they pricing matching Mitre 10s 50% off 18v rockwell items

    • +2

let's hope they match the entire range

      • Very much hope they do!

    • +1

Good pick up. I hope they match the entire range, there's heaps of other skins I want

    • +1

The compound mitre saw is not a bad buy given it has the 4ah battery to use with the system.

      https://www.mitre10.com.au/rockwell-18v-li-ion-sliding-compo…

      • Are bunnings price matching he ozito equivalent of this?

        • +1

ozito pxc compound mitre saw (no battery) skin is 149

      • +1

Anyone know if these Rockwell tools fit either the ozito or Aldi batteries? I have an older green drill and it's different but not sure about this blue range

        • It's different

      • 20V and not ozito

        • +1

20v and 18v are normally the same battery setup. 20v being the more questionable way of reporting the voltage.

My tools are sold here as 18v fatmax. Same thing is sold as Porter-Cable 20v in USA.

      • Do you know if there certa tools are compatible with any other batteries?

  • Should I stock up another system? My current main system is makita (only three tools though: drill, driver and circular saw) and the secondary is ryobi (jigsaw, multi tools, will buy a nail gun). Also need an orbital sander….and maybe a mitre saw and a grinder too.

    • +3

You can always try to find a 3d printed battery adaptor. They're not cheap if you can't 3d print yourself or you don't know someone that can do it. But it's possible

      • Dewalt to Ozito adapter is $55, no thanks

    • Try battery adaptors, maybe ebay. There's one that does Ryobi into Dewalt, so maybe there's one for Ozito

      • +2

Battery adapter's exist from ozito to Ryobi but not the other way because of the shape of the Ryobi battery… My recommendation for people starting a new system would be to go ozito batteries and an adapter to Ryobi, then use whatever, those of us that started with Ryobi are screwed or we suck up the cost to have both.

        • I have an ozito to Ryobi adaptor.

I'm mostly in ozito camp but the adaptor is handy for the Ryobi scarifier

  • +5

Look, they're not trade quality like Makita but if it's just the odd job around the house, they're OK. Can probably get an adapter to use the Makita batteries but that said, you can often get the twin 4ah and chargers under $100

  • +1

PriceHipster says regular price is $39.90.

    • I did have it in the title but it got edited out shrug

  • +1

this tool is ideal for intricate work or for use in remote areas.

Got one for my IP in Tibooburra.

    • Got any tenants yet?

      • Not yet. I'm expecting 1 in 2025 though.

        • +1

          Better install that air-con mate.
          Should get supply by then.

          • +1

@wetwork: I'm planning on using the sander to cut out an orifice for the box aircon.

            • @Muzeeb: May also need a saw of some type to cut through the wall hey?
*Depends on what the walls are made of in Tibooburra.

            • +2

@Muzeeb: Make sure you smooth the edges of the orifice with a recipro or you'll get splinters.

  • +4

Pity the random orbital sander isn't on sale.

  • +1

20 sheets costs more than the sander, a bit like printers
    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-detail-sander-assorted-gri…
    .

    • +2

Ebay is much cheaper for Sandpaper.

      • +1

        It's $12.73 for 10 sheets, I'm not a mathematician either but let's give it a go:

        10 + 10 = 20
        $12.73 x 2 = $25.46
        $25.46 > $21

    • +2

those sheets aren't for the ozito pxc sander, they're a different size

      • I believe these are normal droplets shape sheets.

    • Yeah sandpaper is a killer. I used to be able to buy hook and loop sand paper down at Mitre10 by the metre on a roll. I'd then cut it to fit whatever shape plate I was using. I can't find it anywhere anymore.

  • Will this work if I am using it sand the door a little bit which is getting stuck with door frame

    • +9

Can't you use your batarang to shave a bit off

      • +1

What happened to the Anti-door-getting-stuck bat spray?

There's a spray for any sticky situation …

        • There's an app for it now

    • +1

It will work, its just the same as using sandpaper except the machine does the 'back and forth' movements for you. It might take a long time if you need to take a fair bit off. Or you can get some sandpaper and do it by hand

orbital or belt sander will do it much faster, but less precision

      • +3

the machine does the 'back and forth' movements for you

Mothers day gift sorted for my mother-in-law :)

        • remember to bundle the 4.0 amp hour battery

          woman has heavy duty needs

        • Wouldn't a reciprocating saw have been better?

    • +2

Not ideal, I've ordered one but don't expect much from it. I'd use a plane or a belt sander.

    • This will work but it might take awhile. Doors are pretty tough to shave. Don’t even try by hand. I have the corded version of this but bought anyway for the cordless aspect just in case…which will never happen.

