politically system in Australia.

I will start an ozbargain party and you all vote me in.

Also, just to confirm, Labor destroyed the middle class, and then last federal election, tried to put the nail in the coffin by removing negative gearing. Borrowing to invest is one of the few ways for a family to transition between societal classes.

      In 2022,
      Liberal = classic Labor
      Labor = Greens
Greens = delusional and don't understand that we should be focused on Nuclear power.

      • +9

where do you even start with where this comment is wrong hahaha

        • +6

Hard to imagine anyone could be so stupid, but I guess the LNP does have voters.

      • 7 liberals down voted this most likely from sydney.

    • -2

I support smaller/independent parties with my first preference, however Labor and then greens are always last on the list, so ultimately my preference vote usually ends up with liberals.

It's not ideal but it's the best I can do voting in the current system.

      • +13

That's part of the Liberal strategy. Taking UAP as an example, it's out in the open that the LNP benefitted from the UAP campaign and preferences. Having the LNP in power also benefitted Clive Palmer.

        • Well yeah, it's part of both major parties strategies, both parties will do deal with whoever the hell they need to when it comes to forming a government.

      • Now we know some of our enemies. Thanks for pretending to be honest

    • +6

Indeed. I consider myself conservative and libertarian, but the current government has lost my faith completely. I'm angered and disgusted.

      • +1

        • +2

Ignorant much? There's a whole wonderful world of stuff for you to learn that doesn't get broadcast on telly.

I like the "username checks out" jokes about my username when they are funny or even make sense, everyone is just dying to drop it like a yo mamma joke. Sometimes it's just insulting though.

            Please tell me more.

  • +4

So you have to donate to get the stickers? So you're paying for them….

Basically you just posted spam/politics on here for no reason

    • +7

Free if you email dude. Read the post.

          Reading isn't their strong suit

Their? Is Chmmr a group of people?

  • +3

I think I just gave my first neg. I don't want to encourage politically motivated spam. Next week it'll be Clive Palmer stickers, Greens organically grown plastic lawn signs and LNP sock puppets.

  • I'll take one for every current politician, state and federal. In power or opposition. Sack em all.

      1. Vote Labor
      2. Labor introduces federal ICAC
      3. Federal ICAC starts investigating both major parties
      4. Profit
      • LOL. They can't be trusted to implicate themselves. One Nation wouldn't even decimate the government to the extent necessary.

  • +2

    political propaganda ?

    • +2

It's counter-propaganda actually. For the better of the people

  • +3

What the hell? Although Scomo is an absolute tool.. come on guys! This ain't a bargain.

From the Council. If you want them free email Lindsay.

You can bulk order them to a single address for free (just need to know quantities)

  • While I agree with the sentiment of this sticker and have upvoted for that reason alone, I don't want ozbargain to get filled with this sort of thing from both sides trying to outdo the other.

  • Love a good bargain like this. Cannot wait for my cheap stickers!

    ALL politicians should be binned.

    • +1

Quality has dropped alot in recent decades.

      • My advice - vote for a party that is pushing for a federal ICAC

  • -2

    Bin the commies

    • +11

I don't like Scott Morrison and his party but I wouldn't say they're commies.

      • he was negging and saying that instead of binning Scomo and LNP, should do the reverse binning ALP "commies".

If ALP are Commies, then LNP aren't even Fascists - they're National Socialists.

        • I knew what they meant.

  • +5

Ozbargin should not cover a political view, let's keep it on what it should be helping each other spot bargains.

    • You don't understand the seriousness of saving money.

Prevention is the cheapest solution. It cost us too much with this incapable government.

  • +4

Another political thread. And there's no option to get it for free. You must donate $1.

    • +1

      No you don't.

    • +1

      Read the deal.

      • Emailing someone for an item? How's that free. Im selling my email address to political spam.

        • You better have not voted or posted any free item as that is also selling your email address for spam.

  • +5

    Political propoganda isn't a bargain.

Political advertising material is not a bargain.

  • +8

Look if we can have Barnaby Joyce’s book as a OzBargain deal we can have this, stop being special little snowflakes and get on with it..

