    I had a chat with LiveChat who advised me it should be fine to order first and then message back to get credit or refund.
    I ordered and waited 80 minutes.
    Order was cancelled.

    Funny thing is I warned everyone how bad this company is and most people still tried to get the ‘deal’ anyway. I even got negged for saying it. Bait and switch can be added to a long list of scammy tactics they use. So now they got a a bunch of new paid subscribers to their dash pass service and After Pay got a bunch of new sign ups and most people here got absolutely nothing. Probably worth a report to the ACCC for this one.

    What a dog shit company.

    This "offer" feels super scammy. They budget enough marketing $ for the promo to run for half a day and advertise that it runs all weekend.
    The fact that they are crediting the few people who complain makes it seem like even they know they are in the wrong.

  • I've used their online chat saying its not working and they've stated " I see that promo code offer 50% discount up to $15.00 Let me go ahead and process the $15.00"

    I haven't even made an order yet…

    I spoke to chat. They were really helpful and ironically the support staff seemed to value reoccurring customers. They gave me $30 account credit and re-applied the after pay coupon valid for another 5 orders, also said they'll fix it. Seems this deal is unexpired. 5 x 50% off orders in a day sounds like a challenge. :)

    It still works, but you have to do it through the Afterpay website/app. You can see the Doordash promo there, click on it and it leads you to Doordash. There you go to the store and select an order of more than $50, proceed and on the next page you see the coupons available, including 50% off. Pick it and it applies up to $30.

  • Wow, they’re now blocking users from their live chat if they select ‘Credits/Promotions didn’t apply’ as the reason for their issue. Shows some very hard to read text in red ‘Chat with an agent is DISABLED’

      They do that often. I had two bad deliveries in a row. I complained the first time and got a partial refund, went to complain for the second one and they disabled the live support and blocked all possible compensation methods.

      Pathetic.

    I used the code on Thursday and it no longer appears in my Doordash banners, but after adding $50 worth of crap into my order, the voucher now appears on the checkout page and can be applied successfully.

    First time trying this, tt won't let me pay without Afterpay. I think they must have taken the code down yday to fix the bug.

    • Can you still order from a different place with the same code? Cancellation usually comes from the restaurant not DD but I might be wrong

  • Damn delivery fee keeps coming up and 10% service fees

    • Use after pay, 50% off, gives you dash pass for 3 months for free and free delivery but service fee sticks.

      • Having DashPass get free delivery and cheaper service fee. So save a bit there with the service fee. Better than nothing I suppose.

  • I order around 5:11pm today, n it was bad food so I want to order more food, it worked also my second one(drinks), until 7:25pm it doesn’t work anymore when I want to my backup dinner!

    This is false advertisement and completely illegal. Even Afterpay should be ashamed for endorsing something they cannot provide. 50% off

      Yeah they say place the order first. But for that order I have to pay the full amount, and the credit would be on the next order, so I will have to order again to use the old credit. What a shitty company. Even the chat is not aware of their own code

    They told me place the order and we will refund u the half for the first five orders. I asked to email me . She refused and gave me a reference number. I swear this is doggiest company . Hope they will bankrupt

  • Just had to go through damn live chat. They asked for a screenshot of the offer which i of course did not have, i had to send the damn ozbargain deal link and get them to refer to my first order the day this started before they acknowledge the offer.

  • It worked for me, i had to pay using afterpay for it to apply the code.

    Make sure the order is $50 minimum not including delivery/service fees.
    Max discount is $30
    The discount will not take the service fee into account, that will be added after the discount.

    • Is there a way to use Afterpay if there's credit in my account? That might be why it didn't work for me.

      • You add the credit to $50, so the minimum order amount must be the credit amount + $50

        • Unfortunately, I have over $50 credit.

          • @ozbmm: I think you can choose not to use the credit as well. However I don't think doordash makes it possible to use a portion of the credit, you must use it all or none of it.

        I had over $50 in credits, i used paypal as my payment method and entered AFTERPAYDAY in the promo section and it worked. I never made an Afterpay account. You don't have to order more than your total credit, as long as the subtotal order is over $50 to meet the promo requirement

    In case no one else has figured it out, you can also use this for Coles orders. There's no weekly specials but it gives you 50% off everything that normally doesn't go on sale eg meat. Freezer is now well and truly stocked up…

      • Basically restaurant made changes after order was placed, but didn’t inform me of what they were changing or what the prices were! I told them I didn’t ever agree to those charges, and the restaurants can’t just do this at their will. They agreed but also didn’t want to refund, told me to contact restaurant.

