  • Is it better than sony XM4? I think this mic is very good for calls.

    • Own both.
Sony is better for music, has more features ( adaptive motion nose cancelling) if you prefer to walk and in general, if you have iPhone, but Bose is better otherwise if you use it to make calls. Clear sound quality ( although if using for work, I prefer wired headsets).

Bose also allows connecting to multi devices.
Sony allows it, but you lose some fidelity. ( I haven't tried it- only connect one phone).

Also, some people have reported issues with Sony with damages caused by corrosion.
      Good price.

      • Thanks for the info.
If you plug the audio cable to the Bose one, are the pros when using it for phone calls still there?

    • +1

      Own both too.

The two headphones have very different feelings on. I'd say the Bose 700 initially clamp tighter on your head than the XM4 but they wear in well.

Sony's have a better sound quality (and LDAC is great if your devices support it) and better ANC in the low frequencies. For music or commuting headphones, these are what I'd pick, especially if I never have to take a call on them.

Bose have a vastly better microphone.(the Sonys are terrible outside ideal conditions) and better ANC in the mids. They're my go-to work headphones - good enough sound, ANC ideal for open plan offices, and microphones that manage everything I've thrown at them.

Sennheiser is a distant third for these two, but often is around for much, much cheaper.

Soundguys have mic samples here - https://www.soundguys.com/bose-noise-cancelling-headphones-7… - rtings do a similar set of tests.

  • On a similar note, these are being sold on Stock X (https://stockx.com/bose-headphones-700-wireless-noise-cancel…). Anyone used this website before and know how it works?

    • +1

StockX is a trading site where you put in offers for an item and sellers ask prices for them. If you match up they'll fill your order. Think 'gumtree but with sharemarket facade'.

They're much more expensive than this deal (the current minimum offer to sell is AU$409) and you're dealing with private sellers. Warranty is going to be an issue.

  • Love these cans

  • TOP15 is not a listed coupon in Shopback!

    • @TheMills: Same with Cashrewards.

Both sites list TOP10 but not TOP15.

      • Exactly, I wonder they will honour the cash back if TOP15 is used.

        • +1

          @TheMills: Hard to say.

For First Choice Liquor, the rep has clearly stated that any code listed on their website will be eligible for Cashback.

Just remember, it's not up to ShopBack whether or not using a certain coupon code will invalidate cashback. It's at the sole discretion of the affiliate store.

  • NC - Bose 700 better than XM, noticeable but not a big gap.

Tested by Mrs w on a Super Kingair which is LOUD

XM4 better SQ, especially if you use one of the neutral eq settings out there.

  • Anyone know where I can get these for a similar price? Found out that a friend was prepared to pay ~$370 when previously they said they wanted to pay only $330.
