½ Price Assorted Ozito PXC 18V Skins (eg 18V LED Worklight $27.48) + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Bunnings

4710

Looks like Bunnings have finally come to the party and cut the prices on many 18V PXC skins to match Mitre 10's Rockwell deal. Will update as I find them.

Really wanting the jet blower and garden shears but they're not discounted yet.

The hammer drill kit comes with a 2.5ah battery so is excellent value!

18V Radio $29.50 was $54.90
18V Jigsaw $32.50 was $64.98
18V Hybrid Inflator $49.50 was $94
18V Workshop blower $26.98 was $49.90
18V Buffer $39.98 was $79.95
18V Multi function tool $34.50 was $49.98
18V Brushless Hammer Drill Kit $87.50 was $149
18V LED Torch $12.48 was $24.99
18V Orbital Sander $32 was $63.98
2.5ah Battery and charger $61 was $69.98 - Unsure if this was discounted earlier or is part of this sale. Better off getting the hammer drill kit above IMO

Still works for me, generally it will have that error if the store you are set on doesn't have it in stock. Changing the store may bring it up

      • Interesting theory but I doubt it due to the fact that typing the product in the search bar via the "snag link" brought it up (without needing to change the store), plus they're was no store option. Maybe Bunnings IT where doing something with the page?

Thanks for the input none the less & happy OzBargaining ;)

Now need a deal on a new shed to put all the tools!

    • Ezy Shed have minimum 30% off site wide - not sure if it's still running and have heard mixed reviews about the quality

      • They always have that. I could never commit due to the horrendous quality reports. It's not that hard to get the holes in the right place using a template surely…

        • It's not that hard to get the holes in the right place using a template surely…

People never cease to amaze me. Lot of flat pack furniture. The difference to IKEA ones is IKEA has a better instruction book and better carboard packing. Skipping on instructions and packaging can lead to endless frustrations working out how to put it together and figuring out you have missing parts.

          • +1

@netjock: The holes are pre-drilled. In the wrong place, reportedly. Ie: easyshed's fault.

There's also other malarkey iirc: minimum two person job due to lack of stiffness, advertised height is misleading as the doors are low clearance. It's been a long time since i looked so i might be off.

            • +2

@justtoreply: Yeah I got one a couple years ago and it's still in disassembled in my garage.
              Absolute nightmare.
Instructions were like they were written by someone on acid and, as you mentioned, it's definitely a two person job to assemble.
You can do most of the work solo with a work bench but, come time to put it all together, it's so flexible that it just flops around constantly.

I'll get it fully assembled one day…..

You have no idea what you are talking about! I have a few of the listed items and have served me very well. In fact all my Ozito tools all still work and many over 10 years old. I even have a 12 year old electric mower that I can't believe is still working after 13 years of cutting back and front lawn every second week. Great quality indeed.

        Cheap china junk!

  • The multi function tool is the tool-free changing one, so it's down from $70, not $50.

    • No idea what the difference is but that's the RRP on Powerpass. The $69 one is listed separately so I believe they're different tools/models?

    • the $49 & 69 appear to be the same tool with more/less attachments.
the piece of shit one sold previously was this: https://ozito.com.au/products/18v-compact-multi-function-too…

      • Huh. I've been stalking one of these for a while and didn't notice the change. Pretty sure my local Bunnings was selling that Allen key one a couple of weeks ago. Oh well, good news for me either way.

      • +2

the $49 & 69 appear to be the same tool with more/less attachments.

The tools are different. The cheaper tool has an Allen key attachment of fittings, but the more expensive unit uses a collet operated by a lever for quick removal/attachment of fittings. Not sure if the have the same power output, appear slightly different in size.

        • Very confusing. In the product photos they look identical and product descriptions both say tool free accessory changes?

          • +1

@keejoonc: I stand corrected. The one on sale at $34 is tool free. I have it, paid $69 for it in December.

Glad I saw this post. Four items off the wish list!

