Seeing as the title is "Online Only", you might be on to something…

      • +19

The online only part was only added afterwards..

FYI, you can use the code and still pay using JB Hifi Gift Card. Doesn't need to settle via Afterpay.

    • Gold!

I find credit card easier to carry, but to each their own!

        • my company rewards good behaviour with points that can be exchanged for jb hi fi gift cards.. so its kinda free.. only if you behave

Can legit get more discount by walking in store and asking for the best price. Shit deal JB

    • +3

This is a deal for people that don't ask for deals.

    • +10

You guys, amateur hour over here! Call up the JB sales line when they're open, ask for their best price and they'll text you a link to a cart with the discount included. The rest is up to you.

      • Good tip, as they ignored my email

      • Do you think this would work on phones? As in buying a phone. Most places are pretty fixed I've found

        • +1

          I got an extra $30 off my S22 pre-order. Worth a shot!

        • If the phone you are after is on the website. Just add to cart and add the coupon code.

          • +1

@xoom: That was not the question.

            • @Techie4066: I think they’re suggesting you can see if the discount applies to phones by testing it out in the cart.

              • +1

@Any thing: Yes (but they misunderstood the question), they were replying to a comment that was replying to my comment regarding getting a negotiated discount from a salesperson to stack with this deal.

Call up the JB sales line

        phone anxiety :(

        my social anxiety could never.

        same :(

      • +2

It might make you feel more comfortable to know that there's no negotiating involved. You literally just ask for the best price and they look it up, print off an invoice, and you take it to the counter to pay like normal.

  • awesome find. thank you for sharing

No thanks I'll pay full price store attendant!

  • Anyone got some recommended uses?

  • If only I knew about this code 12 hours back! I bought this laptop using gift cards but could have saved more with this code.

    • +1

Call them or fill out their contact us form and mention that you forgot to add the code and if they can either cancel your order so that you can place it again or if they could refund you the difference amount?

From my experience, they'd be happy to help you with a refund of the difference amount.

    • Same. Just bought the same laptop. Mine still unopened. Seeing if i could return it and repurchase or could get refunded the difference. Though i did buy instore and picked it up.

      • I think it should be fine. I called their sales number and was told that they would refund the difference back to the payment method (which was gift card for me). I haven't received the refund yet but it could be a few days. If you do call them, I'd suggest getting a reference number just in case. I don't have a reference number so I have to hope that the refund actually goes ahead!

Just called the store and was told they do 14 day price difference refund.

She said to just bring the item and receipt and they will refund the price difference.

          • @xoom: Awesome!

            • @alwaysupforabargain: Just got back from jbhifi. This is what happened.

Went to checkout counter with laptop purchased and receipt.

Checkout staff will check price. See price of said laptop is same as receipt.

You then show them jbhifi website cart with laptop in my case. And the afterpay discount code applied.

Checkout staff checks with the manager and they approve it.

Heres where it may differ for you. I paid cash so my refund was instant. There and then. I get refund of price difference.

For those who paid by gift card. It could take 1 to 2 weeks to get refunded in gift card value of the price difference.

My guess is same for those who paid by card. Not sure as i never tried that before.

              • @xoom: Thanks for the update! In my case, I called the sales line and explained the situation and they calculated the price difference and said that the difference would be credited back to my payment method which was gift card. I was told it could take 1-3 days. I made the call around 10 hours back and received the gift card in my email around 2 hours back.

                • @alwaysupforabargain: Yes was weird at first. Checkout staff staff said she was willing to do it but i guess procedure was to get manager to approve first. As website clearly showed $1299.

not allowed on Iphone 13 for 5% discount :(

    • Yes I just checked. It gives me an error "Coupon does not apply to this basket", after I enter the code "AFTERPAY5" in coupon code.

      • Any cheaper deal available around? already got $100 coupon ;)

    • Damn, my son was after the 13 Pro

Can this be stacked with the ultimate teens gift cards ?

    • +1

Yes, if you buy a JB giftcard using your Ultimate giftcards in store, then use the JB card online.

      • Thanks for the info

      • I assume you can't use gift cards to purchase JB gift cards instore that is against their policy.

        • Infinite loop of savings.

        • In this case Ultimate or TCN cards are considered EFTPOS cards (cash).

          • @Techie4066: Unless a refund is given and you would get a JB giftcard instead.
