the fastest GPU in existence… until RDNA3/Lovelace drop Q3.

  • +20

In what universe are these actually bargains? You can buy and OC a 3090 to obtain similar performance, or just buy a 6900XT/3080 which gets close enough for $1500ish when an actual bargain happens.

    • +6

A very specific case where you need lots of vram and access to cuda etc tech.

      • +1

Deep learning is an obvious and common example, 24GB is very useful, and 3090 is the cheapest way to get it.

3090ti is slightly faster and slightly more expensive, so it's quite a reasonable choice. 3090/3090ti are really a bargain when compared with other cards from NVidia with at least 24GB of VRAM.

    • +2

Have to agree, seems like they had this all ready before the crash and are now throwing a hail Mary. Recently all of the 3080 12gbs going for 1150 delivered are only 25% slower for a third of the price.

      • Recently all of the 3080 12gbs going for 1150 delivered

Where did you see all these 12GB models for $1,150?

      • +1

It's just run off from the professional binnings for GA102, and NVIDIA developing board designs for RTX 40. You're paying for an all-but perfect die, which is rare on the wafer.

    • Agree with most of what you said, but $1500 is still not cheap enough for 6900XT/3080 to consider it a bargain in my books

  • +8

It might be the fastest but it's only about 15% faster than a 3080 Ti for about 50% more $.

    • Not when running compute, we need around 18-20GB of RAM on the card.

  • "the fastest GPU in existence" I'll race you with my Dual A100's

    • until later this year.

I'm not sure which consumers this is for. Most big spenders would have jumped on to the 3090 a year ago and the 3090 can be had for $500 less.

    Thanks bought 3

  • Rather wait on RDNA 3.

450+w to run the GPU. No thanks.

  • +4

haha $3k+, tell them they're dreaming.

    Inb4 β€œstill better value than a 6500xt.”

  • +1

    Thanks bought 3

  • Finally the day has come where we need to hang GPU's from the ceiling of the case to stop GPU sag

  • With the crash in GPU prices recently no one will be buying this, at least not at this price. Decent model 3090's are struggling to sell for anything higher than ~2.5k…

  • +1

New gen just around the corner, this aint worth it at all. should be $2200-2500

  • +2

bargin price put me down for 10.

  • Surely this should be flagged as a joke post. There is nothing bargain about 3090Ti

    • +1

April Fools 2 days away ;) They missed the opportunity…. lol

  • the fastest GPU in existence.

    FTW3 Black

  • I hope 4080 not gonna destroy this card

  • +4

    That's a release note, not a bargain.

  • 3090 Ti… is it worth paying $1000 and using 150w more power for 2% performance :)

    • Do you compare it with the normal 3090? Is it available for $2289?

  • +4

Thanks, bought two to put into SLI for maximum flex

    • +3

Nice looks like your case is going to cave in! Might need to concrete form a custom one.

  • +1

    No.

  • Thank goodness this is getting negged.

So many unfortunate OzBargainers who've been needing a new GPU for months (or even years) have been giving up and paying double or triple sane prices. I was beginning to think there wasn't a price high enough to shock them back into thinking rationally about this.

But I guess $3300 did the trick.

    • +1

Well the drop in prices over the past few weeks definitely helped. I wonder how ozbargain would have reacted if we were still at the height of the scalpocolypse

  • Only good if you like burning money.

  • OZ RRP strikes again

  • Only gets 130Mh/s
Not worth it for Mining or Gaming.

  • This is not even close to being a deal, previously some of these posts were accepted because of the graphics/chip shortages and the inflation of prices. We are no longer in these times and just because something is new, doesn't mean it is a 'deal'…

  • πŸ‘Ž

  • +2

    "nuFf SaiD" lmao wtf

Fastest card is saying literally nothing, this is a place for DEALS, are you gonna post EVERY flagship smartphone launch ever just cos they are the fastest?

    • +2

The read between the lines is: "if you're buying the best of the best of the best, you're not after a discount/bargain"…

      • -6

it is pretty cheap though. i remembered buying a 3090 ftw3 for like the similar price in December and sold it for a profit shortly later.

i mean its making what? $5 usd a day? For a gaming card that gives a return it sure craps over a ps5

          • -1

            @timweenie: Obviously u don't own one.

My 3090 paid itself off from mining and it outperforms a ps5 by quite a bit.

            Can your ps5 do that?

  • +1

    3090 T(otal) I(diocy)?
Like, sure… this is for someone, I'm just not sure it's for OzBargain at RRP…

It was a bold move for Nvidia to release this now, with that price… not convinced boldness = deal worthy though.

  • Posting crap like this as a bargain is only going to make retailers think they don't need to post real ones

  • cannot wait for 40series comes out, gonna feel bad they will have better perfomance than my 3090..

  • +1

lol nvdia think we are fools

  • -2

    so many poors

  • +2

OMG, $3K+? 30% is the actual price, the other 70% is the IQ tax.

  • +2

Lol, neg it doesn't mean Can't afford it.

  • You could buy a pretty decent system for that much… with a 3080 in it.

  • +1

I'd rather spend my $3000 on RTX 4080 at launch then scalp it to gamers for $4500. As a non-miner this is how I plan to offset the price of my next gpu.

It's proven hardcore gamers don't care and are willing to raise msrp's at the expense of casual gamers. You'd be silly not to snag a 4000 on launch and make a profit off them. This is a good way for casual gamers to afford a gpu. I bought a GTX 1080 for $320 and sold it 2 months later for $700. Now instead of being out of pocket $700 for a 3060ti I'm only paying $350ish.

  • +1

Hands up everyone who paid more than this for a 3080Ti at release during the peak of the gpu shortage? Dammit :)

  • +1

This is that first lowball offer. Offensively lowball… just to see how desperate the other side is.

No way on earth is this a bargain. This is a community service announcement for the incredibly desperate, not the bargain hunter.

  • +1

AMD FX 53 was fastest cpu in existence once

  • +2

BE AWARE THIS THING NEEDS A >1200W PSU AND IT DRINKS POWER LIKE A DRUNKEN SAILOR ON SHORE LEAVE.

  • What a fantastic Bargain NVidia !!! lol

  • Paying this much is what will set higher base prices for next gen. stop this madness.
Yesterday you were saying paying 300 more for 3080 was waste and today you post a 3000$ card as a deal. Lol.
