  • showing as $344x for the 16inch

wow, good price on the 16" 1TB

    • Is the 16in that much better than the 14in?
I'm interested in the 14 for its portablity.

Also…. does anyone know if there's a limit to how many Amazon cards you can buy from that Aldi -10% deal? Or how many cards they allow you to stack and use?

      Thanks in advance everyone :D

This just in, used product cheaper than brand new product

M2 chips for the 14 and 16 MBP shouldn't be too far away.

    • +1

Yeah so you can make money twice as fast.

    • +6

Speculated to be end of Q1 2023 and based on the price hike the latest iPad models got, will likely be a couple hundred more expensive. Definitely not happening this year as the product line up has already been finalised.

  • That much for only 16gb of ram?

    Tell him he's dreaming.

    • +7

I just woke up, maybe I should go back to sleep and dream of it

M1P’s aren’t the holy grail in mobile sector anymore and depending on workload one maybe better off with a Zephyrus G14 with 6900HS at a similar price point and form factor, as the latter averages 10% faster across benchmarks and comes with upgradability and compatibility that the Macs don’t get while retaining a good amount of battery life-LTT was amazed by it.

Performance comparison video done by Jarrod of the two chips

    • -1

I’d do it for the processing power it has in the creative arts space

      • +1

Just for Adobe stuff? Because adobe suite is the only thing that M1 Pro is doing better than the 6900HS now, with high end Intel 12th gen mobile handily beating M1 Pro in just about everything out there, of course you get no battery life to speak of and fan noise goes out the window. M1s are definitely the much nicer and more compact package but software side optimisation only goes so far before raw computational power pushes through it all.

        • Yeah just saw the video and agree with you. Surprised to see it still beating out in adobe and browser for a year old model. Didn’t realise about the rest and aes encryption but yeah mainly on adobe from the creative side. I’m just on the fence about getting another one again or a MacBook Air for business

          • @cerealsmok3r: Yeah apple worked quite the magic with them M1s, not sure if the same magic can work again with M3s. I reckon MBA is plenty enough just for business duties where the only thing you need is battery life no?

            • @Brrrrt: Only one external screen with mba ! Could be a blocker

    • -1

Try using both machines and report how you go. Despite some cinebench benchmarks being faster on the AMD/INTEL equivalent the actual responsiveness and performance in applications can be much better on the Mac. Of course this is especially true for and photo/video editing software. Check MaxTech on YouTube to see the difference in practice beyond benchmarks, the Mac is clearly superior

Also read the anadtech reviews to see how it compares across a whole suite of CPU performance metrics

    • Yeah that is a joke. Many reasons why they are and remain king, including ruining mac only stuff (xcode)

    • Do you beat it when you're spec whoring?

      • huh?

  • Hope this deal continue for few more days till BF?

  • What is the maximum number of gift cards you can add to amazon one transaction?

    • +3

Amazon gift cards works as wallet so no limits

  • +2

Assuming this last till Friday is there any chance Apple would match this and still give you the gift cards from the other deal? Or would they match less the gift cards?

    • +1

      I am dreaming too.

    • Do they price match online?

    • Never hea4rd of Apple pricematching!

      • +1

        will do up to 10%

  • +5

The 14" MBP for $2500 shows how much of a rip off the new M2 air macbook pricing is. The M2 16/512 config is 2600+. Should be $500 cheaper to have a reasonable value proposition as the MB pro is just a much better machine all round

    • Interesting, have a 2017 MBP and will likely upgrade in the next few years. Is the M1 Pro chip better than an M2?

      • +4

All of these are better on Macbook Pro 14 M1:
        - multi core CPU speed
        - GPU speed
        - SSD speed
        - sustained performance
        - external monitor support
        - screen
        - speakers
        - port selection

The 14 at the amazon price is a great deal. I'd get one if I didn't have the 16 already

      • +1

It depends on what you are doing, the M2 (non Pro) has slightly better single core performance, but the M1 Pro is better in all other respects such as multi core and machine learning applications.

    • +1

Custom configs don't get discounted like this deal. So a standard config MBP vs a custom config MBA isn't exactly a good comparison.

    • MB pro is just a much better machine all round

Except of the fact it is much bigger and heavier. Well, not that much as it may look from specs, but just go to the store and check in reality both of them…

      • +1

Yes that is the obvious advantage of the MB air, 400g lighter

        • +1

          And silent. No fan required.

Decent deals 🙂 but just want to mention:

    Apple MacBook Pro 14" (Space Grey) Apple M1 Pro 10 Core 16 Core 16GB 1TB $3,197

This was cheaper at $2,969 back in July. Source: family who bought from Amazon.

But that was back before inflation was a thing, so maybe these prices are ok?

    Hope this helps someone

    • +1

woops! my mistake, that $2,969 did not include a $400 voucher.
      - so total price back in July was $3,369
      - means this price is great 😊

      sorry for confusion!

CASHREWARDS 7% back!? Amazon has 7% back through CASHREWARDS.. is there a way to check to see if it’s a thing..

    • +2

I think MacBooks go under the Personal Computing category which has 0% cashback.

  • MBP M2 is just around the corner that's why they do discounts. But M1 is still more than enough for most tasks

    • March-April is the rumour.

  • Appears to be OOS

  • Does anyone think they’ll have more stock on weds?
