  • Received trade in coupon after 12 am but price is back to $1250. If I get price match over phone tomorrow morning, can I still apply the tradein coupon code?

    • +4

For now I can only see Amazon is still selling at Telstra day price. Not sure if they will stay when JB opens tomorrow. I think JB don't pm "yesterday's price"

      • Do jbhifi price match amazon ?

        • Sometimes, depend on whom you are talking with No guarantee.

  • Thank you to all those that have found work-arounds. Will be picking up the phone tomorrow along with sending out my beloved HTC One S as it was the only phone that I could trade-in with a valid IMEI.

  • +1

Expired. It's back to RRP $1249.

  • +3

Daaaaamn I didn't realise prices went back up at midnight… I saw this at 6:30pm before going out and thought I'd take care of it tomorrow. Even my smashed pixel 3 xl would have fetched $60 so was a good chance to get some value for it. Fingers crossed they pm Amazon in the morning…

    • +1

Same but let's hope amazon price stays the same until tomorrow afternoon.

  • Amazon is still having the discounted prices, but Officeworks have reverted back to normal price. So the cheapest for those wanting to get it outright is to price beat at Officeworks.

  • I already got charged $355 from asuriom for some reason after they charged me $1 . I don't plan on sending s21 so hope they give it back.
My phone value was $420 though??

    Any one had this?

    • -1

Anyone with extra charge other than $1 from assuriom guys?

  • -6

Didn't know so many people were into small phones

It's totally cool if you are but I just didn't expect the deal to be this popular

    • The promo is for the entire series. Mods have been asleep the entire evening.

    • Works on ultra if you want that big. But base model is more like a bargain.

    • +2

The cost of the trade in and the percentage off ($500 + trade in value) vs the original price is a bargain on the base S22 series ($1049)

      • And using giftcard to pay the remaining. Wonderful. Sadly wife wants a bigger screen and 256g. I end up buying a plus.

  • Got a Pixel 4a and was looking at upgrading to the 6a when it comes out. I haven't used a Galaxy in years. Anyone gone from a Pixel to Galaxy recently? Thoughts? I'm a sucker for stock android and stock apps.

    • +1

There's alot more features that some find useful and some find as bloatware. The best feature on the Samsung's that I use and the pixel doesn't have are
Set battery to charge to max 85% all the time - I leave my phone chargers all day at work and all night when sleeping
      Double tap screen to lock

The things that annoy me the most are
Having two app stores - a galaxy store and a play store
Can't delete some Samsung, Microsoft and google apps
And bixby is worse than hey google assitant and siri

Def more that I missed but that's what I can think of at the moment

      • +1

I was leaning towards getting a Pixel but Samsung offering 4 years of support (plus this deal) saw me stick with them as I try and keep my phones for 5 years. I'll agree the bloatware and not being able to remove some apps is annoying.

I don't know how it'll go on the newer phones yet but regarding bixby, the best thing I ever did was get an app called bxActions. It allows you to change the function so instead of launching bixby you can launch any app you like. Not only that but it allows you to configure single presses, double presses, holds etc and have each do a different thing. It made that bixby button actually really useful.

        • +1

My last Samsung was s7, not a fan of Samsung. Bought a s22+ for wife, purely because she wants a better camera. I personally prefer pixel, but recent pixel phones have too many issues almost every year.

        • The S22 doesn't have a Bixby button.
Anyway - I used to love stock Android, having used a Sony, Motorola and Pixels, but I've now been using the S22 and it is so much better. A lot of power user features you don't think you need.

Anyone had luck price matching Amazon or another seller? Last time I went in store and tried I got a direct “We don’t price match online stores” response which has put me off ever since.

    • +6

Just called JB at 13 52 44, they couldn't offer the last night price anymore. Apparently, it was a one day rebate offered to JB.

      • why did they tell us we had til 18th? smh. i had the voucher and was still considering whether to get base or plus.

        • +4

The 18th was to use the trade-in credit - the sale price was for yesterday only. This post was for double stacking the discounted price with the trade-in credit

    • I just did price match with Amazon $1147 for 256G in store. Maybe Try a different store

  • Did anyone get their orders halted for inconsistent data by Squaretradeup? I put in 2 trade-in orders

    • Meaning no voucher? Or can not apply to your order?

