    • Makes sense because TCN cards operate on the Eftpos network and you can't use Eftpos online.

      • +1

they just said it can be converted using HOME but not TEEN

and i've converted GIFT to online ebay gift cards they were good

    • I checked on www.card.gift/home but it says in store only for JB HiFi. Did you convert it in store or online?

    • you can still use TCN Teen unlimited in store right?

  • these have to be used in-store only? how about ASOS?

  • Stocking up on these: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/737122 so i can get my OzBargain Platinum membership

    • Only a measly 10x points per $, unless I am missing something?

      • About 3% saving is still better than most banks. Then use it for this deal :D

      • Combine some Coles Prepaids with bonus if you still have.

  • Nothing says "Love" than buying something from Cotton-On

  • Does the TCN Home work for The Good Guys Commercial?

  • Oh god, these again. Good luck to everyone that bothers. I'm going to sit this one out.

    • Every time there is a deal on gift cards they seem to disappear quickly. Even the ultimate cards at big w got cleaned out yesterday.

      • Staff hide them. Just send a complaint to management.

      • That might depend on the store. I was at my local Big W today and there was still a fair amount of each card in stock.

  • I am sure those who got the discounted Master card will be rushing to stack the discount.

Damn I didn't buy any. Friend told me this is on every year😭😭

  • +1

how does this work? never bought one of these before. Do you go to Coles to buy one and get 15% off the card (so if you buy $100 you get $15 off)? Or do you purchase online and it is sent to you?

If they are at coles are in the aisles or do you need to ask at counter for "tcn home gift card"?

    Thanks in advance

    • +1

      Yes

    • +1

Have to go to store to buy. Just pay $85 for $100 denomination. I went to the service counter and asked for the gift cards last time since cannot find any on the shelf.

  • Perfect for the 48inch C2 JB has for Black Friday

    • 42"?

      • @JL1 - Ah yes, the 42". Which actually works out better for my office.

        • I am tempted to use it as my monitor, but already have 2 monitors! If I had space would get extra 27" for 3 monitor racing setup, lol.

  • +3

    Ha from Vooks:

JB Hi-Fi has a Black Friday sale, it’s kicking off on Tuesday, November 22nd. Because the sale is not yet live we’ve got no live links just yet. Someone how ever has leaked the catalogue on OzBargain – which is always nice.

They linked my deal! HA! I'm famous! Look Mum.

  • So it includes $100 denomination cards as well?

Sorry couldn't find it in the post or in comments.

  • So, could we theoretically price match MacBook Pro 14" to office works sale, then use GC at 15% off?

    Would bring down to $2156.45

    Pretty awesome deal I rekon.

    • Looking at something similar. Very excited

      • I only kind of wish there was as good of a saving on a M2 Air. I want the portability of the Air more than I need any extra power/features of the Pro. But I would be upgrading the Air to 16gb and 512gb anyhow - which works out to be more expensive (even at education pricing = $2319) than this Pro deal @ $2156.

Makes this impossible to turn down.

        • Is Officeworks doing special on the 14 pro? Care to share a link?
          Thanks

          Edit: nvm found it 👍

    • Yeah would be awesome, depending on if you could get enough of these cards to cover the $2500. Would need 50 x $50 TCN cards.

      • Hahha. Yes.

        Look for $100 denominations

        • I'm not sure if they are included in this deal, at least the catalogue only shows $50 ones, unless someone can verify? Even at $100 that's 25x$100 cards, still pretty difficult haha

    • +1

I think you will be quite short for time on that attempt.

Firstly there is a 5x giftcard limit per customer, so that maximum you can get at once will be $500 worth. But even if nobody checks you have to find available $100 giftcards in the store first, which might not be that easy. I think you will be fortunate to get 5x $100 giftcards. But you never know.

So let's say you are really fortunate and find 10x $100 giftcards and nobody stops you from buying all of them at the checkout, that's still only $1000 not even half way there to your Macbook Pro so you won't be able to get the full 15% off the total amount.

