Isn't this normal price? It's also that price in Total Tools

    • -7

Ok, I have seen higher prices before

      • Sure you're not confusing it with the hammer drill kit which is usually $289?

    • Same drill driver in that kit. For me, I'll definitely get the bunnings kit for the extra impact driver and the battery.
That being said I would rather get a $119 Makita 12v driver kit.

  • Waiting on a decent deal to start my tool collection, either Ryobi / Makita / Bosch.
Dont think this deal is good enough to pull the trigger…

    • -2

      ok then wait

    • I've got a mixture of Bosch and Makita.

Part of me wishes I just went Ryobi.

They have a larger range. Makita is catching up tho.

      • Thank you, this is really helpful. Might wait for Ryobi

      Several reasons not to:

1, Those are officially the previous generation M12.
      2, Only one battery.
      3, US Plug.
4, Most uncomfortable 12v at least for me.
5, No idea what's the point of super powerful 12v tools. For plumbers maybe?

      • +3

Well, I bought this 2 weeks ago.

The new model comes out in a few weeks so it's still current.
It comes with both batteries, not just one.
US Plug, spend another 99cents, and buy an adaptor.
Highest selling 12v over the last year in the US via Trade Unions Accredited Sales.

The 12v Impact on setting 3 is the same as an 18V.
I use mine every day on every job, if I was a builder or carpenter I would obviously use 18v, but for a service tech, I don't need the additional voltage.

My first 10 years i used 18v and nothing else… once you carry a tool bag this is heaven-sent.

          Got your point.

Actually tested the 2-battery kit a few days ago. It's ~$470 locally plus a 6ah battery via redemption. Can never question the power of Milwaukee tools but the ergonomics is not that great for my hands(small-medium).

      • 6, No warranty

  • 12v?

    Is this a toy?

    • +1

yes ,you can use it as a toy pistol

  • Purchased them on a previous sale for $199. Very happy with them, plenty of power for the work at home and DIY. Haven't used them for commercial projects but definitely recommended for home use.

  • Is this good for as a 1st drill kit? I have no clue about drills need one for general household work. Don't even know the difference between hammer and impact drills, ha. Don't even know which one i need, maybe both? Need to drill wooden cupboards, interior doors, exterior brick walls, etc

    • +1

You need a hammer drill for brick. Maybe think about a Ryobi hammer drill kit. You can use that on timber, steel and brick. Be aware that some bricks will eat masonry drill bits, because they are extremely hard.

    • +1

12V drills and drivers are excellent for household tasks such as furniture assembly, hanging pictures (not brick/concrete/masonry walls), extra holes for shelves etc. You would appreciate the light weight, small form factor to get into tight spots. You probably want 18V for anything that is heavy duty such as holes in masonry, landscaping, building.

This set is on the high end of the 12V tool spectrum and is priced higher accordingly, mainly for serious/regular users. For DIY you could probably go for a cheaper brand/set, or get an 18V system (which are getting smaller and lighter anyway) so that you can get other 18V tools in the future without needing to get into another battery system.

      • I would like a set of these for all the reasons you mentioned. However, I am struggling to justify adding another battery system into the mix. As an occasional DIY user, I already barely use the 18v systems I have.

Please someone add more reasons to buy and push me over the edge.

      • Thanks for the info, i appreciate the detailed reply

  • $217.55 if you have PowerPass

  • Well it might be a deal, but I got the 2 x 18V batteries, charger, bag, 18V drill & driver kit for $150 last year. So there are better deals out there every now & again. Obviously not the brushless for that price…

  • +1

Not a bargain. It’s the everyday price from multiple sources as mentioned above. Another example:

    https://sydneytools.com.au/product/bosch-12v-scrr-20ah-06159…

Slightly better deal as they offer free delivery over $99

  • For an extra $20 I highly recommend this deal I posted a while back. The tools are great!

  • I got the 18V kit from this deal a couple of years ago. Heaps better value considering this is normal price
