I also highly recommend you get one of these if you have an eScooter. Good to check the air pressure every week or 2 and so easy to top up.

AliExpress coupons have worked for me every single time with cashback. AliExpress push coupon codes hard to their affiliate partners and often have commission incentives for them to be pushed. Source: associated with some AliExpress stores and successful tracking ;)

All cashback sites have that disclaimer just in case the merchant decides to decline and some do.

  • How good is this to pump a medium size gym ball?

    • Can't say for sure how good it is but I know it'll work because their PSI is low compared to a tyre.

    • it can pump car tires. I would say it would do just fine, provided it has the right attachment.

      • I've one of these pumps and it comes with a little pouch for the pump and a zip lock little pocket with all the attachments you'd need for most stuff.

      • The attachment you mentioned is that with the 6 piece bundle or comes by default?

        • the unit comes with 2 attachements (for me anyway). a needle (for balls) and a presta valve adaptor (for certain bike tires). The default can be used for car/bike tires. Depends on what the gym ball uses, but id say it would need something like this.

          • @Grandpipe: Thank you for your detailed response. If the default ones work then I can just go with that

    • +4

Gym ball more like inflatables I think which means you need a high volume low pressure pump. This one is for high pressure low volume like tyres. Might work but I would think it would take ages.

      • I have the original (7L/pm) and tried to use it to blow a normal balloon. Even that takes ages.

  • +3

Alternative that i picked up was this one as it doubled as a power bank
    Here

    • What do you think of it? Does it function as described? The reviews seem mostly positive except: "It takes long time to charge, and run out of battery fast."

      • I pumped up 4 4x4 tyres 10 psi each and it ran well.
Surprisingly doesn't get hot like others I've tried and works great as a powerbank, although the valve does get hot.

Probably needs about 5 mins a tyre to pump each one up but so far has worked great

Admittedly anything with 8000mah of battery would take a while though. It is double the size of the others

        • Thanks very much for the info. I think I’ll get this one over the Xiaomi.
I can’t see the flow rate anywhere - do you know what it is? Is it listed in the manual? Interested to know what it is compared to the Xiaomi (15L/min).

        • Price jacked from $31.24US to $53.87US :-(
          No purchase from me.

          • @snapper: Had to be quick ;)
Wouldnt say the price was jacked, just reverted to its RRP
Although it regularly goes back below $50

          • @snapper: @snapper Check Here AU $58.33 for me, I'm tempted to buy this one.

            • @danielglongo: or here.
              Different models though:

              • AP002 = US$31.69 (only 5000mAH)
              • AP014 = US$36.65
              • AP015 = US$36.65

Not sure what the difference is between AP013 (Draksey's I believe) and AP015.
AP014 has SOS lights - is that a bad thing??

              [edit: oh crap, + GST]

              • @SlickMick: Thanks all for the suggestions. Was hoping to combine with 20% CR. I was too slow.

    • What about this one on ebay (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/403243115119)? How does it compare? The ebay one (unbranded) also functions as a power bank, and is cheaper than the Xiaomi (just looks bulkier). Some sellers even sell it for cheaper than A$49.99.

  • @ hongkong willvast Store

Based on my experience with AliExpress, 100% guaranteed neither the store nor the item is in Hong Kong!

    • +3

Then it would be in China - no difference really. However it does use AliExpress Standard Shipping so it'll be going to one of their distribution warehouses around the world first.

      • +5

In my experience, AliExpress standard shipping is one of the faster free/cheap shipping methods from China.

        • +3

Yep. The way it works is the seller ships your order to an AliExpress distribution warehouse. "AI" then works out the best shipping method to send your order with. Sometimes it's a lottery but you usually end up on top.

          • +4

@Clear: They also combine your packages whenever possible. Usually works out better too.

            • @Pacbough: If I'm ordering small items I always try to order them at the same time because there's a good chance they'll be combined. Otherwise they'll take forever to arrive or sometimes not at all.

Fortunately the AliExpress dispute process around missing packages is much better now.

            • @Pacbough: Interesting, I have never had packages combined and ordered quite a lot around a year ago.

