Very much cheaper than other robot lawn mowers out there.
A really good little robot mower. Uses an edge wire and does a great job, really happy with mine.

    • Did the same for me, might need to click through the click-frenzy banner?

      • Yeah going back to the home page, then clicking through to the same URL again its now showing as the $799, so not sure whats going on there..

Can it pick up the dog poop first? If not, I’m out….

    • Must have a big dog! Yep, the downsides of having pets!

    • +2

it does not, and yes, it will scatter them if hit. But because the lawn is always perfectly mown its easy to see them to flick them over the neighbours fence.

  • So it will cut and collect the grass? Or just dump it on the side?

    • +1

It's like a whipper snipper. You basically cut the grass once, then it maintains it. The grass to collect would just be a tiny amount, so just leave as mulch. It's just maintaining it, not doing big cuts.

        Thanks, that makes more sense.

  • Is it possible for a dog to accidentally pull up the wire? ie if it is just pegged into the ground I imagine an active dog might dislodge the wire with it's claws?

    • yeah it would be. After a while the wire gets buried by the grass, or you can bury it with an edger to start with.

      • My dog loves digging

How's this compare to the ones from bunnings? Do they have satification warranty since it's a big investment for an unknown brand?

    • Cant speak for the bunnings ones, but they start at $999. I have no regrets.

    • Moebot is not unknown. Think it does what it needs to but I don't like these robomowers as you need to install perimeter lines for them to operate.

Newer models and brands (at much higher cost) coming on to market are removing that barrier so waiting on that to improve before pulling the trigger.

Again depends on what you need but this price is pretty decent for a Moebot

      • Reading through the product page for the Moebot, it seems you can specify perimeters/boundaries:

Set up to 5 working areas

Within seconds you can program your MoeBot via the APP to mow up to 5 different working areas, ensuring that all areas of your garden get the desired attention they deserve.

        and…

What about an isolated area of grass that is not connected to my main lawn?

No problem, you can create an isolated cutting zone. This is a great solution for things like terraces, grass areas, front lawns other side of fences etc.

      • Do you know which specific models/brands are coming up without the need of a perimeter wire?

  • Just reading the manual and thinking about theft protection, the pin code has "ABCD" and 4 positions so overall 4x4x4x4=256 possible combinations, am I correct?
Although every 3 incorrect trials you need to wait 15 sec, ultimately nothing stops you keep trying, or can it be locked remotely via an app or something like that?

    • Yeah I believe you're right. I can't see a way to remotely lock it or anything. A big negative I agree.

      • Thanks Acopic, also would it have a siren sound when manually moved outside parameter wire without correct pin input?

        • It beeps but not loudly. You do get a push notification on your phone though if it's stopped/tipped/moved outside the wire.

  • OP - does yours mow front and back lawns?

    • Yep. I have to carry it to the front bit though as there's no flat connection around my house between the two yards. Same wire loop just ran it under the house. Ideal world there'd be a grassed or flat connection between.

      • Thanks. Is it set up as two zones then? Or just hit start in whatever zone then pick it up when battery is flat or completed the mowing?

Edit: All ok. Just read that two separate charging stations can be used.

        • Haven't bothered with zones as the two parts of the yard are totally seperate. I just dump it in the front yard loop then it stops after whatever time I say or when it gets low on battery. Tried to follow the wire home but can't once it gets to the house, if I had a path it'd then follow the wire home to the backyard. I grab it, dump it in the back then press home to send it home.
