They always tell us supply chain issues, high inflation is only temporary due to covid.
But now the pandemic is over and Amazon decides to keep the discount low.
Missing the good old days. :(

@tightarse: This is the first time I've seen tightarse got negged hard

            These neggers are brutal

            • -1

@Poor Ass: People get angry because they don't get something for free. Pathetic attitude of modern society.

              • @vovka: @Poor Ass @vodka Still trying to work out what I said wrong that was deserving of the votes lol. Sometimes it's best to simply remain mute.

                • +1

@tightarse: Embrace the negs like I do… makes you feel so alive!

                  • @Poor Ass: Doesn't concern me at all - just bemused lol.

                    • +1

                      @tightarse: Negged for gaslighting mate

Something on the lines of that uncapped cash back never existed and they showed you the 2019 evidence to prove otherwise lol

                      • @Poor Ass: No, his comment stated that cashback used to be capped per transaction, not that it was uncapped. Anyway, so be it :)

        • They always tell us supply chain issues, high inflation is only temporary due to covid.

Which makes them completely full of shit, because in the last 2 years they've been setting record quarterly profits. Not revenues. Profits.

Amazon reported $14.3 billion USD in profit a few quarters back. Both revenue annd profit doubled from 2019-2021.

And before someone fires back at me about recent quarterly losses, yes, that's what you get to claim when you pour billions into investments. They still have that money, essentially, and it's likely to grow. They're just tucking it temporarily in someone else's pocket and crying poor.

    • That was Shopback I think

  • Is there any plan to expand the categories as has happened with previous Black Friday deals? A lot of 0% categories at the moment.

    • Do you mean for outside of this deal?

      This deal is ALL categories…

      • Lol my apologies, it was written in the title all along….

        • All good man, 0% categories can be frustrating!

  • +1

Argh.. I put hundreds through there a few minutes ago :(

    • +2

You only missed out on $20; not a massive loss.

  • +4

Does it apply for vouchers that you click on checkbox on item page (automatically applies at checkout)? e.g. 5% off at checkout style ones

It says excludes purchasing vouchers but I'm assuming that means gift vouchers/etc.

    • +1

Also curious about this- the way I'm reading it these will make the purchase ineligible for cash back.

      • Me too. Though the thing I want to get that has this is only $10 anyway so probably not risking the CR cashback for it.

  • Anyone know for the gift card promo if you cancel your order, do you lose the promo credit?

    • I wouldn’t cancel if you used a promo but not certain.

  • Lets goooo

  • +1

Thanks, cancelled an order I made about an hour ago and will re-order tomorrow afternoon :)

  • Awesome

    Posting to remember

    • +5

For future reference, there's a 'Reminder' button just underneath the post.

      • +4

Tough crowd. Next time I'll say "Thanks TA" or "Awesome" instead.

        • +2

Yeah, saw the negs, so figure I'd at least try to be helpful.

  • -4

Your move Shopback. Oh, wait, you're too busy not approving upsized cashbacks as per your normal approach, hoping that everyone forgets and you can keep the commission. Sorry, carry on.

    Thanks TA!

  • Will subscribe and save affect the eligibility on cashback?

    • TA goes to a lot of trouble each time putting all this sort of information in the terms and conditions at the top of the post:

Point number 5: "Cashback is ineligible on purchase of vouchers, gift cards, kindle unlimited, audible, mobile apps, recurring subscribe & save items (first order only is eligible), …"

      • Thanks :) Sorry, should've tried harder to read through the post.

    • If I had subscribe & save but cancelled a few months ago. Then resubscribe & save, does it mean it's not eligible?

      • +3

The Amazon listing on the CashRewards website states: "Cashback is eligible for … The first (new) Subscribe & Save order of a product in an eligible category. Subsequent orders are ineligible for cashback.". To me, that would mean if you subscribe to a product, later cancel and then resubscribe for the same product, that's not a "new" subscribe and save order as you had previously subscribed to that particular product.

Perhaps someone here has done this and can advise whether it works, but otherwise it's up to you if you want to risk it.