        Honestly crazy, just got a bunch of charges on my CC…

        They informed me they had a policy change with refunds and credits - supervisor authorisation only now.

          Ruined my referral credit tho.

          • @ShouldIBuyIt: I couldn’t cancel, tried that, it just seems a bit crazy. IMO you enter a contract to trade your $ for goods/services rendered at ‘X’ when you place an order.

            For them to modify without your consent, to provide something else at ‘Y’, and then ‘Z’, and then no recourse for compensation is illegal…

            All I wanted was some lunch :(

          I noticed when adding an dish to cart, there's an optional "Add Special Instructions" section. I tend use this section tell the restaurant no chilli. I have noticed there's a part that says "If sold out" and by default it's "Go with merchant recommendation". I wonder if this is how your restaurant was able to make change to your order after it was placed and charged extra for the changes..

          Real dodgy that the restaurant did not call you to ask you about swapping the item you ordered for something else. I think next time you notice this happening you should contact the restaurant immediately to ask what are they doing to your order. Not sure what else you can do at this point. Maybe complain to the restaurant and/or leave them a bad review on Google Maps?

            @Alinnia: Yeah I've been burnt by this in the past, by restaurants just completely swapping my meal for something completely unwanted and then charging me more. I always make sure I fill in that section to not replace or call me if out of stock before every order. The default is definitely dodgy and should ideally be "Contact me" by default

          • @Alinnia: Thanks Alinnia and rldowling - I’ll keep a close eye on this setting for future orders, it may have caused it in this case, though everything I received is what I ordered - so I wonder what they modified to justify all the additional charges and triple card charge..

  • Delivery order got cancelled. No delivery fee with Dashpass and restaurant is 10min away. Going to try again with pickup order.

    • The site is buggy. Just open the store page anyway and it should allow. Same thing for me but i put a pre order in for wednesday.

  • I went through the afterpay webpage and Clicked the deal, the app said deeplink failed. Added $50 off food and went to promo and it didn't show any coupons. Typed the code in anyways and it worked.

    Last time it didn't work I contacted support and they gave me $40 of credit, so try talking nicely to the support staff if the above did not work for you.

  • I noticed a few very misleading/confusing things when pre-ordering through Doordash. Today I pre-ordered for Tues night.

    1. Received a SMS that says "X has confirmed your order from DoorDash. Be ready to pick up your order between 7:25pm-7:30pm. Check your order tracking page for pickup instructions." SMS does not say Tuesday anywhere, so the message can be interpreted as meaning the order will be ready by tonight. I immediately called the restaurant to say the order is for Tues and not for tonight, and they confirmed that yes it's for Tuesday.
    2. I checked DoorDash's order tracking page, it said the restaurant is preparing my order. Which is shouldn't be as the order is for Tues!
    3. I then get another SMS 20 mins later today that says "Based on the original estimate provided by X, it's likely your order is ready now."
    4. When I check the order tracking page again, it says Time for Pickup. Has been showing that for a few hours now and I'm guessing it will continue showing this status until Tues night…

    It's like DoorDash's programmed order statuses and communications are written for orders to be delivered/picked up on the same day only. Not for pre-orders for later days. Hope they will improve their program to allow better and more accurate communications in regards to pre-orders.

      It should not be like that. I did a pre-order on Friday for that night and it basically counted down some large number of minutes as "Preparing" i think. However I have another pre-order in right now for Wednesday night and its status is "Scheduled".

  • How easy is to chargeback doordash fees through Revolut?

    Reason is i had $57 credit in my doordash account. And i am not able to place any orders even though I tried many different payment methods..it keeps saying please enter another payment method even though the amount due is $0 because of my doordash credits.

    They are hopeless and couldn’t solve it and no they deactivated my account.

    I want to chargeback the fees they charged me
    Previously even though some items were missing from my order. I even reported this to doordash and they didn’t compensate me

    • Same happened to my roommate, they told him the credits are good for 3 months, but that isn't worth jack as he couldn't access his account and now they've deactivated it. It's probably how they fund these deals, since it's easy to spend other people's cash.

    Keeping get 'Something went wrong' when I try to apply the code after picking AfterPay as the preferred payment. I went through to their Live Chat and was told that the order minimum is $30, tried that and it still didn't work.
