I know..I know….they are inkjets…and companies make money from sellings cartridges. BUT it has got a scanner too….and it's wireless…so IMO it's good for 9 bucks..

The specs don't really say that it's wireless…but i received an email from DELL showing the same price and photo of the printer…and it says it has an built-in 802.11 b/g/n wireless printing. So not sure about that.

EDIT : Those who don't beleive me…check this out : https://docs.google.com/open?id=0Bxkv5bFG68uYRFFDNTZ4Yzh0QVk

      • should i offer him $9 inc. post?

        • +1

A true ozbargainer would offer $8.95

  • Are people starting to receive second and third printers?

Dell must be trying to throw them all away…

    • I never received the first one. But I did get a 2nd and 3rd. I'm not sure if I was charged for those. This is weird.

  • i still haven't called because not only can i not be stuffed, but there is no international number to call. i am overseas and cant call that small handful of digits number they give. anyone know what i should call? i suppose i should try and make my printer wireless soon..

    • I just sent them an email asking why my printer has not been delivered when the due date was 2 weeks ago :P
I have not heard a single thing from dell since that first email (yes i have checked junk folder).

Dont want to wait on hold for half an hour.

      • Got a response just then, They offered the same deal as everyone else. Took the "eqivalent model" option instead of refund :P

Probably should of done this a week ago.

  • What the hell. Still haven't received my first printer. Dell is incredibly bad, along with their customer service.

  • +1

anyone found any cheap cartridges for the v525w ?

  • I now have a v515w and a v525w, I'm hoping for a 3rd lol

    • SAMMMEEE!!!

Happy I got the v525w as the v515w doesnt support Mac other than basic printing!

      • yeah there are v515w drivers for Mac & Unix

        • Only got it to work with standard printing, no duplexing. Also couldnt get the scanner or wireless to work, although didnt put much effort into that.

But it doesn't really matter anymore as the v525w works perfect and supports iOS airprint.

  • +1

i haven't received yet even status order said estimated day is 06/07/2012
    what the heck Dell

    • Lol, you vote positive then make a comment like 'Dell sucks' hahaha

  • I ordered 1 but got 2 printers as well…..1st was a v515w then 3 days later I got a v525w

gave the v515w away to a mate

  • Still haven't received my 515 yet despite calling last week with a ETA date of 17th Jul.

  • Has anyone received their V313?

Or, has anyone received THREE printers? If you did, how many times did Dell charge you? Was it still $9 total?

I got two printers, but neither of them was the original V313. Not that I'm complaining because I think these are better.

Here's my version of the story:

Dell never contacted me (via phone or email). I never contacted them. I assumed they had no stock on the V313 but I didn't chase it up. Though I would have if another month passed and I got no communication from them. But I did not keep up to date on the happenings of this deal, or this thread. $9 was not too much to be concerned about.

Then I got a call last week and an email from Dell saying their courier has my printer. I was wondering why they didn't just deliver it, so I called them up and got a consignment number, chased it up with Star Track by phone on the 17th of July. They said they attempted delivery on the 12th of July. I did not see them leave any card. I asked them to deliver it next day (18th) which they did. I did not open it. I just assumed it was the V313 I ordered months ago. I left it in its box and that was that.

Then a few days later a second printer showed up. I was like.. eh? Did I order two? Checked my order history with Dell, the original V313 placed in June has still not yet been fulfilled, but two other orders for printers were made for me, which I did not place. One was for a V515 and another is a V525w. So I got both as a substitute for the V313. I'm still worried they may have charged my card for these but I don't think they did because my card expiry date has changed since I placed the original order.

They never asked if I wanted the upgrade or refund. They just did it all themselves. I didn't do everything.

I have to say I am very pleasantly surprised with Dell's service. I have bought from them numerous times in the past and have always been 100% satisfied with their service. I always recommend their laptops and monitors to others and will continue to do so.

    • +1

I received 2x v515w on initial delivery but had to send one back when Dell realised their mistake.
      Yesterday 2x v525w turned up!

Only been charged $9 once and yes I agree wholeheartedly with your comments re Dell, 100% Dell here and have been for the last 6 years!

      • Do you think they will realize their mistake again and ask you to give back one of the v525w?

        • +1

No I don't think they will.

