Free when you are asked to donate $10 to receive a sticker ? 👎

How is emailing a Council with no guarantee of receiving 1 Sticker for Free a Deal ?

The 'FREE' Part of this original Header Post should be DELETED by Mods as this is just Click Bait SPAM 👎

Encourage ALL to notify MODS the Free part of this Click Bait Spam should be Deleted

    • Free when you are asked to donate $10 to receive a sticker ? 👎

Donation is optional. Therefore, if you don't donate, it's free.

The 'FREE' Part of this original Header Post should be DELETED by Mods as this is just Click Bait SPAM 👎

By the same token, should deals which are unlikely to be fulfilled (example: pricing errors, or some cashbacks) be DELETED. The way it works for other deals is that they're negged after they are unfulfilled. Why do you think this should be different?

Im voting Green everywhere now, much easier then finding who is less shitty, they all are. At least Im disrupting the pile.

    • +8

Even if you support labor and not the greens, it is better to vote the greens so that we can have a hung parliament, this great video can explain what that is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnzaiYrvvrw

      • +1

LOL thanks for this, very educational ^^

      • I fcken knew it! Thanks for confirming.

      • +1

I vote greens and that's still not true. Greens are going to win Labor electorates not LNP electorates. You don't improve the situation or increase the number of seats for the for guys. If you want to make a difference you need to go independent that can win seats the LNP (possibly Labor but less likely). Zali Steggall is an example. If Labor comes up short they will cut a deal with independents before they cut a deal with the greens.

The senate is a different matter.

      • +1

Hung parliament sounds good in theory… but then no one agrees on anything and nothing gets done for 3 years.

      • +1

        Preferences

        1. Independent
        2. Greens
        3. Labor
    • So… you're going to decide who is best to vote for by… not actually looking into it and just voting Greens?

Genuine suggestion man, go and read the policies each party puts out and vote accordingly. Don't throw your vote away.

Say no to politics on Ozbargain!

  • +7

This is not a bargain! 👎
This is Twitter or Reddit stuff.
Please don’t politicise this platform and keep it politics-free

    • +2

Exactly. Just show me decent bargains, not this crap.

  • +9

Political ads don't belong on OzB, nor is this a deal.

  • I’ve never seen this many downvotes XD

  • +2

    Making a donation is not a deal…

  • +14

I don't even know how conservative voters could like Morrisson, he's particularly inept and stupid.

Even if you like the libs (hey, you do you) Morrison is a total moron.

  • +3

No. Not here. This is ozbargain and got nothing to do with your political views or politics.

  • +3

Any deals on "Vote Ozbargain Party" stickers?

  • +4

This shouldn’t be on OzBargain and it’s ridiculous that we aren’t supposed to Neg it.

I’ve never Negged a post on OzBargain before but this one is getting my first, even if it gets removed for BS reasons.

  • +4

Since when has political statements been a bargain?

  • -1

But Scotty fixed my internet! It took only 20 years of telling him!

  • +2

    I hate politics.
instead of wasting paper & plastic by "Green council", they should spend money on actual educating people to use solar related products.
Politicians are exempted from verbal contract and that contract is binding until you cast your vote and it includes all parties.

  • +2

not free… keep politics out of ozb

  • +1

It is not available for free so no deal

  • +3

    I popped my neg cherry

  • +2

To supposedly get the stickers for 'free' (yet to be confirmed) send Linsey an e-mail…

"Lindsey has over 10 years experience in marketing and communications…"

    • Seems Lindsey is good at marketing if this post is allowed on OzBargin!
  • not free

  • +4

He is definitely gone next election

    • +5

Thought the same thing last time.

      • +1

Absoloutely this, thought labor finally had a winning plan that surely the people will rally behind.

        • Bill Shorten never got over his Christian Porter style baggage.

    • He would be hoping so …he will get a $20k per month severance package (the equivalent of winning set for life lotto). Plus can still earn extra income however he would like.

This rediculous payment should be voted on, on a deserved basis. Look at all the past Muppets who have received it, but never should have

      Scomo - nup
      Mal - nup
      Tony Abbott - nup

… I could keep going, but we all get the picture.

