Syfe $50 offer or $60 referral w/ $1000 deposit (takes 3 days) still active https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/751939

  • +1

My $50 was received straight away when sent via ubank NPP fast payment

    • Which account did you made a transfer? Glide or Bonus Saver?

      • I transferred directly to the bonus saver

  • Easy, thanks!

  • +1

Trouble is my drivers license: it says “Please enter your card number exactly as it appears on your license” well that’s what I’m doing…

    • +5

Did you use the correct font?

    • +1

I am stuck at that as well, my Vic licence doesn't have a card number but it's expecting one.

      • +1

Well I have one for SA but it doesn’t accept it. It’s ridiculous. I won’t even bother calling them. Wasted already enough time with this.

      • +6

It does - a tiny number on the back printed just below the giant date of expiry

      • +2

I thought that as well but it did on the back, towards top right and it's vertical it is tiny.

Had to take a picture and zoom in to read it.

      • you should get one. they have them now.

        • Do I have to pay for one, I got my current licence renewal only a year ago.

          • +1

@Jimbuscus: My card is even older than yours and it has it, yours should too
            It looks like this https://help.tab.com.au/servlet/rtaImage?eid=ka52y0000008Rso…

            • @wangasm: I had no idea that was there, I wonder why they added it on without using it until now.

              • +3

@Jimbuscus: To be fair, it's hardly visible and like dj2flood, I had to take a picture and zoom in to actualy read it when I filled out an application for something else that apparently needed it. It doesn't help that mine overlaps with the big birthdate numbers making it harder to make out the tiny print.

      • turns out "card number" is the state - I input Victoria and it was accepted

      • finally being hacked has paid off, thanks optus.

    • +1

There's two numbers. A license number, and a card number. I didn't even know this but some online verification now requires both.

If you're in Vic it's a number on the back starting with a letter.

  • +1

    First 2500 customers.

    Of course

  • +1

looks like someone finally turned on the Osko.

When I tried from StGeorge this morning it was denied and the account is now marked as only taking slow transfers in StGeorge's system/app.

Just gave a it a try from ING to see if things had changed and it processed on Osko instantly and is showing up in the MyState account…. though no doubt it was the 2501st account to get 50 through

    • I would demand a recount! Something something Australian Consumer Law

    • Nup doesn’t work for me yet, trying to transfer from ING too…

  • +5

Just signed up but my transfer was rejected from ubank to the bonus account, said invalid account number

    • +1

Same! I tried to send to the glide acc but also invalid. Now my new password that I set up is also invalid and I can’t log into the app. Not a great start…

  • Tried NAB and CBA to both accounts a number of times over a couple hours… No dice.

Scheduled a CBA transfer for tomorrow but not holding my breath.

    • Kate Winslet held her breath for over 7 minutes, but I wouldn’t try it for $50

  • +2

Too much hassle for (possibly) $50…

    • +20

At least 50% of OzBargainers would crawl over broken glass with their fly’s unzipped for $1. So this is much worse…

      • +1

        💕

  • this deal was posted the 29th, but it says by the 28th to open and deposit $50. it is already too late?

    • +1

      28 February 2023
So if you wait a month you'll realise there's no 29 of Feb and you'll be too late.

  • +1

Apparently have to wait a couple business days for the application to finish processing once submitted. Had no other issues along the way. Wife signed up without any problems. Anyone else stuck waiting?

  • +1

signed up and successfuly authenticated m ID. got an email saying my account is processing but no email follow up… how long is this meant to take?

    • I signed up 20 mins ago and was approved instantly (no processing email).

      • wierd

    • same here

  • +2

Says the recipient account details are incorrect when I try to transfer money ..

    • +8

I will PM you the correct account details

  • +1

    Your application is being processed….

Your new account is almost ready!

  • For those having issues transferring into the account due to some invalid PayID details, if your bank allows you to send to an account at a later date, select that and select 1-2 days in the future which should go through.

  • I tried transferring from my ANZ app earlier and it bounced back. Scheduled a transfer for tomorrow but tried again just now and it went straight into my saver account. Cancelled the scheduled transfer.

    • I tried numerous times (ING), no luck.

  • Is this the old State Bank reborn?

  • I'll combine this with my state bank account

  • Not good experience at all at starting, like most people here, failed to deposit, lost confidence if still can use it in future, I did same thing to open an account in virgin money last year, very smooth process, I guess the technology in traditionally company like my state bank is not as good as new comers.

    • It's just not a good bank to use compared to many other options like Up, I'm just after the $50.

  • Do they accept an identity card instead of a license?

    • Licence, passport or Medicare - need 2 out of 3.

  • +2

I have had this account for several years and it works fine. Usually, a competitive interest rate often higher than ubank, although not right now. It has OSKO and a $2,500 OSKO daily limit.

  • Scheduled transfer from ANZ still doesn't work today despite creating the account yesterday. Not impressive - will just close it.

    • takes a day for the account to accept money

  • All good for me today… both OSKO from ING and scheduled transfer from ANZ

    • Mine worked too. Have you received $50 bonus?

      • Nope. They say after 30days?

        • Their rep on the phone today said the first or second week after Feb.

  • Super easy considering I already have a loan with them and didn't have the Bonus Saver account.

  • +1

After 2 failed transfers I rang My State Bank. Was advised that as I opened the account yesterday, even though it advises that the account is open, it takes 24 - 48 hours to be fully open and subsequently accept transfers. I was asked to wait and try again tomorrow

  • -1

Osko is now working with St George but havenot received $50 bonus yet after $50 transferred successfully.

    • The first 2,500 eligible customers will receive a $50 bonus from MyState that will be deposited into their Bonus Saver Account within 15 days of the promotion end date.

