Original Coupon Deal
Another RTX 3080 deal from Scorptec Afterpay eBay. This seems to be the cheapest.
These prices are freaking me out, I don't know what to do…
I'm hodl and I have gtx 970
I'm still using gtx 670: https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/312245/94788/img_2407....
didn’t realise they made a wireless version
I have the exact same strix model. I haven't been gaming for a while. Can't justify
You and me both. But it's so cheap….
I'm fairly sure new GPUs are out later this year. So might be best to keep waiting.
Intel Ark/alchemist mobile 30th may, desktop expected around June-ish. Nvidia 4000 around October-ish, and the latest I've seen for amd 7000 is "late 2022".
So yeah, lots of new GPUs coming out - most importantly, all on new nodes! Which means new/more production capacity.
Awesome. I have little faith in intel since it's their first attempt at discrete graphics and their graphics drivers aren't great though it is good to have more competition.
@Caped Baldy: Ooph yeah. I had an iGPU Xe laptop pretty much straight after it was released. The drivers were horrific! Even down to visual artifacts on the desktop lol. It has come a long way however. I don't notice any errors, but I'm sure performance is still a bit iffy. I'm just hoping Intel can drop prices by volume of GPUs haha.
What about crypto
In what way?
@Caped Baldy: what do you mean?
yes but potentially 0 stock and shenzhen factories closing due to covid outbreak currently…
Not a HODLErs in sight, they all must have turned to the dark side….
Yeah, really panic now haha, might even see 3080 goes under $1k by Easter!!!
Finally MSRP but I have switched to XBOX
XGP is the king
No PC master race is still the king.
thanks OP, got 1
Drop it like it's hot
like I said before, just a little longer and we will see.
HODLing for the 40xx. Current PC is 7+ years old, I can hold on for a few more months.
not to mention PSU will need upgrade too. might as well hold out.
I personally don't do the upgrade thing. I build a brand new rig every few years. In the last 18+ years, I've owned 3 PCs.
What did you build? I7 4770/90 and a gtx 780?
@Casomme: i7-2600k, Radeon 7870.
@Juiciness: Oh man. Whatever you get is going to be an amazing upgrade
Afterpay $1k cap! Sad face. Why can't they just take my payment in full and give me the discount
Use the rest on ebay gc. some say it works, it works for me.
i always wonder this, is it only 15% off for the bit you pay on afterpay? or the whole thing?
cause then isnt it best to buy the whole thing using 3% giftcards? and $1 using afterpay?
that's it, on mine $1 afterpay still gives the full 15% off discount, maybe a bug to be closed soon.
@non-LHR: Jeez so u could get this for like ~1120
@abjsdhasehasee: and there're private sellers on ozb selling $1000 ebay gc for just $900-950, I bought one a while back.
I bought $2 usb cable on it so the gc is permanently tied to my ebay acc for safety.
@abjsdhasehasee: I bought the 48" oled monitor like this today. $1200 gift cards and $30 on afterpay gave full discount.
Just go and buy ebay gift card to fix this.
By the time you bought the gift cards, won't this card be sold out?
Buy them through Shopback, 3% cashback and they issue the cards within a few minutes. What I do is buy as much gift cards as I can, up to the total order value, and just put the last little bit on Afterpay.
Nope, takes few mins to come through and it works btw!
gotta be quick like speedy gonzales, yesterday 5 evga cards gone in 7 minutes.
You may want to buy now because if things continue to go anymore side ways, Taiwan may just get invaded this year or next, Hopefully! not though… we'll see now this ages.
I think if Taiwan gets invaded, we would have a world war. I expect China knows that which is the reason they're holding off, and unlikely to go for it.
I don't think any country could handle the loss of TSMC. They're just too critical to the world as a whole. Probably them and ASML would be the two main companies the world couldn't afford to lose.
I think you missed the most import thing in decision making… human stupidity.
Hahaha very true. China however is very shrewd, and has generally been out-thinking everyone for the last decade. I don't expect them to do anything too crazy until they're certain they'll win.
@incipient: i think a lot of us had similar impressions of rus/putin, until recently.
You know 30 series cards doesn’t have anything from TSMC right?
Ampere does use some TSMC. Either way TSMC is definitely an if not the leader in nodes currently.
@incipient: ampere uses samsung last time i checked,,,, power ineffcient 8nm node no?
@gotnomoney: Apparently they do use TSMC for professional chips:
The thing is, I was reading about a shortage on ddr4 ram and sad this year
So they'll screw you another way
Good price, but this card's thermals aren't great.
This is the newer Plus model with a metal backplate instead of the plastic/graphite mix found on the original.
these prices are making me want to sell my 3080Ti and buy this instead
I wonder how much your 3080 Ti would sell for? will you recoup some cash after purchasing this?
hard to say, 1500-1600 at best maybe?
I guess the difference in performance between a 3080 and a Ti means I'd be happier with $400 in my pocket is what I'm saying
but how much loss you took? how much did you buy your Ti?
@non-LHR: lost track to be honest, bought a 3080 for 1450 then sold it for 2100, bought a 3080 (pre-order) for 1280 then sold it for 2400, bought a 3080 ti for 2550 and here I am.
@micsway: you're a scalper then, ur lucky no one noticed.
@non-LHR: I can see how it looks that way, it sure was not my intention to be one, each time I wanted to change my gfx card so to do that I had to sell my old one and I don't think anyone in their right mind would sell something for less than it was worth, anyway look at it this way, I paid 2550 for a card that's worth nearly 1k less
@micsway: Don't sell your 3080 Ti, use it till its dead, maybe in the next 7-8 years. That's the best value option, if you sell then you lose all the gains from 3080 resell.
I was in your similar situation, wanting to get the best value for money in GPU. I would only flip cards if it makes profit, wouldn't take loss, otherwise I'll keep it and use it.
wait till the miners are all dumping their stock as they cannot mine?
That would be an apocalyptic collapse of GPU price.
better get the government to step in and provide a FGBG (First GPU Buyers Grant) and allow negative gearing on our cards to prop it up then
GPU will never lose its ability to mine. There is Conflux, Ergo, RVN ETC, and and many more waiting for eth 2.0 and rocket to moon, LOL
Majority of miners already dual mining or full switch on TON, ALPH, etc
There was mining before ETH, there will be mining after ETH.
It used to be more profitable to mine ZEC than ETH for example
I caved in, this is below RRP considering it's a premium model and who knows what stock will be like for the 4000 series, may not be able to buy one for a year after launch as well.
Conquer this deal, dear bargainers!
Great performance, basically benches exactly the same as the Asus TUF just runs a little hotter.
No frills, no rgb etc but looks nice imo.
20 sold in 46 minutes. nice.
3 more in stock.
Edit: and gone
2 more in stock
thanks to your comment, I grabbed one. Or else I wasn't even going to open the link.
Don't even really need a gpu but would've grabbed one if the listing didn't get dogpiled.
Game over prices as retailers all dump it
Would buy this if this was $100 cheaper.
I sold the FHR version of this card for $2500 to a miner 5 months ago (paid $1399 year of release) and got an ASUS TUF 3080ti for $100 more. Nice to see this card cheap again for gamers