  • +5

Wow. This post really blew up in less than 4 hrs….

    Super hot topic/deal

  • +6

Good thing Clive Palmer and Australia United spamming Party have not heard about OB…yet 😜

  • Interesting to see OZB deal having so many down votes LOL

  • +1

    Thanks OP, just bought some.

  • +6

Not a fan of Scott, but also not a fan of devisive political posts on ozbargain that barely qualify as a bargain when being generous.

  • +6

    So far 82% - 18% for FckScomo

  • +1

Are there any other meme stickers they could make?

I think a good one would be the dog with house on fire:

    https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DQPkOKVV4AA9WWj.jpg

Except with Scomo in a hawaii tshirt sitting there.

  • +8

Honestly this shouldn't be on here. Ozbargain should be a place to discuss actual deals and products than to propagate political discussion and pander to political views. I'm sure a lot of people who genuinely just want to find deals will feel ostracized from this community as well. Finding bargains is a hobby for most of us, and I don't believe people want to deal with politics in their hobbies.

Furthermore due to the amount of restrictions made with negative voting guidelines, the proportion of positive votes to negative notes is a bit irrelevant since the negative voting guidelines prohibits people from simply downvoting the post while there are no restrictions to upvoting.
Not a fan of scott, but I don't want to deal with politics in the things do in my off time

    • United we stand, divided we fall.

    • Agree re different rules for upvoting and downvoting. Any difference and requirement to provide a certain type of comment, will have impact on negative voting.

    • -1

      Lol

  • +1

    Political trash isn't a deal.

  • +3

Mods revoke legitimate deals with humour because they are "joke posts" but leave blatant political posturing?

Good to know where the line is as the descent into a formerly great site begins…

  • +2

What's the record for most negged deal ever?

A new benchmark for loathed posting and inept moderation awaits…

  • +1

How are these guys a registered charity?

  • This is political advertising, not a deal.

    • -3

posts like these are the exact same as the Jordan Peterson or Merc 'bargains' that are posted to trigger people

  • I'm very disappointed with the fact that there isn't one for the "other" side…

Surely "All - Bin - Easy" was a gimmie if it's to stick on bins!

  • +2

This is pathetic political narrative masquerading as a deal where you need to pay. Heck even if free, this is biased and has hidden interest than the product itself.

  • +5

    OzWokeBargain

    • +2

Yeah, I dislike scomo and think he is destroying the core of Australia but on the same hand don't want infighting of our great community

    • +5

You don't have to be "woke" to think sQomo belongs in the bin.

    • +5

So if someone doesn't support the Liberal Party, they're "Woke"?

  • +7

How is this a deal if it's "free" sticker that you need to donate for? Also why is Ozbargain allowing clearly derogatory material to be given a platform?

  • wow didn't think I'd ever say this but OzBargain is starting to feel a lot like whirlpool/Reddit and dare I say it Twitter/Facebook

Moving away from the intention of the site which I believe was to share legitimate bargains with other consumers, is now becoming a place a 'bargain' can be whatever is free

Am just waiting for the Pro-ScoMo stickers to appear (however unlikely) to see if there'll be a balanced adjudication by the mods

    • see if there'll be a balanced adjudication by the mods

      Been there, done that:

Stop Adani Sticker Pack from ACF (Free, Requires Registration)
Free #StartAdani T-Shirt and Stickers @ Adani Facts

      As you should remember.

      • +5

Wow. That’s a solid graceful reply.

        • -5

Childish comes to mind when calling people out like that. Wasn't necessary, cheap shot mod.

        • +11

          It's a perfect reply, really.

They demonstrated that OzBargain have consistently treated these types of deals equally, regardless of which side of the political spectrum it's from.

All of the negative voters in this thread are pleading with OzBargain to take a biased approach and ban this post in particular.

          • +1

@Alderson: Except that making examples of individuals had no necessity to demonstrate the point, especially if mod is unbiased as you imply. Note no other individual called out by a mod here (in 8 pages) today.

Just don't like seeing ozb like this tho, the back and forth with personal attacks rolls on many other sites, do we really need it here.

