Sign up with new number and then cancel plan.

      • Thanks so just do a new Optus number. Cancel it and put my boost simcard in.

        • Yeah wait 3 to 5 days to settle in the optus system then cancel.

  • Any payment, whether it be the month to month fee or early termination fee, is to Optus right? So you can't use a Harvey Norman gift card to pay for it?

  • What id do I need to sign up for the plan, passport, medicare and drivers license?

    • They ready have all that it’s your SOUL they are after now

  • They should give it for free in exchange to selling your data 🤣

  • If your an existing Optus customer, are you able to get this deal with a new sim and then port your existing Optus number to the new service?

  • Note $49 plan is 4G only.

  • Super new to phone deals as I always just buy outright and pay amaysim month by month. But does this deal mean that for $69 (i want the 5g) over 24 months I dont have to pay for the phone? or do you end up paying for it aswell.

    • the flip is free on this plan so nothing for the phone. Just the sim.

      • Okay sweet, time for a new phone then!

  • This supports esim and physical sim at same time right?

  • Is the screen strong? Not curve? Before I used to have a new Samsung with a curve screen, I dropped it and immediately shattered. Over $400 to replace.

Bought a new phone (not samsung), have dropped it many times and it hasn't broken yet.

Does it have an SD Card slot?

    • +1

s22 screen is flat, Samsung ditch the curve for most lower end, only the Ultra has the curve screen now

      • Thanks!

    • +1

      No SD card slot.

      • Thanks!

      • Remember if you life in the US and love the fruit brand: You pay for a "pro" and in return find the slot has gone!

  • +1

Will the invoice have full price of phone ?

  • +1

@farque any similar deals for the Fold 4? 12month contract?

    • +1

      Nothing unfortunately

      • Any deals on fold 4 at all, like 24 months contract, or 36

  • +4

@farque am I able to pay the extra $100 upfront and get the 256gb version? or is this deal limited to only 128gb variant

edit: btw good onya for answering all these (profanity) stupid questions including multiple of mine… kudos sir

    • +9

      Yep you can.

      This is the (ozbargain) way

  • does the phone need to come out of its packaging ?

    • Nope

  • -2

So why does this link say MINIMUN cost $1179?
    https://hndgwww2.azureedge.net/gpa/hnau/optus/20220221/CIS-4…

    • +1

They have to state minimum cost assuming you would stay for 24 months.

  • How long after purchasing new sim/plan to terminate early ensuring the $588 cost?

Do you also get the gift card as well? Sorry if you've already answered.

  • -1

Any possibility there are similar deals for the Ultra? Thanks for sharing!

    • +5

      Its answered numerously above, no.

  • Decent deal, but I'm not sure if its an upgrade from an S10+?

  • Thanks OP (farque) for your post.
So if I cancel within one month then the cost is $49 upfront for the first month plus the maximum cancellation fee of $588 for a total of $637 (plus whatever calls I have made before cancelling)?
Can you please advise how to cancel the $49 plan?
    Thanks and cheers
    MM

    • Call to cancel or just churn out.

      • Thanks. I've churned a few times over years, but have never cancelled outright.
Was asking as I'm planning on just getting a new number with this Optus deal and after cancelling I will replace the SIM from my current phone, so I keep my number and stay with the carrier I'm with now.

        • +1

Just port to a $2 sim

  • -4

I would rather shit in my hands and clap

    • Imagine one hand full of shit from optus and another hand full of crap from Gerry Harvey. Then clap them real close to your face (for 24 months) - that's what this deal is. The battery life on this model is shit & camera has lag (reddit is full of complaints). Most people will try to get out of this "deal" in 12 months as they can't take the shit clapping.

  • Hi OP, can you confirm these plans don't allow data pool? From the CIS you posted: These plans do not share data with any other Optus mobile or mobile broadband plan.

Also can we add a new number to an existing Optus account or is this only for new accounts? Thanks

    • +1

No data pooling, yes can add a new number to an existing account.

  • I'm confused.

How do I get the flip 4 outright for $0 and connect on the $69 optus plan?

    • It's a bundle.

Sign up the the contract for 24 months in store. You don't do anything except hand over direct debt and identification details.

  • -1

Can I pay extra for s22+ or ultra?

  • +1

I dont get how the gift cards work ? It you can get a $1000 gift card by going in the $99 plan them cancel early for $1100 - aren't you basically getting the phone for $100 or did I miss something?

    • 1024 for the phone + 1188 for the plan - 1000 gc.

  • $49/m but you forgot to mention 1-digit of your id each bill

    • Eh considering over 1/3 of the population was caught up in the leak, might not matter for a lot of people lol. Also even better if you held off on changing your licence or passport until cancelling this plan.

  • +3

what's the tax invoice price we get for the S22 and Flip4?

    Asking for TRS purposes…

    e.g. do I get a receipt for $1048 for the S22 and $1499 for the Flip4?
Does HN effectively give us a gift card that is used for the above prices?

  • Hi Farque, can I return the phone and get $1048 GC?

    • Love the thinking! Stick it to Gerry!

