possible it will stack with the $20 voucher on sign up, make sure to activate first then use the $20 link to sign up

    • +1

I doubt it. The $50 does not stack with anything. I got it an realised almost all my purchases over $50 on ebay had been done with one sort of code or another.
The $50 only works with full-price items.

      • +3

im talking about this offer, if eligible activate the $50 offer & sign up through the $20 link, possible you will get both vouchers $50 & $20, happened in the past deals

        • You are very much right but the $20 one does not show up now, whereas till yesterday it was coming up every time.

          • +1

@Hunt1: Still showing for me, just use the link in my comment above

            • @RogueWolf: Accepted the $50 offer, signed up on the $20 link and only received $20.

        • lol reading that offer even the poster doesn't think it is good value… purely there just to stack with other deals XD

    • +1

And what if on 4 July eBay say that there is no $50 for you because you used $20 link?

      • thats the risk you take

        • $20 eBay Plus Voucher

The code cannot be used in conjunction with any other eBay offer, coupon or voucher.

I don't have an email yet but I can see the offer on my eBay.. though the conditions say it's only eligible for those who receive an email invitation for it.

    You've already accepted the offer
Join eBay Plus and get a $50 voucher

Anyone have any experience on whether I'd still be eligible for the voucher if I haven't received the email invite?

    • Same here. No email but found the offer in app

  • +14

This deal is only going to anger those who engaged in the recent shopback $40 cashback promo and are still struggling to get tracking.

    • Any update on that?
      I havent received the confirmation.
      Has shopback made an announcement?

      • Yup no luck with me, I screen captured the whole thing waiting to hear back

      • I was lucky. It tracked as calculating after about 3 days and then about a week after that then I got the tracking of the $40. I was also lucky as I was able to go through the special link on Shopback for the $20 voucher (as I had been getting that message in my account for at least a month before that deal)

      • I reported a Missing Cashback through Shopback, you can find the ebay Plus order ID (I used the Authorisation code) in your ebay messages.

Once I submitted the request, the $40 cashback appeared in my Cashback Overview in a day or two.

        • Really? I did that and still waiting weeks later

        • +2

Did the same. still says calculating. Where is gotyourback. My back is hurting now.

    • i submitted missing track and waiting to hear from them.

  • +6

Now we need CR or Shopback to do a $40 cashback deal that works

  • Is the $50 voucher only for plus items?

    • +1

Usually it's just a code that works on checkout (once) that takes $50 off the payment price of any eBay order

  • +3

I noticed this in clause 6 of the terms of the offer:

If you meet all of the Conditions set out in clause 4 above, a Voucher will be issued to your eBay account on or around 4 July 2022.

Don't be too surprised if eBay don't email you the voucher on 04 July.

  • Finally my eBay plus summary came up my codes.

  • Still haven't got any promo stuff from these guys and I have over 1000 feedback and a 20 year old account.

    • +2

make a new account for much better chance

      • +1

Yeah nah, if their marketing people are this bad, they miss my business in general.

  • I received it too despite accepting a similar offer three years ago. I cancelled at the end of the year.

I found eBay Plus almost useless at the time but since then the Plus only offers have got better.

I suppose at -$1 is it good value despite the conditions.

Having read OzB endlessly for years, I'd have to guess that eBay plus is (sometimes) worth it, depending on what you want to get.
I tend to dislike eBay because Amazon return policy leaves it for dead and AliExpress has most of the same items for 10 or 15% less.
Nowadays I'm "amazon for urgent!" and "aliexpress for save money and wait ages"
eBay kinda got it's lunch stolen by Amazon in that way. I used to use it a LOT more before Amazon

      • +2

        Same

      • It depends on whether you managed to score some of those special deal items. The $99 for AirPods 2 years ago, for example. Problem is, paid eBay Plus customers don't get priority on those deals so some of our fellow OZBers just created new accounts to snatch them. Also, if you didn't know the browser caching trick, you generally had close to zero chance. Even if you knew that trick, the chance is still low (because we, OZBers, do share, so a lot OZBers knew about that method).

It's not as bad as people indicate. Give feeBay some credit, with Covid lockdown, feeBay Plus did throw in free express postage for a while, so that was quite useful. Yes, I know Amazon Prime is even faster, but if you have to buy items on eBay (coz. they can still be cheaper sometimes), then eBay Plus does help.

You cannot AliExpress Samsung SSDs to get vouchers. I am guessing for people with AfterPay, they might have gotten some pretty good deals on feeBay in the past.

