I'm fairly sure new GPUs are out later this year. So might be best to keep waiting.
Intel Ark/alchemist mobile 30th may, desktop expected around June-ish. Nvidia 4000 around October-ish, and the latest I've seen for amd 7000 is "late 2022".
So yeah, lots of new GPUs coming out - most importantly, all on new nodes! Which means new/more production capacity.
Awesome. I have little faith in intel since it's their first attempt at discrete graphics and their graphics drivers aren't great though it is good to have more competition.
@Caped Baldy: Ooph yeah. I had an iGPU Xe laptop pretty much straight after it was released. The drivers were horrific! Even down to visual artifacts on the desktop lol. It has come a long way however. I don't notice any errors, but I'm sure performance is still a bit iffy. I'm just hoping Intel can drop prices by volume of GPUs haha.

Buy them through Shopback, 3% cashback and they issue the cards within a few minutes. What I do is buy as much gift cards as I can, up to the total order value, and just put the last little bit on Afterpay.

I think if Taiwan gets invaded, we would have a world war. I expect China knows that which is the reason they're holding off, and unlikely to go for it.
I don't think any country could handle the loss of TSMC. They're just too critical to the world as a whole. Probably them and ASML would be the two main companies the world couldn't afford to lose.

Hahaha very true. China however is very shrewd, and has generally been out-thinking everyone for the last decade. I don't expect them to do anything too crazy until they're certain they'll win.

Ampere does use some TSMC. Either way TSMC is definitely an if not the leader in nodes currently.

This is the newer Plus model with a metal backplate instead of the plastic/graphite mix found on the original.

@[Deactivated]: lost track to be honest, bought a 3080 for 1450 then sold it for 2100, bought a 3080 (pre-order) for 1280 then sold it for 2400, bought a 3080 ti for 2550 and here I am.
@[Deactivated]: I can see how it looks that way, it sure was not my intention to be one, each time I wanted to change my gfx card so to do that I had to sell my old one and I don't think anyone in their right mind would sell something for less than it was worth, anyway look at it this way, I paid 2550 for a card that's worth nearly 1k less
@micsway: Don't sell your 3080 Ti, use it till its dead, maybe in the next 7-8 years. That's the best value option, if you sell then you lose all the gains from 3080 resell.
I was in your similar situation, wanting to get the best value for money in GPU. I would only flip cards if it makes profit, wouldn't take loss, otherwise I'll keep it and use it.

I sold the FHR version of this card for $2500 to a miner 5 months ago (paid $1399 year of release) and got an ASUS TUF 3080ti for $100 more. Nice to see this card cheap again for gamers