        • Do you by any chance know the difference between the standard shipping v selection standard?

          • @Riqodex: Sorry, I haven't seen the selection shipping option before. Googling it indicates it is the same as AliExpress standard shipping.

  • +1

    Will it pump car tyres?

    • +7

It will but likely at a slow pace. I've used it to go from completely flat to 35psi (with the wheel on the car). It took about 5-10 mins but it worked.

    • +3

Yes. I have the old version that I pump car tyres, scooters, bikes and balls. It pumps car tyres slowly, but as you can set the end pressure, I let It pump the tyre and I do something else

I got mum the USB C version. She loves it, it is quicker and also uses it for her caravan tyres.

The best best feature, is the pump stays turned off when you insert the pump connector back into the device, so it does turn on accidentally in a bag or boot of your car.

Thevnew one does not require you to take off the presta valve (high pressure bike tyres) to get to the car/electric scooter tyre valve (Schrader). The old version requires you to take off the Schrader valve to get to the presta valve, which means a risk off losing the small Schrader valve.

I also have the Baseus 4000mAh LED Tyre Inflator Portable Mini Air Compressor, which I do not recommend if you want to put in a bag, or carry in your boot. As, it turns on if the power button presses against something. But, if you aren't doing this, then I recommend it over the Xiaomi due to the better storage onboard for ball pump connector.

The Xiaomi saves me visiting my service station to pump tyres.

      • Is this the new one then as opposed to the old one you mention so don't have to take off the presta valve?

        • Sorry, old one you have to take off presta valve to get to Schrader (car) valve. New one (USB C) you don't, as the car valve is the first one, and presta is behind it (i.e to use presta valve you unscrew car valve).

I put this in my bike or electric bike front bag to take with me on rides.

      • Can these devices pump air while it's connected to a power source ?

        • Negative
I don't even think usb can deliver the power required

      • Not sure that's a good idea (storing it in a car).

If stored there fully charged the battery will be flat out lasting for a year before it is at half capacity, unless your car is only seldom left in the sun.

Lithium Ion batteries (esp cheap ones) quickly degrade (succumb to dendrite formation) very quickly when hot.

Nothing that depends on Li-Ion power in a car lasts very long- particularly if you need the battery to last when you do want to use it, eg in the odd emergency.

    • yes, i do top ups with this

    • Yeah, mine just manages to get my 5 tires from 30ish to 38psi in a charge, gets very hot in the tube though, and takes like 20 mins.
Great for bike and wheelbarrow though

  • I got one during previous deals and only received it recently, have used it once so far and found that it gets super hot and had to give it a break after the 3rd car tyre before could do the fourth. I guess it’s good to have for some sorta emergency but I’ll probably just go to the servo coz it’s quicker.

    • +1

You had to pump 4 flat tyres?

      • +2

No not flat, from around 28 psi to 32 psi

    • +1

Same here, it gets too hot and cuts out if you run it for too long.

      • If it didn't, I'd be worried.

  • +1

I’ve got the new USB-C model. It’s fantastic especially for the size of it. I also have the Milwaukee M12 inflator and while it’s faster then the Mi pump, it’s also a lot larger.
I use the Mi pump for my e-scooter tyres and basketballs.

    • The Milwaukee M12v is a portable inflator, right ?
How do you find it ?
I just learnt about it, from your post,
and I got curious about it.
( at least, if I other Milwaukee equipment,
      I can re-use the batteries )

      • +1

Correct. The Milwaukee inflator is one of my favourite tools. I also had the Dewalt 18v inflator but I sold it as the Milwaukee was quicker and more portable. It’s a very solid little unit. The Mi pump is 1/3 of the size of the Milwaukee. I can easily chuck the Mi pump in a backpack if I go for a long scooter ride. They both serve different functions for me and I’m glad I have both.

  • +2

Thanks OP I didn't know I had a pump sized hole in my heart, but I do now, and it will be filled when my new purchase arrives. :-)

  • +1

These are great for people with balls…. 😉

  • Thank you OP. Got one. 20% CR has tracked as well.

  • +3

Thanks; grabbed one and 100% cashback tracked through SocialGood. Cheers.