      • They left their lunch box open and waiting for Amazon :D

        • Dude, when Amazon first came here I was so annoyed, it was terrible.

First 2 years, TERRIBLE selection, bad pricing.

Now, they're on the ball. It's almost sad for other vendors.

    • +1

eBay Plus is useless I agree, but do people think this membership would appeal more if they gave members at least 2 x FVF listing to sell???

FFS, they were giving these away to random people like it was going out of fashion, I don't see why members should not get at least 2 FVF per month.

Got the invite via email, but when I click the link to activate it, says sorry this promotional is by invite only. wth?

    • login to the eBay account (if you have more than one) that is linked to the email.

      • Yeah I did login, just not working. The offer even showing on the banner.

        • +1

I'm in the same boat - got the email, but then "Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only." when I log in to the ebay account associated with the email address.

        • -2

Login to the associated account, not one of your other 25 backup accounts….

          • +1

@bargainshooter: Ha I wish I have that many. The last time I tried creating second one, was cancelled by ebay after 5 mins. So only have 1 and even 1 is too many due to lack of use lol.

      • Same thing here. doing it on a PC not mobile. Worked for me then.

    • +1

Same, i have escalated it to ebay support chat. They said, will get back by email.

    • Yep, same.

      • +1

I just tried again and I was able to activate. They may have solved the issue. But now down to if I should or not as I can't really find anything to buy with $50 voucher.

        • +1

Thanks, mine worked now too. Also not sure if will actually join, have to find something(s) worth $50 that wouldn't be better off with a discount code. I joined for a month recently but only because the extra 2% discount for Plus members covered the fee plus a couple of dollars extra saving, but it was zero use after that. Next time I need it likely just do the same thing if it works out.

Probably good to remind everyone that it's also essentially an "up to $50 off voucher" not like a gift card. Remember reading about people getting caught out buying $10 worth and not happy when they found out they couldn't use the voucher any more.

  • I got invite and accepted offer.

As for signing up, there is another banner with "sign up and get $20 voucher". Can I sign up through that link or will that negate the $50?

    • I guess screenshot the $50 acceptance, should you need to ague it out later.
Only problem is: perhaps there is some hidden T&C buried in walls of text specifying that one negates the other that some eBay CS dunderhead will enjoy pointing out to you later

      • +2

These often state "cannot be used with any other offer" or words to that effect but I can't see that in clause 3 or 4 of the T&C for the $50 voucher:

"3. Eligibility. This offer is only available to the select users who receive an email communication that contains the offer (“Eligible Users”). To successfully sign up to the offer, Eligible Users must:"

"accept the offer by clicking on the 'Accept offer' button shown in the email communication OR onsite marketing homepage banner on eBay.com.au; and
Sign up to an annual membership for eBay Plus valued at $49pa."

"4. Conditions. This offer entitles Eligible Users to an eBay voucher valued at $50 (“Voucher”) when they successfully sign up to the offer as set out in clause 3, before the end of the Offer Period. A limit of 1 Voucher per person applies."

I don't have the $20 offer in my account so can't check that one.

        • Thanks, for checking that. I guess the flip side is that the $20 offer will probably disappear some time today.
Perhaps I will jump in and bite the bullet, argue it out with CS later lol
EDIT: Here are the $20 offer T&C - cant see any refrence to combining offers specified:

This offer entitles you to a $20 eBay voucher (“Voucher”) to spend on eBay if you sign up and pay for an eBay Plus annual membership during the Promotion Period (“Offer”).
The Offer will only be available for the period that it is advertised on www.ebay.com.au (‘Promotion Period’).
The Offer is only available to users who have an eBay account with a registration address in Australia, and who have an appropriate purchase history (“Eligible Users”).
If you are an Eligible User and take up the Offer, you may sign up to the Offer by:
clicking on the promotional banner on ebay.com.au or a link found in the offer email; and
signing up for an eBay Plus annual membership through the sign-up flow available here: https://www.ebay.com.au/ebayplus/subscription/signup?promo=P…
Standard eBay Plus Terms and Conditions apply when you accept the Offer and sign up for an eBay Plus membership.
The Voucher code will be displayed at the end of the eBay Plus sign-up flow to Eligible Users who successfully take up the Offer. The code will also be sent to the user’s ”My eBay” voucher section on desktop.
You can only redeem this Offer one (1) time during your eBay Plus membership year.

  • New plus members only?

  • +1

Dang, didnt get it this time. Gonna wait it out.