      • +2

within 15 days of the promotion end date.

You forgot to highlight the last part which is probably going to be important too.
It runs until 28 February 2023, inclusive (Promotion Period) + 15 days. So on/before 15 March.

        • +3

My bad. Not as fluent as jv with bolding

  • +1

Hmmm… In my account according to android app… I cant see how to make any transactions ie to transfer out..
    Anybody know? :)

    • +3

Just called up. You need to wait 48 hours after opening the account before you can transfer out. Not the best experience so far.

They did confirm i am qualified for the $50 promotion however.

      • Ah thanks!

  • I was a long time ING customer and decided to go with MyState back in 2021 when ING introduced their extreme conditions for getting bonus interest rates. I did not mind their lower interest rates with the view I would be supporting an Aussie bank. Boy was I wrong.
They track all your spending like a proper commie state and the worst part was being unable to withdraw more than 10k from bonus saver without sending an email to head office for " approval ". The best part of that was you needed to give "a reason" why you wanted to withdraw your own money !! I missed out on closing a deal because I could not make immediate payment. Absolute bunch of c's to deal with. Back to ING with no ATM fee's, better rates and no hassle to withdraw any amount.

    • If you want least hassle banking, Macquarie has none of these minimum deposit/5 monthly transactions/savings balance must increase each month requirements.

Current interest rate 3.70% and that's for money in the everyday transaction account too, not just the savings account (though the savings account has a 4 month bonus after opening resulting in a rate of 4.5%).

They rebate all domestic ATM withdrawals and have no international transaction fees.

Apart from the lower ongoing interest rate, the other potential issue is lack of EFTPOS support so cannot withdraw cash at the super market, cannot get a direct Medicare reimbursement put on the card, and I think Auspost banking also isn't supported.

      • +1

        ubank better. 4.10%

        • It is… not hard to beat 3.7%. But ubank also doesn't rebate all domestic atm withdrawals. For anyone like me who mainly has third party ATMs in the area and frequents establishments that have surcharges on credit/debit card payments, fully rebated ATM withdrawals from ANY domestic ATM is a god send.

If one is chasing good interest rates, go Virgin Money which is 4.6%… automate a $2k deposit into then out of the Virgin account (or out then back in if that's easier) and also automate 5 bpay transactions per month (can be $1 each into the electricity bill or council rates) and that will sustain the higher interest rate. Much easier than ING.

          • @Mugsy: Its 4.30%.. 4.6% (extra 0.3) if you Provide 32 days’ advance notice to unlock your account or withdraw your money.. which IMO isnt worth doing unless those savings will never be touched for any reason usually rare as many people keep 10% in savings before paying rent or other bills which can generate interest in ubank while being able to keep those funds liquid.

  • Application still being processed since yesterday.

  • Initially I tried to send $50 via ING - invalid number. Tried via commbank which worked. Still no money has appeared and that was sent yesterday. I also had the same issues as those above with the licence number. I just removed the leading 0 from my drivers licence and used that as the card number and it went through!
edit: bah I just checked commbank and it has bounced back.
2nd edit: Just did again from ING and worked via Oska immediately. I think their accounts dont really get setup straight away upon creation. Probably has to run through some batch job

    • I sent by OSKO from ING yesterday and my balance is still nil…

      • I recon either wait and it'll bounce back or send another $50 and should appear if you created account yesterday. My transfer worked from ING just then!

        • mmm, i might send again

  • -1

Do I need to make 5 transactions to be eligible?

  • +4

I transferred money to Gilded account, now I can not transfer from Gilded to Saver account.
From Account field does not show any accounts, even Pay Anyone or BPAY does not show any of my account.

    https://ibb.co/PFMP5PN

    • +1

I think you have to wait 48hr

      • I wan to transfer between accounts.

      • i still cant transfer between accounts, have you had any luck?

        • I called them about this, apparently it was not linked properly and once they do this you can then transfer. Seems like bs to me why multiple people cannot make transfers until they call them to rectify it.

    • I wonder if it comes with a Gilded debit card? Probably just plated, I guess

  • MyState group may amend or withdraw this promotion at any time without notice.

Seeing the 3000+ clicks on the link, I have a feeling this might happen.

    • Not even close to the first 2500. For every click prob 30% actually bother signing up

  • Tried, let us see if it works,

  • Successfully transferred to it yesterday.

So looks like we're good to withdraw our initial $50…

And wait to 15 March for the bonus $50.

    Thanks OP!

  • Really bizarre experience on set up - got my BSB/Acc No as soon as I set up the account so naturally went to transfer in $50 from my BOQ account - noted that it said OSKO not available so payment will go through in a day or two (this was on a Fri or Sat). Got impatient and tried again on Saturday, from the same funding account at BOQ, and went through immediately as an NPP credit?! Original transfer has now also gone through, so my Bonus Saver is reflecting $100, which is good. Fingers crossed the $50 bonus comes through, as I don't really plan on using their Glide account.

  • Do you need to keep the $50 in there once transferred to get the other $50? I had assumed could be withdrawn straight away but just checking

    • -4

      No cheques

      • +3

        Wow… helpful. Not.

        • -2

Always a good assumption not to make assumptions. If you withdraw your $50, then they might think you are trying to scam them

  • +3

Posted today on their Facebook advertising:
We can confirm that the first 2,500 customers are yet to be reached at this point in time.

    • They might have to offer $100 to actually stir up some interest

    • Great stuff

  • If you have a session on mobile or desktop that goes idle, it seems your password no longer works.

Source: I just got a temporary password on the phone six hours ago and reset it so I know the damn thing.