I've come to the conclusion Dell are happy to offload to us as these rebranded Lexmark models appear to have been discontinued in most markets even the v525w which seems to have only been out a few months.
The 313 and 515 have received such disastrously negative user reviews on Dell's own site and Amazon with all their problems that surely they must be damaging Dell's reputation.

Initially I think Dell only intended to clear stock of the v313 but then decided to cut their losses and ditch the full line before starting afresh and releasing a new line of better inkjets, most likely from a different manufacturer.

Just imagine the landfill/carbon tax/recycling bill Dell would be hit with to dump many 100's of these printers.

Of course they could have offloaded the lot to COTD or similar sites but then that would only bastardise the Dell brand, much better to create goodwill and pick up new customers by dividing the remaining units amongst us, the purchasers who took up the original clearance offer on the v313.
All this is just my theory, maybe I'm wrong but Dell aren't fools, they would have picked up on the mistake quicker if it was a glitch.

Incidently I've logged into my Dell account and the 5 printers are all listed there with their service tag numbers, order number and date of order and warranty even the original v313w which still shows as order in progress.
The order for the 2x v525w was generated on 17th July, maybe I've come to the wrong conclusion here but surely if it is all a mistake Dell would have realised long before July 17th?

TBH it wouldn't worry me if Dell have made a mistake and want to pick up the extra printers but I'm keeping the v525w that works, they can have the bodgy 525 and the remaining 515, $9 inc delivery for a AIO with all these features is the bargain of the century.

Incidently one of the v525w is a no goer, do you think I should test out my theory and ring support?!

        • Do it mate, who cares, the worst they can say is no we refuse to repair this…

  • Just rec'd my V525, wondering if I'll receive any more. It seems like just about everyone has received more than one.

  • Just received another V525w today…..

  • I got this. I don't know why DELL has sent many printers to customers except me!!

  • Someone who got 2 printers probably got my one :P

    My status still says:
    Dell(TM) V515W Red(TM) All-in-One Printer( Wireless N)
    Work in Progress
    Estimated Delivery Date 17/07/2012

I'll give them a call today.

    • … same situation to me !!! What DELL's ordering system %$#@#$%^&^% … someone here at OzBargin have already got 2nd or 3rd printer. I only got some false hope in their "Order Status" system???

I'm living in Adelaide… is there anyone in Adelaide already got the printer??? please share some info.

… called to Dell you will only got same answer (repeat and repeat again) - says only can do is waiting for 4 WEEKS —-What the 4 weeks it's already been more than ONE month since the ordering … helpless those service agent there (some where in south east part of globe).

  • I got two printers too!

I got one 515w about 1-2days ago and today I received a 525w without warning!

  • +6

I'm pretty sure I can trump all of you!
    I received 2 V515Ws about 10 days ago. Last Friday I received 2 V525Ws as well!
Four printers for $9! That's what I call a bargain.

I called Dell and owned up though. They told me I could keep a V525W and they would collect the rest. They are still sitting here though.

    • +1

What are these Dell people smoking?

    • LOLLZZZ. Order a top of the line laptop and see how many they send?? :-)

    • Well, I was called yesterday about a courier coming to get the extras. Today the courier came but would only take 2 back! So I still have 2 V525Ws.

  • +2

Guys, I think Dell is testing us.

If we give back the printers, they'll upgrade it to a v725W ;) lol

  • I think they just messed up the orders, sent to wrong address… All of those who got 2 or 3 extra printers probably should be someone else instead.

  • Why do I always miss out on really good deals :(

  • STILL haven't received anything in Brisbane..

I was one of the first to order and call about the upgrade.

  • did the original V313 printer have an ethernet port?

  • I've just received a 2nd printer. I got a V515W Red initially, and now I've got a V525W.

I don't think it is related to geographical area. My father who lives a few streets from me also ordered a printer within 20 minutes of my order. So far I've received 2 printers, and he hasn't received his first yet (even though he supposedly had a V515W arriving last Friday).

  • put your order number into the star track express website, you should see if delivery is underway.
select reference number and then enter your order number.
use the latest order number, should be different to the initial order number for the v313

    • I have checked it a bunch of times and nothing for me on startrack.

Crazy how people are getting 2,3,4 printers and some of us have received nothing.

Maybe they are trying to piss me off for calling 1 to many times :/

  • anyone noticed you cant actually buy any printer except the V725w?

we must have cleared the warehouse….