You have to do all this before you head to officeworks where you depend on the place you are pricematching to still have the same price advertised when you get there to pricematch. If not you won't get the pricematch and you might be short on giftcard value because of the normal price.

Kind of a tight squeeze in my opinion, not as easy as buying something cheaper and that you aren't pricematching.

  • Noooooooooo after I spent my lifes savings on the 10% cards 😵

    • +1

Rubbish. You will get your family to hoard the cards like you did for previous discounts. Will leave nothing for everyone else!

      • You know me too well. In 5 days I would of used all my 10% cards anyway. I'm bringing out the big guns for this one, calling out the extended family to help me empty every Coles in the state. Good luck to you.

        • Nah I'm good, I come from a big capital city unlike you

  • Tried to get enough gift cards last year from Coles for an Oled tv. Was driving all over Sydney looking. Pretty impossible.

  • Can anyone actually answer if it is also for the $100 in those listed above?

  • Just a word of warning as per last promo, TCN do block cards from WW so don't even think about what you plan on doing if you understand this comment.

    • I don’t understand this comment. Can you elaborate?

      • If you don't understand then it means this doesn't apply to you so you can just ignore it.

        • -1

What if I was planning to do that thing but didn’t know you meant that

          • +2

@Brakus: Can only imagine he's saying don't steal them from WW and then checkout at Coles to get the 15% off.

        • +1

          @samehada
What a dumb answer. Just twll us what the deal is behind your first post.

      Weight Watchers

    • Steal unactivated cards from a Woolies and then take them through Coles checkout for activation?

      • Oh. Is that what people do? How dumb.

        • No idea, I was just guessing what they were talking about. I presume from the downvotes that's wrong?

    • I forgot to hide some last week. Was planning to try this, so thanks saving my effort lol

  • how to check the transaction history? I can only check the balance but I need details. Is it only viewable via APP?

  • thanks for the reminder, I'm still holding 800 bucks from last year's 15%. JB and good guys are good , but I always found the products cheaper somewhere else🥲

    • +3

You can ask JB to price match and then pay with GC

      • Thats what I do.

    • That's what I exactly feel sometimes!

  • I'm a bit confused, does this include Coles gift cards?

    • no, just these named TCN gift cards shown in the pic, at this stage we are unsure if it is all denominations or only the $50 (due to the wording)…guess we will find out on Wed

  • I bought some last year, anyone knows the expire date for theses? 2 years or 3 years ?

    • 3 years.

      • thanks, so still have a time, waiting dji mini 3 deal etc

        • +1

World war 4 come and gone and you still waiting hehhehehe

    What is the choice card.

Just had a look at Coles. There are cards that say things like champ, friend and such. I think these are the choice cards where you pick the word on the front. All these are the "gift" gift card.

    • The TCN Choice have the following retailers
Rebel, BCF, Platypus, HYPE, Calvin Klein, Baby Bunting, Adore Beauty, Adairs, MacPac, Decjuba, Sheridan, Sportsgirl, Universal Store, Princess Polly, Booktopia, SuperCheap Auto, and more…
I’ve only took a single photo on that card, and seems more retailers are available underneath the cover.

      • Can you share the photo here? And does it say choice on it?

Now I'm thinking maybe they are the epftos cards that can only be used within a category of retailers such as movies, pub and bar, restaurants and salons. https://choice.gift/

        • That’s the TCN Choice card, which currently available only at Coles.

If I remembered correctly, this one is still an eftpos card so far.

          • @shinjiman: Thanks, was wondering what the TCN Choice was.

I didn't include it in the table, as I couldn't find any info online.

            • +1

@RichardL: Using the info from the photo I found a post the card network made in LinkedIn which pointed to this website https://choicecard.gift/

              • @Applause: Thanks, I forwarded the information to Wookie Monster, so they can update the Gift Card FAQs.

          • @shinjiman: Thanks for sharing!