  • +4

    Belongs in my spam folder

  • +3

I find it Ironic that they talk about smart energy, yet don't take into consideration the energy wasted to produce these stickers. How long before they become landfill?

  • +1

Ouck! It's exactly this sort of divisive political stuff that needs to be kept off of OzB.
Also, what's the projected carbon footprint of this operation?
Also, visual pollution?! I don't want to drive down the street looking at 50 scomo heads.
Also, other than @Jav no one on here is saving the world so chill out.

  • +4

political propaganda should not be allowed

  • +4

    Keep the politics out

  • +1

I just hope the issue of coal, climate change or other mining things do not divide Australian politics as what the gun control, abortion, election/free speech or other topics dividing that of the US. From some of posts/comments above, which I genuinely hope are lighthearted, It seems we need to be mindful about politicalising everything. And best of all, to the Mod, it might not be a good idea to have politics on a community bargain hunting site.

  • 195-55 sounds like an easy win for Labor so far lol

    • +10

Yeah but do not forget the quiet Ozbargainers

      • -5

Dallassy why don't you ask Mods for weightings of negs and positive votes on the site and you will see how badly your post is going .
BTW well done on over 60 + negs in less than a hour . Very rare .

        • +4

Yeah this post is so bad that it has 250+ positive votes.

          • -1

@Gehirn: Another clueless person who doesn't understand weightings .

            • @popsiee: I don't need weightings to see that the majority agree with this.

              • -1

                @Gehirn: I reckon normally 30 + to 1 neg .
Work it out from there Einstein how well this thread is going :)

                • @popsiee: Don't need to be Einstein to see at the moment 320+ votes to 80- votes means more than 3/4 agree with the post.

                • @popsiee: Yeah but it's pretty stupid to assume that the normal weighting that applies to regular bargain posts applies to a bargain with a political nature.
Also isn't there literally studies on this that people with right-wing tendencies tend to be much more vocal on the internet?

              • @Gehirn:

                • Positive vote requires no comment
                • Negative vote requires a comment

Look at comments with a - vs those with a +

    • +2

Not really, since ozb's weird rules make it harder to downvote.

  • +9

Regardless of the message, free political advertising is not a deal.

  • +6

    Political propaganda is no bargain

  • ozbargain opinion poll predict…

  • +12

OzBargain is full of hypocrites: you see these dumbasses commenting on various posts about their dictation on products/companies/countries and calling it 'freedom of speech', yet they say here that 'no politics or religion should be discussed'.

I don't favour either the Liberal or the Labor, but seeing all these negative votes simply reminds me of how fake the system is.

    • +2

I’m with you, especially when it comes to China it becomes free speech not political propaganda

  • What makes you think people wont get the free stickers and destroy them instead? Helping their own campaign by blocking your propaganda.

Just fyi I have no horse in this race, so this was just an idea!

  • +3

My feelings on this 'offer' are mixed but, strictly speaking, I can't see it as a bargain. I myself actually spent the $20 for the stickers and will put them on my bins but I can't see how being required to email and request free stickers is attractive to anyone who wouldn't otherwise be willing to at least cover the postage to help sustain the initiative. Being that this poll is as binary as party politics makes the upcoming federal election (Plato wouldn't call it democracy), I have no choice but to vote negative. This may be ironic considering I would vote in a labrador ahead of Morrison as a dim witted dog would likely be more competent and less divisive in his attitude. We may be able to choose between thousands of new tech products each year but I would rather be an empowered citizen and have more choice about who represents us. Polls related to complex phenomena (politics, morality, justice etc) lend themselves to binary popularity contests between 'us' and 'them' where the independent mind and individual conscience give way to ideological and/or religious fundamentalism.

  • +4

Agree with the sentiment, but I have this site bookmarked so I can impulse buy shit I don't need. I have other websites I go to if I want to talk politics.

  • +5

ScoMo has not done a good job in the recent covid wave.
He didn't do a good job for the past wave as well.

    • ScoMo has been rubbish, he's was good for the first few months of Covid but reverted to form (trash) since. That's still no excuse to wreck ozbargain with political landfill. It's only going to worse from here with elections coming up
