Got this on all of my many accounts so I'm pretty certain it's not targeted.

I would imagine that most of us here haven't ever redeemed a digital fuel docket at Shell Coles Express because any real OzBargainer has a helicopter for cheap fuel.

The real deal here $7.50 worth of Flybuys points per account for redeeming a free coffee. The coffee is the worst I've had so for my remaining accounts I'll be redeeming the offer at the cashier but just not making it.

To redeem a Digital Fuel Docket and collect 1,500 bonus points you'll need to:
1. Sign in or download the latest Flybuys app.
2. Spend $30 or more in one transaction at Coles.
3. Receive your Digital Fuel Docket in the Flybuys app under 'My fuel offers'.
4. Hit 'Activate' on your Digital Fuel Docket.
5. Next time you're at Shell Coles Express, scan your Flybuys card and choose to redeem your fuel offer OR the current in-store product offer (no fuel purchase required). It's that easy!

  • And what if I don’t want a digital docket? The household collects the paper version and then just take the one that expires the earliest whenever someone needs to fill up.

      For customers who qualify for the fuel discount docket, the fuel discount offer will continue to be printed on your Coles Supermarket paper receipt until the first time you activate the fuel docket digitally in your Flybuys app; at which point you will continue to receive your fuel docket in your Flybuys app. If you wish to change your preference from receiving the fuel offer from the Flybuys app to your Coles supermarket paper receipt, please contact Flybuys Service Centre on 13 11 16 Monday to Friday between 9am – 7pm AET.

    Good deal for those with limited options as you say. Using PetrolSpy info, it currently takes 35l to make up the difference between Costco 98 and the cheapest Coles fuel in Canberra with the offer. Since Colesworth help to prop up high fuel prices in Canberra it takes a particularly good offer (eg NRMA 12cpl off, now rare as rhs) for me to partake.

    anybody else notice the flybuy offers for Coles have taken a nose dive? I used to get them all the time and would use them, now my account barely gets anything worthwhile. My husband's account still gets some deals, so I use that one mostly, although only if worth it, and we both missed on on the last spend x$ for 4 weeks promo that we ALWAYS get like clockwork…in the end, it is their loss as it means I am barely spending money at Coles these days

      • nope, if they don't want me to spend my money there, then I won't. Two accounts is enough in one household of 2 people.
        I was just asking if others are having the same issue?…i.e. are Coles/Flybuys cutting back on their offers overall. It just happened to me suddenly around Dec, and I have had barely any offers since.

        • Yep used to get them, never used them because they aren't value for our shopping, but haven't seen one this year.

    PSA: if you use the AFL Live app, there is an option to get another 4c / L off fuel.

    Stackable with the Cole’s docket and spend $20 for 10c p/ L off.

    We fill up fortnightly and use a soda stream gas cylinder ($19 refill) per fortnight too, so get 18c p / L off buying a piece of fruit in store to get to the $20 spend.

        Once you launch the app, there are two ways to get to the relevant page:

        • There should be a red Shell V-Power banner towards the bottom of the app. Tap on that and you will be directed to the page to activate the offer.

        • Tap the three dots in the top right-hand corner of the app, then scroll down to Shell Fuel Offer. Tap on that and you will be directed to the page to activate the offer.

  • Can confirm: awful coffee. Redeemed a free one yesterday without this offer.

    redeem these many times now. you can run into trouble collect the coffee. some random staffs just plain don't know what they are or few staffs just untrained about this. they can keep repeat your flybuys card not showing up free coffee. usually they're by themselves and not keen to ask for help

      The option to redeem comes up when they move on to the payment screen, while a flybuys 10th coffee prompt comes up 1 step earlier as they are building the sale. If you ask them to process the sale normally the prompt will appear when they move to take payment.

      Their POS system is unintuitive ass & I dont think they did any training when they turned the fuel discounts into a fuel/coffee alternative deal.

      Lucky enough as haven't run into issues redeeming at stores close to me.