  • -1

    Thanks for the 2nd printer.
    this brings it to $4.50

when do i get my third?

  • Received my second printer, a v525w. Haven't used it yet but so far I prefer it over the v515w. Not as bulky and looks sexier with white sides, versus the v515w being all black.
Should I ring Dell to get them to come pick up the 515 or should I just wait for them to contact me? I don't really have the room for 2 printers, but worried if I give one away Dell will charge me for it.

  • Received my V525W today. Works well enough I guess & was simple to set up. Thanks

  • +6

Just received my third shipment of printers 2x515, 2x525, 2x525. They told me they were supposed to come and pick-up the extras not deliver more. I'm totally confused. The Dell ordering system is beyond me. Looks I'm gonna give them away if they don't come get them soon or I'll need to get a bigger garage.

    • +4

      This is all so funny.
This deal would have to go down in the history of OZB as a classic for sure!!
I feel like calling and complaining because I only received one! :-(

      • +1

i'd give you one of mine but i reckon the shipping would cost at least forty odd bucks or more to send an item this size

  • contacted them via email about 3 weeks ago and haven't got anything yet. Maybe mine is delivered to somebody else:(((

  • +1

Has anyone in Canberra received anything at all?

First time rang them to upgrade, all good.

Second time, the support guy kept refering to the email that says 4 weeks, I was asking for any update, refer to email, any update refer to email, frustated hung up phone.

Third time, support has sent an email to backend (which is totally non-functional) to update the status, 1 week later still nothing.

On another note how is Dell reducing the carbon foot print by doing such messy delivery work. Sorry but carbon is all Canberra is worried about at the moment.

  • +1

I received my 525w a few days ago, couldn't be happier:)

    • -1

      6 negs only?

Come on guys, I know you can do better!

  • Got my printer (V525w) today. I had called them twice since placing the original order. Never received any emails/calls though with any updates (they said I would get an email, none came) so hang in there if you haven't received yours yet.

  • got two v525w delivered today.

anyone wondering about there order status give the following email a message
[email protected] state your order number ask for the progress of the order.

Kenny should give you either the option to upgrade, or give you the new order number. mine changed from the original order number and doesnt show up in the order history on my dell account.

    • +9

      Poor Kenny.

  • Still have not received mine :(

  • -6

    Cost $9 for Dell v313
    Sent Dell 515
    Sent Dell 525
    Sell Dell 515 for $50
    =Profit $41 and a free printer!

    • -3

I dont get why this is bad. They sent 2 printers, why would i keep the second printer if I don't need it?

      • +1

Because there still seems to be many people that have not even received their first printers. Fair enough if Dell want to send seconds and thirds, but not at the expense of people that haven't even received their first order.

  • i got the wireless printer!
    DELL V313W

  • I just received a v525w, pretty happy!
Wondering if I'll receive a surprise second one!

  • +1

Seems to be a royal balls up at Dell. Still nothing since the 5/7, order not showing on the Dell site. Called Dell today and it seems my order was dispatched to a totally different person.

  • +20

    Hello Everyone,
Holland@Dell here. Seems to be alot of confusion around this and hoped to clear some of that up.

Long story short: We oversold the v313 by quite a bit. A considerable amount actually, it was oversold before it even hit OZbargain. A Printer/Scanner for $9? I wish I'd been told about it.

Not only did we not have enough v313 printers in Australia. Only solution was to upgrade each order for the same cost to make sure we honored our commitments. The problem here was that we didn't have enough stock of the v313w or the v515 to supply each of you with your orders so we kept having to goupgrade. That's why some of you received what you ordered; the v313, some the v313w,etc,etc.

We sent emails to every custoemr that supplied one with their order and phoned the customers that didn't supply email addresses to let them know the issue and give them the option; refund or replacement. This also advised them of the 4 week delay that it would take to get them the alternative printer for the majority. We were able to use local stock to honor as many as possible and we have, that explains why some of you are still waiting and some have received printer(s).

If you haven't received any notice at all about your order, please send an email to [email protected] with your name, address, order number and contact information. If you've already been contacted, thanks for the patience, we're trying to do what's right for the customer however there is a delay. If you ordered, paid, you will be receiving a printer it just might take another week or so to get to you.

The double deliveries… lets just say it was a clerical error at this point. If someone received two, that does not mean that they received the printer that someone else ordered. There is no reason to raze and pillage to reclaim what is rightfully yours we'll be getting you your printer as soon as possible.

