Game Pass essential follow on purchase 🙂

Use your discounted MS gift cards for some savings. Although it isn't showing in the chart on this page, Reward Gateway has 10% off on Xbox cards. Correction: it is showing, you just have to scroll past Microsoft and go to the Xbox row near the bottom.

    • +1

To add to this, ShopBack has 10% cashback on Xbox gift cards which can be used on Microsoft store

      • it only says 5.5%? and where is the link for the gift cards direct please

        • It’s an Xbox gift card specific under the gift card section on ShopBack

  • +14
    $749 Xbox Series X
-$75 ShopBack 10% cashback on $750 worth of Xbox gift cards
-$20 ShopBack $20 Microsoft Challenge ($200 minimum spend)
-$10.21 ShopBack 1.5% cashback on Consoles at Microsoft
    = $643.79
    • +5

      I don't think you'll get the extra 1.5% if paying with GC's?

      • +10

Thanks. Didn't notice that. So would be $654 then. Still good.

        $749 Xbox Series X
-$75 ShopBack 10% cashback on $750 worth of Xbox gift cards
-$20 ShopBack $20 Microsoft Challenge ($200 minimum spend)
        = $654
        • +3

654 is still a sick price

        • You should get the 1.5%. to get the $20 Microsoft challenge $200 spend you have to go through shopback so you will get your normal cashback as well. My gift card cashback is confirmed and sitting there my challenge is complete and my $10.21 is pending like the normal three month approval process

          • @Sammy Boi: They'll cancel the $10.21.

Check the "DON'Ts" section of Shopback…
"Gift card purchases & Purchases with the use of Giftcards are ineligible for cashback unless otherwise stated"

            • @whitelie: Yeah but if you think about it I didn't actually make the purchase with the gift cards I made the purchase with credit

        • +1

you’re also left with $1 of xbox gift cards ;)

    • I got $11.24 back from Shopback btw :) so $642.76

  • +2

Shopback has 10% off on xbox gift cards.

  • +2

Last time people tried to buy gift cards, the Xbox sold out by the time they tried to apply the cards.

    • +1

This is what I'm worried about. I can cash in MS rewards points for about $200 worth of xbox/MS dollars but worried it will sell out before I can complete the purchase and the credit has to be used within 60 days or something so more than likely won't come back in stock in time

    • +1

Last time I got the gift cards then bought an Xbox, no worries.

    • i added it to my cart first and then went and bought the cards and came back to complete the purchase

      • Adding it to the cart doesn’t reserve the order.

  • +1

Hate to say it but my OG xbox one has been doing surprisingly well for purposes of glorified xcloud machine.

If just using it for xcloud is there anything i'm missing by NOT going the series x?

    • Ditto - Until we get true next gen exclusives I don't see a need for upgrading my Xbox One X. Pairing the gift card strategy listed in comments with the trade in from EB had me considering it tho..!

      • +8

Quick resume, next gen updates (like the cyberpunk 2077 one), faster loading are just a couple that spring to mind.
I sold my one X to get this and don't regret it one bit
I couldn't imagine cloud gaming on a OG one like someone else mentioned.

      • If you care about 120 fps and faster loading times, I’d say go for it. Changeover price won’t be that bad if you can sell the One X for a decent amount.

        • +1

Nah fps I don’t care about as gaming on the crappy tv in the den.

        • +1

Fast loading times are a pretty good feature imo - To use the Playstation as an example, the new Gran Turismo were like 40 seconds, down to sub 4 seconds to jump in a race. Those kind of things will stack up when you are time poor.

          • +1

@superroach: i should probably clarify I have no interest in buying games (digital or physical) - literally only playing xcloud.

I mean i guess i could install them too… but xcloud makes it to damn convenient to just jump in and out of games. No need to update, no need to install. Easily change between a HUGE library etc.

    • +1

X cloud is pretty ghetto you must have amazing Internet and even then it has issues.

    • +1

Quick resume and quicker load time are pretty big deal. Being able to stop playing when ever you feel like, then just pop back in, even in energy saving mode, is fantastic.

      • +1

Does this apply to cloud too? I was under the impression the games are running on series x hatdware

    • Just bought one using PayPal about 5 mins ago.

    • Try logging out, exiting your browser and trying a different browser. e.g. if using Chrome, try using Edge instead.

  • What does 1 per customer mean?

I bought one 10 months ago. Would like another.

    • +1

Usually means 1 per customer per 'release batch'. You should be able to get another one.

