      • Nah no Home cards at all

Yes the $100 is part of the discount.

        • Do we know if these are restocked daily?

  • Do they all have access to the respective retailers listed here and on the website or only whats listed on the packaging itself? Saw a few $100 Home available but there's a lot less stores on some packaging eg. no Supercheap..

    • +2

All physical TCN HOME gift cards work at the participating retailers listed on the TCN website. The data in the OzBargain deal description is scraped directly from the TCN website (and I know that, because I scrape the data myself for OzBargain). Btw, it says this in clause 2 of the TCN gift card terms and conditions:

This Card is an eftpos prepaid gift card that can be used for electronic transactions, to purchase goods and services at participating retailers listed on The Card Network website.

Supercheap Auto is a very recently addition to the TCN gift card scheme; it was only added at the start of October 2022. I would be surprised to see any physical TCN HOME gift cards already featuring Supercheap Auto on the front of the packaging, because it usually takes a few months from the time a physical TCN HOME gift card is manufactured to it being sent to Coles for sale.

(Btw, make sure you do not confuse the TCN HOME gift card with the Ultimate Home gift card. They’re two different cards from two different gift card schemes.)

  • how often do they do these 15% off on gift cards? is it only on BF or will there be another chance again during boxing day sale?

    • +3

Historically, TCN run a 15% off promotion on some of the TCN gift cards at Coles once a year to coincide with Black Friday. I have never seen a discount for TCN gift cards higher than 10% at other retailers.

Ultimate gift cards were 15% off at Coles in early December last year, so there is a chance that Coles will re-run the same deal in a couple of weeks.

The "standard" discount is 10% off for both TCN and Ultimate gift cards, so it is unusual to have 15% off deals for TCN (and Ultimate) gift cards, especially on TCN or Ultimate gift cards featuring JB Hi-Fi or The Good Guys.

      • +1

They've ran 20% before but that was given in the form of flybuys points and I think was max 5 per account.

        • The best one was ~33.33% (or higher if you are at expert level) it was long long time ago.

          • @samehada:

~33.33% (or higher if you are at expert level)

Using a discounted gift card. But those loopholes have been closed by now.

  • +4

This promotion is kind of joke really. No store has any cards within one day and they don't seem to get restocked!

    • +1

same, visited 3 stores, none of HOME.
plenty of useless him her active…

    • Not to mention Coles staff uses this opportunity to treat you like sh*t.

I heard one staff tell customers that "under 18s are not allowed to buy gift cards". Like wtf?!

      • They just make stuff up so many examples on these threads.

    • +1

Coles staff said reps restock and/or Coles do not order themselves but when stock runs low auto orders happen and rock up without notice

    • There are a lot of SA stores with the SHOP, LOVE and CHOICE cards.

    • Either the first couple of people instore at store open hoard them or the workers hoard them. Take your pick.

  • Hi guys. I know this would have been asked before, however just to confirm, can i buy the TCN gc using coles gc ?

    • I used Coles GC bought on Macquarie Marketplace to pay for TCN gc in this deal. Just chose pay with giftcards & scan Coles giftcard at checkout.

      • same

      • I thought you couldn’t purchase a gift card with a gift card

        • That is the policy but the POS allows it.

          • @Yola: What method of payments we choose at the checkout?
            Thanks

            • @Ozpe1903: If you have the red Coles GC you choose gift card, if you have the Coles Myer GC choose Card. If you are using selfcheck out the GC must cover total purchase.

      • Is this an e gift card for coles ?

