  • I am getting an error when trying to sign up to cointree

    • Same here. ID verification is stuck in an infinite loop.

      • Signing in to Koinly also does not seem to work for me.

        • I hate technology. 🥴

        • +1

Maybe try different browser/s or device.

          • +1

@Tenzin: It finally worked. I had to log in to Koinly separately, keep the tab open, and then I went back to coin tree and clicked the Koinly link.

          • +1

@Tenzin: Thanks for the link and the help. ☺️

Once you are signed in & in Koinly, can you upload your transactions or link another exchange eg Binance?

    • +1

Yes. It seems like once you are in Koinly, then it will just operate as usual, not exclusively for Cointree. I have linked Cointree and two other exchanges.

  • same here, error for verification.

  • -1

Signed up, signed into Koinly but the plans are all the normal prices?

    • Nevermind had to login a second time and it worked

    • Select a plan, then scroll down and the total should show but with full discount underneath, and total due= $0.

[edit]: Okay, nice, you got it.

  • +3

I made it through the verification process, but get stuck with the “sign in to koinly” button on transactions. It just doesn’t do anything. I am on IPADos so that might be the problem.

EDIT: works on desktop browser. Thanks OP!

  • +1

    Worked for me too, thanks!

    • You're welcome.

  • +1

    Cheers, thanks OP.

  • I just get "Could not find user" when I click on "sign in to koinly"… using same email address on both Cointree and Koinly

  • After registered do we need to always log in with Cointree first or can we log in directly with Koinly?

  • +1

Just got Pro plan for a few years. This works! (Already had a CoinTree account.)

  • it keeps refreshing the page during the signup with Cointree and cannot go any further :(

  • +1

    Brilliant! Thanks OP!!!!

  • +1

All done. new ac and pro plan. Did not verify ID either..those having could not find user issues- I suggest log out and login again

    • +1

Yep, or use chrome on iphone, safari have me the verification loop.

  • Sorry for a bit out of topic, for those who have koinly pro plan, do you have to link/log into your exchange credentials or upload the transactions can produce tax report?

    • need api

    • If I understand what you're asking correctly – you link Koinly with exchange via API (read only) or can upload as CSV (in most cases).

      • Thats right, im an old school who is concerned to enter my binance/exchange credential in third party sites (e.g koinly), similar like poli (enter your banking credentials)..
I would prefer uploading csv but then i think the fees (in coin instead of $) and Staking/interest would be disaster

        • u can manually upload all the transactions in csv file format

        • +2

To clarify, you don't need to enter in your exchange login credentials to Koinly (third party site). You create a "Read Only" API within your exchange, and then enter the API details into Koinly (so all they could ever do is "read only" and nothing further). Hope that helps, but understand the old school notion of preferring manual methods. For reference, I am very risk adverse to entering in banking details within third party sites (Xero, for example) as this is ACTUALLY giving your login credentials to another party. For me, there is a clear distinction. But on the note of uploading CSV to Koinly, it can depend on the exchange, but I'm of the understanding it should provide all the same data, and in some cases CSV files are required (due to limitations with some exchanges).

Thanks OP, just saved myself a couple hundred

  • I wonder if a koinly referral link will work with this? Since you are making a transaction I think.

  • +1

    Great stuff.

  • +2

    thanks OP

  • +5

is it over? I get regular pricing. Relogged 3 times

  • +1

    Great find! Thanks OP!

  • Signed up to Cointree, asks to verify a phone number, won't send out a code. Anyone?

  • +1

You are a taxtime lifesaver! Thank you!

  • +1

    Awesome! Cheers OP :)

Signed up, received referral bonus, claimed Koinly all in under 5 minutes!

    • What referral bonus?

      • Until 31 July 2022, referee receive $10 worth of Bitcoin sign-on bonus. Referrer receives $50 credit after referee makes a trade.

        • +1

I didnt receive $10 and I know the referral tracked. Weird

  • +1

    Thank you!
Once signed up, how to connect Cointree to Koinly:
    On Cointree
    Log in to Cointree.
From the top navigation menu, select wallet.
From the new menu below, select transactions.

  • +2

You're a legend! Genuinely just saved me hundreds 🙏

  • +1

Thanks OP it worked for me.
I had to log in and out to after verifying.
Then I had to sign in and link my existing koinly account.
After that had to relaunch window.
Went into plans clicked on pro and it showed me an upgrade option for $0.