    • -1

      Brodening??

      • +1

Rofl. Broden would buy them more often than 10 months apart..

  • +1

bought it finally, I use the 10% GC from the last time and paid through Microsoft account balance

  • It’s been a while since series s/x launch, I kinda hesitate now in expectation of the next gen, although it’s gonna be years to come 😂

    • Yeah expect at least 3 more years. There will likely be a revised model but it's only to make it cheaper to manufacture and won't be an upgrade of any sort.

    • +3

It's usually 7 years between major console releases.

      2005 — Xbox 360, PlayStation 3.
      2013 — Xbox One, PlayStation 4.
      2020 — Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5.

Of course, the actual availability of said consoles is another matter (especially with the most releases) but I'd say there's still a solid 5 years before the next iterations

      • PS4 has PS4 Pro as well. I dont know how many years after the ps4 it was launched, so it might be time for PS5 pro soon.

  • +1

ordered and cancelled when it said automatically, ‘weve charged your paypal 749aud’ … it did not even ask me which paypal card to use?!?

    • +1

You probably have your PayPal linked to Microsoft and an active "Automatic Payment" which is linked to a card?

  • request blocked…..

  • Anyone have trouble checking out?

  • +1

Used my 15 $50 ultimate students gift card purchased ages ago and missed the $20 shopback challenge. Anyway, was able to complete the order before OOS.

  • Got one, have been wanting a second one for a while for gaming with my kid.

    • +1

Hey dad can I have another one. Cheers!

      • No, you didn't clean up the cat shit this morning.

        • The one on the council nature strip? Also, how do deadcats shit?

  • OOS now

    • still in stock as of right now

      • +1

Yeah managed to check out, wasn't able to for some reason before.

  • -1

wow 1 hour 30 min in and still in stock the PS5 stock was gone in like 2 min.

    • +1

What point are you even trying to make here?

    • +4

Yeah Microsoft were smart and payed for chip manufacturing priority.
I'd say Sony have learnt a lesson there!

      • Pretty obvious the contingencies they put in place won’t hold for long, given the new lockdowns in China and elsewhere. One could argue there’ll be even steeper shortages of everything this time round, and with inflation on the rise everywhere, today’s price may well be a bargain in 12 months time.

        • Yeah possible, they will still have priority over any manufacturing though.
I did hear a cheaper to manufacture revision is in the works but yeah nothing is really leaving China at the moment.

    • They have a lot. Made a deal with chip manufacturers

      • Evidently not enough, with no stock at all major retailers. And any deals they had did not factor in the current lockdown in China.

        • Why would they prioritise retailers and give them a cut if they can sell all they have themselves?

          • @dosada: To keep/maintain relationships to sell other MS products?

    • If they had sufficient stock, they’d not be restricting purchases to one per customer.

  • Got one. Thanks

  • Do you think it’s cheaper this Xmas?

    • +1

      No, maybe a bundle option.

    • +2

Nope. It will be out of stock

    • +1

Maybe Microsoft will make a bundle by xmas, but better to get it sooner than later, yolo and better to have it for six more months of your life than go without, if you care about this kind of thing.

    • No chance it will be cheaper, with inflation surging around the world. Should they update this model, expect a steep price rise.

  • Hey guys, how do you think this compares to Xbox ALL access? was seriously considering signing up that way as you get gamepass as well

    • Cheaper to buy series x by itself + 3 years of gamepass (buy xbox gold and convert to game pass ultimate) at 130-150 bucks, using a vpn.

    • +1

Not a bad way to get an xbox still, considering you can cancel the full price gamepass whenever you want.

    • +1

You don't have to fork out the whole sum up front :)
I'm on all access and it's been great so far for me.

  • +1

    Got one. Thanks.

  • How to buy via GCs?

I see only CC and Paypal as Payment option

    • Should show the balance of whatever amount you've redeemed into your account. I didn't need to click anything to choose.

    • +2

You need to redeem them to your Microsoft account first.

      https://microsoft.com/redeem

  • +1

    Still in stock!

    • Cause they're better.

  • +1

Got my shopback GCs and got one. Thanks op

  • So many of these are already on FB marketplace near me.

  • Bad Ozb! Now I have another expensive purchase I won't use!

  • Got one using shopback vouchers etc. Now to buy a bunch of cheap 360 games to play with enhanced backwards compatibility. :P

    • Just get Game Pass. This is the way.

      • I understand your thought process. But I like my physical copies.

  • Got one. Thanks.
