      Can she handle it though?

She's impressed but I only use the tip

        • +4

Well don't go getting it caught in the little ring pull lock thingy there.

    • +1

you need to get a grip

make sure you clean after using, to prevent cross-contamination

      • I buy mine at HN as they claim to work on some dogs too.

nice, one more item closer to full set bonus

Is the +5 to flame resistance and +2 to range worth it though?

was really more for the platinum trophy achievement

  • Anyone used these and would recommend?

I have 6 of these in different shapes and sizes and I won't use anything else. They are incredible and clack with force.
I've given them as gifts and people love them.

    • +3

Yes and yes. Have lasted for years and still work as good as day one. I'd still like something that is more easily one-handedly locked/unlocked, but this is orders of magnitude better than the traditional sliding-metal-ring design that mostly just does whatever it wants to do. In saying that, given that the lock on these OXO ones is sillicone-covered, it is conducive to being opened with one's teeth.

Very recommend, I bought one of the 9-inch tongs to check it out, they're so good I threw out all my other cheap stamped tongs and bought two more oxo tongs.

    • I've got them. They are good. They took 11,353 weeks to arrive.

      • I see you ordered in 1805, the year James Squire was the first to plant hops in New South Wales.

    9" + 12" bundle with Nylon Head is $17.97 - https://www.amazon.com.au/OXO-1054627-Tongs-Cooking-Stainles…

    • Damn, can't resist that

      • Mine was 'delivered' at 3:17 but I can't find it anywhere.

Real deal is in the comments

    • I had to snag this deal

    • Thanks

    • Damn, nice one

    • Good finding. Nylon heads are safer for non sticks

    • OOS :'(

    • Purchased. Thank you

    • Plan to get this, but doesn’t state it’s dishwasher safe. Can anyone please confirm it’s dishwasher safe or must always hand wash?

If you're someone who cooks (in addition to being an acquisitive OzB member/lurker) and rates silicone tips, get Dreamfarm Clongs

    • Kinky!

    • Not impressed. Rusted, click average and silicone wears away. Well marketed.

      • So unlucky. I have two - both great, I no longer use any of my other tongs

  • Got both deals, nylon head and steel head…. good to have the choice of both for different foods. Getting rid of my old crap ones that cut everything soon as OXO arrives.

These tongs are not part of OXO's Good Grips range. SKU:28481, just regular tongs.

    • There's a difference between the regular kind and the good grips kind? Only thing I can tell is that the good grips has a nylon tip.

      • The nylon head ones are also regular tongs and not part of the Good Grips range. Example: SKU:48376 23cm Tongs. (Manufacturer code 1054627)

Amazon product titles cannot be trusted.

        • Just received my 9-in Tongs - front label says "OXO - Good Grips" back says "9 in Tongs with Nylon Heads -1054627"
Look better than my regular tongs

          • +1

@redhotchilli: I stand corrected then. OXO cannot be trusted with their marketing either.

Nowhere did OXO website described 48376 as a "Good Grips" product ("The Tongs with Nylon Heads are made of sturdy stainless steel…")

In contrast, an example "Good Grips" product (picked at random) shows "The OXO Good Grips Large Vegetable Prep Peeler makes quick work of big veggies…"

    • That's what the Amazon listing says, so going on that.

    • Update: they arrived in "Good Grips" packaging.

  • What makes these so special to justify the upvotes and the price??? I just don't get it…. it's a pair of tongs!

    • No you get 1 not a pair

  • I might pick these up.

  • https://amzn.asia/d/8e7YTls $17.97 for OXO 1054627 Good Grips Tongs with Nylon Head, 9-Inch/ 23 cm, Stainless Steel & Good Grips Tongs with Nylon Head, 12-Inch/ 30 cm

  • These look like the ones Aldi sells cheaper as a two pack, Woolies sells them too.

I bought the Aldi smaller ones, decent.

Wiltshire Tongs are better. You can lift 7kg briskets with them and heavy pieces of meat.

    $8.99

Wiltshire Bar B Tong, 35 cm, Silver https://amzn.asia/d/3SKimDL

These are on par to the Weber Tongs at $30.

    • Added the 2-pack and 3-pack to 3camels, will wait and see.

  • So my tongs got lost in the mail… Amazon is refunding sending another package out
