Hi everyone!

*****UPDATE 31-05-2022******

Morning everyone!

So I woke up to see all the comments, cheers for whoever originally pointed it out. I've gone in and confirmed indeed the product is the Microsoft Surface Go , Model 1824 , Pentium Gold 4415Y, Same 8gb ram and 256Gb ssd. Want to apolgize for the mistake , was indeed a typo one of our guys did on the original listing. I'll be reaching out too everyone who has purchased to offer refunds, or some discounts on the original purchase to make up for the mistake. Stock will be adjusted accordingly so if you are still interested there might be some available still. As for the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 & 7 i've confirmed they are correct. Im expecting to hear back today/tomorrow for some other stock so stay tuned as well, still trying to get my hands on some more Surface GOs. If you have any questions feel free to DM i will be on all day to help out. Again cheers for the support we'll continue to bring some cracking deals in the future! ( and hire a editor haha).

Cheers,
Gabriel

  • Perhaps limit at 1 per buyer next time? Yeah i know there are ways around that, but people can only have so many PP accounts or CC's

Lol, same commented above as i was typing this

  • +1

    Yes please op!

  • would not mind getting in on this …

  • +5

Noob question..why is this so popular?

    • +1

      because it's a proper bargain

    • Better than most laptop deals in the same price range, while being in a tablet form factor.

    • i wonder this too, its only a dual core processor

      • +1

It's mainly because people aren't really versed in the secondary market values for laptops.
In my eyes, this is definitely not a great deal simply because of the lacklustre processor.

      • +1

Most people use surface for the device size. No laptop has the tablet form factor can be compared to surface yet.

  • Would be good to get in on this too, be ideal for the kids

  • +1

Would like to get in on this if there is a second wave

    • -2

People have been heckling FuseTechAu, you better go suck up to them to get on 'the List' that all the people who missed out want to be created.

      • +1

You can downvote me but am I wrong?

      • +3

lol, most the "suck up" comments are "tongue in cheek", all in good fun… I don't think there's any need to be negative about it…

        • +1

I believe yours to be, but many others are willing to almost push others out of the way to get one for themselves.

  • I'd be interested too. I'll even take one without a keyboard/pen.

  • I would love one if there becomes ones available

  • This is a really good price. I'll buy one if they get restocked.

    • me too or they may come up with something better, as an alternative. It's a good store.

  • +4

Why are we getting excited about these? The processor is positively ancient, even with Windows 11 running efficient, it will be too slow.

    • +1

windows 11 will be awful due to the very weak processor. I would wipe win11 and put linux on it.

    • +1

I use an old Surface 3 for travelling, it does a great job for surfing, checking mail, watching vids, editing photos and basic video editing… it gets a bit sluggish when I'm running multiple mapping apps so I'd like to get my hands on a Surface go…

Horses for courses, there's not much else in the way of Windows devices this cheap, light, low power consumption, and USABLE…

    • Lol Exactly why OP didn't even mention the processor in post which is one of the most important parts of a laptop!
It's a 7th gen Kaby Lake Pentium GOLD 4415Y. 14nm entry level CPU at launch (supports only ddr3 memory).

I guess the money is in it being a surface - good display with touchscreen…

  • -4

    What CPU do these have?

    • +3

      Intel Pentium rofl

  • Damnit!! more stock please

  • +1

Glad I didn't see this deal earlier otherwise would've pounced on it and then would've had another device I don't need.

  • Is more stock coming?

    • We can all live in hope ! … I'm just excited refubs are finally starting to come on the market, it's been a bit of a wait ! …

    • No longer the $269 ones?
I dont really need this but who doesn't want the less than 300 instant write off by the end of financial year haha.
Anyway thanks OP!! I will share this to my colleague who really need a extra device.

    • What are the condition of the surface pro 5?

    • Let me know if you get the go. Looking forward to the go

Guys please be careful of the model Surface Go described in this post.
The details are of Surface Go 2 (launched in 2020, still bit recent & decent), But the processor "Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y" is old & was not used in Surface Go 2.
It was used in Surface Go (Launched in 2018, which is quite old by tech standard).
The product might be Surface Go & not Go 2.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surface_Go
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surface_Go_2

@OP, should update the post to reflect correct info.

    • +1

      Good one! Thanks.

Whups… 35 cancellations for sure… misleading ? Or just typo

      • -1

I wont speculate if its misleading or typo. Hope that OP provides updated info.
But hoping that our Ozb mates get their Go 2. :-)

    • +1

It clearly says "Intel Pentium Gold 4425Y" in the surface go 2 wiki page

    • +1

Thanks, is it better to buy Surface Pro 5 12", I5 Gen 7, 8GB Ram or Surface Go 2?

      • +1

I don't know your use, but check out this wiki page & check at bottom timeline of launches & how old is product (which gen).
        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Surface
Surface Pro 5 is 2017 launch, so personally, I am not very keen on it (Pro 6, Pro 7, Pro 7+, Pro 8-current were launched after it) .
But I might go for Go 2 (Go 3 - current, launched after it) if it becomes available, as it is bit recent.

        • -1

Thanks mate. I will stick with Surface Go 2 if it is available.

    • +1

Yes, keen to know whether they are actually the Go or Go 2 models. If Go 1, I'm probably going to cancel.

      • +1

        It's GO 1 lol.

OP not sending mixed messages whether this Is Go 1 or 2.