(FYI @TA in case you have any more info)

        • Used the wrong tag LOL, @tightarse

    • I agree, the wording is a bit clunky.

"Cashback is ineligible on purchase of… recurring subscribe & save items (first order only is eligible)"

So my assumption is that if I do a Subscribe and Save, cashback WILL apply to my first order, but won't in the succeeding recurring/subscription orders.

      • Yeah that's what it reads like to me.

How about products with different sizes. Say I've ordered Huggies Size 2 192 pack before using subscribe and save, would ordering Huggies Size 2 96 pack make me eligible for the cashback?

@tightarse are you able to confirm?

  • +1

Can we get an upsize Cashrewards on Apple ?

    Thanks

  • @tightarse, (sorry off-topic). any plan for boosted cashback for Apple store this time?

  • -3

In that 2 hours, there wont be anything attractive to buy.
Most people will be travelling. Also most groceries have 10% sub discounts.

    • All the good stuff will be gone first thing in the morning, then its just the lightening deals, which probably won't fall into the two hour block anyways..

Guess I can just stock up on some poo paper then…..

    • Won't the 10% sub discounts be eligible for cashback, for the first order? (and not the subsequent orders in Subscribe & Save)

  • @tightass nice deal with Amazon. Will CR be doing an increased cashback with The Athlete’s Foot for Black Friday?

    • it's @tightarse

  • Thanks TA. Cheers

  • +1

    Capped…bummer

  • -1

Guys any recommendation for Overear wireless headphones with a good mic?

  • Hope there is a good Switch deal!

  • Nice to see preorders are covered.

I have The Callisto Protocol game preordered for release next week. Tempted to order another (thus saving $12), then cancel the first order.

  • -2

Can we make this work with amazon.com US site also???

    • +1

Please read dot point 7 of the terms. Everything is there. Thanks.

      • -1

Thanks. I get that but what I want is on Amazon.com unfortunately and price * 3 on .au site

        • +1

Unfortunately that won't work. Amazon will only pay commission on sales driven via their AU site. Sorry :)

  • What's amazon promotion credit?

    • +1

credit that is promotional in nature.

    • +1

You receive an Amazon promo credit when you buy a gift card, eg from this Black Friday sale or when you ask for a compensation thru chat/call or when you join Prime and get a $10 credit

    • +1

Mysterious credit that's applied to your account but you can't actually see how much you have until you go to checkout with the right products.

Amazon offers it as a bonus with other purchases every now and again, or customer service might apply some when you complain.

      • +1

        right products

Products ship and sold by Amazon AU

  • Buy buy buy

  • +1

    I made it 666th like

  • Just purchased the Elgato LP boom mic yesterday 😭

    • didn't you know about Black Friday?

      • -1

It was on sale, but I hadn't really been banking on a decent cashback deal, guess I can just buy another to get the cashback then return the first order..

    • thankyou for your service

  • Thanks OP been waiting for this :)

  • Damn, just purchased most of what I needed yesterday, the other thing I need is oos on amazonn

  • Just finalised and paid in the morning…. missed it… also had GC from ALDI…. would have been a bonus… NW

  • Will amazons site handle the traffic?

    • +7

I think they may be running on AWS, at a guess.

  • Does it have to be sold by Amazon items or can it be third party sellers on Amazon (eg Scorptec and Computer Alliance) etc?

    • +2

Has to be sold by Amazon AU/UK, as stated by dot point 7.

      • +1

Thanks mate I read through the conditions tired eyes and missed it…been up since 4:30am this morning haha.

      • +2

That's not what dot point 7 says. Purchases from third party sellers should be eligible, nothing against it in the conditions.

      • +2

Are you sure? It reads to me like that's referring to which countries site is in use.

If third party sellers are excluded I would expect it to have been specifically mentioned.

      • Can't see anything against 3rd party sellers in the T&C. Hope @tightarse can confirm this.

  • Amazon Prime is giving me a decent discount on an item if I join. I've asked CR if that will invalidate this promotion but in case I don't hear back in time has anyone come across that issue previously? Thanks

    • +2

if the item that is going to be discounted requires a coupon/promo code, it will invalidate cashback