      • got everything and checkedout with Jb Hifi - but email after saying everythings been suspended

        • So you bought the phone online but still got canceled?

        • That's probably a good thing. You don't need to deal with cancelling.

          • +1

@Techie4066: Nope apparently Squaretradeup CANCELLED my order. Now if my order is not reinstated at the same price as last night I'm going to be pissed the fk off. There was no grounds for them to cancel the order. I am legitly going to trade in my phones

Edit: contacted JB. Order was cancelled by Squaretrade and JB Hifi can't do anything about it, new order will need to be placed at new price. Squaretrade support are now quoting T&Cs that aren't publicly available like the right to refuse trade in credit for anomalies on their end. Squaretrade can get stuffed.

Edit 2: discussed with SquareTrade Support and they quoted T&Cs that they can cancel order on ANY grounds, fk never want to deal with them again. Asurion charged my CC when I told SquareTrade to cancel orders (for phone I no longer want to Trade in).

            • @OZcheepsk8: What's this inconsistent data they're accusing you of? Even with the "hacks" mentioned in this thread we supplied them at a minimum:
              - Phone model
              - Imei
              - Personal contact details (without ID)

              • @divineiniquity: Not mentioned, they just mentioned they reserve the right to cancellation and right not to grant credit before phone is traded in (physically received by them).

  • I got a phantom black 256gb s22. If anyone have a brand new 256gb s22 plus and would like to have its smaller sibling instead, I'm happy to swap and make up the difference.

  • Ok guys,
    Still hope here.
I got the coupon yesterday with $420 trade in already.
Couldn't buy it before it got expired.
I just went and tried to match s22 plus as I really wanted the bigger one. The rep said they couldn't price match it as the seller was not from Amazon.
All the low prices of s22 in amazon are from different seller so they couldn't price match.
Now I browsed and found s22 in green for yesterday's price from Amazon. That's the only phone with yesterdays price.

    Got s22 256gb for $650 just 15 minutes ago.
Now i didn't use my $420[for s21 256gb]code but already got charged $355 to the squared trade email.
    Anyone got this.

    • Do you have the link to that s22 on Amazon?

      • Don't have the link as I am outside but its green one and then you have to select seller to amazon

        • The green one I found is still $1168 :(

            • @kisshell9: they wouldnt accept that seller, said it might be a gray. has to be official samsung store.

              • +2

@magnitude: Mate make sure to show them the amazon au as seller. Go to other seller.
It's the green samsung s22 256gb only. Amazon selling for $1147 so i got the s22 for $647. The cheapest one 1139 from other seller. Find that and do it again. If not try in another store.

The rep that did my order was very suspicious and he actually searched the Amazon website himself and declined selling its not from Amazon direct. So when I showed him that phone. he said he needs to talk to the manager. he came back in 1 minute and I got it for cheap!

                • @kisshell9: Can confirm I got this in store today too. They matched the $1,139 green colour one. Before I went to store I got the live chat to match it but they said something about using the AU Amazon site and gave the $1,147 price. Girl in store was lovely to deal with and did the cheaper price. Had to check with manager too but it was fine.

Anyway I'm so happy to have used my gc too from an old zip deal. Extra %20 really sweetened the deal! Good luck peeps.

            • @kisshell9: When I changed seller it went to 1269. Sad

    • Why would they charge you 355 already?

      • No idea. I had used Asurion for s21 deal before and didnt send the device.
I emailed squared trade but they say that it was handled by Asurion.

        • +2

Too much drama. I will send my phone. Too many old phones there needs to be cleared anyway

          • @ce5himm: But my trade in was $420 and not $355 so i dont know what is going one. I am going to email them

            • @kisshell9: Better figure it out. You don't want this to affect your credit score or something in the future.

              • @ce5himm: I am thinking it might be due to the fact that i had also tried to use the Samsung trade in.
I got the trade code but haven't used it. The date seems to be on 4/07 so looks like its not linked with this deal.

So looks like assurion doesnt handle JB Hifi trade thing.
                Can anyone chime in?

