  • Got one.. There were people lined up at 8am!

Bought mine with Shoppers Protection.. I hope this goes down in 6 months which it should :D

    • I got the last one at 9am they only had 2 for sale so I was lucky. What is shopper protection? Is that an extra fee?

      • There were heaps at my local

Shoppers protection costs 0.5% od your end of month balance so $5 for $1000
Great thing is if you pay it off before the bill comes they dont charge u anything for it.

        • Not quite true… If you pay it off before the bill comes that means you lost the "privilege" of the interest free that most credit cards provides. If the interest rate is 21% pa that means it is worth 1.75% per month and most credit cards offer 55 days interest free which means a potential savings of 2.625% of interest (more than 5 times of 0.5%). By saving I mean if we were to borrow the money from bank (which basically what credit card is designed to do)?

If your credit card usage usage is quite big say.. $10000 you may not want to use this protection though

Not quite sure what your trying to argue.. If it drops in price I get refunded thats all you need to know. Unlike most people I only buy what I can afford and have NEVER paid any interest on credit cards in my life. If your smart with your money Shoppers Protection is a great system.

        • NEVER paid any interest on credit cards in my life

Oops, did I forget to write "55 days interest free" there? I'm sorry

        • 0_____o

Seriously why do u want to argue?

        • No interests on credit cards? Please tell me m0nkeycheese! (seriously)

  • Got one in innaloo wa. Now to buy or not to buy the netbook at DSE across the street in 15mins

  • Bought one today @10am in SA, seemed to be plenty of stock.

Paired with the 2 games for $32 at jb-hifi this is a good deal.

Is it normal for these ps3s to have really loud sounds when reading from the hard drive? When I play cds, dvds and bluray movies it's silent so I don't think it's the bluray drive but as soon as I start gaming I get a grinding/brrr noise every couple of seconds. I can hear it over the game's soundtrack from my couch - sounds exactly like this example:

Doesn't seem right, but if it is then I have no idea how anyone could enjoy gaming with that in the background?

I'd take it back and swap it.

It's not normal it's got a faulty hard drive. Take it back to the shop.

    • That's what I get with my PS3's disk drive. Pretty sure it's just spinning.
I always thought it was normal and I'm not bothered. But if something like that bothers you, you should go switch it.

  • anybody knows what company of kmart chosen carrier?

  • Sony are planning an even slimmer PS3. Rumor is that it will be released in the US in fall.

This maybe a way of moving stock before they release a refresh.
