      • @ihfree ESPECIALLY FOR YOU. THEY'RE GONNA TAKE OUR JOBS! 🤣

        • DEY TERK ER JERRBBS!!

On a more serious note(but not too serious a note), its an interesting one. What effect would 2 million extra immigrants have on the labour market? Is the Liberal party's proposal for Australians or for big business?

With Covid and immigration pausing, a lot of friends have seen their salaries increase.

It is quite interesting how wealth has transferred during the pandemic and the hand the LNP government have had in it.

          • @ihfree: serious eh? 2 million extra immigrants at once? or staggered over x amount of time? if the immigrants are from countries with a lower standard of living then of course the lnp want them as they want to keep wages low to please their wealthy supporters & these immigrants then have a chance to raise their standard of living. do you think the raise in your friends salaries is due to reduced immigration during covid or the great resignation that has happened in developed countries around the world? u know a famous poLIARtician (not emotional, just distrust all of them), let's call him jughead, once said on tv that Jesus knew there was only so much room in Australia & it was not for everyone to come to Oz. jughead was from the same party now calling for increased immigration. go figure.

            • @mjuice7: 2 million over 5 years. Dom is supportive of a big NSW.

do you think the raise in your friends salaries is due to reduced immigration during covid or the great resignation that has happened in developed countries around the world?

AFAIK, this is due to reduced immigration and shortages in their industry.

Jesus knew there was only so much room in Australia

              Lol.

@ihfree: I don't have a problem with immigration as long as the infrastructure is in place & wages/salaries aren't forced down due to immigration. doubt if that won't happen however.

                • @mjuice7:

I don't have a problem with immigration as long as the infrastructure

At least in NSW, that's a huge failing on behalf on the LNP government. I often wonder why I live in Sydney as there's so much traffic, crowded public transport, low quality housing.

The time into the city from where I live had increased via public transport.

Then there's the disproportionate tolls for people living in lower socio-economic areas. There are no facilities or infrastructure in many new neighbourhoods which may be unlivable in the future due to temperature increases.

                  • @ihfree: got nothing to offer here but agreement. when was the last time anyone spotted a pollie on public transport unless it was for a photo opportunity. u can now maybe see why i don't trust them. they may start out with good intentions & i'm sure some remain true to their principles but some slide into dodgy behaviour. recall scumo flying corman around europe during a pandemic when us plebs were all locked down so he could become head of the oecd. this was done at taxpayers expense as it was for the prestige of australia. i know i didn't give a toss about whether corman became head of the oecd. they sicken me with their brazen corrupt behaviour. the 2 party system needs to smashed.

                    • @mjuice7: Ahh yes, the whole Corman affair. Proof that Scomo can hold a phone if it's to sabotage climate change efforts. Sadly, getting Australia vaccinated didn't warrant holding a phone.

they sicken me with their brazen corrupt behaviour.

Can't disagree here. The media that fails to hold them to account are also complicit. Where's the federal ICAC? One with teeth? Why criticize NSW's ICAC and defend Gladys.

the 2 party system needs to smashed.

We're not escaping it anytime soon. Anything is an improvement over the current Liberal government.

The Liberal party, imo, has been gutted by successive coups and what is left is the absolute dregs. They are lazy and incompetent and only in it for themselves. They take being voted back in as voter approval and justification for their corrupt behaviour. They are a shadow of what they used to be.

Liberals like a free market so it makes sense.

        • +1

          In theory, yes.

In practice, not so much - they hand out subsidies to fossil fuel, job keeper which benefits big business, interfere with news and big tech, etc

They also appeal to a crowd who fear immigration, so I'm always interested to hear their opinions on this idea floated by the Liberals.

    Heading 1 warning

it is not free, It ask me to "donate" = Pay $20 dollars for a pack.

    • -2

Incorrect. As low as $5 or free

      • +1

At least some of us classify data as not free .

          • +1

@Korban Dallas: To start our Kinder Garden course on power info/data is the greatest currency going around .
And do you believe that ?

            • @popsiee: If you are really concerned:

              Fake name
              Po box
              Disposable email
              Fake mobile
              Prepaid debit card

If you are saying this and not doing that^

How is Facebook going for you?

              • +1

@Korban Dallas: Sure a few people might go to those lengths for what a free sticker .
But most aren't going to click privacy tabs and be bothered hence they will end up with decent data .

                • -1

@popsiee: Sure let's get a VPN, tin foil hat, running in a VM and Tor browser on the neighbours WiFi network with tracker blockers.

The lengths are actually easier than you think.

If you use a password manager all this stuff is prefilled including addresses and such.

                • @popsiee: Big data, yes.

This data - probably a lot less valuable. What are they going to do with it? Try and sell you some laminated coal or solar panels?

a very cheap way to ask people for $5 and obtain personal information.
There is no free option at all

If I wanted to see partisan (don’t care whichever party) memes and propaganda I would have gone to reddit and twitter. No deal.

    Great, more littering

Five days on, I'm increasingly convinced that this is the most pointless thread in the history of OzBargain…

    • -3

Anything that shines a light on the government's corruption is a good thing regardless of your political leanings. Even with this thread, the sticker is working as intended.

Or we could wait for nature to take it's course and for school/uni holidays to end…

    • We can prevent the need for stickers in the future and other environmental impacts by pushing for a Royal Commission into Murdoch press.

Bin them all. Put Labor, Liberals and the Greens DEAD LAST. Number every box.

  • I've always wondered if the OzB community is more left-leaning or right-leaning.
I suppose it all depends on which way your car turns more - left or right !!!
    Am I right ?
Don't wanna feel left out :|

  • I don't think "there have been previous similar deals posted" should be a validation for political advertising.

    • -2

It's not that ozbargain is left wing. It is the right is sooo far right most people are left now.

  • Has anyone got their stickers yet? I am so annoyed at Scomo and would feel much better after protesting on my garbage bin.

  • Mine arrived as well!

  • Got mine last week.

Anyone enjoying the LNP imploding. I recon labor is going to pick up 90 seats.