  • -1

max denomination is $100 and 5 card per customer. max savings is $75. Good deal for small items, but not enough for a mobile or Mac

    • +3

what if you don't scan your flybuys, who knows how many cards do you buy every day right

    • How much discount is enough for a mobile or Mac?

      • 15%off is good enough for Mac. But it's lots of hassle to buy 2k gift card, considering limit of 5 per customer. May have to visit Coles many times.

    • How do they track limit per customer?

      • +1

Staff will stop you when checking out, unless you visit multiple times to make separate transactions.

        • Thats exactly what people will do.

        • Bring your whole extended family for the card hunt.

  • So just to confirm, it is a massive pain in the ass if you want to use a Teen or Ultimate gift card to buy something at JB HiFi for $1000 because:

    1) you’ll need 10x $100 gift cards -> max limit per person is usually 5.
    2) can only use in store and not online
    3) these are eftpos cards, so you’d need to buy JB gift cards to do so.
4$ Which is technically against the t&cs and likely declined by JB

Correct? Just wanted to make sure there’s no easy solution come Tuesday sales at JB.

    • Not really, just activate them beforehand, scratch the 4 number pin and you'll have no issues. Last time, I used I think it was about 25 cards to purchase my 65" CX at JB Bondi Junction.
They happily put all the cards through, the manager actually thanked me for coming prepared, having activated the cards and scratching the pin.

      • +1

What do you mean activate the cards? I thought these are automatically activated at checkout upon payment?

        • +1

I think he meant getting ready for this each card by scratching the pin, removing the package so every each of them are ready for the transaction. As you know it will take sometime to swipe for 25 gcs

  • 15% is pretty awesome, I mean sure TVS can sell out online but it's rare that washing machines, fridges and other stuff sells out in-store.

Massive saving when you're dropping 4-5k on a fridge.

Unless as mentioned l, they've put limits now.

People are probably hiding the cards like they were with the MasterCards.

    • Is there any limit now at JBhifi? AFAIK no limit, wookie mentioned so many times that there is no limit

  • Haven't bought these cards before so can I please ask if I can use these TCN cards to purchase JB gift cards? Thinking to buy OPPO X5 Pro, or can I just use TCN cards for payment straight away? Thanks for any tips!

    • You can just use the TCN cards to buy instore at jbhifi, no need to convert

      • +2

at first I don't understand why people need to do this….

Most people just want JB gif cards and they worry that the gift card company will take out JB from the card or fold up all together. So they are trying to convert their card ASAP to be safe.

  • If I buy the Home, can I convert it to the good guy GC and use it online too?

    • +4

The only way you can currently redeem a TCN HOME gift card from this deal at The Good Guys is by redeeming it instore. There is no way for you to redeem a TCN gift card from this deal on the TGG website, and you currently cannot exchange it for a digital TGG gift card through the TCN website. The exchange was an option earlier this year, and I suspect it will be back some time in December.

Keep in mind that you can only redeem a maximum of 2 TGG gift cards on the TGG website (and you cannot redeem any TGG gift cards on the TGG Commercial website).

  • usually no stock and Coles Staff would just hide them or already stockpile them for their mates. Same as Big W

    • It's time we complain to the managers.

      • +1

Don't think they care. They are probably doing so themselves

      • +1

Based on "your gut feeling" evidence?

        • +2

Only way you can prove this is go into the store the night before they are closing and see if there is plenty. If so take a picture then go back right in the morning. If they are all gone then the store or someone in the store has hidden them. Then there is very strong ground to complain. This can be potentially current affairs head line🤔🤔

  • anyone converting to Apple GC then using it for Apple black Friday? - Massive savings this way

    • Apple do not always have good savings.

Maybe apple education store may have good deals.

    • What is the deal??

  • -2

How about going in the day before, selecting what you want and hiding them under something else in store???!!!

I am kinda joking but has anyone tried this???

  • +1

    hard to get

  • +1

So if i buy $1500 worth of gift card before the 15% savings, and use the $1500 gift card to go and buy an iPhone 14 Pro Max, it is ok?

    • I can't see why not