  • +1

So people going with the $700 GC it would be

    $69 p/m
    $1656 / 2

    $828 Cost
    $700 GC

    $49 p/m
    $1,176 / 2

    $588 Cost
    $200 GC

    $99 p/m
    $2,376 / 2

    $1,188 Cost
    $1,000 GC

    • not sure, can you explain how does $700 GC works?

    • You'd need to have a use for the gift card

  • Seems to still only have the GC deals on HN website… Is it instore only for the $0 upfront? Or am I missing something

    • +1

      In store only.

Customer sees what looks like a good ad from a former vacuum salesman.
Buys high tech device in good favour.
Switches it on and find it does really suck!
Lives in a modern area with state of the art mobile towers.
Finds device from ex vacuum salesmen does ONLY connect to ancient legacy radio waves.
Mr Jones next door shows off with a his latest Dyson, he has of course watched Project Farm.
    HN customer keeps crying……

  • How to buy from HN. Do I need to call them? Or visit store?

    • Visit store and have dl, medicare ready, I was already a optus customer so the process was easier but still the processing took awhile.

      • Hi, thanks I am at HN and process there is smooth and walking out with brand new flip 4 😃,
I already had $69 Optus sim only plan, so I had to go to Optus first to change to prepaid then HN were able to process me with the deal.

  • +1

Could someone please report back today on how they went?

    • +24

I went by car. Other people used the bus as the shoping centre has a large amount of buses from various routes making stops.

  • +1

Can we cancel straight away (maybe like in a week or so)? I have to go overseas soon, so might not be able to hold for a month and then cancel

    • +2

Nothing stopping you from staying for 1 day or 1 year

      • cool, thanks!

  • +25

Sorry - Thats all the time I have for questions now,

Ill let OZb community do the rest. Good luck.

    • +6

Why, where are you going, when are you coming back?

      Are you seeing other people?

Just be honest with me, is it something I did? I promise ill never yell at you again, you got me angry is all.

We can work on it, you never try, you just go silent and expect things to get better.

go, GO THEN to your girlfriend Kath Armstrong from Cheapskates Australia, go make laundry detergent for 2c a wash! ACA rated it as doing as well as water alone.

Or is it Ruslan Kogan, you're just in it for the money, huh? Gerry Harvey? Who, WHO ARE YOU SEEING!

  • +1

Would this deal be applicable against a Telstra 7 day price match for a new s22 on a plan?

  • +13

Can confirm I just picked up a 256gb s22 and paid $100 in store (for the extra storage capacity). I called Optus the second I stepped outside and they have proceeded with confirming my cancellation fee of the 24-month contract with a total outstanding final Bill of $588.

    Absolute bargain. Thank you @farque

    • +2

Did you have to also pay 49 for the first month?

    • Thanks for confirming. Just wondering why don’t you hang on to the plan for a month and switch to JB plan once they have the gift voucher offer? That’s what I’m heading towards.

      • Not sure if the second question is for me…

I'm already on circles $23 a month 100gb sim plan so a pain for me to switch SIM for just one month and go back or to an JB/Telstra one after and who knows when they actually provide a decent offer.

      • What plan are you referring to?

      • Not gonna pay $49 per month and wait, but also I don't need a lot of data and currently pay $15/month on half price internode deal

        • You didn't have to pay the initial $49 for the first month? Just the $588 for the early termination?

          • +1

@vee_el: They just told me my final bill but I'm yet to actually recieve any bills so will see. Although I'm unsure if they had the chance to bill my first month before I cancelled haha it was active for maybe 15 mins. Will update when i find out

    • +1

How is the phone processed on the receipt?

      • Keen to know as well

      • +1

        $0 + $100 for me

    • Hi Jayblesz, could you please confirm whether this is dual sim version? thanks

      • Aren't all aussie models of the S22 single SIM? Seems to be only the greyselling dropshippers have the dual sim ones?

        • it should be dual sim, 1 physical, 1 esim.

          • @CodeXD:

            esim

Oh right I'm still stuck in the mindset of physical slots so missed the embedded-sim on the spec sheet.

      • Not opened yet sorry might update tonight after work when I open

    • +1

      @jayblesz
Thanks for the post mate. Can you please confirm if they have the full value of the phone on the invoice?

      • +1

        It doesn't

    • Soon we going to have so many S22 on Facebook Marketplace.

    • What is the invoice GST amount for TRS purposes?

  • +1

Where is the deal? I don't see it anywhere on the link. It just takes me to hot deals

    • +2

      Go to store..

  • +4

Just got our phones done on the $49 plan
If you have a block on Equifax or Illion you will have troubles, we had to put them in my wife's name.
We also upgraded the S22 to 256gb for an extra $100 each.
Good luck everyone, it's going to be busy!

  • I just called Harvey Norman local store and the bloke said if I get the S22 early termination fee of the plan is $1176? Am I getting that right

    • Not according to t&c. Early termination id half the remaining plan balance

      • I called Geelong store instead (I am Ballarat) and the store person confirmed $588 early termination.

    • Confirmed $588 ETF

  • What sim only deals are people on? I can buy outright for $549 with trade in etc, but not sure if this deal actually works out better/cheaper

    • +1

With this you will end up with 2 devices and you can still trade in the original later on

    • where can you buy at $549 with trade in? I think the JB offer already expired