Thanks for the interest everybody and appreciate the patience.
    Cheers,
    Holland@Dell

    • Thanks, after emailing that address I got my printer in about 2 weeks. I ended up having 3 orders on my account but only actually received one.

      • +1

I'd never bought from Dell before and am very happy at the service. Good communication and excellent delivery communication (I got an SMS to choose a time).

        • +2

Thanks for the positive feedback. This has been a challenge so it's great to hear positive experiences.

  • +1

My two V525W printers arrived today.
    Me very happy.

  • I'd completely forgotten that I'd ordered one of these, lol. Emailed them today, got the 2 options. Option 1 it is.

    • +2

If a $9 printer is something that you forgot about so quickly, I don't think any bargain on here is worth remembering for you lol

      • I've been too occupied with other bargains I've been buying via OzB, lol.

    • I received two printers…v515w and v525w…great printers !!

  • I got my printer yesterday!!! V525W, now trying to find the right cartridges for this.
Cheers Dell for honouring the deal!

    • +2

      Hey Mate.

http://accessories.ap.dell.com/sna/suppliesselector.aspx?ste… is the link to Dell.com.au ink for the v525.

      Cheers,
      Holland@Dell

      • Well, little bit expensive but still thanks!

      • Holland, I have been waiting 5 weeks for my v715w. Can you tell me what the hell is going on?

        • lol might wait another 10 weeks before they clear out v525w then start dispatch v715w :)

        • Hello Kiwipride,
Have you dropped an email to [email protected] to find out what the status of your order is? We had a similar issue with the v715 being oversold with a similar solution offered, however with similar delays. I'm getting emails on batch delays being released every 3 days or so on either the v715 or v725. If you send the Care team an email and use my name with your order number, you'll be responded to pretty quickly I imagine. Just ask for a heads up on where your order is and if you don't get any love I'll jump in.

          Cheers,
          Holland@Dell

        • Hey Holland,

Sounds like the team are busy! I emailed last week and have been in email contact with Sher Rin. He/She is apparently waiting on the production team for a new set of order numbers. It's been about a week just for that - is that normal?

          Cheers,
          David.

        • Hello Davechan,
We had to ship in an extremely large shipment from Singapore so there was a delay in delivery, to answer your question, yes… it's normal for this sale.

If you don't get any love in the next week let me know and I'll get an order number from you and push it through.

          Cheers,
          Holland@Dell

  • Received and set up my 525. Great multifunction for $9 even if I only receieved 1!

  • Finally got my printer today. V525W :) Im happy! Gave it to my dad for his bday present haha. (I told him it only cost $9 also :P)

  • -3

Guys, I got my printers today (actually I ordered three of them), I didn't know that most of the bargainers received V525 or 515, until I check this post again.

So $9 for a wireless MFC, pretty good deal!

    • +3

it was one per person. Don't be so greedy!!!

      • -3

        And? whats your point exactly?

        • -3

Well, just want to share my experience, and thanks ozbargain.

        • +2

A greed grab at a bargain deprives others of getting one also.
          Not hard to figure.

      • -2

No no no, not greedy, actually my roommate and I ordered at the same time, so totally it's 3.

  • I got my V525W today as well. Dell is awesome.

  • i got one 525w today, and a follow up email from kenny to ask if it was received in 'good condition'. maybe if i dont reply i'll get another one.

of all the printer models that have been shipped, which is the best? i hope this one doesnt guzzle down cartridges like theres no tomorrow. otherwise off the the council recycling it goes!

    • Dell will recycle it for you, don't forget.

V313 is cheapest to maintain as it has generic cartridges available.
V525w has the most features, but individual and expensive ink system.

      • Isn't there a V525W Lexmark equivalent??

  • Ciss system for del v525w???

  • mine came in yesterday cant wait to fire it up just for the scanner

  • So where do we find cheap ink for the V525w?

    • +1

Nowhere. Just wait for another $9 deal lol

  • I luv dell

  • +1

Got a 525W… even does WPA/PSK2/AES enterprise security on the wireless, magic.

Off to the bank for a loan for replacement cartridges

  • Guys, what's the difference between the 515 and 525?? (apart from the numbering - just incase anyone wanted to be smart lol)

    • 525 supports duplex printing.