                • @kisshell9: Asurion is totally unrelated to JB. They now immediately place a hold charge, and then charge the value in the event of a no return.

                  • @Techie4066: So that was for the Samsung website. So the thing is i never bought from samsung website and don't plan on using the trade up value.
Hope they refund me asap. My credit card is almost negative. Damn Asurion. The $355 must be the trade in value they quoted for my s21 I think..
I should get the refund without hassle right since i never used there Trade code?

    • +1

Looks like the price has been changed to normal for the green s22!

    • Is this still possible

      • +1

Yes, you still can get phone for cheap if u you got the voucher. And if you buy a phone you can use the new phones imei to get a new phone. I got two right at the time when I started looking for a new phone. Just bare in mind that if you get a voucher again for new phone your account will get banned or locked. I locked my wife's account after getting the new phone.

        • How many are you going for?
And are you telling SquareTrade you're cancelling or leaving that to them since it's $0 value for example.

          • +1

@Techie4066: Just two for me and my wife. That's all. So 1st phone, I just used the $500.
I got a $420 trade-in value but did not use that. Hope I don't have to email them as I never used it in the first place.

For the Second one, I got $650 for the new s22. That account got locked so no charge there. And I used its voucher to buy another one.

  • missed the boat :(

  • +2

I just spoke to JB Deals. The best they could offer me over the phone was $1,189. Absolutely spewing :(

    • were you trying to price match?

    • Is that for S22? It's only $40 more than last night, probably not bad if you can use the $500 voucher on top.

      • +5

Last night was 1049 this is 1189, $140 more

        • Ah yep, I was comparing to the 256GB price which was $100 more

  • Shouldn't I just not trade in my phone, take advantage of the $500 voucher, get charged for the $200 of the value of my phone (Oppo Find X2 Pro 512GB) and just sell it on FB/Gumtree/Family for what I know could be more money? I dunno if anyone else has had the same idea.

  • my pixel 5 is coming as $250… how do I get this to $0 and get the voucher. any tips?

    • Add damage.

  • +2

Just attempted to price match and they said "I'm afraid it's not possible to price match on this occasion as it's below our cost price. However, you can always give our Sales Team a call to see if they can offer any deals. You can reach them on 13 52 44." No point trying anymore I don't think. I still have my $500 trade in voucher for another 10 days so I will see if there is another sale before then (fingers crossed for Prime Day)

    • did you get the voucher with $0 trade in?

    • +1

Same boat $0. Will you send the phone or not? Just afraid to be charged. Not sure I'll use this voucher in the end.

      • +1

I'm not going to send the phone. But if you aren't going to use the voucher then I would probably contact SquareTrade and cancel your order to make sure you don't get charged - you do have another week though so maybe wait to see if the phone goes on sale for Prime Day?

      • +2

Not sure why you're worried, charge is $0 northing more

  • +3

I also thought this would last until the 18th, oh well.

I expect Samsung to have similar or a better offer soon. I heard from somewhere that Samsung has too much stock that they can't get rid off.

    • +1

One can only hope. Worst case then I have only lost my time

    • +2

This seems to be a recurring thing with Samsung, why so much stock they can't move? One answer is that people really can't easily afford their full price on these, especially with cost of living issues. But when the deals can be done, it makes it so much easier.

  • can't do $0 order anymore…..

  • +5

    Collected today. Thank you!

  • The $0 glitch is no more right?

    • Goooonnee

      • Like the wind :(

  • +1

Not as tasty as yesterday, but through jbhifi livechat, I have managed to get the S22 for $1,149! So if you're still in the market, give that a go.

    • +1

Yep get livechat to price match https://www.amazon.com.au/Samsung-Galaxy-Smartphone-256GB-Gr…

I went in store to use gc and they still matched it. Used my $500 coupon and gc's no problem

      • Wish Amazon still had the price on the S22+.

        • Me too, I'm keen on the S22+! Not sure if I should get an S22 instead, but it's a damn good price if you can pricematch and use the $500 coupon

      • Hmm, this is a marketplace seller - they just refused to price match.

    • for the 256GB hopefully?

      • Yes

        • how??

          do you have a receipt?
