    Takes batteries :(

If you don't have Eneloops yet, get off ozbargain

    • +5

This is a plus in my book

    • +4

Great, means you're never stuck with a mouse that won't hold charge and has to be thrown out.

  • +2

These are actually really bloody comfortable. Click and scroll wheel sound and feel decent too.

  • budget logitech mx master

  • +1

One of the best mouse I have used,5 buttons and able to control 3 devices at a click. Every button is customisable and you can assign preset actions or even macros to each button

    • Can you customise side buttons for certain applications (i.e excel copy and paste)?

      • Yes you can

    • +1

same for me this is the best mouse, tried a few logitech Anywhere, MX, Triathlon and this is my first Microsoft and it's already my favourite. Retired the logitech as a backup.

  • +3

Only downside is it doesn't support customisation on macOS

    • +3

      I mean, it is a Microsoft mouse…

  • Also budget Bluetooth mouse is $14 (50%off)

Can the wheel be made to scroll without the clicking feel (like the Logitech MX Master series can?) - I love that feature but don't need most of the other features of the MX so i'm ready to buy this.

    • +2

No. Scrolling with clicking feel only.

      • +2

Bummer, thanks for answering. Saved me $39

  • probably won't replace my logitech m720 but good addition to the collection

    • I have the m720 too, it came with a keyboard which I also absolutely love. But, the scroll on the mouse annoys me and there isn't room for my thumb to rest - unlike the Microsoft ergonomic mouse. Interesting that you like it though, I guess it's personal preference.

      • i have small hands, but don't like mice that are too small. 720 fits my hand just right, i suppose. oh, and turrrrbo scroll ;)

      • M720 suppose multiple devices

  • The Microsoft Modern Mouse is also on sale for $27 at HN, OW and Amazon in case anyone wants a more portable bluetooth mouse.

I have both I prefer this one

      • Is there much size and weight difference between them? I'm after something to keep in my laptop bag but it won't be my primary mouse.

      • +1

Same this is bigger than the midden mouse but can control 3 devices with a click.

PS it feels more comfortable too

  • Do these come in left handed versions?

  • +2

I ordered mine from officeworks and just picked up an hour ago.
my usual mouse is a mx master 3.
i like the material of this better, but the scroll on the mx master 3 is heaps better.
i'll be using this as my primary for a few days and see how it goes.

comes with 2x duracell batteries installed.

    • keep an eye on those batteries - they aren't nicknamed duraleaks for no reason..

    • I was looking at the MX Master 3 for a while now, but this one is a lot cheaper, do you think the MX Masster 3 is worth the price difference?

      • +1

        too early to say.
i like this mouse's material better (plastic). the mx master 3 has rubbery bits.

        • thanks for the reply, oh yep, forgot you only just got it haha.
I'll try pick the Microsoft one up tomorrow, hard to beat at that price I reckon.
          Cheers

I picked up the Microsoft mouse 2 days ago and have been using the MX Master 3 for a year now.

I think I would prefer the MX over Microsoft for daily use. MX feels better built and grounded. Microsoft mouse feels very light (probably coz I'm used to the MX Master). Also, the MX scroll is unbeatable.

But, if you ask me which one's a better value for money, I would side with the Microsoft.

        • +1

Thanks for the insight, I ended up picking up the Microsoft one, completely agree about it being better value. Went with the black, though I liked the look of the Glacier (white) colour too.

I tried my work mate's MX Master 3, and the scroll is awesome. Happy with the Microsoft one still

    • +1

Oh I just installed the software and the scroll can be configured to work like the mx master 3.
      it's called accelerated vertical scrolling.
      love it!

      • Do you mean the clicky feeling will go when the wheel is spun fast enough?

        • +1

it's still got the clicky feel. but it works the same as the mx master 3 in my limited testing.
i personally do not have a preference, as long as the accelerated vertical scroll works the same way as the mxm3

I was about to buy this but realised that it uses 2xaaa battery.

    • +5

      Can't see the issue personally.

  • This VS Logitech MX Anywhere 2?
    It’s currently $50.33 @amazon.

  • Got one thanks. Now just need a good keyboard!

    • Logitech k780. Don't get the Microsoft Bluetooth one (basic one at least).

      • +1

I was going to get this MS keyboard. Is this the one you are referring to?
        https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B085RVS5RF/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt…

        • +1

Yes, that is the one. Do not buy it! Issues:

          • Kept losing connection after a period of time. Had to un-pair and re-pair it! Windows 11.

          • Mushy typing feel. Didn't like it much at all.

          • No power switch.

          • Only one device support. Not great in 2022 and with no USB option, really turned me off.

Looks ok but I like the more compactness of the K780. And the feel, and the device support…..

  • Not recommended for use with MacOS?

  • Does it come with a USB Dongle? If not, how could I conmect the mouse to my desktop PC?

    Cheers.

    • +4

Literally in the name of the product.

    • NO. Bluetooth only.