      • +1

Not too bad with a hand plane, and a lot less cleanup than sanding.

    • Usually you can fix this much more easily by bending the hinge slightly. There's a video somewhere i can find for you if you need.

    • +1

Just use 60 or 80 grit sandpaper and do it by hand using a block (short ~ 30cm offcut of flat timber or similar) it will be as quick and will leave a nice more consistent result. These palm sanders, especially if not used to using them are difficult to get a non wavey result with IMHO

  • +2

From the photos it looks like it only takes the 2.0 Ah battery

    • +5

I have one and can confirm that they only take the 2.0ah battery with the dust extractor attached. Luckily I had one from one of the mower and trimmer combos.

  • +1

In stock at Marion, SA as of 30 minutes ago.

    • Only 2 left.

  • anyone know if the ozito mower is ok? want a cordless mower and that will dictate what brand i stick with for other tools

    • +1

The cylinder is good. A bit light but works well for smaller yards

    • +1

Which one? There's two in the Ozito PXC range.

I have the smaller one and it's fine for my shoebox yards, but would definitely want the larger one for anything else.

      • +1

I have the smaller brushless one and a cylinder one too. Both are good for the yard that I have. The larger PXC 2 X 18V BRUSHLESS STEEL DECK LAWN MOWER KIT is good since you get two batteries. However, it is seasonal and I wouldn't bother with the smaller units if you need something more powerful.

    • +2

The Ozito PXC steel deck mowers are great. Had one for a while now.

    • Mine was terrible. Don't know if I got a dud, but I returned it. Would cut out all the time. Felt like it had no power.

    • +2

I got the Ozito PXC 2 x 18V Telescopic Lawn Mower Kit a few months ago and it's amazing. Easily mow ~325sqm with the one charge and it doesn't even feel like a chore. I tend to do it weekly now since it just glides over when it's not too high and the job is done in no time. No more smelling like petrol and fumes, and so quiet.

      • +2

Got this last week - am very happy with it.

      • +1

wicked thanks. think you guys have convinced me.

  • order now, think later

  • -1

Just the Sander, angle grinder & circular saw on sale this time?

  • These are great and I'd recommend them. I've got 2.

  • +2

Pay attention, it only accepts batteries less than 2ah. Otherwise it doesn't fit.

    • Yaeh, the manual states 1.5 Ah only if you want to use the dust cannister.

    • +1

confirmed - my 4.0A batteries are no good on this

    • Manual says it will fit larger batteries if the dust canister is removed.

      • Can definitely use 2Ah battery. That's what I use in mine. FYI I have both 1.5Ah and 2Ah batteries and they look to be the same physical size.

    • +2

The 2.5 ah battery fits just fine.

  • Can anyone confirm if it works with the 2.5Ah battery without removing the dust canister?

    • +1

Yes, it works with both 2.5Ah and 1.5Ah batteries without removing the dust canister.

    • Sorry mate. Just realised mine is a 2Ah battery. I thought it was a 2.5Ah Battery. So not sure if the 2.5Ah will fit.

      • All the promo photos I've seen have a 2Ah battery so I suspect 2.5Ah is too big. I bought a 2Ah battery for mine when I bought the sander and I was looking for the largest size that fitted. However, I wouldn't have considered 2.5Ah as that's only available packaged with at least a charger and I already had plenty of chargers.
Do you already have 2.5Ah battery?

    • Yes, I have 2.5Ah from the mower kit, and it fits.

      • thanks! got the 2.5 as well

  • +1

I already got a multi-tool, do I still need it?

    • +1

      I have the same question.
Google seems to say we don't need it….However I've bought one C&C anyway in case it sells out and will decide later.

    • Forgot I even had one of those lol. Thanks this saves me thinking. Can just the multi for any corner spots. Got their random orbital (which I barely used as it is) for the rest of the area.

  • Thoughts on using this on DIY car paint/panel repair & repairing gutter rims? lol

Edit - Nvm the grits are way too course. Unless someone before has tested to stick 1000-2000 grit on these things hahaha

  • Anyone know the Bunnings price codes? Is a whole number the stock price and $XX.98 on sale/price matched etc?

    • That's how I generally see it but I think some things have ended in 98c for a while

From the comments above, they're matching Mitre 10's 50% off Rockwell 18v line

      • Did they just announce indirectly that they have been selling over priced goods by matching prices of a totally different model.

  • Heaps left at Newstead Brisbane.

  • Im not sure what this is or what it does. However I just put through a click and collect order. Now I just need to figure out what accessories I need so I can have the whole set collecting dust in my shed.