    • Redemption button seems to be located at the lower right corner on the screen.

      The 6th coffee for free is automatically applied.

      • finally bump into a no idea staff today. i've stated the instruction here mentioned as above and he's still clueless. if you redeem so many times then eventually you will hit one of these staff!

        lol just walked out and wait for next time when need a coffee. hopefully regular staff back on. tip always bring empty cup to counter first so if random failed you're not force hand to paid on spot

      Yes, just say you want a small coffee at the counter and that there should be a free one on your flybuys card (assuming you've activated your digital docket). Then it's up to you to either make or not make the coffee but I wouldn't recommend it.

  • looks like they may move this deal on after months of free coffees. maybe in-store offer would change first time at the end of 29 march. different freebie a free bottle water or free sim or discounted cheap item

    Heads up: if you have 5+ coffee credits, make sure to grab a valuable coffee (large or frozen). The attendant has no choice but to redeem the 6th (was the 10th) for free for you, in which case the fuel voucher will have to be saved for later.

  • No more free small coffee from today. New in-store offer is pretty crappy: 150g chips half priced for $3.50.

    • No, I did it for several accounts, refeemed them for small coffees.

      The due date is 13 April - but often points get paid out earlier than the 4 week mark for similar offers.

    • Probably due to "First time" terms. Your had never redeemed it on the 3 accounts before this promotion. I had no points on all accounts.

      The contradiction here is if the account is not eligible (have redeemed digital fuel voucher), flybuys should not have offered the promotion.

        Nah, I've never redeemed anything at Shell Coles Express - never had a reason to drive into one as I fuel up at 7-Eleven.

        All my accounts are sporadically used at Coles and are more than a couple of years old.

      • Log in the flybuy and check the transaction history. It shows when and where you spent. I only went to coles express coz of this deal, quite easy to find that transaction

        I actually did via FB messenger, either way will work.

    • I did an online enquiry yesterday. I had screenshots of everything (screenshot on the day I redeemed the coffee to remind me what day I went) and wrote a message with all the details. I usually call but didnt want to wait on hold this time and just sent the message off, hope they will just fix it up with no drama

      • So they replied asking for receipts. I didnt have a receipt for the free coffee but sent screenshots of the offer and of the coffee offer, along with the date it was redeemed. Flybuys always seem to make things harder than it should be (vs Everyday rewards that generally give you the bonus points straightaway and has a online chat which makes following up on points a lot less of a hassle)

          THB, I won't participate in any 4 weeks non-Coles BS promotion from now on. I had similar issues with liquorland, first choice liquor, etc.

          • @Neoika: Thanks I did give them all the relevant information, they can access it too (if I can, they should too) so hopefully they will just look more carefully and just adjust the points and not give me more grief over $7.5 worth of points lol

                • @Rain Cloud: No, afaik, flybuys has no authorization to view the items in a Coles purchase. You think a bank clerk can view any customers' accounts freely?

                  • @Neoika: Pretty sure when i chased up points with Everyday rewards I just told them what the offer was and date i completed the purchase and they just fixed it up. Flybuys is just crappier with bonus points

        they responded in 2 days. received the reply this morning telling me the points have been added.

    So after sending all the screenshots through, including the coffee transaction, they replied saying I 'didnt meet the qualifying spend'…??! I wrote a reply, and got an automatic reply: The recipient's mailbox is full and can't accept messages now. Please try resending your message later, or contact the recipient directly.

    So so annoying.

      • Yeah i sent absolutely everything before they replied with the 'qualifying spend' comment. I just repeated everything i had already said and still waiting now

          Hopefully they give you double for all the extra effort you've had to do. They clearly haven't read your email properly.

    • They asked for receipts/invoice. Again. Attached everything I had and sent it. Again. Their mailbox is full. Again.

      • Mailbox still full. Never doing this again, not worth the headache and hassle.

        • Check your flybuys activities carefully from Feb. I only submitted via online form once and got points added to the redemption date. I did mention when I redeemed it.
