    • The code is working for me too.

Just be aware of Gigabyte B560M's first NVME slot will not work with 10th gen Intel. If you want to install two NVME SSDs on the motherboard, MSI Bazooka or Mortar is the option. Also they have better VRM to power i7 10700f.

    https://www.msi.com/blog/m2-slot-is-disabled-on-some-b560-mo…

I purchased the previous build with similar specs and can confirm B560M DS3H's VRM is power throttling 10700f in Intel XTU stress test.

    • +3

Yup I second that. Gigabyte has no support for 2 nvmes for 10th gen. I have. An i3 with this board and first nvme slot doesn't work with my CPU. You need 11th gen CPU to use both nvmes slots.

On a side note; with 10th gen CPUs it's tricky to get 2 nvme working even with 10th gen b460 board. I tried a we green nvme with data interface and when nvme work, all other regular SATA drive don't and vice versa. Both work fine individually.

      • +4

MSI Bazooka's extra $39 is worth the upgrade for an extra NVME slot and better VRM. Gigabyte's board should be paired with i5 11400f.

I flipped my original Gigabyte board on Facebook and bought the mortar non wifi version during the Afterpay eBay sales.

    • I have a Gigabyte Z390 mobo with a 500gb m2 drive. Are you saying I can't simply buy a second m2 drive and slide it in and it'll work?
Or should it be okay with an i9 9900k cpu?

      • I just mentioned the combination of 10th gen Intel CPU and Gigabyte B560 motherboard. It is because Gigabyte B560's first NVME is only for the PCI-E 4.0 directly from 11th gen Intel CPU. If you are using 10th Gen on it, the first NVME slot will not work.

Not sure about your Z390. You need to check the manual of your board.

        • Okay thank you

    • Is that due to 10th gen Intel only supporting PCIE 3.0 and the slot is PCIE 4.0? The 11th gens look to support PCIE 4.0 so might consider the CPU upgrade

      • Yep. It is a pain to lose the first nvme slot. Fortunately MSI got the solution there. 1th gen does not make significant difference in performance.

        • +1

Thanks for confirming, I was pretty keen on the 3070 ti deal with the R5 5600X which has PCIE 4 and two NVME slots, with an NVME drive, whereas this one has a SATA drive and no gen 4 without the cpu upgrade for $100 less. I only plan on 1080/1440p gaming so I don’t think the 3080 is necessary, but PCIE 4 might help with some load times.

  • Hi Luke. I'm interested in purchasing, but I currently have a 1TB M2 SSD and an additional HDD sitting with me that I'd like to install.

What changes or upgrades will I need to make on the order page?

    Thank you.

    • An option for you would be that you could order as is and add your storage when you get it and have an extra 480gb SSD.

      • I did this. I ordered the X570 Wifi motherboard upgrade to ensure I had two M.2 SSD slots. Then opened it up and put my SSD in the slot where the Techfast one was, then took the other one out and used a SSD enclosure with USB connector to connect it my PC and format it as a blank drive for 500GB of games.

    • You shouldn't need to make any changes to use those actually. This has a 2.5" SSD as standard, leaving an NVME slot free and the case will have a slot for your HDD, and you'll get the SATA cable from the motherboard box.

One option is to wait for the DELL deals as they represent better value. You can sell the SSDs if you like.

  • +3

Hi, is there any chance you can do an 850w psu that isn't the giga? Just would like the peace of mind that my pc isn't going to explode…

  • Are there any options for the same spec but in a smaller less colourful case?

    • +1

The colours are just the fans which are easily turned off. All 3 options are ATX cases.

  • +2

Any 12th gen i5/i7 builds in the works?

    • They haven't moved particularly well thus far tbh. Value is still very much in the previous generation. But prices seem to be stabilising which will mean we can offer the best price on 12th gen possible. It won't be the same as 10th/11th gen though because the new gen CPU/MB costs are just all round higher.

      • Thanks for the update.
I am looking for i5 or i7 12th gen (with a 3080, maybe?). I know you have one from Feb. Dare I ask for a best price you can do (perhaps during Easter holiday?).
Apologies if my request doesn't make sense, I am still learning about PC building. Thanks.

  • Hi Luke. Thank you for posting the offer and it looks quite good. May I ask if you have incoming ITX build (NR200P case in particular) in the next couple of months? I've already had 2 mid tower build and would like to have a samller build

    • No ITX on the horizon sorry mate. We've looked a few times and it doesn't work for us in how we operate at the moment.

Techfast either going for the Chinese customers or using the Chinese luck with the 888 :)

Maybe they are leading up to selling a 3080 for $888 …. Hmmmmm

  • The code already reflects its for April deal, hope more deals coming up during Easter holiday!

    • +4

With 12GB 3080 reaching 1250 from BPC and 5800x going for 430 from Shopping express, what you suggest is "probably" doable if Luke makes up his mind ;)

    • +1

Your 42nd comment in 10 years is a neg?

      • What do you mean by this?

        • The neg vote on the deal is in no way warranted for personal fantasies sake.

          • @cornbeef: Ok I understand now

          • @cornbeef: It was actually because of the overvalued inclusion of the 10th Gen Intel CPU.

            • @featherplucker: Yes, fairer as a comment.

              • -1

@cornbeef: There's a downvote for a reason. As people are free to use the upvote as they see fit, I would assume we are able to use the down vote in the same way. Don't include a site function if it isn't allowed to be used.

    why 10th gen?

it's a huge diff between 10 and 12 th gen

like i5 12 th gen is better than i7 10 th gen.

    use 12 gen pls

    • +7

they have a 12th gen deal linked in the post, if you want it. Cost you another $1000. If you dont want to spend another $1000 then look at this deal

Kinda like going to an add for a Corolla and saying 'why not a BMW, huge difference between a Corolla and an M3. Only sell M3s please'

      • +3

In your example I would probably replace Corolla with MG or Haval. Corolla is a well established reliable car.

      • Yeah but that's for an i9, they could do a deal cheaper than a $1000 more for a 12th gen i7 hopefully…I would be tempted then but at this stage I'd rather wait 6 months for a 4xxx series next-gen prebuilt and pay more

  • if you Want 8 sata Ports or So what even would be the option these Days ?

  • will this one be compatible for Win11? based on the specs this one probably will last 2-3 years after Win11 becomes relavent

  • Hi, Does anyone know which MSI and gigabyte gpu those would be and how the gainward one compares to them?

  • Option to downgrade graphics card? I'm looking for an i7 or i9 with low to mid-range GPU for 1080p gaming

  • Do this handle photoshop and light gaming ( gta, call of duty … )

Im using i7 10th laptop such a bad for photoshop
I normally keep the systems for 3 years

    Thanks ozbargainers

  • Ordered Wed shipped today!

  • does the msi mag forge 100r have good air flow? im going to pull the trigger on this with the 240 liquid cooled and the 5800x upgrade. Just heard if your case doesnt have front airflow it can cause heat issues with this cpu… can anyone confirm the mag upgrade is worth it? cheers

    • MAG Forge 100R is full mesh front. The radiator will be top mounted leaving the front two preinstalled case fans for additional airflow.