  • I am looking to use at supercheap auto so the only one i can use is the TCN Home? This one seems to be sold out everywhere :(

    • +1

TCN Choice also features Supercheap Auto, and that is also on sale

I haven't seen it stocked at any Coles stores around me, as it is a very new TCN gift card, so i cannot guarantee you will be able to find it. I guess the upshot is that it doesn't feature JB Hi-Fi or The Good Guys, so it won't be as popular…

      • all of the COLES stores in the WESTERN suburbs of Adelaide have the CHOICE cards and heaps of them. They look different to the others and the fold is also different. They also only come in $50 denomination. I think people have bypassed that card as it looks completely different than all the other TCN cards

    • +1

I managed to find choice last night and used it at supercheap today

  • I thought TCN had The Iconic? Can’t see it on the list, or maybe it was only Ultimate GC

  • Anyone managed to find $100 kids or home cards? i could not find any in West Melb, and only found few $50

    • Just came back from my local and it was all wiped clean

      • -1

        Yeah same here in NSW

  • Is there any left in Sydney?????

    • None whatsoever from what I could figure out!

    • Nah I checked Coles North Sydney and World Square yesterday and no Home cards at all.

Doesn't seem like they'll restock either.

  • Any home/kids/teen around south east Melbourne?

  • Anyone know if coles actually restock their shelves over the week for these gift cards? Highly doubt it though

    • My local coles in south Canberra did. Yesterday morning had nothing, but mid afternoon the racks were full again.

    • ask them to check there reserve while you are there. All of the cards are kept in the cabinet behind the card stand and i have managed to find loads when i ask a staff member to look

      • They ever bitchy about having to do that?

        • GC sales seem to bring out the worst in some of them.

          • @Yola: I wonder if Colesworth staff are subsidising the discount hence the pettiness of some of them.

Yesterday, I was told by a Woolies staff that since I got some GC the day before, I can only have $2k today. I was like where does it say that on the promo chart/rule book/website?

            • @t25: I had no luck with finding TCN cards at coles, so opted to go woolies for 10% off ultimate cards. The last store I visited had none on the shelves, however I saw 3 boxes on the floor infront of the card stand labelled as REPLENISHMENT STOCK, so I asked employees to check if they had any left in those boxes. The girls were being really helpful and were more than happy to open up the boxes to check and there were a few stacks of the $100 Ultimate cards in there. Asked them whats the max they can sell to me, they said they're unsure but can put through separate transactions if we needed more. I was with my partner so we both got 5 cards each, didn't need any more than that. It really depends on who you speak to, but its usually the younger staff that are willing to help.

              • @krsu: Yes, agree with this, especially on weekends I think it is only casuals so they do not feel they need to save the store money. Which of course is not how it works anyway.

            • @t25: It definitely seems like this, especially with older ladies at Coles.

  • Is there stock of any $100 Teens, Kids or Home gift cards in Melbourne at all? Been to a few and they're all out.

    • Yep. They don't seem to restock as quickly.

  • Has anyone confirmed the Active (etc) cards actually DON'T work at JB Hi-fi?

    • How/why would they work if it’s not listed there

    • i would like to know the same

    • i phoned TCN and they advised me to check the TCN website for participating retailers for each card (all are different/specific to that card) and they also said the retailers can change over time

  • +1

I went early on Wednesday morning to pick up some $100 Home cards - they were cleared out by the time I left. Just went back earlier today and they had seemingly restocked. Picked up another five.

    • Where?

    • Keen to know where it is available in Sydney?

      • Chipping Norton, there were still $50 Home cards when I went.

  • i purchased $2k in KIDS/TEENS/HOME today, mostly $50 and a couple of $100 cards found. No shop let me purchase more than 5 so i had to go to a few different coles to find them. I also found that most stores said they were sold out although I found some stores had stashes in the secret compartment/door behind the gift card stand. I had to be firm with staff and ask them to check their reserve and when i did we found more. winner winner

    • Is it in Sydney? which store/s did you go to?

      • SA

        • Where?

      • I found some teen / kids $50 in narellan. They still have $30 left. I managed to get 3 home cards which were more useful. Wish i could get more. Try an affluent white suburb for better luck

  • I am stuck with a few teen cards as jb won't price match. Can we sell em on the classifieds?