    • +5

I think OP might be in bed, mate. Negging at 1am because OP hasn't responded to the earliest question about the difference in models is bizarre lmao

      • People pointing it out earlier than me, don't lick OP's boots bruh, he won't give you a discount as he is dishonest.

      • -1

        Opps.

  • +2

Unless it’s a typo it sure seems like it’s the GO 1 and not the 2…

  • +3

I would think it is the GO1 if as noted in OP it has the 4415Y processor. The GO2 has the 4425Y.

  • +1

The other specs are for the Go 2 - 10.5" screen, NFC.
Hopefully just the processor spec is wrong.

  • I reckon that it's the GO 1, and there will be lots of cancelations, so it will be back in stock soon enough with the proper adjustments, definitely not GO2 as people were led to believe.

  • Hi OP, does the Surface Pro 5 have a data sim slot to support 4G/ LTE

    • Unlikely, only the high end had them and they were pretty rare in australia

  • This remind me of a hdd deal a while ago, the store rep quoted wrong model, we all got offered some refund. He said it was a misunderstanding between him and the suppliers who provided the information

    • +2

Please give more discount for Microsoft Surface Pro 5! Thanks OP!

      • +1

haha look the price already has been discounted! Im trying to get my hands on some Surface Pro 5s that can make for a $299 deal or less, perfect for the tax time ride off.

        • Sorry, what do you mean by finding stocks that are $100 cheaper than your current listing price? They won't be grade A then?

          • @tajid: Ah! I meant Surface Pro 4s** 6th gen i5s , but dont worry they will be A-grade!

        • +1

Just make Surface Pro 5s $349 and Surface Pro 4s $299. It will be perfect! Thanks and hope they are good quality.

          • +2

@zozuc: Consider OP has already sold half of his stock at the current price in less than a day, that is unlikely to happen.

          • +1

@zozuc: or make the Surface Pro 6's $399

    • I got your email, but no new price is mentioned. Are you expecting us to haggle individually?

      • It will be resent with prices adjusted, cheers

        • When will that happened? Received the first email but waiting on the second to see the discount

          • -1

@pepsicles: Hey, send through a DM with your order number so I can check, mightve been lost in the emails but that can be done no worries!

  • +1

SURFACE PRO 5 12" is $399, seems like a decent price.

    • Yeh im tempted to pull the trigger. Is the i5-7300 any good? Can it run all office programs

  • The problem with these soft-keyboard tablet/PCs is that they tend to get broken in schoolbags, from crushing or impact, and repair is prohibitively expensive.
Though at $269 I was willing to risk it.

  • +1

The Surface pro 5 is only $200 off from other site.

    https://www.mydeal.com.au/microsoft-surface-pro-5-i5-7300u-2…

If it's half price then it would be a bargain

    Need quad core

    • Agree…for laptops/tablets I personally would rather spend a bit more and buy new.

    • +1

But this is also a refurbished.

  • Hey guys,

Seems we've been banned/locked on Oz bargain, assuming due too the confusion of the sale so i'm unable too respond to messages on Ozbargain at the moment. If you could message via our Facebook ill be able to answer your questions.

Also anyone know how to get un-banned? i've sent a message through, assuming just gotta wait till a mod responds. Hopefully can clear it up to continue to help out

    Cheers,

    • Fixed, it was an automated security measure blocking your pms due to high volume.

  • lost it in the middle of check out…damn!

  • Can anyone vouch for the condition and cleanliness of these refurbs?

  • +1

The Surface pro 7 refurb seems a bit pricey

there was a deal for $998 brand new and current 11th Gen
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/700687

  • +1

Got my refund for the Surface Go 1. Thanks guys.

  • Passmark 1598? Yikes. Deal or no deal this this is truly obsolete.

  • …so can I buy the surface GO 1 now?

    • -1

      helllloooooooooooooooooo?……………………….

  • Does the Surface Pro 5 include a new battery?

  • +2

The GO's have been re-appearing in stock on and off this afternoon, I assume as people cancel their orders, I grabbed one to replace my old Surface 3 :)

It seems a lot of people want a GO 2 rather than a GO, personally I wanted the GO because it seems less temperamental about charging methods, it can be charged from a good old 5v source without issues I believe, it's just slow, where as the GO 2 seems a bit fussy, it "seems" to need USB-PD… I travel a lot, often remote areas and I use various charging methods off the motorbike, boat, campervan, old powerbanks in the tent, and such, even though 5v is slow it's just what I'm set up for and easier to stick with that than modernize everything to PD…

    • i want one too, but it says out of stock always. what's a usb-pd?

      • I believe its USB-C port with a Power Delivery charger.

        • -1

never heard of such a thing
all chargers deliver power, that's their sole purpose.

  • +3

Could you please fix the product images to that of the Surface Go instead of the Go 2? The original has thicker bezels which might be a deal breaker for many including myself…

  • Has anybody that opted to pickup directly from store received a notification to collect it yet?

    • Well I hope what their site notes is not actually true.
      "Pickup available at FuseTech AU"
      "Usually ready in 5+ days"

I opted for shipping via express post but certainly wouldn't be express unless shipped today!

      • Thanks. I totally missed that and would have opted for express post also if knew it was 5 days. Chose store pickup in the hope I could collect it earlier. That's on me. 😖

        • +1

Call or email them. My guess that is just a default "Tag" they have on there. I can't understand why it would take 5 days to prepare for pickup nor.be quicker to ship. I certainly hope it is not a case of it taking 5 days to ship. Will give them until tomorrow to ship and then ask about it.
