How many keys do people even have?

    • +89

House key, work key, car key, key to your mother's house

      • +19

Can confirm I also have a key to their mothers house

      • +1

Jokes aside, that's literally 2 keys that go in the keyring, and the car key goes on the outside.

        • Joke's on you, there's a category where only two things go in one place. Other stuff definitely ends up outside.

    • +12

      Many keys to success

    • 3 house keys, Bike keys, 2 keys for bike luggage and shed keys

    • -1

IKR, what is this 1995? 😂

    • +4

Do you even know who DJ Khaled is? Mans dripping in major keys

    • +15

I think people have too much […] time on their hands

Says the person commenting on a product they have no interest in buying.

I like my orbitkey. It's a small way to add personalisation to my belongings while keeping things neat. If you don't like it, that's perfectly up to you.

      • +2

        haha exactly!
I wasn't sure an orbitkey would suit me until I saw my mate's the other day and stoked they're now on special. Just ordered :)

  • thanks OP, bought 1

  • +1

Been waiting for this to come back on sale to put away for the Mrs Xmas gift. Cheers OP.

  • you're meant to attach your car keys to the loop at the bottom? Way too bulky

    • +1

Yes; that's what the D ring is for

    • Well it wouldn't fit in the main section.

  • Surely there are cheaper versions of this? Seems exy for what it is?

    • +3

They do a cheaper plastic one and there's no end of the usual Chinese knock-offs.
But I will say for these that the workmanship is excellent.

    • +2

I bought a China copycat but find that you have to keep screwing the locking mechanism now and again as it gets loose overtime.

      • +2

        Add a little thread locker?

    • I bought one from Ebay for $7 after seeing the sale price on these, my Ebay one looks identical. Have had it for a few months now, hasn't faded or cracked, still looks like new.

      • +2

Sometimes we pay for the R&D (using the term loosely) that went into making a product, with the cheap copycats skipping that process and reaping the benefits with none of the work.

For a product at this price point, I'm happy to support an Australian brand.

  • These are great! I've got the clip V2 as well.

  • -1

I have these, they are great. You can get them under 10 bucks if you are okay waiting 1 month from AliExpress.

  • How do people rate the crazy horse leather to the natural leather?

    • +5

      Sanity of the donor

  • bought 4! thanks OP

Makes great gifts for friends and family

    • +1

      Can I be your friend?

      • +2

you can be my online friend :)

  • Which material is the most durable?

    • Get the active/rubber/polymer tpu one over the leather one. They last much longer and stand up to wear and tear much better.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/11027272/redir

    • I have the leather, denim and rubber.

I prefer the Active/rubber they are cheaper and stand up to wear and tear much better.

The leather one are good but the edges starts flaking off after a year of use.

The denim gets dirty easier, fray around the edges after a year or so but you get yourself a distressed denim keyring over time.

      • +1

Did they not fix the leather ones? Or does it depend on the type of leather?

I bought a leather orbitkey 2.0 from the kickstarter and the edges flaked off quite quickly. I contacted orbitkey and they sent a replacement leather band for me which has now survived daily use since 2017.

        • +1

That leather was a gift for my approved home loan with a particular bank. It has their logo stamped on the leather band.

  • Thanks OP, been waiting a long time for a deal on one of these. Bought 1.

  • +1

I considered buying this, but with my car and garage fobs also attached, this would still remain bulky.

  • If you only have 3 keys, why do you need this thing?

If you have more than 3 keys, and they are all similarly sized, a simple key ring is much more effective and portable than a solid block of keys.

If you have more than 3 keys or different sizes, how are they going to fit?

Good marketing though, selling things that people don't actually need. :D

    • I don't want my keys to scratch my wallet and other items in my bag?

      • this wont prevent that, it doesn't fully cover your keys

        • Mine fully covers my keys? Only one that isn't covered is the car key.

      • Do you have 2 pockets?

        • +1

I'm female. You think we get pockets with our clothing?

          • @kerfuffle: Sorry. I can't understand why women's pants or even skirts don't have pockets. Will it make them look fatter and that's why they need to carry handbags when men can put all that into their pockets?

            • +1

@abacus: That's why there's the meme that goes like this:
              "I like your dress!"
              "Thanks! It has pockets!"

  • +1

If you are like me and only have 1-2 keys, it does not screw together tightly. To pad it out a little I purchased the bottle opener tool (which is pretty terrible for opening bottles, I give it to my friends to watch them struggle) 3+ keys is fine.

  • +1

All Premium Leather (except the Blush with Blush Stitching and Rose Gold Mechanism) are no longer $31.43. Post may need an update.

    • Updated.

  • Can it fit keys with the coloured rubber caps on?

  • +1

    Why are these so expensive

    $81 for black lol
    Crazy..it's just a key holder

    • +4

The regular price is ~$50. You're probably seeing $81 for the black because the local stock sold out, and it's now defaulting to showing the US Import stock which is more expensive.

  • Thanks OP. Got one!

  • house: keypad and bluetooth
    office: wireless fob
    carpark: wirelss fob
    hell, even bike lock: passcode

It's been maybe 10 years since i've needed a physical key

  • The blush is 76 now

  • +1

I've owned one of these for 5+ years and there is almost no signs of wear. Have purchased for many happy family members and criscringle recipients. Would happily purchase more in the future if necessary.