  • Didn’t receive an email but showed up in app and said I had accepted the offer. I just signed and hopefully will get the voucher in July.

  • Main ebay page now advertised for the $50 voucher for eBay Plus now.

  • +4

For those who didn't get an invite, this worked for me.

I didn't get an email invite and I didn't see any $50 offer on the website, but I did see a $20 offer.
After clicking around for a while (including looking at My eBay and the eBay Plus pages), the $50 offer suddenly appeared for me on the home page and the $20 offer disappeared.
I'll try get the $20 voucher as well through the link: https://pages.ebay.com.au/Buyer_coupons/plussignup/
Note that I accepted the same offer last year and my eBay Plus expired last month.

    YMMV

    • I wonder if one negates the other?

    • Should get the $30 gift card too if you did that. Hoping I can also get this $50 voucher for a possible triple stack but not seeing anything yet (my eBay Plus also ended last month).

      • Not sure how you could incorporate that one as its a renewal offer

      • But you won't get this offer if you already have ebay plus, isn't it? So only the $30 gift card if you renewed already.

    • +1

This worked for me too. Only $20 offered initially, then after a few pages, found and activated the $50. Screenshotted too. Thanks, mate!

    • +1

I can confirm this worked for me as well. Opened the link for the $20 voucher, browsed around and the $50 voucher banner appeared on the main page. Thanks

    • Damn it! Doesn't work for me! :(

    • +1

      Thanks mate, worked for me!

  • +7

Last time I joined eBay plus (with this same promo a couple years ago) they ignored my cancellation and billed me for a renewal. Despite my proof that I had made the request, which was an actual confirmation email from eBay notifying me of the cancellation with reference number, they refused to cancel the invoice for renewal (after a lot of back and forth, and plenty of rudeness on their end). After I refused to pay, they handed the invoice to debt collectors.

I provided the same proof to the debt collectors when they first mailed me and that was the end of it.

Unless you actually use eBay frequently, I'd avoid signing up for the pass even if it appears to be 'free' with this promotion.

    • I keep hearing the worst stuff about this in these threads. It's crazy how many real bad stories there are.

What a mess - thanks for feedback, dodging bullet.

  • Do i need to cancel my current membership of Plus which does not expire till November

    • You already have an active subscription during the promo period, therefore you are ineligible.

      • +1

        Dummm bay :(

    • +2

Deal is not applicable to current feeBay Plus customers. Just like most companies, no reward for loyal customers. Hopefully, feeBay offers you a similar deal in November.

      • and what a shit they send us these emails why was i targeted :(

        • +1

Ask eBay CSR to see if you extend your eBay Plus for 1 year now, will you get that voucher? I'd watched out for eBay CSR though. They do have the tendency to tell you what you want to hear, so if they said yes, I would want assurance that if you ended up not getting it, they can and will give you a $50 voucher manually.

I just don't think eBay is that nice to you. Well, maybe I am wrong. At least you are targeted, I get nothing.

          • @netsurfer: Thanks for the suggestion :)

            • @Brisbane1: I am not responsible for your actions. If the CSR told you what you want to hear now and refused to give you the $50 voucher later on, don't blame me. I am cynical about feeBay's willingness to reward people with active feeBay Plus subscriptions.

            • @Brisbane1: Yeshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh chat worked fine and got $50 voucher

          • +2

            @netsurfer:

they can and will give you a $50 voucher manually.

            as if!

they still owe me a ebay plus monthly $5 voucher for April and wouldn't issue me it manually.

            • @wekimekigugudan: There is an easy fix for your situation. Sign up for a new feeBay Plus trial account, instead of wasting time. This one is $50 so it "might" be worth the trouble.

Honestly, I don't see the big deal of those $5 vouchers (due to all the restricted terms and conditions). They are fairly useless in most cases since you cannot use them with other vouchers. I would said 90% of them had gone unused for me when I had feeBay Plus.

          • @netsurfer: That's not how this works.

There is no option to extend ebay membership. You either 'cancel' and it will say your membership will end xxx. Or it auto renews on xxx.

  • Now I need either $49 AMEX/CommBank eBayPlus Sub Cashback reward + $40 Cashrewards/Shopback Cashback just to really milk it.

  • +1

I signed up to Ebay Plus but when I renewed last year I emailed support saying I wanted to pay the fee on a different card. They told me they'd have to refund me and just get me to join again. I never joined again, but I still kept the benefits, so I've had a year of free Plus.