  • +3

FYI, If you need more than 10000 transactions, you can add more (during the initial purchase or after) and they get 100% discounted too!

  • +4

Thanks OP. Was kicking myself for missing out on yesterday's deal - this is like second chance in life. Went crazy and bought FY23 and FY21 too.

  • +1

    Brilliant thanks!

  • +1

Thanks OP - I think I would have cried if i'd missed this one……

  • how long does verification takes? i'm worried i'm gonna miss out :P

    • a few minutes

      • FAQ's say this could take up to 24 hours

  • How long does the verification process take? Went thru the verification steps, page is still asking me to verify?
Note - I did receive an ID approval - but still appear stuck in verification step.

Edit - just saw the post above asking the same. I guess I'll patiently wait a few minutes…

    • -1

      I didn't verify

      • how? it doesn't let you integrate to koinly without verifying

        • No idea. Might have been a glitch

  • +2

Someone posted a Koonly pro plan yesterday for free but post got removed

SWYFTXLIVE22 Here is the code for Koinly pro plan not sure if it’s working

    • says "coupon does not exist or has expired"

    • +1

It got removed/expired because it ran out of redemptions

      • Thanks worth a shot

    • +1
      • Does this mean the OP offer is null and void too?

        • +2

This offer of 1,000 free reports is a new and separate offer than those 3 from yesterday.

  • -3

Good offer, just know as soon as you link your KYC'd account with Koinly the government now has full access to that information. Ill pay the full costs thanks 😂. Nice donut, no bait.

    • +3

Is that a problem if ur intending to pay tax on cgt or claim loss?

      • They really shouldn’t treat Crypto as capital gain, it’s nothing like it. Sure it’s similar to a share but even then you can’t buy a house or meal with a share or pay bills. Unsure if the ATO even understands it or just wants a cut of the profits.

        • Logically, shouldn't it just be treated like forex trading, which is even less favourable than the current rules? Same principle. Nil cgt but categorised as income at standard income tax rates.

          • @Ezuku: That s worse than cgt… u can't claim loss or may be i'm missing something

            • +1

@Bargain-er: No particular point, just that forex was the closest thing to my mind when you said there was nothing like crypto. It's quite similar really. So if anything just be glad cryptocurrency isn't taxed like forex.

        • You can when you sell it, I guess that's their point…

    • -2

its not really an issue just keep this in mind * make sure your koinly is sorted out properly before linking.

  • Can we get tax reports from 2 accounts from same exchange? For example : tax reports account A n B both are binance accounts

  • +1

    Cool thanks op!

If both my partner and I have accounts on an exchange, do both of us need it? or one Koinly pro account would do the job?

Pretty sure API keys of different accounts are different too…does anyone know if Koinly allows you to connect more than one exchange accounts or do they limit it to just one?

    • You could probably delete everything and then repopulate it all inside Koinly but that's annoying - just get free plans on both

      • I did this exactly and I had no issues.

Wasn't annoying at all.. Once I generated my tax report for my own account, I no longer require to use it anymore so I deleted it and added my wife's exchange.

    • Yea wondering too

    • -2

Give it a try and let us know the outcome.

    • -1

You could just create two Koinly accounts for each of you and link individually

  • +1

    you legend! thank you @Tenzin

  • +1

Thank you, I claimed for both 21-22 and 22-23 years!

  • +1

    thanks

  • I'm not seeing it, does anyone know if you have an existing Koinly account if it would still work?

    • Yes - i have always had koinly through coin base but this deal still worked

      • Mines only applying a discount 30% discount. Either it's run out or because I've purchased from them before I'm not seeing it.

  • +1

    No more?

  • +1

    Thanks mate…worked for me

  • missed it again!

  • Doesn't work for my existing Koinly account, it gives me a discount but it's not free.

    • worked for me on an existing koinly account

      • did you do it before or after my message above? I thought I might have come along just as it ran out

        • before

  • ffs always expired

    • +1

this one was active for a lot longer than yesterdays

  • On a side note, I'm wondering what they are actually trying to achieve…

If they only offer the cheaper plans for free it would be easy to understand - they can upsell you the more expensive plans.

But "pro" is already the highest plan…what else can they possibly sell?

    Maybe it's just for branding??