    • sure, why not

    • Try do a pricematch online via chat, c&c and refund/repay via gc

    • Is there a reason they wouldn't price match? They say they do on the website. Was it from overseas store or something?

      • They keep saying its a bundle when dyson has included accessories which jb sells separately so they dont match price for bundles 🤦🏻‍♂️

  • +1

Was after Baby bunting ones.. I got the last 3x $50 Choice ones from Pennnant Hills, was hoping to get more. Checked out Hornsby later and they had everything but baby/choice :( Ended up getting the Good food ones as we have a family dinner next week, so 15% was a nice surprise.

    • +1

Asquith Coles has baby $50 ones if anyone is interested.

    • loads of CHOICE ones in SA

  • Kids $50, Kids $30 and Teen $30 at Melville/Bicton (WA)

I picked up $850 of home cards to use at the Weber Store. Went in today to buy a bbq and their machines wouldn't accept the cards. I ended up converting all the cards to Weber gift vouchers using the online tool, took them into the store and they were able to process them through. Weber store were great throughout the process and patient considering the time it took to validate all the vouchers once I converted them.

    • I picked up $1K of choice cards today and bought myself a new weber family today. No problem using them instore, also got a free carton of pirate life and delicious feed for lunch :)

      • Where did you even find that many

  • +3

Thanks OP, finally bought IPHONE 14 Pro at 15% off :)

  • While we're all visiting Coles' do they still put out the $250 Coles mastercard for people to buy without the discounts? I haven't seen any at any of the ones I been to looking for the ultimates.

    • Yep.

I went to one Coles this evening and they had around 50x $250 Coles Mastercard gift cards on the main gift card shelf and another 20x $250 Coles Mastercard gift cards on a temporary gift card stand near the entrance.

Used about 16 GC’s at JB HiFi today. I just wish we could swap it online for one big card/voucher. I’m stocked with another $3000 in $50 and $30 GC’s to buy an iPhone and iPad. Plan to purchase closer to Xmas for longer warranty since they are presents. Am not looking forward to going in store to swiping that many GC’s. It’s so tedious!

    • 3k in 30s and 50s? That must be close to the record number of gc to be used in a transaction on ozb!

      • +1

68, it could've been 84 if I had not spent the 16 yesterday. I think the record is 81. I'm so not looking forward to using these 68 in-store, the 16 was bad enough.

    • So you can buy gift cards with gift cards?

I thought retailers didnt allow this.

      • I’m not buying GC with GC. I’m buying things at JB with these GC.

  • -1

Quite a few left at cannon hill brisbane coles.

But im looking for $30 ones for gifts but discount not on the Her ones and no other 30s left. Just 50 and 100s of the others

  • +3

The promotion is meant to last 1 week not 1 day

    • I don’t even think some even lasted the first hour.

I went to a Coles at 8:05 and there was already a huge queue at the gift card stand. By 9am it was bare when I head to the other coles.

  • No luck in Melbourne so far… hit coles in Brunswick and Clayton, all gone.

    • Glenferrie, Victoria Gardens, Swan St all gone too

  • -1

Saw dozens of the $30 Kids ones at Woden ACT. Too much effort for mine given I'm after $550 worth for the Pixel 6a from JB.

  • I tried to use a card to buy something online at one of the listed retailers but got an error. Does this only work instore?

    • +1

you may have to convert them to the retailers gift voucher to use online. This can be done via The Card Network website by selecting the store you wish to use them at then follow the online instructions.

  • Can I use the cards in JB Hifi? I am confused if they are accepted or not.

    • +1

the KIDS, TEEN and HOME work at JBHI.

  • Random question but can I take one gift card from Woolworths to Coles. I assume no right?

    • i think there are place you can exchange them

  • so gift card is gift for ourselves?

  • Here's the stock levels at Cole's Forster if anyone is interested, as of 9pm Saturday night, minus the 9 X $50 Home cards + 1 $100 Home card hidden at the back we took.
