20% off The Good Guys Gift Cards at Australia Post

4400

20% off on The Good Guys gift cards when purchased at Australia Post from 30 April to 13 May.

PS: Although the deal technically starts on the 30th, some Australia Post outlets seem to be honouring the deal now.

PPS: Looks like the link has been photoshopped out of the Australia Post official catalogue. And the link has been removed from Lasoo. I've updated the link to the catalogue. It is on the bottom of page 5 of the catalogue.

This is by the far the best deal ozbargains has ever dished out.. I netted a total saving of $1150 on a 8kW Fujitsu Aircon… gift cards + 20% off snap sale over the weekend + cashback promo.. I'm quite content

  • Wallsend 2287 PO has about 10 $50 cards left.
& WarnersBay PO has about 15 $50 cards left as of now.

  • Do the LPOs have gift cards? Or is it just the Post Shops?

    • Some LPO's had limited stock

  • Correction:
Now told Card Activation does take overnight.
Even if it shows nows on
    http://www.giftvouchers.com/BalanceEnquiry.aspx

    • OK thanks for update…and err whom told you to wait overnight btw ?

      • +1

he plans to raid your home while you sleep

      • I rang back the gift card site, and spoke to someone else, who told me overnight.
I have rung GGs a few time too, and get told something different each time eg ready immediately, 24hrs, 48hrs.
But when they check on their system, it hasn't appeared yet.

      • the post office told me to be safe just wait for 25hrs to redeem.

        • I kept ringing the 1300 number, around 3 hours later, I heard the confirmation. The I went to pick up my IPad. I got my deposited $100 cash back, and paid with with gift card. I typed this using my new IPad. Good luck!

  • anywhere else to check the balance? that giftvoucher site asks for CARD NUMBER and PIN! that's pretty much giving away your card's security. It's an unsecure site so anyone could steal the details and use it.

    • need the CARD unless you wanted to find a cloning machine on ebay ;)

      • +1

i thought you could redeem at their online store, no?

        • sorry went to edit but was locked out…ok police just meet at delivery address :)

      News flash

Today hords of Ozbargainers have blistered fingers from scrating TGG gift cards, after they methodically and systematically ozbargained potal outlets nationawide.

  • Managed to pick up mine at the Fortitude Valley Business Centre Post Office. None left unfortunately and no more coming in. Great deal. What's the catch???

  • just bought $500 worth and they had thousands left!!

    • and apparently there are no ipad 3's left in Victoria :(

    • where from?

    • where at

  • Went to pick up my reserved $50 card and the lady serving me said that the reason there was none left was that she'd nabbed 10 x $50!

Apparently they were trying to source more cards from Northern Tas AusPost outlets.

  • Padstow sold out =(

$3300 for a plasma TV after 20% discount? Is that a bargain?

      • not all plasmas are equal.

      • $3,300 before discount - and its a 3D Smart TV.. Also, its RRP at the moment is around $3800. And like Cooni said, not all Plasmas are equal.. ;)

        • +1

          it's become a collectors item

        • Someone who can't get to the store and does not know about the special.

    • pretty stupid, he properly break even after all the fees, unless he brought 1 too many and decided to sell of the ones he doesnt need?

    • One of the seller is an Ozbargainer, if you search their username here.

    • Oh I just had a look at their ebay history and guess what he/she was selling back when the logitech promotion was on.

There is no mention of the 20% discount in the catalog and the staff at AusPost don't know anything about it. Is it on in NSW?

    • Aus wide

    • there's heaps of NSW people who have done it ~ scroll back through the recent comments

    • Probably just not put the little tag on, but it's NSW too.

    • It's in the print catalogue and all 4 POs I went to this morning had signage with the deal

    • Did u check the catalogue properly? It's right at the bottom of one of the pages. Otherwise, could be because your PO is a non corporate one? Whatever that means but someone above said two of the PO he tried were not running the offer as they were non corporate (franchised perhaps?)

      • +1

this is actually not true. the place where i bought from was also a licencee- he simply called up the phone number he had re gift cards and they told him the procedure over the phone.

it is in THEIR interest to sell you everything they have as they make commission on these items.

my local PO loved that i cleaned him out of them. I also advised him to try and get as many as he could get in ASAP as they will move quickly.

    • My local store said they have plenty of stocks but not selling it with 20% off, they didnt get any instructions for that in Victoria.

Called AUSPOST and the staff said it's NSW deals only… Any Ideas??

  • Nothing at Innaloo (WA) also.
    None from three … bugger.

  • question guys, is this mean you can just hand in 20 gift cards if you want to buy an item worth $2000?

      • +2

        back to school we go

      • +1

U're saying you can pay a $2000 item with a $1600 worth of gift cards? What formula did u use??

      • LOL I clearly had my thinking backward there.. sorry!

        • lol you sure did!

    • What I meant was, is it fine if you come there and just say "hey I want to purchase $2000 TV" here are my gift card 20x"

    In Adelaide no stock at:
Unley, Mitcham, Edwardstown, Halifax Street, Hutt Street, GPO, Kent Town, North Adelaide or Norwood… hopefully they will be available online as has been previously suggested!

    • Got $1300 from kent town, Sorry guys. Needed it for the mac book air. Which Gepps cross had 10% off yesterday — ( near cost ) then going to go pay for it to day with the vouchers ====> WIN :)

      • does TGG sell any iMac or MacBook?

        • Yeah they got the lot at Gepps Cross in Adelaide.

      • Funnily enough I was looking for the exact same amount for the exact same computer!

        • Good luck on the hunt, my wife was on the phone with AUSPOST 9am this morning to get them to hold it.

        • Will they hold??

        • Yeah if u call AUS POST and get them to do the foot work,
on an update, I walked into mitcham and asked at the counter aroung 9:45am and the girl said "sold out and we don't know when we will get more in"

    • Sorri NoHomersClub,
I was at edwardstown post office on Sat, and asked the staff hold 5 tgg card and 1 goodrestaurant card and picked up around lunch time today…
There were at least 6 left on the rack that morning…

    • Most of western suburbs didn't have any either…I got the last five $50 from Torrensville, went to Hindmarsh, Arndale, Findon, and Flinders Park, none had any. Also called Welland, Regency Park, and Royal Park.

Apparently the card stands aren't managed by store staff, a number of staff at different stores told me they thought they had some last week but they'd since been moved around or perhaps other states going by the quantities other people are reporting…

Spoke to a marketing lady at GG HO and was told there was a finite number of cards available for this promotion. So unless they hold a stockpile of cards in storage, not everyone will get what they are after.

    • +1

GG said they've nothing to do with Austpost promo.

      • +1

Not what Judy in Melbourne said.

        • What was her verdict?