    • what does cashback mean?

    • Amateur question. How do I search for the product through social good? I search Xiaomi air pump and lots of listings come up but I can't find the one in thenl post.

      • Search for the product id - will take you straight there.

        1005002998277575

        • Hm, I must be doing something wrong. When I search the product ID I get other items.

  • how accurate is the psi reading? may get it for trackdays.

  • Chances of getting an original MI pump on this one?

I have had vast performance differences on same MI products brought from official MI store/site and third party, anyone else noticed that?

  • Does it come with a presta valve adapter?

  • +1

Are these any good for 90-100PSI, for road bike bicycle tyres? Is it small enough to take with you in a jersey pocket? Currently using the CO2 canisters. Would this be an alternative?

    • +1

Too big to carry in back pocket

    • Can it attach to a road bikes Presta valve?

    • +3

They can pump presta tyres and do it well. They're bulky though so would not replace the canisters.

      • Thanks

  • can I pump inflatable paddle board? I can't find the right needle.

    • No, this pump is for high pressure inflatables like tyres and balls. What you need is a high volume air pump.

      • thanks for replying

  • Can you pump car tyres with this? Saves me from going to petrol station? Does it have the right attachment? Thanks in advance

    • Yes. will do 4 tyres

      • Ok but the 6 piece attachment does it include the car tyre one I can't confirm

        • +2

The one on the device by default is the generic standard for tyres.

          • @Xistn: Thank you very helpful i could not tell by the listing

        • It's listed in the description on AliExpress multiple times that this is for pumping car tyres, yes.

    • +2

don't be lazy, read previous comments

      • -5

Not lazy read above did not see attachment

  • cashback now 5% - no deal

  • I have this. Its good for topping up but cant fill more than 3 tyres from flat though.

    • Hi mate I only need it for top up. Do you need to buy the bundle attachments? Does it comes with the car tyre attachment?

      • +1

Comes with car attachement. The only attachment I needed was for my exercise gym ball, but already had one lying around

  • I purchased mine recently from a different seller, USD 37.76 with case from
    https://a.aliexpress.com/_mKgipNe

    • +1

      Significantly more expensive now.

  • +1

What's the difference with the GL and CN versions?

    • +3

The packaging of the GL is in English and Chinese in CN. Product functions the same.

  • Can it function as air duster?

  • Battery aside, does anyone know how this compares to the 70mai Midrive TP03(aware there is no battery for this one)?

  • Can these, or what would you rec'd, for a blow up SUP board?

  • Will the device interface be in EN or CN for this selection; Color: Air pump 1s CN?

    • +2

      English. The interface is numbers.

      • Thanks, ordered one

  • Random question: can a pump like this be set to "slow" release of pressure?

Reason being, I have a shower setup on a camper-van (via a PVC pipe) and want water pressure.

I tested the theory with a hand pump and it definitely works while being pumped….

    • +1

No, the Xiaomi air pumps won't do this. When you press the button, it pumps up to the pre-set psi, and then stops automatically. You then have to press the button to start any pumping again (assuming the pressure has dropped below the set psi).

You need one of those pumps which monitors the pressure and automatically starts pumping when the pressure drops — these types of pumps are quite rare. I don't know of any, but maybe someone else can chime in, they're definitely out there.

  • Cheers op, got one

  • Great product. Got one on last ozb deal.

  • Great deal, wonder if it worth it to buy with the 6 needle tools pack?
I plan to use this to pump for my car, my kids bike and balls, i.e. would the standard kit be enough to pump all these items without the "6 needle tools pack"? Thanks in advance.

    • +1

It's extra 9 dollars not sure if you can just buy that locally if you need them

    • +1

I have no idea what exactly the 6 needle tools pack is for, but the Xiaomi 1S itself comes with the pack described in the "Multiple accessories to meet your every need" image in the product description: a needle valve adapter, and Presta valve adapter.

That should let you pump bike tyres and balls etc. The default valve on the pump is for car tyres. So you shouldn't have to buy any extra adapters unless you have some more obscure stuff you need to pump up.

  • $56.18 with coupon still ok I guess