  • Does anyone know what the difference between the regular 4.0Ah battery and the black series 4.0Ah battery?
    Black series $48
    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-black-series-4-0ah…
    Regular $75.90
    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-4-0ah-lithium-ion-…

    • Some people suggest the $48 might not be as good and used as price match to Aldi.

I have a few of the $48 ones and can't complain about them. I use it in the cordless 20L vac.

    • Check stock availability of the black series :(

    • Not sure but remember someone saying the cheaper battery has lower grade cells. Will last less than the higher grade cells.

    • +2

The black is a promotional item. Functionally the same as far as I can tell. I use them in my eBike. No problem pulling 15 amps.

    • +1

the difference is that the black one is never in stock.

      • Yup, they have a limited amount of stock of the black ones so they don't always clear out the stock of the full price ones
Kind of limited their losses as previous to the black ones the normal ones would be cleared out and then when they were full price they would be out of stock for a out 3 weeks. This way new stock for the sale, sell 20 of them then out of stock and doesn't affect the normal full price ones.

  • Thanks OP got some cheap tools ):

  • Wouldn't mind that LED spotlight dropping 50% as well.
    Might grab the inflator.

  • Waiting for a deal on the line trimmer skin: https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-2-x-18v-cordless-line-…

    • +1

I don't think they'll do the 2x18V tools (like the jet blower I want) as Rockwell don't have them. The line trimmer in their range is a very entry level one, only $84 full price so they probably match the equivalent Ozito which is also the same full price

Buy the brushless drill kit. Good value.

  • Can anyone comment on the brushless hammer kit for drilling holes in bricks? I need to drill holes in my garage brick wall and last time I tried (not sure of the model but I guess it was the cheapest brushed pxc hammer/ drill/ driver they sell), using dedicated masonry bits but couldn't do it. I was told masonry is the strongest material and needs a dedicated heavy duty drill.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

    • +1

Rotary sds hammer drill is the bees knees. I've used a corded (always going to be much better than battery) ozito to get through concrete. Tho I use a regular battery hammer drill dewalt for bricks.

Honestly it's the kind of tool you don't need to be cordless unless you're using it a lot. Most people should buy the cheapest corded ozito you can.

      • Thanks, but I also don't have any drill driver at all, so if this can do bricks even if less conveniently, I can use it for other projects too. A dedicated sds drill will see use very infrequently. So my question remains, can it drill through bricks, even if not as easily/ conveniently/ quickly as a rotary drill? :)

        • Should be fine, otherwise it wouldn't be fit for purpose imho.

A good has to be able to do any task a person might expect it to do, unless the outer packaging explicitly says it shouldn't be used that way.

          • @justtoreply: OK thanks, yes I can see one of the photos with bricks being drilled. Will probably buy and try, though since already having a few chargers and batteries, not sure how good this deal is. Wish they had the skin on sale too :)

        • +1

The Rockwell SDS is discounted so might be worth hanging out to see if they match it

          • @whitelie: You mean price match?
I saw the rockwell too and since I have a toolpro battery and charger sitting somewhere, I could go for that. But then I still need a driver. And, I see little value in cordless drills since most of the work around the house is within reach of a power point and the infrequent use makes the case harder for cordless rotary drills for people like myself.

        • +3

I have the brushless hammer drill from the $75 deal posted last year.

If you're doing the odd job around the house then its fine, it gets through my double brick walls easily enough. My advice though is make sure you get decent Masonry drill bits. You'll ruin your wall and drill bit if you try other bits otherwise.

        • The brushless hammer drill can absolutely drill into brick!

But an SDS drill is so much better/faster and the drill bits last a great deal longer as well.

    • I've had the brushless hammer drill since Fathers Day. Installed 3 shelving units in my brick walled garage without any problems. Just use a good masonry drill bit (I used 8mm) and at least a 2Ah battery. It was as easy as a hot knife through a slightly chilled block of butter. Absolutely no problem.