            • +5

@pakkapie: It's not a personal attack. Poster was upset about this post existing yet neglected that when a post for a free item aligned politically to their views, they had no issues. This was highlighted to show that not only does ozbargain mods have balance, but the poster was disingenuous in acting outraged because they disagreed with the politics of the post and wanted to have a sook.

Is it cancel culture to shut down something you don't like or do they not call it that when your political views are slanted to the right?

              • @baz3189: It is typically the hand-wringing Left that likes to cancel what is contrary to their chosen stance; relics of history for instance.

                • +1

@Lets Go Brandon: If you buy into the culture wars, then you are being played. There are a few people on both sides who try to cancel things they don't like, one side weaponises it far more to draw in the politically illiterate and target them as if it's impacting them.

              • +1

@baz3189: Moderators should remain about people's individual comments and interactions on the site when not relevant. This behaviour is personal rather than remaining unbiased as possible. Should've stopped before the personal reference.

                • +1

@cookie2: Disagree. You're trying to turn this into a personal attack angle rather than acknowledging the hypocrisy that was the purpose of the post being highlighted.
Straight out of the deflection handbook.

            • @pakkapie: Agreed. One instance of anecdotal evidence does not make a convincing argument. I could provide an example to the contrary, but that would be just starting a fight with a mod.

      • +3

Maybe you guys can make it easy for a lot of people to have politics as a subdivision to make a easy block .

Especially with the Fed Election approaching .

        • +1

          make a easy block .

If you're successful as you make out, maybe you could sponsor some pro-LNP themed bin stickers and post them here. The only thing stopping those stickers existing is the lack of can-do capitalism.

          • @ihfree: So i could start a registered charity like the one in this "deal" to gather tax free donations so i can make my own plastic bin stickers.

            • +1

@heal: Sure, go for it. If you're giving them away, you can post them here.

      • +6

This post seems to be directly about a political party and trying to push them out of government by a company that does not sell stickers or products to compare the original/current pricing… started as free, then was a $1 donation, then $5, now $10… so it's gone up 10x in price and it's still considered a bargin?

I understand you 'might' get a free sticker if you send an e-mail to a person that but nowhere has that been confirmed and it's not stated on the website either (surely it should be validated?) I've emailed the address to ask and had no reply/confirmation.. .nothing!!!

To me seems all speculation at this point to essentially raise funds/donations for a political view/campaign…

Also, the person arranging this lists on their website: "Lindsey has over 10 years experience in marketing and communications….."
        - Seems she's come up with a fantastic marketing ploy and really pushing the OZB rules to allow this IMHO….

I agree with many OBZ users, keep politics out of this great site no matter what side you are on…

      • Maybe it's an opportunity to set a standard on the types of content the team would like on the website rather than being dictated to by previous choices/allowances.

  • +4

Why do people think saying "I'm not a fan of either party, they're all corrupt" makes them sound smart? It just shows how uninformed you are.

    • You are mega smart for saying this dude, give yourself a pat on the back

      • +2

        dont get too triggered buddy

        • Triggered much?

  • +4

This is not the place for politics. No one will agree with any party/leader who is in power during a global pandemic.

    • +16

No one will agree with any party/leader who is in power during a global pandemic.

WA was pretty happy with Labor in the election last year.

      • +6

Can't argue with that. Lots of salty conservatives on here.

      • They call that Stockholm Syndrome where the people of WA fell in love with their captors. :)

        • +2

I take it you don't live in WA then. We've had very few restrictions on our individual freedoms over the last two years. WA hasn't stopped me leaving the state at any point. Yes, it has been difficult to get back into the state but that's not actually the definition of captivity. Up until recently it was only the Federal Government restricting me from leaving the country.

  • +3

Is it just me or is it getting tense here

  • +3

What about the children? Won't somebody think of the children!?!

  • +6

This is even less of a bargain than the RAT tests. Politics, mainly of the left wing kind has taken over this site recently.

  • +2

For all the noise the 'silent majority' are making here, they're getting outvoted (and outnumbered) 5:1 lol

    • Just like some fields only 1 % succeed 99% fail .
      I don't think the 99% are retiring at 30 .
My bad that was me before I'm off again .
BTW can I do some magic and say you are 39 .
