  • Is this any good? Been looking for an electrical mower. About 200sqm of grass.

    • Depend on the thickness of the grass and the need for the trimmer. I've just switched from the Ozito trimmer to the Ryobi Brushless Line trimmer and it is so much better.

The Ozito goes through those trimmer blades, it was an absolute nightmare.

    • You may get lucky, but I was lucky to snag a Ferrex 2x20v electric mower for $299 (steel base) and this thing just shreds grass. Some Aldi's still have some left over from their September catalogue. Highly recommend.

      • Returned the Aldi petrol one and got the 2x20v steel base for $299.Good buy

      • Is that this one?

        • No, that one only has a 37cm width while the other one had a 47cm width and had a steel base.

    • 2.5ah batteries won't be able to make it through 200sqm lawn in one charge. You'd need 4ah batteries.

I absolutely hate that blade thing, completely useless for any edges/fences etc.

  • The 2/11 in the photo suggests someone jumped the gun a bit. I went to Edwardstown and the chap checked - they had 12 delivered that would be put out for the Monday morning stock fill, and other stores will have them in stock. No link yet so I can't get brownnoseie points:-(

That's the price they have on the trimmer. If my yard was bigger than a postage stamp I'd still go for the Ryobi, however the man readily offered the 5 year warranty " for when you need it" :'-) info without prompting.

  • Is this the same as this? https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-2-x-18v-cordless-teles…

If so, seems like a good value. Combine this with https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/733501 and you got yourself a full set at 1/2 the price of Ryobi. Am I missing something?

  • The steel deck is also out now, but price is up to $465

    • The steel deck mower is so much better than the (plastic) one in this deal. However, it has not been in stock for many months - at least 6-9.

      • No, it's out now, it was next to this deal at Vermont Bunnings.

        • I think this is the steel deck one now on sale at Bunnings as a promotional item. https://ozito.com.au/products/pxc-2-x-18v-self-propelled-bru…

The boxes can't be opened so you can't inspect important features like handle height and whether it has a soft or hard catcher. Does anyone have experience with this one?

          • @Ponsonby: Did you see them in store now? The Bunnings website claims to have no stock at any stores close to me.

            • @prashmohan: Today 4 Nov there were lots on sale at Tuggeranong ACT and yesterday at Fyshwick ACT. The boxes were sealed but on close inspection the illustration on the box seems to show a soft catcher. The soft catchers for the other models on display were very flimsy - looked like a plastic top, a thin wire frame and the side and bottom were of material like shade cloth. Without extremely careful handling, they looked like they would have s lifetime of weeks at best. Very interested to hear from people who have used them,

  • Do people store these electric mowers in your shed or garage. Not sure about storing an electric motor in a hot shed but definitely wouldn't want the mower in garage either.

I don't know what brand but a neighbor had his electric mower battery on charge in the garage and lost two cars and half the house.
My PXC tools are in the shed but the batteries are in the house where it is cooler and there are smoke alarms.
I never leave any lithium battery on charge unattended.

      • I would use an extension lead and charge out back on paving if i had electric mower. I like petrol mowers though.

Maybe go electric if i only had house with tiny patch of grass in many years to come. Probably when inflation hits 50% and houses are size of barbie play house.

Definitely not storing nor charging the batteries in the hot shed. My Ryobi 36V brushless mower been in the shed for years and no issue.

  • Cannot find them in NSW stores I went to unfortunately. Hope they can bring this to Sydney too.

  • Bought one of these packs back in march. Mower works well enough, atleast for my needs. Batteries that come with it are ok but if you have more than about 170m2, its gonna have to be over 2 charges. Folds down pretty compact for storage.

Trimmer is nothing special. Blades regularly flew off so always had to keep spares on me when using. Rarely use it now after buying a whipper snipper

I bought this today from Scoresby (VIC) Bunnings and it works. Quite heavy really and was a bit hard to manage but that's probably my lawn which was badly overgrown. I mowed the lawn about 100sqm on the highest setting and will do some more each day when it's not raining and then repeat on a lower setting. I filled a 75 litre plastic bin full of clippings on one charge.

I think I prefer the lawn trimmer but it leaves a pile of grass which then needs raking up. The lawn trimmer is terrible at the edges if you hit the fence the plastic blade snaps and you need another one. The plastic blade also gets caught up in the long grass runners, gets pulled off and thrown across the garden never to be seen again.

Saying all that it's not too bad. Not excellent but not bad either.

  • Anyone in Sydney willing to sell the Aldi steel decked one in case you haven't opened it yet? Willing to pay more than the clearance price

  • Does this have a 'regular'price or only used for promotions?

  • Anyone know how to check another store have it? Thanks

  • Normal price $255

6 at Bunnings West Gosford. (Not on special).

    Code is: IN 0296589

Maybe ring around your local Bunnings and quote the IN.

  • Trying to do a comparison of the Ozito mowers and this bundle looks like good value. From what I can see you are able to get 36v of power, use your existing 4ah batteries and it has the same number of cutting heights as the more expensive models.

  • Anyone have any thoughts on how this compares to the Aldi one for $249 with 2 x batteries?