      • Thanks mate.

    • I have used a 400 sds drill with a cheap and nasty masonry drill bit and it was slow going. Paid for a pretty decent masonry drill bit and even my cheaper weaker happer drill can get the job done with out too much trouble.

Thanks for the post. I bought a number of items that I'm unlikely to use before warranty runs out :p

Anyone have any comments on the buffer polisher? Looking at reviews doesn't seem too promising but was hoping to see if anyone here had any experience with it. Cheers.

    • The one with two handles? I have one from toolpro and have hardly used it, bit awkward to use imho. Pros on Youtube seem to use the ones which don't have dual handles but look like those bolt cutting saws, if you know what I mean.

  • Anyone else getting an error checking out? I've tried several times.

There appears to be an issue processing your order. Please contact customer care on 1800 797 586 for assistance.

  • What?! I was just there this evening and only saw discounted price tags on the original posted tools. Went one day too early :P

(Granted luckily nothing there I would've bought)

Thanks to this and the last few deals, I've now jumped headlong into the Ozito PXC ecosystem. Great deal, thanks OP

  • +1

An unrelated question, but can anyone tell me whether the Ozito garden sprayer has been discounted? It doesn't have it for sale on the website but there is one at my local store. I see Rockwell have one so I'm wondering if they've matched the price in store. I've had my eye on it for a while now.

    • +1

Fyi it's great but breaks regularly. The clips on the liquid container shear off.

And don't EVER use it unless you have time to run a cubic metre of water through it afterward because the fcker of a nozzle likes to corrode and jam up.

Also don't expect the o-rings to last.

And don't lose the little black filter on the tube. It's not held on well and will also be the death of the unit.

I'm on my fourth unit from one purchase..

      • I think I'll give it a miss and just stick with my pump one.

        Thank you for the feedback.

        • +1

Tbh I love it. It's so much faster. And easier on my bad back. You just have to be prepared to warranty it.

It's normally $70 iirc, so not discounted.

      • The ozito pxc 7.5L garden sprayer with 2.5a battery is a promotional item and available in some stores (but not listed online). The 2.5L version is available as 'skin'.

    • I've been hanging for them to price match the Rockwell also but no dice so far. I've got a 12L Silvan but a little one would be super handy for spot spraying. Sounds like the quality is a bit off though

    • Ha e had mine for about 4 years now. Excellent unit and love it and still going strong. Just run water through it and detergent to clean when your done!

    • Do you have a link to the ozito sprayer?

They Rockwell looks okay to spray plants and stuff with high branches. And it looks lighter weight. We have a lot of ozito and aldi stuff and don't want a third or forth type of battery to futz around with.

I have two wheeled 12L garden sprayers with 12V lead-acid batteries. usually use it for spraying weed killer on driveway and paved areas. Had to swap batteries, fix broken clips, resolder wires, etc. They are kind of bulky, but good enough. Beats the old hand pump.

      • This is the 3.5L one. May not show up if the selected store doesn't have stock. Usually $79.95 so hopefully they price match it

  • Ping me when they do a Ryobi One+ selloff !

  • +2

Guys word of advice, avoid click and collect if you can - you will be disappointed. Just go into the store and pick up what you need, it's always faster. I got lucky seeing this at 8 pm WA time, but when I got to Bunnings, most of the discounted stuff was already gone.

    • I'd have to agree, the stock isn't allocated in real time and set aside so someone can come and swipe it off the shelf before they pack your order. This happened to me with the Bosch deal a year or so ago. They were good about it though and got one couriered from another store to my house

Wangara and Joondalup are still showing most of them in stock on Powerpass

    • I ordered my stuff at 10:37pm last night, got an email at 3:46am this morning to say my items are ready for collection!

      • +3

Likewise. Ordered at midnight and email at 8:30 saying ready to collect. They must start early but your email arriving at 3:46am. That's dedication indeed.
